This memoir of the father and uncles of Queen Victoria throws light on the extraordinary offspring of George III. Starting with the marriage of King George and Queen Charlotte, Roger Fulford goes on to offer spicy biographies of their younger sons - Frederick, Duke of York; William, Duke of Clarence, later William IV; Edward, Duke of Kent and Queen Victoria's father; Ernest, Duke of Cumberland, and later King of Augustus, Duke of Sussex; and Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge.
Interesting but more on the politics of their era. So if you’re interested in the ins and outs of Catholic Emancipation & the Reform Act, then support it. It tended to be each Duke’s stance on these and less about their characters.
