This is Diane’s story. As she is forced to confront the ghosts of her past, Zac comes into her life. Scarred with demons of his own, he’s willing to stand up for Diane and, if needed, stand in front of her to keep her safe. It’s a story filled with emotional twists, gripping drama, and a surprise turn or two that will keep you turning pages from start to finish. Zac’s character is a strong addition to this ensemble, being the perfect counterpoint to Diane’s character.
Like the previous stories, Diane’s storyline is compelling as she struggles, with Zac’s help, to stand up against the fears and anxieties from her childhood. Be prepared, although some questions will be answered, there will be more yet to be. The tale isn’t over yet, but hang in there, there’s a finale where I have faith all will be resolved.
Bounty (Walk the Right Road #4) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Diane Larsen has a past that is so dark, she's had to bury it. She never thought that it would catch up to her, but there is a body that is found on a secluded highway only ten miles from her home. She knows that she has to keep her secrets buried but then she meets Zac, a forensics guy. It just so happens that he figures out what she's been hiding. I enjoyed reading Diane and Zac's story, and can't wait to read more by the author.
What a fantastic writer this author is. With this series I just cannot put the books down. Each one is as brilliant as the next. Has Diane got an admirer? It is a true testament to her courage what she has to go through in this story. Back to her roots which she has never disclosed to anyone. Until now. Who is the handsome Zac who takes Diane's breath away? And he appears to feel the same way about her. He is with her every step of the way as she faces her past.
After an unusual murder gets passed to Diane, she is forced to face her miserable past. Through it, she is introduced to the new forensic medical examiner, Zak, and things heat up between them while they push to solve the murder. Added to this, Sam tags along to try and help Diane face her past, and tensions between him and Marcie flares. Shocking and heart-breaking entry in a fabulous series .
Well done! Like other readers, I thought I had the ending small figured out, but I didn't see the girl being tied to Dianne. Ready for the next surprise!
This was a different story. Diane a cop has her past scaring her when she has to investigate the murder of a young woman. She becomes involved with a corner with his own personal issues. Follow this story, to see how Diane and Zac deal with their issues.
Zac sounds very mysterious…I thought Joseph would get arrested, but apparently not,and I was sad that her mother returned to the house ! Still hopeful that Sam and Marcie work it out…
Part of a series. This is a great book. Lots of action and the characters are wonderful. Be prepared though, the ending is a cliffhanger for the final book.
This was a disappointing read, it was fairly short and unless you've read the first three books you won't understand half of what's going on, I hadn't. It also ended suddenly, without really finishing off the story started in this book, and I don't like books that leave you with dead endings, by all means carry on with the characters you've introduced but don't throw in a murder then fail to solve it, and suddenly bring back a dead character the reader has never been introduced to.
It's described as sexy, but that certainly never came across to me, if anything it was a load of macho bull that did nothing for me as a reader.
I don't think I managed to feel anything for any of the characters other than disappointment, and there wasn't really a suspense element going on.
When I downloaded the book to my Kindle I struggled to find the book description in amongst the pitches for other books, so wasn't sure what I'd downloaded. As I've already mentioned it didn't deliver on the sexy element and the crime element was very weak and unresolved. It needs a book description that makes it clear you need to read the books before and after to understand anything and find an ending, and it needs a book description that loses the sales pitches for other books.
I always hoped that Diane Larson would have her own story in the “Walk the Right Road” series and wasn’t at all disappointed by this wonderful tale. She’s a prickly character with a warm heart and a lot of baggage….best kind of people to write about since they’re interesting as all get-out. Diane’s been a good friend to Marcie and a good partner to Sam. So when the time comes for her own conflicts to start, I was happy to see her meet a great hero in Zac. He’s the kind of guy who will support her while she deals with the ghosts from her past and her early years where she grew up in the prison of a polygamist family. Now her new case, a girl left dead on a lonely road, forces her to go back to everything she ran away from. This story picks you up, and like most of Ms.Eckhart’s books, carries you along smoothly so it’s impossible to stop reading.
Bounty answered some questions and brought up more
Bounty is the fourth book in Walk the Right Road. I'm not sure anyone in this book actually walks the right road however. There were characters brought in and I'm not sure of their purpose in this book unless it was just to make one main character appear more human. If you've started the series you need to read this one. If you haven't, I wouldn't recommend starting the series.
I'm not surprised that this was another good book from this author. I am looking forward to the last book to tie all the characters up. then on to the next series from this author
