Bee Robinson’s dream is to be an omega. What she is, though, is a weird beta on the run from her ex and her small town.
Weird as in unusual, as in being a lot like an omega, rather than her official designation. It’s what got her into trouble with her ex and her family.
But now she’s about to get her life straightened out. A new town, a new job, new friends, and a chance to accept who and what she is.
Learn from your mistakes, isn’t that what they say? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Only her new friends also seem to think she may be an omega, and so do the members of the St. Laurent pack who instantly start courting her.
A pack of four gorgeous males, each with their own insecurities and doubts, a pack needing her to cement the bonds that make them a family, needing her to join them as their mate.
A family…
Does it matter if you’re a beta or an omega when all you need is to accept yourself as you are and see where it takes you?
Her new friends and the pack seem to think so, and in the end Bee may have to let nature take its course, come what may.
At the end of the rainbow, there will be a happy ending.
* This is a sweet omegaverse standalone novel with low angst, four gorgeous guys and a curvy girl who find happiness together, accepting themselves and finding trust and love in each other.*

Over all a sweet story of finding your community & accepting yourself. I unfortunately found this a challenge to finish. I liked the characters, the sexy times but struggled with how no one could be truthful about their pasts, their feelings or their fears. No trust between partners, friends or family. Some plot points went unresolved. A victim of IPV was silent, even to family, leaving the potential of more possible victims as they just left, then never warned others of the danger. The constant denials, running away & refusing to listen became tiresome after the first half a dozen times that continued & doubled & became unbelievable that anyone would persist chasing someone so unreliable & inconsistent. I was determined to finish as I paid for this outside my KU membership. It was a bit strange CREW was only mentioned @ the end. I guess to tie into the title someway.
This story was just slightly annoying and had a lackluster ending. The mfc was annoying and acted like a 13 year old with her first crush but never actually believed they wanted her until like 60% of the book. They literally told her over and over, yes we want you and she would think oh they don't mean it, oh they will leave me. None of the excuses she came up with for over half the book made any sense and the mmc never even hinted at any of it. The main bad guy is lackluster and it's resolved so easily. I love omegaverse books because the pack revolves around the Omega and in this one it seemed like they focused on other relationships and the new Omega was just added. There was already an Omega there and he seemed to love the beta more than the rest. I'm actually upset that I payed for this.
As you might have guessed, I was excited to get a copy of this book because, well, Bee and the Honey Crew :) I will say, while the book was good, there were definitely some disappointments too.
Bee has always thought she was a Beta, she is a bit of a late bloomer. She has always felt more like an omega, so it was really hard on her when friends and family always badgered her for being not Beta enough. Bee gets away from her small town living, works in a coffee/bookshop, going to school, and sharing an apartment with a mix of Alphas and Betas. She is excited to be somewhere more open to "designation dysphoria", if you will. This book was pretty much a sweetverse, with not a whole lot of angst, but a little. It is listed as a "candyverse," though I am not sure what that means. Maybe it is a sweetverse with a little angst! :) Throughout this story, Bee faces many challenges, mostly from within, and trying to find where and how she is supposed to exist in the world.
I really loved all of the friends Bee made. She really found her family and made her tribe in this little neighborhood she moved into. Everyone was so supportive. I really loved the Pack that found her as well. I always like seeing more than one omega in a pack, I like the dynamic it adds to a story. I like that it sticks pretty close to most omegaverse style, except, all the designations can live in harmony and be who they want to be. So that was a nice spin.
My copy was in dire need of editing, lots of misspelled words and incorrect words in the story. It did become kind of distracting, however, this is an ARC, so hopefully it gets cleaned up before release. The writing style felt very rushed for me. I felt like I was running a race when I read it. Also, sometimes I would get lost and have to reread because it felt like I missed something. I do feel like by the end, the story kept going on and on. Maybe some of those chapters could have been edited down a bit and combined and still got the points across about the scenarios the chapter covered.
All in all, I still enjoyed this book. I do recommend it as well. I think it was refreshing in ways of omegaverse because sometimes they can be really daunting. As usual, the angst doesn't happen until close to the end, and the situation helps propel Bee forward with her pack decisions she is trying to make. This book is heavy on the spice. For majority of the story it is MMMM, and then later MMMMF. It is told from multipoint of view. There is a HEA.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Bee was a beta who moved away from home. She was running away from a situation and trying to find herself. She had insecurities a mile long due to her crazy ex and her parents. Her parents were supposed to be nice and maybe didn't fully understand her, but I didn't like them...
The guys came in like a whirlwind. They were intense but sweet, blunt but honest. It was just what Bee needed and vice versa. They completed each other in every way.
The only con I had that had me rolling my eyes was the FMC's lack of confidence. I understood why, but she was extra. And her back and forth with her feelings. Stop saying you haven't decided when we know you have. Let's move it alone. Lol.
Overall, a good read. HEA was just what Bee and her guys needed.
I received the ARC for this book and I devoured it! This was my first omegaverse story but not my first why choose. It was so good. I love how it discusses how you don’t have to be in a “category” but you can be who you want to be, your authentic self. The love these characters had for each other was so precious. I love how they all fell in love with Bee and welcomed her into the pack with open arms. Definitely read this book!!!
I absolutely loved the finding your own identity aspect of this book. I found the FMC lovable and absolutely adored her friend group she made in her new city.
I recommend this book if you like a sweet omegaverse about learning to love. About growth within the established back and individual struggles.

I really wanted to like this book but I struggled to connect with Bea and the men that formed her pack. I found it hard to believe how they came together...don't get me wrong, I read reverse harem omegaverse romance for the steam not the plot BUT this book just didn't do it for me. It seemed to drag on and on.
this was pretty cute! i think part of me is still chasing the high of the sweetverse novels, or the scent of us, so this didn't quite check all of my boxes, but i still had a great time reading it.
there were some moments where the writing just didn't itch my brain quite right, but that doesn't mean that the book isn't good. i really appreciated the emotional depth of this one, with so many people feeling uncertain about their place in this relationship, and watching them all be reassured was very sweet and heartwarming.
granted, i don't know exactly how i feel about everyone in this book being like "i am an omega." it's really strange to read a book that's partially about reassuring kade that his beta status is perfect and wonderful and a reason that he is loved, not a detriment, but then to watch bee and coco (i think it was coco) sit there and be like "all i want is to be an omega but i am not." that just feels like something weird to have to hold in the back of your mind.
not to mention, this universe makes some interesting choices about the designation based characteristics. most of the omegaverse books that i've read before make the characteristics of omegas/alphas/betas mostly biological and/or instinctual: hormone changes, heats, physical traits, etc.
this book chooses to take it a little bit further in a way that feels weird to me. according to some of the attitudes in this book, betas only dress in dark neutral colors?? they do not usually like "cute things" (??? i still don't know what this means...stuffed animals? puppies? babies? absolutely no idea.) this part feels strange to me because i don't like this concept where apparently actual personality traits come down to designation?? it just feels like something saying "alphas only like rock music" (no, this does not happen, but it's what it feels like)
Honestly, I am quite disappointed with this novel. I've had this in my TBR list for ages, and I'm actually peeved that I even spent money on it. The idea behind it was good... moving to a new city to escape her past, Bee having self doubts and insecurities about who she is, a pack that's super interested in her from the start... but the execution just wasn't there.
To start, I just never saw the actual chemistry between the pack and Bee. Like yeah, they all liked each other's scents, but that was basically it. There was no development between any of them where they actually spent time with each other and got to know one another. It was all very surface level in my opinion. Also, I couldn't quite wrap my head around how any of this omegaverse dynamic even worked. So they are scent matches but they could also be scent matches with literally anyone else, it just has to do with how much they like the scent?? That really takes to romantic aspect out of it.
I did also find some of the language to be very off putting and somewhat immature in that Bee on several occasions would refer to her "vajayjay" and that's just weird. Like sorry, if I'm gonna read about how a 22 year old dates a pack that has the oldest member being 33, I would at least expect language that isn't that of a child's.
To top it off too, if I ever had someone I just met who I was potentially becoming friends with ever tell me that I needed to go to the gym to get rid of my love handles the way that Gigi said to Bee... you betcha that with every fibre of my soul I would not continue on with that friendship. What a horrid thing to say to someone who literally didn't ask.
Normally, I stick to KU for books like this but... well, mistakes were made. Clearly. Not worth the money.
So far, this book is 95% internal monologue and angsty fretting. No world building. No real character development since the internal monologues all circle around the same goddamn things, page after page of this exhausting repetition. The same interactions happening over and over and over again.
And Bee? Her entire personality is her designation obsession/doubts. Like... I get that's a big part of her "trauma" but ffs, can we get anything else but this shrinking, twitchy dumpster fire of a personality? Wtf does anyone like about her? Because normally I dig the whole shy, artsy weirdo schtick, but I can't stand being in this chicks head a second longer.
This is the kind of book that starts making the back of the shampoo bottle look like an attractive reading alternative.
P.S. Have you ever been around someone who tries to be cheeky or quippy or amusingly quirky, but instead it comes across like they're trying too hard to be something they're not? Yeah... a lot of that happening in this book. It would be one thing if it was intentionally written and acknowledged to be awkward or trite, but these were written like there was a laugh track to the author's inorganic attempts at comedy. Like thinking you're clever for asking a tall person what the weather is like up there.
This is my first opportunity to read Mona Black, and she does not disappoint. I have not read a genre like this before with the Alpha, Omega and beta hierarchy and to say it was interesting is an understatement. Bee, running from her past, cannot get over the demoralizing way her ex treated her and put her down constantly. Always identified as a beta, she felt like she was not needed or wanted in her world. When her parents gave her the chance to leave her small town and go to college she jumped at the opportunity! Meeting Gigi and making new friends was her top priority, but she still could not let go of feeling unworthy of any attention that was sent her way. Welcome The Pack! Everyone one wanted in on these guys...They were all smoking hot!! 4 men who found they all had an interest in little ol Bee. Feeling that she was also their mate and needed her in their pack. This story is fascinating and a must read as Bee navigates a new world that opens her eyes to a truth she knew deep down! Loved how Kade, Nate, James and Jae fought for Bee and were determined to make them theirs. An overall great entertaining read!! And swoon worthy HEA, where Bee and her boys find their niche in life and well deserved HEA.

Poorly written. So much text spent endlessly going over the same thoughts by all the characters. Over and over again! Total lack of communication by any characters that could actually sort the angsty problems out. How a poly relationship could possibly work without group meetings, basic ground rules or any discussions at all is beyond me. Sudden kissing she didn’t ask for is apparently normal? She just ignores it the next time she sees them! Everyone keeps stressing and obsessing endlessly circling around and around over the same ground. The fmc has very odd behavior and keeps literally running away but somehow the male mc’s can’t stop chasing her and don’t think she is inconsistent and strange?
This was a cute little story, where the FMC is starting a new chapter in her life after having gone through an abusive relationship. I really liked the premise of a coffee shop where most people knew each other. It gives a cosy atmosphere and a pleasant setting for chilling out, reading a book or simply catching up with friends. I found it fairly relatable and loved the fact that it was precisely the spot where Bee first encounters her love and interests. To meet it seemed that more time was needed for the pack to really bond. I just wanted more information about some of the MMCs characters. Overall, it was a very pleasant read.
Great Second Chance Why Choose ❤️❤️ I just finished this awesome book. Fluid and well-written with a great pace.I loved this from beginning to end. The world build was on point. The characters were very vivid, and their emotions came across clearly. With nothing to lose, the FMC leaves an abusive past, always looking behind her shoulder. A new city a new job presents her an opportunity for a fresh start. The book unravels into a second chance, why choose storyline that was phenomenal. I don't do spoilers because it takes away from the story, but the blurb gives you an idea of what you are going to get. This book doesn't disappoint. It's packed with punch! Can't wait for the next book!
So I’m 17% of the way through and the writing seems a little juvenile. It’s quite broken and currently difficult to follow the mindset of the characters. It’s quite distracting and at the moment, I’m unsure what the story is or where it’s going. 39% of the way through and I’ll be honest… I am still not 100% sure what is happening. Everyone seems to not know what their designation is (or seem to not want to be what they are) and the FMC literally runs away every single time something happens. I just think that this book is trying to have too many things going on and I feel like it’s not being handled well. All the characters seem selfish and wrapped up in themselves even when they say they’re not.
I wanted to like this...really really like this...but I honestly cannot understand how they'd possibly be a strong pack when they demand trust from one another, yet each individual has so many insecurities that none of them share with the others or wants to rely on the strength of the other. Bee is a band-aid to their problems..a solution to their own short comings...one of those 'she'll fix it all' kinds of tropes that would fall apart in a heartbeat in the real world.
First book I've read of the author...not sure yet how I will proceed with other books in the future.
2.3⭐️ I can't tell you how much I wanted to like this. The idea was amazing, but the execution? Not so much. From cringy dialogue, to telling not showing, and just so much repetition that it made me skim the last 40%- it wasn't my thing. This story was slightly annoying and had a lackluster ending. The mfc was annoying and acted like a 13 year old with her first crush but never actually believed they wanted her until like 60% of the book. Since I mostly read ov-rh for the smut, and the fact I had to wait so long to get it- WHILE there was a bad plot? Ieuw.
This is book 1 in the Candyverse series. I loved the FMC and the group of friends she made. I also love the St. Laurent Pack. This book was well written. The main characters had their own flaws, but together they were able to heal and grow. I recommend this book if you like sweet omegaverse with found identity, found family, MM, MF and why choose. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really really really loved reading this book! The story was well written and soon free me in. The DLC is really sweet, and adirable. Although she's confused about her designation, if she is a beta or an omega, she starts making friends in no time. The pack of MMCs are lovely, and determined to win her over. I hope the author writes more books in this series, as I want to read more books like this!!
I loved this book! Honesty I was drawn in by the title- I'm a bee and honey person so I was on board immediately. The story was lovely and engaging. I liked Bee as our main character and the boys were a great group. Mona Black was a new author for me and I really enjoyed her story telling and character building. I am a spicy, MM, why choose omegaverse fan and this hit it all forme!.

Such a cool story. Loved the POVs showing their emotions, fear of not being loved or fitting in as a family. It showed how easily relationships can be fractured because no one was willing to open up and explain what they were feeling. Mona did a wonderful job bringing them all together as a family unit. 😊
This was a great read. How can you have a pack that really fits have so much doute in themselves. This book has everything, small town small mindedness, manipulation and trying to navigate it all. In the end love and compassion won out.

It's a good, Cohesive flow of plot. Cute how they kept pursuing her while protecting, and respecting her space. Though she kept denying that she was turning into an omega. The spice was good. The men in this book were good. The male omega was cute and the representation was good. More Asian characters were a plus. James was a meh but he had a character growth. Overall Good.
A cute omegaverse. A tiny bit of stalking by an evil ex. So if you’re easily stressed read the warning first. Bee is so full of self doubt, I feel she was a bit immature for her age that way. Jae who was younger and a guy you expect that level of immaturity from a 20 year old male. The alphas were adorable but the beta was the one who stole your heart.
There are parts of I really enjoyed, love and affection but I found the heroine just a little too riddled with insecurities and it had a bit too much of a gender identity crisis and I guess I like my romances to not have gender issues in them as it sort of detracts from the romance.

I loved this book, I laughed, I cried, I was anxious, I envied them. The book flowed well and the story was exciting and not overtly predictable. Can't wait to read more from this author.
