Three women are found dead in their homes, their nights of romance ended in violence. But as the men in their lives arrive one by one to confess the killings, FBI consultant Sophie Quinn suspects there’s more to these eerily similar murders than meets the eye.
With her own father hospitalized and the final threads of family bonds stretched precariously thin, Sophie much choose between finding the man who took her sister from her and finding the truth behind this new violence.
And with no time to lose, Sophie faces a painful choice and the true extent of her obsessions.
Having worked on projects with New York Times Bestsellers and USA Today bestsellers, Georgia Wagner recently hit #1 bestseller with her newest series. Location and character are two big factors for Georgia, and getting those right allows the story to flow seamlessly onto the page. And flow it does, because Georgia is so prolific a new term is required to describe the rate at which nerve-tingling stories find their way into print.
When not found attached to a laptop, Georgia likes spending time in local arboretums, among the trees and ponds. An avid cultivator of orchids, begonias, and all things floral, Georgia also has a strong penchant for art, paintings, and sculptures. A many-decades-long passion for mystery novels and years of chess tournament experience makes Georgia the perfect person to pen the Artemis Blythe series. That's where it all started, but the drive to craft thrilling mystery tales soon demanded new characters in new locations.
Sophie Quinn has supervising agent Libya Merchant on her case as she’s running out of excuses covering for her about returning to the Detroit field office, not to mention FBI Agent Hitchens is itching for her departure from Louisiana, oh to be popular…. With her father still in the hospital she’s bought a little more time . The FBI consultant at least has Agent Jonathan Greer watching her back… it’s the aftermath of the Coffin Killer case and there’s a new disturbing case of seemingly open /shut cases of the husband confessing to murder ping his partner but Sophie isn’t convinced and the partnership is working on solving them before any more deaths . Crimes of real tragedy where the victims are posed as if having eating dinner….Excellent plotting and tense scenes described well. Hooked on this series and the writing is so fluent ,you’re immersed into the story and compelled to finish without breaking off concentration. A thrilling read indeed .
I love this series so much! Once I start a book I can't put it down! I've even hid in the bathroom at work to sneak in a couple pages or finish a chapter! Georgia Wagner is so talented and her storytelling is amazing! I feel like I'm reading Criminal Minds, which is one of my favorite shows! And I am still rooting for Greer and Sophie to FINALLY get together! The tension between these two are killing me! Can't wait for the next book!!
Women are being murdered, and the significant other is confessing to it, but something doesn't ring true to Sophie, someone who can read people like a book. She and Greer race to decipher the clues before another couple falls victim to this craziness. An exciting book that is easy to read with great characters and a lot of good interactions.
I swore I read this before. It was eerily similar, but then....it wasn't. It was good, really good. You won't be disappointed, as you know, Georgia Wagner does not disappoint.
Intense from the start! This story will keep you on the edge of your seat! The case is baffling and every lead takes the story onto another twist that keeps the reader guessing right to the end! Well played Ms. Wagner!
Literature can teach you a lot, remembering it is the question
This story takes you to the brink of finding who has been helping the killer of the Greek tragedies. Are they random people or is there a method to this killers madness.
What a good author couldn't put the book down . Greer and Sophie are seeing the good bad and the companionship that they have a hard time coming up with a the start. Maybe they can be partners
The Widower’s Secret is a gothic masterpiece with a very original plot. Sophie and Greer are as brilliant as ever and the villain as depraved as anything I’ve read. It’s a great read.
