**24,000 word Romantic Novella. Warning: Includes detailed sexual encounters**
As mentioned in an earlier review, Breah Elise is a new author on the block making her presence felt with her penchant for writing some charming love stories.
Mistaken Identity is a short and steamy novella, as Olivia accidentally sleeps with her boss’s brother instead of her boss. As a consultant working for Daniel’s company, she has been attracted to his brother since she’s seen him. As her work comes to an end, her wild side decides to seduce her boss and get it out of her system. Unfortunately Olivia ends up seducing Daniel, and the realization that she is actually attracted and losing her heart to him, shocks her to the core.
Unknown to her, Daniel had been attracted to Olivia since the first time he’s seen her. And when she seduces him, little does he realize that she’s actually thinking it was his brother. With that realization also comes the fact that both he and Olivia are attracted to each other despite the misunderstanding and end up with each other.
But trust is a fragile and expensive commodity and despite loving Olivia, Daniel cannot get over the fact that she wanted his brother first. With a lot of past insecurities where his brother is concerned, Daniel has a lot of hang-ups to overcome if he wants to keep Olivia in his life forever.
A simple love story where Breah brings out the normalcy of a relationship that seems to go nowhere, both fearing to address the elephant sitting in the room, and the final straw that breaks them apart as they try to sort the issues of the heart. Love and trust go hand in hand, and the mind and heart should believe in it for a relationship to see a future. And in the matter of mind and heart, Daniel has an uphill battle to win Olivia’ trust.
Short, steamy and emotional, “Mistaken Identity” is good read!
I got "Mistaken Identity" as a free read via Amazon and was pleasantly surprised that, for a quick read, it was quite interesting and had my attention almost all throughout. The pacing was pretty good and the characters were likable enough. It was written well but did have a few editing issues that were missed.
The title and blurb somewhat live up to expectations and the idea of sleeping with someone you've lusted over for the longest time and then waking up the next morning to the realization that you slept with his brother is intriguing, though calling it a "wild night" (via the blurb) is stretching it. Of course, you need to suspend some amount of disbelief because the brothers in question aren't identical twins and no matter how dark it may be in a room, you can kinda make out when the person in bed with you is someone else... but maybe that's just me. Hehe.
This novella gets three out of five stars from me! ^.^
It's weird but I've just finished this book but think I've read it before - some time ago! Anyway, it was a very enjoyable, easy read.
Olivia has been in love with her boss, David, for the three years she's worked for him. She's about to leave her job and finally taking matters into her own hands by making the first move and sneaking into his bedroom, while on a weekend company retreat.
Daniel knows that Olivia has always preferred his brother. He's into her but has been deterred by her cold, detached manner towards him, making him behave unfavourably where she's concerned. However, when opportunity presents itself with Olivia sneaking mistakenly into his bed, he can't help himself.
Their night of passion triggers more amorous encounters but when Olivia tries to move the goalposts, it raises questions about Daniel's trust and commitment to a proper relationship between them.
A great, short, sexy story with a satisfactory ending!
A nice read. If you're looking for a full length novel, you've come to the wrong place. If you're here for a short story, this book is a good option if you want something short and sweet. I liked Olivia in the beginning, but wasn't too fond of her near the end when she became all "I'll take what I can get". Girl, you should never have to settle. There were some cliches here and there, but that's no surprise for a short story romance novel.
I'd recommend this book for those who want a quick contemporary romance read with only a tiny bit of steamy sex (or at least tiny compared to some of the short erotic stories I've read). It's not the best short romance read out there, but it's interesting to read if you want to pass the time.
I loved this story! I loved how Olivia misjudged the brothers and which one was her ideal. I loved how her and Daniel resisted their feelings for each other, and I loved how David learned how his behavior affected his life, and those around him. I would've loved to have it be longer but there was a lot included in a short time. I didn't feel like it was rushed, though. It was actually perfect, I just wanted more hot Liv/Daniel lovin'! I really loved the subtle possibility of David and Tina, too. (hint! hint!) Terrific erotic novella!
Breah Elise, is quickly becoming one of my favorite new authors. Her books, are hot ans steamy and so good. I loved it. Get your copy today. Fair warning, your tablet may over heat. Lol
