* New Adult Romance Novel* contains strong language, sexual situations and adult themes. Intended for mature readers.
Reese Summers lives on the East Coast with her husband and daughter. When she isn't busy writing, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
This was a quick and fun story with entertaining characters to follow. It also has a Happily for Now ending. On a side note: I wish the book I got was in an eBook format, otherwise, it was a good story.
Eh this was just another rock star book to me. I thought that Leo was a hot mess and I was disturbed by the choices he made. I guess not everything can be great but that was a disappointment. Carly had her moments where I just couldn't stand her she seemed to have an attitude and was snotty some of the time. I liked her best friend Quinn better. The writing was alright and the story was okay.
Well (heavy sigh), this starts with a bang (pun intended). The h, Carly catches her fiance, Walker of 5 yrs in the act with a nubile 18 yr old up and coming (again intended) music artist.. This had angsty goodness all over it from this start. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Carly simply leaves her cheating ass fiance and walks away from her 1st headlining tour Sideroad, that she and douchebag started. She calls a bestie, Quinn, in New York, and the rest is just mediocre. It's actually kinda sweet, and I wasn’t up for sweet. So, it's a me thing. It's not bad, I was just hoping for more drama/angst.
This started out with the country singer finding her co star and fiance in bed with an up and coming singer. She walks out on both of them. Breaking not just the engagement but her contract with her label. She wants nothing to do with either. She ends up signing with a rock group. But when the lead singer of the new band she is with turns out to be a man whose who has his sights on her, what is she to do? Will she get her happy ending? Or is he just going to use her like her ex?
This book was enjoyable to read. I am glad Carly got what she deserved. I am also glad she found happiness after her sorrow. I would definitely recommend reading this.
What is available was good. Some cringeworthy moments. But the biggest issue is the way the book stops. Absolutely terrible. I hope the author completes the story or someone else does.
Pretty good book. Characters are developed fairly well. Carly goes through a lot of internal conflict, questioning the her trueself but face to face, she will stand up for herself, which makes her a more believable character. Seems a little hard to believe that Leo would change his ways that fast. And for Walker being such an important part of Carly's life, there wasn't but a few spots of conflict. Maybe I was just looking for more emotional turmoil. Ending seemed a little abrupt. Still a good, quick read.
Reese Summers rocked this story! Country singer Carly Michaels had the courage to walk away from Walker, her caught-in-the-act-with-another-woman, lying, cheating boyfriend. Carly was more heart-broken about walking away from her upcoming tour and singing career. Because of her courage, Carly got back more than she lost when she met famous rock star, Leo Nash! (Is this the same Leo Nash in Kristen Proby's Rock With Me)? Nevertheless this is an awesome story!
Who wouldn't love a book with a sexy rock star lead character! Even better this ones trying to reform and not be a bad boy. It's funny, it's sweet and it has a kick ass female lead.
