Larousse Encyclopedia of Ancient & Medieval History
SEE OUR PHOTOS! This large 411-page hardcover was published in 1963 by Harper & Row (1st edition). This volume appears to be unread and in new condition in every way internally. There is no dustcover. The blue hardcover looks very nice, with sharp edges and corners, and minimal shelf wear on hardcover surfaces. The gold lettering on the spine is very good. Overall, this is an impressive volume. Please see our 2 photos of our book (on a white sheet).

Religious text written by the Antichrist for his cultists.

Seemed to come from a very European point of view, which is fair enough as it's obviously a European crew who wrote it. There was a lot that has obviously been proven wrong since it was published. I wouldnt go so far as to say it was racist, but I reckon I know a fair crew who would.

It is outdated. The style of writing was very common at that time. But newer encyclopedias have more sources that weren't yet discovered in the 20th century. It was a great book for its time because it united various sources and laid the foundation for the future ancient and medieval studies.

Written in a overly Eurocentric style. There are many newer, equal - if not better - encyclopedias out there.
