Forbidden Surrender

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

★★★★! Forbidden Surrender, book 1 of 3. A fast-paced, sexy feel good-read about a tattooed surfer turned self-made Billionaire in hot pursuit of his off-the-limits wealth manager!

“Some of the intensity left Vincent’s face and his mouth twisted into a boyish grin, but he never broke eye contact.”

Books in the Surrender series should be read in order:
Book 1: Forbidden Surrender
Book 2: Secret Surrender
Book 3: Beautiful Surrender

In Forbidden Surrender recent Harvard graduate and wealth manager Kristen Daley and her colleague have traveled to South Africa to pitch tattooed surfer turned self-made Billionaire Vincent Sorenson on their wealth management company investing his fortune.

Story then follows Vincent and Kristen as he zeroes in on her in a bit of insta-lust/insta-love while Kristen spends her time brushing him off and denying her attraction to her potential client, citing conflict of interest. The merry-go chase takes us from South Africa back to New York and beyond as they are both trying come to terms with their forbidden feelings. But when dark forces from Kristen’s past resurface will Vincent be the one running away?

 photo WestSurrender1-3HerobySueBee_zpsde92ecf4.jpg

Underneath the Armani suit we have a bit a bad boy with tattoos and piercings but mostly an honorable man. Vincent Sorenson came from nothing and possesses the drive to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Seven words to describe Vincent: Relentless, charming, noble, driven, thrill-seeker, reasonable and complex.

 photo WestSurrender1-3HeroinebySueBee_zps572b16b2.jpg

I had a harder time connecting with Kristen Daley, but the bottom line is; she is what Vincent wants and what is needed to keep the story and chase going. Seven words to describe Kristen: Smart, indecisive, stubborn, insecure, ambitious, predictable and endearing.

Forbidden Surrender ends a bit abruptly, but not worries as book 2, Secret Surrender is already available.

Fast-paced and entertaining, albeit predictable plot! Interesting and charming alpha hero! A quick, sexy and feel-good read!

“I raised a brow. “So you do listen.”
“When it involves your lips, you have my full attention.”

4 Mysteriously sexy stars!

description

Kristen has her own rule that she will not get in a relationship with a bad boy. Her last boyfriend was already a lot of trouble.
But that changes when she has to get a new account. She wants to be professional and not get involved with a client, also because that it’s forbidden, but Vincent is settled in getting her. And he even put the winning of his account on stake in order to get her.
And when Vincent, mysterious billionaire and sexy surfer, wants something he goes after it.
So Kristen finds herself in a situation that she doesn’t want or need… but that at the same time she doesn’t want to get out of.

description

I liked this story. I found this book too short and in need of a little more depth, but in overall it was pretty entertaining and well written.
Kristen was a good female protagonist, and I really liked Vincent. I couldn't get completely into him because he was very mysterious half of the time and I kept thinking that he had creepy second intentions. (Maybe he has, I need to read the next book!).
Anyway… this was a good reading and now I’m with the “bug” to keep reading these books and find out what happens.
Give it a try ;)

This is the story of Billionaire Bad Boy and very sexy, Vincent Sorenson. He's a surfer who's combined his love of extreme sports with his mechanical engineering knowledge and made lots of money!!

“What kind of guy do you think I am?”
“A dangerous one.”

He needs a wealth asset manager... Enter Kristen, intelligent Harvard Graduate trying to establish her professional career. Her employers WANT Vincent's business. But what and whom does Vincent want?

Kristen's last relationship didn't end well, she still carries the memories and they're not good ones.... She's not looking to open old wounds or go through heartache again. Will her past come back to cause her trouble??

She doesn’t do casual or date clients. He doesn’t usually do permanent; with his jets set lifestyle relationships are tricky. “I want my job more than I want you.” Really? Are you sure, Kristen?

Vincent has a seductive charm, it drips off him and he works his magic on Kristen, but where will it all end?

***

Sometimes things aren't perfect but I still liked
*Sometimes I felt the dialogue sounded a little unnatural. Less is more and the characters, every now and again, had a tendency to over-speak.

*I really would have liked a more impacted ending? It just seemed to fizzle out... But fortunately, as the next book is out, the continuation is there for the taking and I dived right in.....

The lovely feelings
I immediately warmed to the characters. She has a sassiness about her that I really like and I found myself melting over Vincent as his body image was revealed throughout the book. He. Is. Delicious and HOT!!

"I'd never experienced such brain-sizzling oral pleasure before." Lovely

Forbidden Surrender is a story that's been told many times, billionaire, hot guy meets girl, etc, etc but, I LOVE to read about this kind of story and this one was especially lovely and gorgeously romantic at times. A really nice light, quick read with lots of yummy sex.

♥ If you like reading about rich, HOT and successful men who know what they want and aren't afraid to go out there and get it, then you'll swoon over this story.

"It'll be fun.Don't you want to get an authentic experience? We didn't fly thousands of miles just to go to some bar we could go to back home.:
"Yeah, but we're two American girls in a foreign country. There are horror movies based on this situation."
"What's the worst thing that can happen?" Her grin made me ill at ease.
"Don't say that."
"Look,I have some mace in my bag.If anybody tries to get frisky with us,I'm going to melt their eyeballs."

Well this turned out to be much more interesting and serious than I've expected it to be.I loved the characters and I can't wait to find out more about them and their past.Loved the friendship between Riley and Kristen, let me tell you,Riley has no time for Kristen's shit.
“So when’s your date?” I had to work on being less obvious.
“Tomorrow.”
“Good. If you said there wasn’t a date I was going to smack you.”

Got to love Riley! And that dream...or should I say nightmare!? Oh my God,I hope that everything will be fine.Poor Kristen.
Already starting the next one! ☺

Vincent Sorenson is the sexy billionaire surfer who happens to make it big when he invented the waterproof camera to mount on his surf board. He also loves extreme sports and is always pushing the limits. He's now the CEO of his own company and is looking to investing his money.

Kristen Daley is a recent Harvard graduate who has teamed up with a co-worker and traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to meet with and convince Vincent to invest his money with their company. Kristen is a bit nervous, but is ready for the challenge, that is until they make eye contact. She stumbles and falls into him during their meeting while her co-worker does nothing but insult him. She leaves the meeting flustered by the feelings he invokes in her and not really knowing if they are going to get the account.

Later Kristen happens to run into Vincent in a local bar while out with her friend Riley. Vincent pushes her to help him win a bet by facing a fear of hers, spiders. Kristen really can’t say no because it could help her company win his business. Plus there’s the fact that she’s drawn to him too.

”Do all of your business transactions involve endangering your life?”

“Just the interesting ones.”

Vincent proposes to her that they mix a little business with pleasure, but Kristen makes it known that “she’s not that type of girl.” She doesn’t cross paths again with Vincent prior to their departure back to the States and they haven’t heard back from him as to whether or not their company got the job. This puts her on edge because she’s afraid that her rejecting his advances may have cost her company a chance at winning the job.

Then she hears from him. He offers her company the job, but with one condition added in…he will only work with her. Of course she says yes, telling herself that she’s going to keep things professional. But after they share a kiss, Vincent begins to pursue her. She finds that she can’t resist his charms and agrees to go out on one date with him.

I loved that he took her surfing. I've never been surfing even though I love the water, but I was really imagining myself out there with Vincent. It's a great way for her to see him in his element and to check out those nipple rings. He’s charming and sexy, but Kristen’s made it clear that she’s not going to sleep with him. However the sexual tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. He complies, but neither of them last long. We learn that Kristen’s last relationship ended badly; he was abusive. Now all of a sudden, he’s in town and looking for her. Can Vincent protect her? Even though she feels safe with Vincent, will her heart be? I smell trouble coming.

I enjoyed this quick little read. The instant attraction between Kristen and Vincent was felt through the pages. The book felt short, but it is part of a trilogy so I guess that is to be expected. Now I really want to know what happens next. I will just have to pick up book two, Secret Surrender to find out.

To Mrs. Priscilla West: I thank you for trusting me to write an honest review, in doing so I must DNF Forbidden Surrender....... God, I feel like such a turd .

To all my GR friends: If you are fan of chick-Lit PLEASE give the story a try. The reviews are more than favorable. The nipple piercing -Billionare- Surfer- Alpha Male - is YUM-O!. Unfortunately , I 'm not a fan of heroine's who listen to their brain rather than their vagina ....... Yes, I own it!.. I DID inform the author of my heroine hater tendencies BTW. Mrs. West still wanted to take a chance on me. How could I not agree? I have much respect for Author whom go in search of honest reviewers..

Too all my FSOG-ish type readers -----> GIIIIRRLLLLS, one-click this book ASAP.. The heroine has some funny moments and she DOES NOT have a fucking annoying inner goddess following her around. .... Oh yeah, and that billionaire I was talking about.. His name is Vincent and he's a HOTTIE!!!.

Well that was a quick and sexy read! I know this type of story has been written many times; sexy, hot, alpha billionaire guy meets beautiful, irresistible girl but I do enjoy these types of stories and Pricilla West did a great job with this one.

The two main characters in Forbidden Surrender are Vincent Sorenson and Kristen Daley. Not only was Vincent gorgeous and sexy, he had a bit of a different vibe about him. He wasn’t just a CEO of his own company, he is a surfer and a risk taker and I liked that. It didn’t hurt that he had tattoos and piercings either. :) Kristen was great too. Though she was smart, independent, was a wealth management analyst, she had a bit of a quirky side to herself that made her relatable

Forbidden Surrender begins with Kristen and her colleague in Cape Town, Africa meeting with Vincent to make a bid to get a contract to manage all his millions. Kristen has done her homework and knows what to expect but still her nerves on edge and her heart racing. Their first meeting is a bit awkward as most first meetings are and Kristen walks away uncertain whether they will get the contract or not. Now it was a waiting game.

 photo capetown_zpsa2f246c7.jpg

And as luck will have it Kristen and her friend Riley run into Vincent in a local bar. Kristen finds herself in a less then professional situation with Vincent but when their eyes lock, there is no denying the chemistry between these two. Vincent proposes a relationship of business and pleasure but Kristen thinks she has too much to risk and turns the offer down and heads back to New York.

Kristen returns home to await the decision from Vincent. When his decision is made, the contract is theirs but with a stipulation that Kristen will be his direct contact. Kristen knows she will only be able to resist Vincent for so long.

Vincent is a very persistent man and pursues her until she finally gives in to a date. What a date it was. He whisks her away on a private jet to St. Thomas for some surfing and fun. The sexual tension continues to build.

 photo stthomas_zps481941e5.jpg

Things between Kristen and Vincent quickly heat up. Their desire intensifies and Kristen’s ability to ignore her feelings becomes too difficult. When someone from Kristen’s past comes back, she is a bit rattled. All she can think about is being with Vincent. She felt safe around him and she needs to feel that again. Kristen is a bit vulnerable but she just can’t ignore her craving for Vincent any longer.

Will Vincent be able to protect her from her past? Will her heart be safe with him? On to Secret Surrender to find out.

3.5 stars!!

I never had much luck with books which feature an unattainable billionaire for a hero. I can only count with one hand the books where this trope worked for me. Fortunately, Priscilla West's Forbidden Surrender was one of those that worked for me.

First of all, the heroine here wasn't a doormat whose only accomplishment was landing the hero, in spite of being awkward and shy. Here, the heroine, Kristen is an accomplished wealth management analyst who met our hero, Vincent, when her company sent her to land Vincent as a client.

Vincent Sorenson is a billionaire. But he's not just run-of-the-mill billionaire. He's a surfer and an adrenaline junkie and he wants Kristen bad. He's got a reputation to go with his billions and a very busy lifestyle. Meaning, there's no room for a relationship in his life.

But when Kristen and Vincent got together, their chemistry was strong and their connection was undeniable. This book, being the first in the series, didn't really get in depth into each character. But we did know from reading this book that Kristen was in an abusive relationship before and that Vincent was determined to protect her from that.

The series is just warming up, so I'm really excited to read more of Kristen and Vincent's story.

Book one in the Forever series brings us Vincent and Kristen’s story. Kristen is working in wealth management and is eager to land the account of billionaire Vincent, but everything goes wrong during their initial meeting, but she seems to have made a lasting impression on the thrill seeker as he is bound and determined to turn business into pleasure.

The start of this was fun. I liked the initial encounter between these two, I love a first meet that stands out, and this certainly had that. The story is short, so you don’t get too much detail from either character as to what has caused their own personal hang ups but you do get a sense that Vincent isn’t this bad boy heart-breaker that you’re sort of led to believe.

Now I have to disclaim that this review is coming after finishing the series, so the praise I was originally holding onto, well that left me after finishing book three and now looking back at book one, well – so not over my feels on book three to really see book one the same way. So I can say my first impression was a 3.5 or so star read... same goes for book two. But because of book three (see review for details) the overall rating is a 1.5 at the most.

This put me on edge!! I loved!
Since the first page, that I couldn't stop reading... was addictive!
Is not an unusual story, but for me, It had something really different that made me keep going. If i forgot, while i was reading, the world, it means the book was it... my dream for the day! =)
You'll get to know Kristen,a beautiful and hard working girl, who is a great profissional in her job, one of the best, who is trying her shot, for an opportunity to grow in the company. She has a important client, that will define her ladder, or not.
That's when you meet Vincent... and OMG!!

"This is wrong."

"No, just a little dangerous."

As soon as he said "Dick"... I knew I would love him! haha :D
He's a CEO and billionaire, and for balance things... a surfer too! ;)
He'll be a very persistent person, but will reveal a really huge heart!
I loved all the sex scenes! I loved when he talked dirty... A LOT!!

Honestly, I didn't gave 5 stars because I needed more for this book. Was too short for me. I needed to know a little bit more before I went to the next book.
Besides that,I think it was wonderful, and like I said, Mrs. West was able to drag me to "their" world, in a blink of an eye. ;)

3 Alpha Rich Surfer Stars
An opportunity to read this came to my email and I grabbed a hold of it. I had seen the trilogy covers on NetGalley as most requested and thought I would give it a go....

What we had here was the uber rich, unconventional CEO and the meeting of a young woman who works in finance management. CEO needs guidance with his new found fortune and has reached out to the firm where she works to present their ideas for him. He has bids out with other firms as well.

There is a boss who is an arrogant idiot guiding this presentation; he underestimates our gal's abilities. When it looks like the proposal is about to tank, he throws it to our gal and she saves the day...by way of first tripping and landing halfway on the pierced nipple CEO. She gathers herself and proceeds to do everything right with the presentation.

During this time, sexy CEO is eyeing her and she is feeling it all over.
Needless to say, both are turned on.

This exchange between them is the start of the whole tale. It is a romance with the push pull of whether she can/should have any entanglement when she is his financial adviser. She holds him off but finally allows a date with him. He proves to be the itch for her ache and ends there.

Each character has their own secrets and they will be revealed at the right time.

I will say the tone of the sexy times is right on and for a leading book one of the series, it caught your attention.

If you like the Alpha, uber sexy man coupled with a woman who can push back a bit, then this series may be for you.

***I was provided a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley.com in exchange for honest feedback.***

This was a short, fast-paced introduction to the story of Kristen and Vincent. The two meet when Kristen is sent with her boos to woo the self-made billionaire, on behalf of the investment firm she works for. It seems that the only thing that Vincent is interested in is Kristen. Ultimately, he decides to do business with her firm, with the stipulation that she serves as his point of contact.

Initially, Vincent comes across as a manwhore that is only interested in the challenge of getting Kristen into bed. When that doesn't turn out to be as easy as he'd anticipated, he becomes even more appealing. He transitions from a playboy into a protective boyfriend in the blink of an eye.

This first book ends rather abruptly. However, I wasn't too surprised, having gone into this book knowing it was the first of many in the series. I will be jumping right into the next book right away, as I'm curious to see what the future has in store for these two, especially with Kristen's ex lurking in the shadows.

Overall, I found this to be a light, comical and entertaining read. It's predictable and similar to many other "girl meets billionaire" stories out there, but I found this one to be better than most in that sub-genre. I give it 3 stars!

Thank you NetGalley for providing a ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm just gonna make this a short review. It's an enjoyable, guilty-pleasure read. The romance is great, not really intense and a bit cliche. What's not to like a hot surfer CEO? Vincent Sorenson is a great male lead. He is persistent but not possessive. Such a sweet, caring, sexy guy.

As for the female lead, Kristen Daly , she's a sweetheart with a mysterious past. I'm actually curious about it but I need to see more of her story. Her character was a little flat to me. That's why I couldn't really feel much chemistry between them. I hope the next one will be more intense.

****4 Nipple Piercing Stars****

Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly didn't think I was going to like this book because the whole time I was saying to myself...

"Just give in and have sex with him"

"You know it's gonna happen anyway"

Did Kristen listen to me?  Nope --- had to drag the guy around by his balls and may I say they were BLUE by the time I got 95% into the book.

So, Kristen works as a Financial Analyst and travels with her boss to South Africa to help gain a client who is a surfer billionaire hottie....yup....that's VINCENT.

Vincent is instantly attracted to Kristen especially when she trips during the meeting and finds nipple rings and just has to squeeze his nipple!

Vincent tries everything to get into Kristen pants but she deflects him at every turn...until Vincent wants to meet to discuss the firm (no not his penis...you dirty minds).  He agrees to go with Kristen's company as long as she is the point contact.

So Vincent woo's her and agrees to go slow with the relationship.....until a past haunt of Kristen's comes back into her life.

Well you are just gonna have to read the book on your own to find out what happens....

I didn't actually love-love the book. For me it was your usual erotica novel. There were some technical errors here and there (like in a place she's wearing a skirt and in the next few lines it magically turns into a pair of jeans???) other than that it was ok. The usual hotness was there but nothing to pique my interest. The story line was a bit too fast for me. Also the characters weren't strong enough for me. The characterisation was a bit too weak for me. it was too short also. Other than that it would have been a lovely read.

Kristen Daley works for a wealth management firm and is hoping to rise through the ranks and landing this new client may just be her ticket; her boss and her have prepped what seems like night and day. To get Vincent Sorenson signed with them and it seems her boss had him pegged pretty well, he was dead on that this surfer turned Ceo and billionaire. Would take this meeting in shorts , a tee shirt and flip flops, their is no reason to believe the meeting will go south until it does. And her boss leaves her holding the bag, so Kristen picks up the proverbial bat and swings , that is until she trips straight into this sexy hunks chest and can not resist tweeting his nipple ring, what a way to send this meeting further south.
Stressed and dissapointed after their meeting she heads back to the hotel and her Bff to head out for some down time, hitting the beach, and the bars in South Africa . Fate intervenes and actually puts the very hot Vincent Sorenson in her path again, and then puts her I the middle of a very unconventional business meeting he is conducting at a bar no less, but her help earns her another shot at managing his wealth, but trying to avoid the overwhelming heat between them is getting harder .
A week later and back home in the states Vincent Sorenson is ready to sign on , but he has requirements, that Kristen be his wealth manager and to spite her resistance to the stipulation she agrees , it is either she manages his funds or they do not get his business, but guilt really rides her back when the deal is sealed with one hell of a hot , runaway kiss!

Working with Thus billionaire playboy is going to be challenging especially with the chemistry between them and his effect on her, meristem will finally give in and go on one date with him and boy. What a date ! I want a Vincent to fly me to St Thomas for the day! Kristen 's resistance is crumbling and when these two finally have sex, well off the charts but she still has fears of why he would even be intrested in her, what with all his traveling and the surf bunnies throwing themselves at him and now to add to that trouble from her past has come calling.
Kristen is surprised however that Vincent is supportive and protective when she thought her troubles would send him running. However Vincent is making it clear that he wants a relationship.
This is the first book in the trilogy and captured my interest so much that I had to read the remainder right away because frankly. I expected this relationship to go south and not because of Vincent , but because of Kristen to say her insecurities annoyed me just a bit!
Overall though , I was hooked and you probably will be too!

First Thoughts

Wow, wow, wow! This book was smokin' hot! I couldn't get enough! I read all three books back to back until late last night. When my boss asked me why I looked so tired today, I giggled and thought of Vincent Sorenson.

What I Enjoyed

Vincent Sorenson. Good lord. Surfin' CEO with a hot bod and nipple rings? Yes, please! His cockiness and arrogance had me swooning so hard every time he'd pursue and be turned down by Kristen.

Kristen Daley. Oh gosh, I pitied her! Poor girl never had a chance. I love how she tried to deny Vincent's advances for the sake of maintaining professionalism in her career, but it was only a matter of time before she dropped her panties.

Priscilla West's writing style. I always love it when an author's writing style is casual and flows well. This is true with Priscilla West. I never had to read a sentence twice. The words were those I use myself. The characters' dialogue was realistic. This made it so easy for me to breeze through the books which was a relief because I had already stayed up way too late on a work night reading them.

Memorable Quote

Here it comes, I thought. I tentatively obeyed, unsure what was coming. What was he going to feed me? The sound of a metal clink made me think of a belt buckle. Surely not...

"Wider."

I wasn't sure if I should have; I probably should've asked him what he was going to put in my mouth. Instead, my lips stretched wider, compelled by the authority in his voice.

"Be careful with your teeth. I don't want you biting me."

What? Before I could protest, something slowly entered my mouth and sat heavily on my tongue. It tasted sinfully sweet and creamy.

"Close."

Without needing to be told, my lips instinctively wrapped around it and tightened, suckling the decadent chocolate from his finger.

This is a New Adult Novel, and I liked it a lot actually. It was a quick read, so it did not have a well written, hard core, story (if that sounds right) but the concept was good.

I really like the characters, but honestly, I feel like the characters did not have much originality to them. Yes this was a quick read, but there was not much growth to the characters, if I say so myself. Hopefully the next book will allow me to see some type of growth or originality with the different characters

I originally gave this book a 3-3.5 but because of a couple different reasons I'll give this a 4-4.4 stars. I will recommend to readers and reviewers who need something quick to read, but was this my favorite? Sorry! But not that much.

I LOVED this book!! It is an intelligent (at last, hallelujah!) contemporary romance novel(la). (I'm not sure if its a Novel or a Novella at 202 pages.)

Kristin graduated from Harvard college and now works in Manhattan for a wealth management firm. Her boss is kinda sexist, and tells her to be the 'feminine allure' for a new youngish potential client, a former surfer turned entrepreneurial magnate with multiple homes in 3 continents, 20-some luxury cars, etc etc. Her appearance is not described, but she is very attractive, and always turned heads and got flirtatious attention in college, but since then she has been too busy to date and have a boyfriend. She's likable and normal, I thought. She's someone I would be friends with!

What I liked about the Hero, Vincent, was that he didn't have the ego of a gazillionaire, he retained the casual attire and attitude of an everyday kind of guy. He has tattoos and nipple rings and is admittedly a thrill-seeker in his recreation and, its implied, in business.

Kristin travels (along with her roommate) to South Africa for a business meeting with her boss to meet Vincent for the first time. The attraction between Kristin and Vincent is kinda instantaneous, and she gets sopping wet (uh huh, down there)! (That first meeting kinda bugged me--do women fall in lust SO quickly? Isn't that the equivalent of a hard-on in a man? Generally I think women don't fall in lust instantaneously, they have to LIKE the man or RESPECT him or something before they feel this HOT for him...just sayin'...). I suppose she could already have been infatuated with him after all the hours she spent with the preparation of their investment materials for him, however.

He eventually agrees to invest with their firm, on the condition that Kristin is his only point of contact. This creates a conflict for Kristin, as she hesitates to mix business and pleasure, and Vincent has made a move on her and told her that he wants her. Then they date in NYC.

When they finally hit the sheets, its hot and erotic!! Only one scene is described in detail, the second episode of lovemaking is abruptly described. One thing that was jarring was the use of the word c**t, I would have preferred the term p**sy.

Some danger and uncertainty arrives in the form of an

It ends a bit abruptly but that's because this is the first in a trilogy. I would have preferred to have all 3 books bundled together, but I understand that readers don't want to commit to a large(r) expense unless they love it, so thus the shorter length of the first installment.

Anyway, I cannot stop myself from reading the other books in this series!! I'm really happy to say I loved this story. I like this author and her writing style. There are a few things that could have been improved but since this was an ARC hopefully these problem areas will be edited.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

***Minor spoilers***

This book features a bit of an office romance which involved Kristen and CEO of another company, Vincent Sorenson. When Kristen gives her sales pitch in order to attempt to make a partnership between the company she works for and Vincent's company, she literally falls into his lap. Vincent is intrigued and is determined to learn more about her and take her out on a date. Kristen seems to think that she cares about her job more than she cares about him, but she's easily proven wrong.

I thought this book was an okay romance that had good elements and also needed some work. What I liked was the story itself and how it played out, and the relationship between Kristen and her friend Riley. There were, however, a lot of things that I thought were not that great and needed to be improved.

The dialogue felt really unnatural, as I mention in most of my reviews. I just find it harder to enjoy a book when the way they're talking to each other sounds too stiff. The characters just seemed to speak more than they needed to, inserting random explanations when they are already implied. It didn't take away all that much for me but it was pretty noticeable.

Kristen's character felt quite dull to me, and it may have been due to not getting much time to get to know her. This book was quite short and also ended quite abruptly, so I didn't get much of a chance to connect with the characters. I think one of the bigger issues I have with the book is that I didn't feel that it had a true ending, it just... ended. I was a bit confused and wondered if I had the whole thing. I suppose it doesn't matter too much since the second book is available on Netgalley anyway.

Overall, I thought this book was okay. It had its good elements and its not so good elements, but I ended up enjoying it a decent amount. I know a lot of people really enjoyed the romance, and I may have enjoyed it more if I had more time to learn about the two characters involved. If you're interested in this book, it's available on Netgalley without request. If you're in a romance mood, you may enjoy it!

I’m not going to say I loved the characters, but I still enjoyed them! Kristen is a likable character. I liked her little mystery side, so I’m very curious to find more about her past in the next books.

"You're everything I expected and more."

Vincent is OH SO HOT! I loved how Vincent changed a little though the book. He was so sweet and caring, but still sexy and kind of bossy (in a nice way). He made me smile a few times too. He’s kind of perfect… oh what the hell, he IS perfect. Oh man, I think I’m in love…. By the way: I think I’m starting to like nipple piercings… oh god…

“I raised a brow. “So you do listen.”
“When it involves your lips, you have my full attention.”

But put Kristen and Vincent in the same room alone and you have fireworks! HOT fireworks! (The desert-scene was SUPER hot by the way ohmygod) Their attraction to each other is sensible through the pages thanks to Priscilla amazing writing. I’ve only read Reckless and Fearless, and although I liked her writing in those two books, I preferred it a lot in this one. The book is very easy and quick to read. A little short, but there are two other books, so I don’t really mind. I’m definitely started the second one immediately!

“He was something in between. Steadfast in pursuit but adaptable. Charming yet respectful. In other words, complex.”

This is a wonderfully written book. Vincent is a surfer boy turned business man who fools everyone with his laid back ways. Behind this facade is a kind, mischievous but caring and shrewd business man. he wants Kristen the minute she falls in his lap. I mean that literally too.

thank serendipity plays a part in their next meeting and Vincent sees just how strong and determined Kristen is. This makes vincent desire to get to know her more. As the attraction strengthens so does the resolve Kristen has to keep her distance and keep it just business.

Vincent brings her on this date that is so amazing you will ahh...He texts her and listens to her as well. The perfect kind of guy. Kristen is afraid of this though and when things are looking good her past strikes. Except the kind sweet Vincent doesn't react the way that Kristen thinks he would. Instead of disgust, Vincent shows kindness and a fierce protection of Kristen. The feelings vincent has for Kristen sneak up on him and make him want a relationship which surprises Kristen.

A story of beauty and patience. Once of learning to trust and love and see that people are more than they seem. A nice read with some sensual parts as well that will make you melt.

This is the introduction of Kristen & Vincent's story. Liked the development of characters. Disturbing thought, an abused woman wanting to take her new relationship with, Vincent, slowly but once her ex-appears @ her door, she decides to go to Vincent for protection. Will see if this was the correct decision.

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

When Kristen Daley meets Vincent Sorensen, she certainly gets more than what she bargained for. Kristen is a financial analyst trying to secure Vincent, a billionaire entrepreneur, as the newest client for the firm she works for. It will be a huge step for her career. She has researched everything she can about him and his company. He is a tattooed surfer who turned his love of extreme sports into a billion dollar company. She could never have predicted the physical effect he would have on her. She is immediately attracted to him and she can tell he feels the same way. She is reluctant to get involved with him for personal as well as professional reasons. However her resistance will only last for so long. She has been hurt in the past and does not want to jeopardize her career for some man.

In a genre that certainly is being done more and more, Ms. West manages to keep things fresh, original and exciting. Yes, Vincent is wealthy and a bit of a bad boy, but his attitude is refreshing. He is not a complete dominant alpha male, nor does he feel the need to know Kristen’s every move. Yes he is protective and definitely pursues her hard but he is not overbearing or controlling. Kristen is also not our typical damsel in distress type either. Yes she does have a past that comes back to haunt her, but she is not helpless.

The chemistry between these two is hot hot hot! Kristen has an uncontrollable physical reaction to Vincent when he is around. He feels the same way about her. For a man who could clearly have any woman, this is absolutely about more than sex for him. The sex scenes are great and manage to not be repetitive. They spend a lot of time apart so when they are able to be together things get hot. Fast.

I read all three novellas as if they were one book. I cannot say that I liked a certain one better than the rest. There is also a great story line written in between all the smoking hot love scenes. Kristen and Vincent do spend a lot of time apart so there are some misunderstandings but this really only fuel their desires for each other.

My only issue with the series was that the ending seemed a bit rushed. I felt that there could have been another book or at least a few more chapters added on.

4.5 stars for the series as a whole

"He shifted his legs closer to mine and in that moment, I could swear the alcohol must've reached my brain because all I could think about was the image of him ripping off those slacks in front of me like a male stripper."
Lately I've been wanting to read something alittle bit more risquè. Something that would take me away from the world of the cheese puff in charge. And this was a great escape.
I felt that I traveled back to the world of another series, Beautiful Bastard. It had a lot of similar plot lines, but this was written a lot better. The characters were more developed and a hell of a lot more lovable with a twist in between.
Kristen is slowly climbing her way to the top at the wealth management fund for Waterbridge-Howser.
Richard (her boss) and herself are in Cape Town to try to win the business of a billionaire who invented a waterproof camer to hook up to a surf board. They spent months preparing for this day. What could go wrong?
Kristens first impresson of Billionaire playboy Vincent Sorenson sends her tripping over herself and into the lap of Vincent. He sure isn't complaining. The way her boss is condescending, makes Vincent not want to do business with that company. But there is something about Kristen that pulls him back in. She's smart, does her job extremely well and she's gorgeous.
Thinking that they blew their chances, her best friend who came along for the trip talks her into going out and enjoying the bar life. Upon entering the bar, a loud commotion is going on and Vincent is the center of it. Vincent, the sexy billionaire with the perfect body and a gaze to die for. Their eyes meet and hearts explode with lust. It's better to not mix business with pleasure, but sometimes you have to take risks.
With a new forbidden romance blooming, a dark secret from Kristens past comes up to stalk her into alarming security. Can she let go of her past and enjoy what is in front of her?
Secrets only hurt the people keeping them.
I really enjoyed this one. I've not read a lot of these types of books, but I think I'm addicted now. (Thanks, Fishy) They create the escape from the real world and let you dream of how you want love to turn out. Maybe just for a night. The end is what really got me, the peak of something disturbing and it ends. I went right online and bought book two. It needs to hurry it up and get here already.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Forbidden Surrender is a contemporary erotic story featuring Kristen, a junior marketing associate, trying to land an account with dare devil millionaire Vincent Sorenson. Her company flies her and a colleague to South Africa to woe him in person; for Kristen, it's the opportunity of her career. She's prepped for more than a month, has detailed charts ready to go, and has practiced her sales pitch dozens of times. Then she steps into Vincent's office and her instant attraction to him literally knocks her off her feet and into his arms. Of course, he returns her regard and the ethical dance between mixing business with pleasure begins.

I enjoyed bad boy Vincent's character quite a bit. Who doesn't love a man that plays drinking games involving black widow spiders? Add intelligence and a killer sense of humor to the mix, and you have one hunky hero. Unfortunately I struggled to feel invested in the main character, Kristen. Though the story is told first person from her perspective, she lacks depth and is very much a cookie cutter heroine: mid-twenties, irresistibly beautiful, and has the standard ambiguous dark past. However such a blank slate of a character works well in the erotica genre; readers can slip into the protagonist's shoes and pretend the hero's heated kisses are trailing down their necks. The ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, not a true resolution in any way, but Forbidden Surrender is the first installment in a serial novel so the lack of conclusion can be forgiven.

Overall, Priscilla West's Forbidden Surrender is a steamy, quick read offering an hour or two of pleasant escape. Three and a half stars.

I am a sucker for the billionaire bags ordinary girl with secrets, so was delighted to receive an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Kristen Daly worked for Waterbridge-Howser, a prestigious wealth management company. She was part of the team sent out to Cape Town, SA to pitch for a potentially lucrative client. Kristen had assembled most of the presentation herself, but was due to sit on the sidelines whilst her boss lead the pitch. Little did she know that the client they were aiming for, CEO of Sandworks and bad boy billionaire Vincent Sorenson, would become such a significant part of her life very quickly.

Vincent had the charm, the looks, the edge that suited the business he mastered. He led an extreme sports company, which had developed from his natural love of the adrenaline rush. It was extremely successful, hence the need for a wealth management company. Once Vincent set eyes on Kristen, they were rooted and he then proceeded to manipulate her and the company’s contract to his end.

The chemistry between Kristen and Vincent was electrifying, and Vincent pursued her relentlessly. I enjoyed their flirtations, their banter, but did feel their characters were a little underdeveloped. We learnt a little about both of them; 3 questions deep! I enjoyed the story, even if it was formulaic, but was disappointed at the abrupt ending. No cliffy...it just stopped.

Onto the next one post-haste...

West took a done to death genre and gave it a new twist to create something fully her own. Her smooth yet captivating writing combines with her interesting descriptions to paint a picture of the various scenes for the audience. There were definitely a few ‘holy hell Hannah’ moments in this one. These were always perfectly placed to draw you further into a scene or to make you realise how intense these two characters were with regards to each other.

The two main characters in this novel were quite well developed. You get to know them well as individuals. They never become one of ‘those couples’ who are indistinguishable as individuals. It’s quite refreshing. Considering the short length of this story the supporting cast was also adequately developed.

Overall, I quite enjoyed the story. There was a unique amount of compromise in the relationship between the two characters, with each coming out on top at the end. But I definitely have to wonder about the ending. It’s a ‘what happens now’ moment. It’s one of those cliff-hangers that just leaves you sitting there for a moment wondering where the ending went. Without this, I would have definitely considered a 5 star rating for this novella.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Ummmm, I'm really trying to figure out how I feel about this story....I didn't hate, but I didn't love it either. :/

Kristen and her boss Richard fly to South Africa to try to land the client of a lifetime. The pitch doesn't go as smoothly as they predicted, leaving Kristen sure Vincent Sorenson will never choose her company. So she goes out with her bff who tagged along for a night out to let off some steam. Of course, they run into Vincent, and he starts to push for a more personal relationship. Kristen doesn't want to risk anything jeopardizing her career so refuses, but soon discovers Vincent doesn't give up that easy.

"As you advisor, I recommend you hang up the phone, then with that same hand pleasure yourself until your arm goes numb or you're satisfied-whichever comes first. Once you've finished, you'll have forgotten all about me."

The story really does have the potential to be a good read and I'm going to continue with the series. I think my biggest complaint is Kristen. She is not my favorite heroine. Vincent seems hot and persistant, but at one point I was just so done with Kristen I wondered what he actually saw in her. It also seemed like right when the story was finally getting started, it ended. :/
