When Chamele Barbarian Warlords started I like everyone else thought Tolui was a really bad bad guy.
Turns out he was just a misunderstood Warlord with a soft heart.
What we previously learned about Tolui was from the other 3 Warlords. I'm so glad they had no idea what they were talking about and that Tolui got his HEA with Lea.
These were good strong characters and I loved every minute of this book.

I love this story!
I’m thrilled to learn more about Tolui and to see some resolution to the problems the Warlords are having. Of course, the first chapter brought tears to my eyes! To be alone, to feel guilt for surviving can have a long lasting effect. It is fascinating and heartwarming to see how this plays out when Lea meets Tolui. The ‘tug-of-war’ between Tolui and Lea is entertaining as she challenges his beliefs, his authority. Each interaction peppered with Lea’s unfiltered whispered commentary. She is such a bright and capable woman. I believe Tolui has met his match! I especially like this (from Lea): “If she could, she would hold back the sunrise, keep him with her forever.” That sounds like love to me. A soul satisfying ‘must read.’

Cynthia Sax writes great stories. This one is about clones, and clones of clones, in space! Aliens abound, life goes on. And she makes the best life she can. Until he comes - and she’s not alone anymore. What kind of life can she have now? Love these stories. Recommend Cynthia Sax anytime. 👍

Even better than expected!

Tolui’s story was perfect! This story was long awaited, the confrontation between the Warlords and the clone, and it was even better than I expected. And Lea is a beast in a tiny body. I loved everything about this story!!!

I like Lea. She has spent so much time on her own and has been so strong and resourceful. She's very admirable. Tolui is not the bad guy everyone thinks, and he definitely loves his mate a lot.

Love

This is an amazing wrap up to the 4 Chamele Warlords. I Love that heroine teaches her Warlord so much and that she talks to herself. It's endearing and makes me happy.

I'm gonna 'assume' that this is the last book in this series. I actually liked Lea's personality at the beginning of the book even her quirk of whispering to herself, however, as the book progressed she started sliding into the 'to stupid to live' category, especially when she tries to take down Berke. I've been looking forward to Tolui's book since he was first introduced, and I wasnt disappointed. I always got the impression from all the previous books that he was forced into warring with the other warlords. Now I love me some smut in my books but the sex between these characters seemed borderline....wait no, it was abusive. I know it's different strokes for different folks but I found it very uncomfortable to read someone being turned on by violence to their person, bc the minute you start bleeding from bites, that's violence, in my opinion. on another note, I've survived reading 5 books where ALL characters kept referring to their clothes as 'ass coverings'...would it not have been original enough to say pants or kilts? I shit you not when I tell you that everytime, for 5 books, I read 'ass coverings' I kept imagining booty shorts.... leather no less. also on the same note as clothing, how the hell do these ppl have space travel but they've got no other fabric besides leather?

Series: Chamele Barbarian Warlords #5
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Tolui is a Chamele clone who has been leading his fellow clones in a stealth battle to control the Chamele sector. When he crashes on Chamele 4 he is rescued by the tiny human Lea, who changes his plans of leaving immediately.

I was surprised by how much I liked this couple. Lea is a garment fabricator who has been hiding from a group of males trying to capture her. She risks capture to help Tolui after his ship crashes. The lust between these two is instant and strong. Lea is a kind hearted woman but she wasn’t afraid to defend herself or Tolui if necessary. She ended up being perfect for Tolui, and the rest of the clones, because she tempers his aggression and shows him a different perspective on life.

Tolui has been portrayed as the bad guy from the beginning but some of his actions have shown that he isn’t all bad. He is a protective and aggressive Chamele warrior but his past has taught him not to be judgmental of differences. He accepts everyone and that makes him a great leader.

Overall, this was a great fated mate romance. There was a lot of steamy sex, a lot of emotional connection, and some action as well.

Tolui has been chased by the Warlords from day one. He has stolen a ship, abducted people, and caused trouble for them. But there is more to him than being a clone. He thinks that is all there is but there is more. Lea has been left alone on Chamele 4 for a long time. Her father and friend have gone and she has had to learn all on her own. Tough woman but she never expected to meet a Warlord. Even more, these two didn’t expect to be connected. Lea is Tolui gerel but he doesn’t believe it. How can a clone have a destined mate? We find out and more. I love that Tolui first think it is all a dream but Lea knows and she isn’t going to put up with any jerk treating her like she is glass. I like her toughness. And she makes me laugh with all her conversation out in the open. But with the other brothers finally seeing and understand what was truly going on with Tolui and his clones, things changed. And it was for the better.

Male And Female Warriors
If you love strong men and women getting their HEA, you’ll love the books in this series!
Chamele men are big, strong, possessive and protective warriors hoping to one day find their genetically unique mate, their gerel or light in their darkness. And their gerel, mostly human women, are strong, stubborn, sassy warriors in their own way. The stories are full of funny dialogues, steamy scenes, fighting and loving. Wonderful entertainment, I loved them all.

Warlord’s Mercy

Being alone for so long means you sometimes talk to yourself. Then a warrior fly’s into your life and everything you say to him makes it very interesting. But can they stay together if there is war? Recommend this book and series

This Warlord made me want to smack him upside the head a few times with his 'Fragile Female,' tangents. When he was delirious he didn't have no problems mating with his gerel! Now that he was fully conscious 😳he's behaving like a Ninny!

Warlord's mercy

The clone Tolui did not have a good beginning and despite that managed to save Lea and capture her heart. Tolui is very rough but Lea enjoys it.

I was trying to wait and get caught up on this series before I read this one. I couldn't so I just went ahead and read it. I have to say that I am glad that I gave in.

Lea is on the run from the man that killed her father right in front of her. He wants her for himself and he has a lot of women and she doesn't want to be one of them. She knows that everything he told her father and her was a lie. All Lea wanted was a place to call home.

Tolui is a clone and can't believe his luck when he meets Lea. Seems everything that he was told and believed in was a lie. He is able to have a mate. He knows that he has to go and fight the other warlord's but first he has to find his mates and then get everything over with so he can have a relationship with Lea.

This was one exciting book. I loved the first one in this series but this one was even better. I really like Tolui even though he called himself a clone and that he wasn't worth anything. When he meets his mates he starts to understand that there really is only one person for you no matter if you look like tons of other clones.

A good entry into the Barbarian Claims series. At last, we get to hear Tolui’s side of the story. The man Berke, Khan, and Murad have sworn to kill doesn’t appear to be such a bloodthirsty creature after all. In fact, he actually fits quite easily into the Warlords’ family. In a definite switch, whereas Tolui had a bounty on Khan in the first story, now Tolui is the one being hunted.

The series is summed up with a satisfying ending.

I really enjoyed the final book in the Warlord series. Cynthia Sax really knows how to focus on the character. She makes people's real insecurities or foibles come to life in a charming way in her books. Tolui has a very unique issue being that he is a clone and Lea is one of those fearless and skilled women that I love as a heroine who just happens to enjoy making clothes. The sex is hot as usual with a Cynthia Sax novel, but my favorite part was the wrap-up of the series as we see Tolui and his "family" interact. A feel good read that I read in a day!

Very enjoyable read. I loved how Lea talked to herself all the time and how honest she was. Pleased Tolui did not take long to realise Lea was he gerell and that he was as deserving as any other Chamele to have one.
