[Siren Classic Erotic Alternative Fantasy Romance, M/M, HEA] When lightning strikes the road ahead of his limousine, CEO Nikos Papadakos has no idea that the hands of fate are about to change his life forever. Finding a naked man in the middle of the road is odd enough, but the horns and wings take things to a whole new level of crazy. Before he can discover if he's lost his mind or not, he's claimed by a creature that insists they are long lost soul mates. Yannis is a guardian gargoyle. It is his duty and honor to guard the Temple of Zeus. It is his heartache that he can't seem to find his Beloved. When he finds Nikos, Yannis gives in to his need to claim the man, not understanding until it's too late that the man he claims doesn't believe in the hands of fate--or soul mates. When the sisters of fate discover that sorcery has been used to keep two soul mates apart, they band together with other Gods of Olympus to bring the two men together, but those that fight to keep them apart won't stop until one of them is dead. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

What do I do ? I'm a writer of erotic, paranormal, werewolf, futuristic, contemporary, gay, and Ménage a Trois romances. I'm currently published with Siren Publishing, Torquere Press, and Noble Ellora's Cave.
Meh... I snagged this at a discount on the publishers site.
Siren is always a hit or miss with me, and even though I always l say I’m going to step away from mass producing authors... I always keep coming back.
Anyways this one started off really good. There were so many things I loved about... gargoyles, Greek mythology, time travel and cultural differences. There was even a stellar plot... that will be continued in the next book...
Unfortunately, like so many smutty books... all decent plot line goes down hill and is masked with lots of sex. I like sex... I like lots of sex... but I like plot just as much.
A bit too much with the "beloved" this and that. Not a fan of pet names and the insta-love-lust was a bit much. And I agree...can we get some of the other series finished before starting new ones?
1.5 stars ( + .5 a star for Althea) WARNING: Spoilers below as I typed them as I was reading
There are too many discrepancies and holes in the storyline.. Churning out a new series is bad enough (when there are multiple series still partially finished).. but if a new series has to happen, at least do some basic research and keep the facts straight.
1. The whole 'Beloved' is over done. 2. The story revolves around Greek Mythology and the main characters have Greek birth names. This makes sense for Yannis, as Syracuse at the time of his probable 'birth' was founded and held by the Corinthians..but it was eventually taken over by the Roman Empire. Doesn't make sense for Nikos to have a Greek name, seeing as in modern time Sicily is part of Italy. 3. The Greek God who rides his chariot across the night sky to bring the daylight is Helios NOT Apollo.. 4. It's strange how their communication goes from minimal understanding because of Nikos limited knowledge of Ancient Greek, to plenty of chit chat, including modern phrases, as the story progresses. (Way before it's noted that Nickos bought a language program for Yannis to learn) 5. A child of 10 from a wealthy family would not be left for the family housekeeper to raise 6. Italy uses the Metric System, so this would not have been said by the MC "the longest projectile shot recorded to date is over 2,707 yards long.” 7. 2,480+ years is way more than 'several centuries' 8. Nikos has to explain what a microwave is and they watch it heat his coffee,, then further down the page Yannis is thinking of all the wondrous things Nikos has shown him previously.. one of the items was microwave popcorn.. So why all the ohhh what is this device?! I haven't seen it before with regards to the coffee! 9. "As much as I don’t like having all of my antiquates in one place" Definition of 'antiquate' 1. to make obsolete or old-fashioned 2. to give an old or antique appearance to The author probably means antiquities, artifacts or antiquarian books. With the money Nikos has spent on his collection, 'antiquates' would be a joke.
This starts out with a brief with the sisters of fate and what they are doing, making life threads and such. Next we move into Nikos driving along and wham, there's Yannis.
This blurb is somewhat misleading. [When the sisters of fate discover that sorcery has been used to keep two soul mates apart, they band together with other Gods of Olympus to bring the two men together, but those that fight to keep them apart won’t stop until one of them is dead.] There is one more short mention of the sisters and a brief sideline of sorcery that's not explored (possibly in future book?)
Our first contact with Yannis is his unconscious body from lightening strike. Upon waking up or shortly after, he and Nikos do the dead but I didn't reel like Nikos went into it blindly even if his 'consent' would be questionable on the claiming. I also don't remember Nikos say that he doesn't believe in fate/soul mates but that he really didn't believe in gods. The next problem between them is misunderstanding of Yannis being part of the problem. [Yannis is a guardian gargoyle. It is his duty and honor to guard the Temple of Zeus. It is his heartache that he can't seem to find his Beloved. When he finds Nikos, Yannis gives in to his need to claim the man, not understanding until it’s too late that the man he claims doesn’t believe in the hands of fate—or soul mates.]
Moving on..Nikos buying up these statues, I really thought that would go a little somewhere in book one. Perhaps he inadvertently finds Yannis' brothers. There is no confirmation of that though. Then the 'mystery' behind the brotherhood and a prophesy is kind of weak to me. I agree that if the brotherhood had been around that long there should be SOME kind of mention of them over the years even if short. I think the story it worth exploring but the storyline needs to be reinforced to me.
2 star but thought I would go ahead and give it a 3.25 star rating. I felt... Hmm a little disappointed mainly thought there could of been more to the story, rather than just focusing on the MC's "sex" claiming. I really wanted more on the characters as individuals their backgrounds, the prophecy a little more on the brotherhood. Just a little bite more action. But Im hoping in the future series that it expands more than just on the sex. But all in all it was a decent read. Light and short.
The prologue sets up the how and why then we are thrown into the story along with the characters. We learn about who they are and where they have been as the story progresses. Some parts are a bit difficult to follow as Stormy tries to explain how things have happened but not enough to detract from the story. We are left with knowing it is the start of a series and wanting to know more.
