Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Peppa, and George are off to the warm, sunny seaside. It’s too bad Goldie the goldfish can’t come along, but Granny Pig and Grandpa Pig will look after Peppa’s beloved pet. There’s lots to do on vacation — send postcards, have pizza for lunch, take a nature walk, and of course go to the beach. It’s a great vacation indeed, and Granny Pig and Grandpa Pig have taken very good care of Goldie. Maybe too good!

A beach vacation is well-known to Neo, as it was part of his recent out of town excursion. Peppa and George head to the seaside with their parents. There, they enjoy some time on the beach, though Peppa misses her pet goldfish. Biding her time, Peppa is able to enjoy some fun times away from the crazy city life, and even finds a small gift that she can take back with her. Neo hopes that our upcoming trip to the cabin is just as fun, though wants to make sure no crabs pinch his fingers. Check and CHECK, Mr. Neo!

So most of the Peppa vacation stuff is in here, but they add in pieces of other episodes...it seems a bit forced.

Our librarian was cleaning out and giving away some books to make room for new ones, and when I saw that this one featured Peppa Pig, I knew it needed a new home in my classroom. One of my students is a huge fan of Peppa, and the student instantly picked this one out to read today. We actually read it twice. My student loved following along with Peppa and her family's vacation adventures, including shopping, visiting a nature preserve, and going to the beach. Daddy Pig even falls in the pool. The plot is interesting, especially for fans of the show who are already familiar with the whole Pig family. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and well detailed. The plot is simple, yet interesting. I recommend this one of classroom libraries, parents and children to read together, and beginning readers.

I have seen this episode of Peppa Pig, so I loved this book. My mom tries to read it with a British accent and character voices. Even though this book is called the "great vacation," I know that Peppa really calls it going on "holiday," so that's what I call going on a vacation, too. When Peppa packs her suitcase, I like to tell my mom what I would pack. We have read this book many, many, many times.

We adore this book. I always read it in a British accent and do the voices from the show which my girls thoroughly enjoy. They adore Goldie, and when Daddy Pig falls in the pool. A nightly favorite - I only wish they called it going on Holiday!

This is great for kids that love Peppa Pig. It’s a great summer read, and if you are planning on going on vacation to the beach, this would be fun to read to your little ones!

Peppa Pig’s family is going on vacation to the beach. Peppa and her family do many activities while on vacation such as swimming in the pool, walking in the woods, picnicking and playing on the beach. They also find time to check on Peppa’s pet fish which Grandma and Grandpa Pig are watching. When they arrive home, Peppa is happy to see is pet fish and give it a postcard.
Fans of the Peppa Pig TV series will enjoy this story about one of their favorite characters. Digitally created illustrations are similar to the ones used in the shows. There is plenty of white space so as not to detract from the story. The story is simply written and will be enjoyed by the reader. The “peppa” text is easy to read and the short sentences make for an easy read. The story line is realistic and believable and could be used to introduce the youngster as to what to expect on a family vacation. This would make a great addition to any library. Recommended for preschool through kindergarten.
