That was so DISAPPOINTING. On so many levels. In so many ways.

This is a short book, about 157 pages or so, and while I don't expect serious character development from that type of length, I do expect consistency and believability. I got NONE of those.
Insta-love. Definite case of insta-love between Reagan and Cole. They had a one nighter, something Reagan had never done before ( she's 27, he's 29 ). She vanishes before Cole wakes up, yet is furious he didn't try calling her...SAY WHAT?? YOU left HIM. That night, Reagan had the one night stand, was also her best friend Addison's bachelorette party. Little did Reagan know that the guy she shagged happened to be Addison's fiancées best man and cousin, Cole Conrad. *insert over-the-top-drama*.

So while Cole is trying to talk to Reagan, she is treating him like the scum who left her high and dry. Then she decides she wants him. Okay. STOP. Please start acting like the successful, mature attorney you are and stop being the shallow, double-standard pulling chick you're being.
Anywho, things progress with these two and soon after 2 and a half weeks, ILU's are being thrown around like rice at a wedding. I wished we were shown what a great catch Reagan was and not told. Cole used to be a playboy, but upon screwing Reagan, he's a changed man. Okay, I'll let that one go. But everyone, including Addison and her fiancée, Case, their family, Cole's family, love Reagan. Yet I never once figured out why. That has to be one of my biggest pet peeves. Telling me a character is the bomb doesn't make it so. Reagan was actually whiny, had a tragic self-serving attitude and often pissed me off. Yes, she suffered a loss 11 years ago, but I honestly believe she used it as a crutch, sometimes.

The other thing I couldn't get past was the writing. It needed some editing and words were often repeated several times within the same paragraph. This stunted the flow, which was already lacking a little so it made it all the more obvious. I also found this book on the cheesy side. It was so rainbows and unicorns at times without the background to account for it. And it's not because it's short. I've read other short books that I loved, even when they glossed over some things, because they were well written and compelling. I NEED to believe a character is a certain way, and being forced to accept an insta-love relationship when those two barely know each other doesn't jive with me. Being forced to accept that Reagan is the perfect girl and everyone loves her is fine, as long as it's backed up.
The funny thing was there came a point at about 20% where I contemplated DNF'ing it. People were saying things completely out of line, situations were arising that baffled me and I had had enough of Reagan. But I persevered because I actually liked Cole. He was the ONLY saving grace in this book. I think Reagan was the lucky one, not the other way around. A sequel to this in Cole's pov is due out, or maybe already released. But even with my love for him I'm skipping it, no thanks.

This story was about a very insecure, woman named Reagan who meets a mysterious guy while out for her BFF Addison's bachelorette party. They end up banging back at the hotel, his hotel. She never catches his name, because when she wakes up she high tails it out of there. No kiss goodbye, no note, no text. Then has the audacity to be pissed that he never calls. Say what? That was stupid of her.
The man she runs out on is Cole Conrad. Who happens to the best man in Addison's wedding to Casey. Cole is also cousins with Casey. When they realize this, Reagan had a freak out and gets mad at him. Luckily he sets her straight about bailing on a guy after sex. Reagan threw out so many mixed signals to Cole. She would be a bitch one minute then the next telling him she wants him. It was so annoying. She was kind of a head case. Of course these two were insta love and not in the cute and likeable way. Although, I have to say the way he "asks her out" is adorable.
There is a huge misunderstanding to which she over reacts (of course) and she bails. She's really good at just bailing. Cole is in an accident, so of course all is forgiven and they get an HEA.
OK, so you can tell its a misunderstanding from the start. How the hell did no one, NO ONE, set her straight. It wasn't even a big deal! Why not smack her in the face and say " look her bitch"?
Reagan was a flighty head case who over reacts and annoyed me. She didn't deserve a man who got her off in the car, then fell the fuck asleep. Uh, no. Wtf.
Also there isn't a valid reason why Reagan would close herself off to love.

One Night With Him is a brilliant debut novel by author K.S. Smith. From the get go there is excitement, humour, action and by action I mean, 15 plus drunk women at a bachelorette party dancing on tables and downing $500 bottles of patron like it is water.

Regan Larson had no choice other than to down her drinks and get extremely drunk because the bride to be is her best friend, sister from another mister, Addison and she demands everyone to be legless by the time her send off from singlehood is over. Regan didn't mind getting drunk, it would take her mind of her extremely busy maid of honour schedule and allow her to relax some before the big day of the wedding rolled around where she would be nothing other than a ball of stress, nerves and emotion.

The only down side to drunk Regan - that she can find - is that she turns into a outspoken, dirty talking, hussy. I personally think there nothing wrong with that but for straight laced Regan, she likes control and being drunk and not in her right mind leads to her doing things she wouldn't normally do, like extremely sexy men who find picking up her $2000 alcohol bill amusing and most definitely intriguing instead of shocked and pissed off.

Let me introduce Cole Conrad, a successful businessman, drop dead gorgeous millionaire and the soon to be star of many ladies dreams. I liked him from the start, he is a strong character, not an alpha male but he is definitely all man, his description is simply mind porn.

Regan and Cole meet at the bar of Addison's fathers nightclub where the bachelorette party is being held and after an amusing conversation, Regan foots him with her bill and bails leaving him staring after her speechless. Regan thinks she was witty and clever, thinking she would never see him again but fate has other plans because a few more drinks later and she finds herself in his hotel room then waking up in his bed. Like I said, she is straight laced and when she realises what happen she just cannot believe she had a one night stand with a man she knew nothing about, not even his name. Branding herself as a slut, she gathers her things and bails out on Cole without even saying goodbye.

She puts it all at the back of her mind, determined to focus on Addison's wedding instead of the beautiful stranger who rocked her world. Everything was fine and dandy until Regan comes face to face with said beautiful stranger...at the wedding rehearsals...standing next to Casey - Addison's fiancé -...because he is his best man.

Once Regan and Cole realise what is happening they are both pissed for different reasons. Regan is mad because he reminds her of what happened between them, reminds her that she lost control. She is beyond pissed that the mere sight of him makes her burn with need to touch him.

Cole is pissed for an entirely different reason, he is mad that Regan bailed on him without so much as a goodbye. Trusted he has done the early morning bail routine more than once himself with a number of women but now that its happened to him, he doesn't like it, not one bit. He was certain the he was happy in his bachelor lifestyle but he wants more, needs more. The fact that he is drawn to Regan like he has never been to a woman before seals his fate and hers.

He wants her and regardless if she wants a relationship or not he is going to fight for her.

Things between them were already complicated but throw in two eager best friends, over loads from work and a certain woman with her sights set on Cole and we have a party that Addison's bachelorette party couldn't even rival with!

I was so lucky, I won an arc of this book!
I really liked it. It's a sweet romance.

This book is about Reagan Larson who has a one night stand with a hot stranger...or at least she thinks it's a one night stand. But later she realizes this man will be a regular in her life.
I like Reagan so much, she is a strong, successful woman who doesn't fear to get what she wants!
Ahhh Cole...yes I like him, he's so sweet and so handsome, he is perfect!
I like how the author portrayed the other charaters - Cole's family, Reagan's friends. I really liked the relationship between the Reagan and her best friend Addison.
I have to say I've really enjoyed reading this book :)

**I am a BETA reader for this book and as such was provided a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review**

The characters developed well throughout the book. I tend to connect more with the male lead in a book; the ‘male mind’ just fascinates me. However, although I did connect with Cole I was surprised to find myself connecting strongly with Reagan. Nothing against how Cole was written it’s more that Reagan’s character just called to me more.

I love the interaction between the characters and I find this an important part of any book. The chemistry, friendship and overall emotions were clearly defined between them all. It’s difficult to connect with the characters if they can’t connect with each other. Ya know?

What I particularly like about this book, is that there is a good balance between inner monologue and character interaction. For me I don’t like books that spend more time inside a characters head than in the actual goings on in the ‘make believe’ world I’m trying to submerge myself into. If I wanted to psychoanalyse then I’d read psychology books.

Another plus for the book is that although there are some sex scenes, they don’t rule the book. Don’t get me wrong I love a good steamy book but it has to have a good storyline and the sex scenes need to be a by-product of the relationship between the characters and not the other way round. It’s more realistic that way.

I didn’t pick up on anything that seemed out of character for any of them, they were constant in the way they progressed through the book.

As for the flow and engagement, the book for me flowed effortlessly from scene to scene. Also the dialogue used was free flowing; it was as if I was witnessing the actual conversations take place between my own friends. As for engagement, just like Cole’s STATS responding to Reagan when she talking to him, my heart rate picked up quite a few times during the book. It pulled me in and I ended up reading the book in one setting.

The only feedback I have is what happened to Heather? Was she sacked or does she still work with Cole? I know the obvious answer is she was sacked but this is just an assumption, I feel this is an important part of the storyline to be left to assumption.

I had the honor of reading One Night With Him for the author, prior to editing. I truly expected it to be rough as concrete, it being in pre-edit stage, but it was truly amazing.

Raegan and Cole are perfect, fun loving, playful and frickin' steamy hot!!!! Raegan tries to resist their spark that is igniting, but the feeling is simply too strong. Flames erupt for Raegan and Cole. Sure, heartache flattens Raegan momentarily, but when tragedy strikes, she stands strong by her man, pulling him through when he needed her most.

Raegan is strong, witty and independent, but soft, sweet and seductive. Cole is such a romantic sweetheart, and awed so many times at his words. My favorite quote from Cole:

“it‟s been awhile since I‟ve laid my lips on her mouth and we‟ll to be quite honest with you, I wasn‟t going to give her a half ass kiss because I‟m cooped up in this damn bed. So that machine you‟re referring to is only screaming because that‟s what happens to my heart every time I kiss her.”

I fell in love with Raegan and Cole. K.S. Smith has created perfect characters, that jump off the page and into your heart and mind. She keeps the story alive with hot steamy sex, playful banter, and great friendships. I really hope that there is more to Raegan and Cole's story! This book is a wonderful debut for K.S. Smith, and certainly is a 5 star read!!!

I was given the honor of reading a BETA copy of One Night with Him by the new up and coming author K.S. Smith. I was truly excited for this opportunity at a sneak peak, as I had just recently found out that Ms. Smith had started this exciting journey.

She wastes no time at all pulling you into her story and placing you front and center of all the excitement. I loved the fact she kept it local, that made it all the more real for me.

I felt the character development flowed beautifully and their introductions into the story were flawless. She never missed a beat.

I giggled. I scoffed. I cried (literally had tears in my eyes). I was unable to remove the grin that was plastered on my face from ear to ear as my heart raced with Cole's words "(explicit) baby, you taste as good as sin".

All in all, I thought this was a great book. The characters are genuine. Reagan and Cole are perfect for one another and Addison is a hoot.

This leaves only one question for me... Heather was fired right?

Loved the start to this book, sucked me in on teh first page - Reagan is a fab best friend. The meeting with Cole and leaving him with a bill of $2000 for 5 beers was a laugh out loud moment!! After the initial first meeting and then meeting again unexpectedly at Addison's wedding, I was waiting for the "shoe" to fall and it did and then something I wasn't expecting fell as well...!!!!! I am glad Reagan put her head back in the game and got on with it, loved the HEA, really emotional. Reagan is independent, sweet and caring individual (with the tendency for panic attacks when feeling overwhelmed) and this was felt throughout the book, however I love to have both POV's in these types of stories and this was missing for Cole, there were so many times I needed to understand what was running through his head during situations - WTF with Heather!!! I understand there will be a second book coming out with his POV in 2014, but I so wished this had been included in this one and made the story "whole"! Great debut novel, looking forward to reading more!

THIS was a great love story without a bunch of drama. Reagan and Cole are simply yummy. They "meet" and then Reagan runs for the hills embarrassed by her actions. Well, as we all know, fate is funny thing with a twisted sense of humor, right? Finally they begin a steamy romance, everything is going great and then IT'S NOT! (I don't want to give too much away.) There is a bump (well, maybe a pot hole) in the road which leads into a traumatic event (yes, I even shed a tear or two) which totally caught me off guard. I loved how Reagan finally lets Cole explain his actions and the HEA that follows. So sweet.

Definite insta-love here. I don't like insta-love however, there are instances where it's actually believable (not in this case)

I think my biggest problem with this book is the character development. For example, I don't know how Reagan even looks, I found out 35% in that she has brown hair. I didn't even know she was a lawyer until a little after that. Little details like that were lacking.

I skimmed the last 35% of the book cuz the climax was just too cliche.

One night stand turned instant connection. This was a nice light read, which I needed after my last deep emotionally charged books that I am still feeling hungover from. Cole was a very delectable treat indeed. This was a delightful debut novel for K.S. Smith. The best part of the book for me was the beginning with the bachelorette party for her best friend Addison, where she meets Cole, her mysterious sex on a stick.

Reagan and her girlfriends set off on a night of debauchery at a V.I.P. room in a club for Addison's bachelorette party. When she goes down to the main club for some more alcohol, she runs into her sexy stranger. She instantly gets hot and bothered by him and it seems he has an interest in her as well. She tries to keep her distant and ends up deviously putting 4 bottles of $500 tequila on his tab. That will definitely leave a lasting impression he surely won't forget. Reagan and her gaggle of friends end up staying in the same hotel as mystery man...what a delightful coincidence. After she spends a wild sex filled night with him in his hotel suite, she wakes up in immediate distress and bolts out of there as if her hair is on fire...no ta ta or handshake good bye. A wham, bam, thank you ma'am if you will. He never calls or texts her afterwards, which makes her all huffy and puffy, despite her being the one to leave him high and dry.

Reagan continues to go about her life trying not to spend all her spare time thinking about Cole. The upcoming wedding of her friends Addison and Casey has been keeping her busy. She is tasked to pick up Casey's best man's (Colton) parents from the airport, who she's never met by the way. When they get to the reherseal dinner, she finally meets Colton, who's parents haven't been able to stop yapping about the whole trip from the airport. Well, well, well, guess who Colton ends up being? Yup you guessed it...Cole!

After reconnecting, they finally go out and start off their heated relationship. Cole is just such a charmer, that it is hard to believe that he is a reformed playboy. Reagan and Cole hit it off and kind of fell in insta-love. I have read many books where the characters fall in love quite quickly, so it's not that I am opposed to it. I just didn't feel a deep enough connection with the characters to make the insta-love feel realistic to me. The other thing that discouraged me from giving it a higher rating was the break-up after the misunderstanding/betrayal that was a bit predictable. Overly friendly assistant+hot stud+typical caught in a lip lock that was an obvious misunderstanding to everyone but Reagan= over dramatic bail that leads to crushing break up. These are just small hiccups, however, and can be easily over-looked in the bigger picture. Even though the inevitable reconnection of Reagan and Cole was brought on by Cole getting into a horrible accident, it was still a sweet heart melting reunion. It took the accident for her to finally listen to his explanation. Cole was so understanding of her feelings, and was just overwhelmingly happy to have her back in his life.

"Well, ma'am, you see that beautiful young lady over there," he nodded his head in my direction as I blushed, not even able to imagine what was going to come out of his mouth next, "it's been awhile since I've laid my lips on her mouth, and well to be quite honest with you, I wasn't going to give her a half ass kiss, because I'm cooped up in this damn bed. So that machine you're referring to is only screaming, because that's what happens to my heart every time I kiss her."- Cole

Despite the small mental hurtles I had to overcome, I still enjoyed this story, particularly Cole. I had such an overpowering need to do the girlfriend-slap-the hell-out if-it-and-open-your-eyes-smack down to Reagan. The story has a great reciepe, just perhaps needed some bolder favors to spice it up. I had no problem feeling the heat from Cole, however. Hawt and swoony...check and check! If you are looking for a light hot read, look no further. I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

So much promise. I'm sad that it didn't live up to the start of the book.

The beginning was awesome. I was completely hooked. It was funny with great banter. And it was even better when Reagan and Cole were bickering and fighting. I loved those parts. Unfortunately, things started speeding up and moving at a fast pace. It wasn't so bad when they admitted that they wanted each other. I was glad they didn't play games and spend half the book staying away from each other.

But after that, they were apart for two weeks with very little contact. That was followed by a three month time jump. Things just stopped working for me after that. There was a scene on the way out of town where Cole's driving and they start getting frisky in the car. Reagan ends up on his lap (while driving) and they're going at it. Now, aside from this being dangerous, how in the world is that possible?! The scene made is seem like it was all easy-peasy for her to end up in his lap and him driving. And while I've never sat in someone's lap while they drove, I've had to climb into the driver's side from the passenger's side because the driver's side door was frozen shut. And it wasn't easy, it was difficult and awkward. So I just didn't buy that it was so easy for him to pull her into his lap while he drove. But the real part that gave me problems was this quote:

“Fuck, baby, I’ve got to concentrate on the road or I’m going to kill us both.”
I leaned my head back, encouraging him to continue working my breasts. “What. A. Great. Way. To. Die.”

I realize that this book was written and released before his death, but it hit a little too close to Paul Walker's death for my comfort. It just put me off wanting to finish the story.

But, finish I did. And while it started with such promise, it took a detour and never got back on track for me.

But, I did enjoy the author's writing so I would definitely read another book by her.

Ok So I gotta say that I am madly in love With COLE! Love him Love him Love him!!! It all started at a bachelorette party.. Where drinks are flowing and girls going wild (sounds like fun!) and Regan going down to the bar to get more drinks, that is where she meets Colton Conrad ..A hottie looking for a drink but can't get the bartenders attention .."I'M IMPRESSED." "PARDON ME?" "IMPRESSIVE I'VE BEEN STANDING AT THIS BAR FOR OVER TWENTY MINUTES AND I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE BARTENDER, THEN OUT OF NOWHERE YOU RUN UP HERE WITH YOU TIGHT LITTLE ASS AND A SMILE THAT WOULD BRING DOWN A GROWN MAN TO HIS KNEES AND INSTANTLY YOU HAVE FOUR BOTTLES OF PATRON AND WATER WITHIN SECONDS." "I GUESS THOSE ARE THE PERKS OF HAVING A TIGHT ASS." I haven't mentioned that she calls him GQ? Well ya he's just that damn good looking! UGH! So what ends up happening? Well? SHE HAS A ONE NIGHT STAND WITH COLTON!! But of course she does the walk of shame .. now go forward mm..maybe a week.. and she meets Colton's parents.. (not knowing who their son is!) and she sees Cole, his mom of course wants them to meet.. I mean wedding time is "mating season" .. well that's what I call it.. (shhhh just hush.. I know what I'm saying!) so what happens when they see each other? Well of course there are pleasantries BUT Cole is just not that happy.. "MOM, STOP. I'M SURE REAGAN ISN'T INTERESTED IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH ANYONE, SHE'D PROBABLY RATHER GET WHAT SHE WANTS OUT OF A MAN AND LEAVE HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITHOUT ANY EXPLANTION."(OMG I WOULDA KILLED HIM! BUT HIS MAMA GETS HIM ;) "COLTON CONRAD, APOLOGIZE TO REAGAN, RIGHT THIS INSTANCE, I WILL NOT HAVE YOU BE SO RUDE." REAGAN'S RESPONSE? " NO WORRIES MRS. CONRAD, I'M SURE COLE IS REFERRING TO HIS OWN WAYS AS OPPOSED TO MINE. COLE, IT WAS A PLEASURE MEETING YOU, NOW IF YOU'LL BOTH EXCUSE ME." That is a good way to get back at him! Ugh men are such jerks sometimes! Jeez.. I love how Reagan kept Cole on his toes, they were so compatible to each other. Both successful, attractive people I want in on their relationship! ( Damn.. sorry stupid brain doesn't have a filter to my mouth!) If you wanna know how they fair out or if they last then ONE-CLICK THIS BOOK! It has A HEA AND it's perfect for all my Vanilla girls out there! ;)Great story line, touch of romance, touch of sadness, touch of heart break, Just the right amount of spice ;) Love the book I give it 5 stars! I was given an ARC in return for an honest review.

I really loved this book and was very impressed that this was her debut novel. This book showed that people can change and believing in and fighting for those that you love can get you through anything. I both laughed (I loved the relationship between the main character and her best friend) and cried. The author made you connect with the main character, Reagan, and you felt what she felt happiness, heartbreak, and love. The story had a great flow. Once I started I could not put it down.

Reagan is a contract attorney whose time for love. She lost her parents as a teenager and is afraid that if she loves again that she may lose them too. When things get serious she LOVES to run.
Cole is successful and owns his own company. He is a workaholic and is model HOT and known for his playboy ways. He has never found a woman who has made him want to stay and want more. That is until he met Reagan.

Reagan and Cole, GQ, meet while she is at her friend’s bachelorette party. There is an instant connection that leads to a one night stand. However, nothing is ever simple and Cole happens to be the best man in the same wedding that she is maid of honor.

Between meddling best friends and parents, Cole and Reagan are pushed together. Regan tries to fight him, but Cole is very persistent and wears her down. The sex is hot and there is just enough description given by the author. I love the playfulness and dialogs between Cole and Reagan; they really are a great match for each other. There are a few obstacles that stand in the way of their HEA, but they make it through and realize that they cannot be without one and another.

This is a must read and a fun romance. There is a HEA and no cliff hangers. At the end the author reveals that we will get a second book where we get Cole’s POV. I cannot wait to read Cole’s side and how he felt through it all. I will definitely be adding this author’s future work to my TBR lists.

Wow what an amazing book by a new author! I could not put it down at work, at home, in the car (at red lights of course ;) ). Sassy Reagan stole my heart immediately!

I am not one to enjoy these types of novels normally because the men seem to be controlling jerks and the women meek pushovers, but Regan and Cole were exactly the opposite. Reagan is strong, witty, stubborn, driven, and sexy. Cole is sweet, sensitive, loving, unbelievably sexy, and like every man screws up from time to time. He lets her be her and loves her for exactly who she is. The love between this couple is undeniable and the chemistry is OH SO HOT. The sexual tension from chapter 1 between these two characters is electrifying and the sex scenes will make you blush. The progression of the relationship is perfectly timed and will have you yearning for more from these two.

Addison is probably my favorite character in the book! She is hysterical, feisty, loyal, and exactly the kind of best friend every girl should have. The connection between Reagan and Addison is so endearing and easily relatable. K.S. Smith does a perfect job of showing these two are not only best friends, but sisters at heart. I want to read Casey and Addison's story!

Overall, I would give this book 6 stars if I could. It was a beautiful love story filled with steamy sex scenes and just the right amount of drama. I was mad. I was sad. I laughed. I cried. What a perfect rollercoaster! If I did not know this was K.S. Smith's first novel I would never have guessed because it was that good. I can't wait to read Cole's POV next and her many novel's to come. If the quality of this book is any indication, I have a feeling this author has a big future ahead of her.

Reagan is living up a night on the town at her best friends bachelorette party when she runs into GQ. At least that's what she calls the model worthy hunk. When she runs into him again at her hotel what happens is one drunk fun, crazy night, but when she wakes up in the morning horrified that for the first time in her 27 years she's had a one night stand she does what any girl would do she runs. When he doesn't call her she figures that he wasn't really interested anyways and tries to forget about him, until she finds out he's the best man for the wedding! Cole is a ladies man but with Reagan he wants something more the problem will be in convincing her.

I enjoyed the story line, but I wish there would have been more to it. More to their backstories about past relationships or one night stands in Cole's case. I loved the secondary characters seen throughout, but wish there would've been more to Reagan and Cole.

Ehhh...it was like reading a bad hallmark movie. Cole and Reagan meet at a bar and have a one night stand. No names are exchanged, she wakes up, freaks out and runs away. Cole ends up being the best man in her best friends wedding. All of a sudden they are in love....then it seems as if he cheats, weeks go by with her stewing and not allowing him to speak. When she finally decides to give him a chance to explain....he gets in an accident and falls into a coma. He wakes up, and they love each other again. Yuck. Cheesy, predictable, and all around craptastic.

I really enjoyed this book especially for a short short, something to pick up and read in between other books, which I have done and will continue to do.
characters draw you in straight away and you follow them through their own personal rollercoaster and you can't help but feel every emotion with them and am glad the story ended where you want it too.
Will definitely reread again and will recommend to all my friends

I really liked the storyline and the book itself, but there were a few things holding me back from giving it 4 stars like the speed of how they fall in love and some parts of the dialogs felt a bit too much. But nothing major just little things that I noticed but nothing that can't be fixed with time and more writing.

One really good book and a wonderful debut novel.

Oh no, no, no.... I can't even read any further! Running out once... strike one. Blaming him for everything... strike two. But running out when having dinner with his parents?!? Strike three. That hurt! I'm out!

Lindsay: This book started off awesome! I was laughing out loud and couldn't put it down.

Nikki: Me too! I mean come on! With an opening line of

“Shot! Shot! Shot!” The sound of fifteen women rang in my ears, as I grabbed the penis shaped shot glass off of the table and pressed it to my lips."

Nikki: How could you not be intrigued?!?!

Lindsay: I completely agree. That was a great start. And I loved the first interaction between Cole and Reagan. And I couldn't wait for them to get together. Even the wedding scenes delighted me. I loved the bickering between them.

Nikki: Absolutely! Even though Cole being the Best Man was so obvious, I couldn't wait to see that unfold! I just wish there'd been a little more frenemy going on before they fell into a relationship.

Lindsay: I completely agree with you. I loved the bantering and bickering between them. I wanted more of that and more of their friends trying to get them together.

Nikki: More bickering with the underlying sexual tension would have been fun [image error]

Lindsay: Again, I agree with you. Plus, once they got together, they were apart for 2 weeks then it jumped forward three months. So we barely got to see them together.

Nikki: Exactly! Which, unfortunately, leads us to the issues we had with this book.

Lindsay: *sigh* It's very unfortunate that there were issues seeing as it started off so good. I didn't like that Cole said "I love you" so soon. But it wasn't until this part that I completely lost interest:

“Fuck, baby, I’ve got to concentrate on the road or I’m going to kill us both.”
I leaned my head back, encouraging him to continue working my breasts. “What. A. Great. Way. To. Die.”

Lindsay: I realize that this was written before Paul Walker died, but with his death so recent in my mind, it just struck me as wrong and I was turned off.

Nikki: I agree! Even though the tragic death of PW had nothing to do with this book, I just didn't think that scene was realistic and it was the point where I started to lose interest.

Lindsay: I agree with you. When she went from the passenger's seat to his lap, I kept wondering how in the world that was possible. I've never tried to climb into a driver's lap while they were driving, but I've had to climb over into the driver's seat from the passenger's seat when my car door froze shut. It wasn't easy. It was awkward. And I just can't imagine doing that while someone was sitting there AND the car was moving.

Nikki: Overall, I think the idea was great and the concept could have been pulled off with flying colors if the relationship between Cole and Reagan hadn't been on fast forward. I mean, I'm never a fan of "love at first sight" but sometimes it can be done ok. Sadly, not the case here.

Lindsay: I agree with you. If we'd only see them together more than 2 nights before he said he loved her...

Nikki: Not to mention, Reagan was a runner....

Lindsay: OMG. I completely agree with you. There was one moment where she said that she wasn't going to run away again and it was the writing on the wall to me that it was going to be a constant theme.

Nikki: Even looking past all Reagan's running, and Cole's early ILU, the fact that it became so predictable was offsetting. Boy and Girl fall in love (too soon) and Girl sees Boy in compromising position and is mistaken but refuses to let him explain. Then Boy gets in horrific accident (this part sucked and had me since it was touch and go there for a bit on Cole's condition) but then all is forgiven automatically. I will say though that Cole was a decent guy and he did try to explain to Running Reagan and he tried and succeeded in making her Christmas super sweet!

Lindsay: I agree with you. I'm not a huge fan of stuff like that, but Cole was totally awesome. He tried to explain. But, in Reagan's defense, I wouldn't have reacted well either. And I probably wouldn't have listened to him right away either.

Nikki: Not right away, no. Especially seeing it firsthand. BUT, after weeks!?!?!?.

Lindsay: Um...Yes...even after weeks. You do remember that I'm the one that holds grudges right?

Nikki: Ok I'll give you that. Moving along... Aside from that, the book was just an ok read to me. I feel like I expected so much more from it with the awesome beginning and somewhere around 'too much unrealistic sex' and 'I Love You too soon' it fell a little short for me.

Lindsay: I would have to agree. I think the author has talent and amazing potential. I would be willing to check out her future work.

Nikki: I concur! [image error]
