This won't teach you HTML5 or CSS3 or responsive web design, but it will provide you with chunks of code you can later use in your own code recipes (hence the name: COOKBOOK).

I think this was a good 'general coverage' book, more so than a reference book.

As a 'cookbook' it does offer some good script examples and all the examples I tried worked... and more importantly solved the challenges I had. Good, solid, simple examples!

The author uses references to some popular frameworks as well, show how to perform the same task in each framework model... I like that format as it helps me see the changes needed to adapt to varying environments.

Packt continues to publish good books from good authors... never too deep, never too light, just enough to learn about the topic!
