SHIFTER ROMANCE

Sasha has moved to the US from Australia with her mother who wanted to be with her new man. Sasha is still in high school and is just coming up to her eighteenth birthday. One of her newly made friends is Brittany. When Sasha stays the night at Brittany's house she meets her brothers. Savron is Brittany's oldest brother and at twenty eight he's ten years older than Sasha. But what Sasha doesn't know is that Brittany and all her family are lion shifters. Savron knows immediately that Sasha is his destined mate, but she's human and knows nothing about shifters or their existance.

I like this authors books. This one though was only okay for me. Savron and Sasha just seemed like a mismatched couple. For me it felt as though Sasha was left little choice in wether she wanted to be with Savron, it seemed on quite a few occasions that she was backed into a corner. Savron wasn't happy that she had interests which included dancing, he was jealous of her partner, and when he pushed her to move in with him, I was gobsmacked when her mother hardly said a word! But then once having got his own way he ignored her by working longer hours. The author didn't help matters by constantly reminding the reader that Sasha was only eighteen. Therefore it wasn't surprising to me when she behaved like a teenager. I usually love the older guy younger woman trope, but it didn't quite work here IMO he just seemed too old for her and she too young for him.

I started reading this and then did not want to stop until I had read it all...1:30am on a work morning, I finished.
I found this a fun read and I look forward to the next one...which I'm assuming will be Brandon and Jess' story.
Sasha is very young and innocent. She is a hard working and dedicated student who is also loyal and loving to her family and friends. Savron is a strong protective alpha type who is also hard working, and like Sasha, loyal and loving to his family and friends (not that we really meet any of his friends).
There is a ten year age difference between our couple which is one source of angst and another is the fact that our hero is a shifter and our heroine is human. Our couple each lead very busy lives so struggle to find quantity of time to spend together and just really talk/communicate, which exasperates the issues they need to come to terms with. Neither of them have ever had a true relationship before and are struggling to know how to deal with each other or their growing feelings. The shifter bond forces the relationship to move faster then either of them are ready for.
I would recommend this story if you have also read and enjoyed shifter stories by Marisa Chenery.

Sasha has just moved to America and is trying to adjust to her new life there when her life is turned upside down learning shifters are real, then learning she is the mate of a shifter. Sasha is unsure how to handle learning about shifters let alone how to handle Savron.

Savron has just found his mate because she is human he tries to keep a hold on his instincts letting her get to know him but at the same time moving to fast in other ways.

Savron likes to get his way and isn't used to dealing with a relationship leading to some miscommunication while Sasha tries her best but doesn't handle some problems well.

If your looking for a book that slowly leads with up to some steamy sex scenes, a lion who likes to get his way with a Alpha male jealousy streak and a beautiful caring girl that tries her best but still makes a few misakes along the way

I received this a copy of this book from an author giveaway.

Not My Preferred Genre
What did you not like:
I will note that NA/YA is not my preferred genre. It has too much high school drama to suit me. A lot of selfishness on the parts of the h/h and secondary characters.

What did you like:
Despite the age/attitude issue, the relationship build up was decent and there is enough lead in for subsequent books in the series. The story flowed nicely.

Would you recommend to a friend: If you are a fan of NA/YA I would recommend this book for you. It is well written and interesting.

1.5 stars.

This book was meh.

I had some problems with the book. The biggest being that it didn't read like Sasha was really 18. It wasn't very believable to me. When I was 18 and still in highschool there was no way that my parents or even my friend's parents would let their daughter move into some guy's house that 1) they haven't met or heard of before 2) is 10 years older than them and 3) is a guy that their daughter met 2 weeks ago. Not realistic. No parent would be okay with that. There was no real objection or questioning on the parent's part. There is just no way that would happen.

In addition, the timeline of this book felt off. Everything happened really fast. It felt like Sasha met the "hero" of the book one night talked to him twice and then moved in with him right after. There was no relationship development.

There are more things wrong with this book but I don't want to rant too much. Basically, the characters and their relationship was flat and stale. I would not recommend it to anyone. You should actually spend your time reading basically anything else.

I didn't like this at all. He meets her and he knows she's his mate immediately but because she's human and young he needs time to think, fair enough, but it is implied he is seeing a shifter woman and he goes off cos 'he needs to get laid ' I hate this in a story, of course she is not allowed male friends, even her dance partner, although he knows there is no attraction from her side.
She makes stupid decisions which drive home how immature she is.
This didn't work for me at all.

This was a very good book from one of my favorite new authors. I was a bit of a departure from books I read. The red hot love scenes were not as numerous as most of my authors. The story was well paced and the relationship between the two leads was intensely emotional. The love scenes when you finally get to them are worth the wait. I can not wait for more Sin city shifters.

I'm on a shifter roll right now. Lion shifter with a human mate. I felt he was very wishy washy with her because she was human. safe read. I thought $4.99 was a bit much for just around 100 pages though. That might stall my purchase of the second book in the series, not sure yet

Different take on the shifter world. I always enjoy Hazel's books so I knew this one would be good. I did feel initial frustration with Savron for not claiming his mate and then I felt frustration from both of them because there was too much back and forth. Sasha I could totally relate to because she was only 18 but at times I felt that Savron (who was 28) was also acting childish. Now that I'm finished and can look back on it and see that it made the book seem more realistic that someone like Sasha would have such a hard time adjusting to the whole mate for life thing. At her age and with her vibrant personality life is just beginning and everything can be so confusing when you're still in high school. I am very much looking forward to Brandon's story!

Sasha’s Lion is the first book in the Sin City Shifter series by Hazel Gower. I chose this book for two reasons. One is that I have not read this author before and the second is I love shifter novels. I always love reading new authors take on shifters.

Sasha Brento is from Australia. She moved to America because her Mother would not have moved to join her boyfriend unless she came with her. Therefore, Sasha is in a new school in her last year of high school. Sasha does not know anyone in town but does manage to make one friend. However, her brother is what caches her attention.

Savron is a hot and sexy lion shifter ten years older than Sasha. Savron has never even dated a human sticking to other shifters. He is thrown for a loop when he finds out his sister’s friend is his mate and a virgin to boot. Savron does his best to balance the growing emotions to mate with Sasha and her getting used to him and his life.

This book was well written with the main and secondary characters stimulating and engaging. While the overall concept of an 18-year-old high school student moving out of her mother’s house and into her mates house is a bit unrealistic the pace of the story was believable. I loved how the sex was discussed and no pressure given to Sasha by Savron. His waiting even after they moved into together was nice to see. Overall, this was a great story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I REALLY enjoyed this book; in fact, I have to admit that it is my favourite shifter book of Hazel’s so far. I loved every single character except Zeck (he did my head in! total cling on!). I also will admit to being frustrated with Savron for not being able to make his mind up about claiming Sasha. The pride family are awesome and I love the way they stick together.. Like a pride of lions * wink, wink*. They were determined to help Savron and Sasha to become a couple. I cannot wait to start the next book, and I hope for more from this series.

After moving from Australia to America, the last thing Sasha expected was to be as popular as she was. After meeting cheerleader Britney Pride, they are fast to become best friends. Sasha soon meets Britney’s brothers; the oldest soon makes his attraction to her known. But Sasha is soon confused by Savron’s reaction to her. After learning that her best friend and her family are lion shifters, Sasha attempts to take a step back from them. But after a few weeks apart Sasha can’t stay away any longer, she needs Savron in her life and she needs her best friend beside her. But as the relationship progresses, Savron and Sasha have a few bumps along the way, but can they get over those bumps together, or will they give up?

This had been sitting on my Kindle for a while, and with book two of the series out now, I finally carved some time to read it, and will be delving straight into the next one.

Hazel and shifters go together like coffee and chocolate, as far as I'm concerned, and Hazel proved once again why she's an auto buy for me.

If you love your shifters then this is a must read :-)

Hazel's shifters are such great reads. This is another well written book that is just great. I love how this book shows nothing is ever perfect in being together and you have to work on things to make each other happy.

This was a pretty enjoyable shifter read but I had a little trouble connecting with Sasha's character being in high school. At eighteen, Sasha shows at times she's self-centered and immature. I found myself feeling sorry for Savron. For me the book was one of those, I liked it but didn't love it.

This book was a pleasant surprise. It has a bit of a different take on the normal shifter scenario. I enjoyed the story line. The tone reminds me a bit of Kathi Barton, whose books I enjoy a lot. I will be reading more books by this author.

It was a little weird because of the age difference. Sasha is still in high school and Savron is 28. Sasha definitely needed to grow up a little more.

Heroine is far, far too immature. The author repeats it several times that she just turned 18, but she truly needed to be at least 2 years older and not in high school.
