Story of Ava and Jasper captivated me from the beginning. Incredibly sexy, romantic and passionate, I Surrender, first installment in Monica James’ Trilogy was fantastic read, and I sincerely couldn’t wait to get more of it. So imagine my giddiness when I finally dove into Surrender To Me. Full of hope, guesses and through constant fan girling I locked myself in my room and started to dream, er… read about me and Jasper Ava and Jasper.

Yet, my anticipation didn’t get me totally ready for this roller coaster of crazy feelings, Monica James has driven me into. I was speechless, I was angry, I swooned, I was turn on, and yet again I was pissed off. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t feel or think anything. Surrender to Me swallowed me whole.

image

Six months have passed since Ava took off to Singapore. Things have dramatically changed as well as she. The Ava I met in I Surrender vanished. Now she’s heartbroken and vunarable. She’s still in love with the man that rocked her world and then… nothing was ever the same again.

Now, she’s coming back to Los Angeles for Veronica’s wedding. Happy for her friend and scared for what the future will bring for her, Ava is nervous. Fear of seeing Jasper again is a constant reminder of what she lost and stabs her heart every time sexy POE singer is near her.

Can they work on their issues to celebrate their best friends wedding? Can they let go of pain, hate and love for each other?

I love, love Jasper. He’s the man of my heart. Surrender To Me was his show. He rocked it! Amazing man. Sigh. I fell for him even harder this time. The things he’s said…. I’m still shivering when I think of them.

“You’ve ruined me for anyone else, so you’re stuck with me.” ~ Jasper

“You run away from me again, and I promise you, I will find you. I will chase you down and I won’t stop until you’re mine.” ~ Jasper

image

But as much as I adored him, my fondness of Ava ended. She really pissed me off so many times with her childish behavior, I thought I couldn’t handle her more. She was so frustraiting. I really hope she will pick up her big girl panties and use her brain few times more. Her naivety and recklessness rubbed me the wrong way.

image

Besides that, I enjoyed reading Surrender To Me. It was nice follow up to first installment of I Surrender Trilogy. Sensual, passionate and full of swoon worthy moments read that definitely was worth my time.

“I want you, Ava. Just you. Please trust me.” ~ Jasper

“Surrender to me.” ~ Jasper
“I surrender.” ~ Ava

It’s about god damn time, I FINALLY have the advance reader’s copy of Surrender to Me. All this waiting was killing me slowly by the minute...NO! By the second! And with all the teasers Monica posted definitely wasn’t helping with my anxiety to know what will happen to Jasper and Ava. When Monica notify me it was delivered to my inbox, I was out shopping with my daughter, Evie and yes, a total coincidence, her name was featured in this book (Page 269), how bizarre, right? Anyway, back to out shopping with Evie, I told her, honey, shopping’s done whether we like it or not because there’s a book calling mommy’s name and we have to go home, pronto. Evie said sure mom, let’s go, you bought all that I needed already anyway so home we rush back to.

Since I wasn’t able to download the book to my Kindle and read it in the comfort of my bed, I had to suck it up, sit in front of my iMac and read. Can you imagine sitting in front of a computer for 7 hrs reading and proofread at the same time? Only Jasper can make me do the unthinkable. The most amazing part is I did not sleep a wink, I was devastated I couldn’t finish it and had to stop to go to work. Came home from work, took a half hr nap and continued reading. I devoured the book in less than 24 hrs. Who’s the 1st one to finish? Damn straight, ME!!!

OH-EM-GEE!!!!!! Did I like the book? Hell NO! I fucking LOVE it!!! Though I must admit I was about to fly to Australia to kill Monica at the beginning of the book but I took lots of deep breaths and try to calm myself down and continue reading. I told her I still love her...but barely. You think I Surrender blew your mind? You’re going to fucking explode with Surrender to Me. It is simply AH-MAZ-ZING!!! Truly FA-BU-LOUS!!! A master storyteller, Monica James.

For those who read I Surrender, already knew what happened at the end. Like I said in my I Surrender review, it wasn’t a cliffhanger per se, more like an anticipation what the future holds for Jasper and Ava. Ava left Los Angeles and Jasper behind, went back to Singapore on a scholarship from the Culinary Institute of America for one year to further excel her culinary skills as a chef in the culinary industry. She wants to better herself for Jasper. Even though the HEA was bittersweet, I still consider them a couple who loves each other dearly and even with the long distance, they will try their best to make it work, nothing will come between them, not even Harper, the dipshit. They have to, I refuse to think otherwise. We all wanted to know if their love was enough to withstand the long distance relationship, right? So here we are at book 2 of the I Surrender Trilogy.

“You’ve ruined me for anyone else, so you’re stuck with me.” ~ Jasper

I like how Monica always begins her book with the flight attendant announcement over the intercom. This makes me smile because I travel enough to remember this very well.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, the Captain has turned off the Fasten Seat Belt sign, you may now move around the cabin.”

The book begin with Ava coming back to Los Angeles but it’s not for good, let me tell ya. That was my thought actually when I first read it. Wow, a year already, that went by fast, this I can deal cause finally Jasper and Ava together for good right? Oh Nooooooo!!! It’s only been six months. She came back for her best friend Veronica Donovan’s wedding. The groom is Lucas. Remember him? The drummer from Passengers of Ego? Being V’s BFF and the Maid of Honor, she jumped on the first available flight to come help her plan her Big Day even if this means interrupting school. Aww...such a good friend. I adore their friendship. So since Jasper is Lucas’ BFF, guess who’s the Best Man?

I already fell in love with Jasper in I Surrender but he made me love him even more in this book. How is that possible, you ask? Well...this is Jasper we are talking about after all and you also need to read to see exactly why. He completely melts my heart and takes my breath away with his beautiful and thoughtful soul.

“I want you, Ava. Just you. Please trust me.” ~ Jasper

“Because the few times I got to speak to you, I didn’t want to waste my time talking about her. The only thing that’s important to me is you. Everyone else can go to hell.” ~ Jasper

“What do you want me to do? If you want Indie out of my life, fine, consider it done! If you want me to talk to my mom and tell her to never see Indie ever again, fine! You want me to stop talking to harmony, fine! You want me to stop talking to every girl I have ever met, or will meet, fine! Ava fine! I will do all of that because I fucking love you!” ~ Jasper

“My heart is yours. It beats for no one but you. Do you hear me? Only you.” ~ Jasper

When I got to line 63, I went HUH? Yes, I counted the lines. I went OH-KAY...continue reading then stopped at line 68 and went O_O?!?! This makes no sense. Reading further and when I came to lines 80-82, I went “WHAT THE FUCK??????????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MONICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! What did you do?!?! This can’t be happening! This can't be happening! No way in hell!” I kept rereading the lines over and over again. It’s definitely what I’m reading, no mistake cause no matter how many times I blink to refresh my eyes, the words stayed the same. I felt like someone just whack me in the head with a baseball bat, not that I had that experience but if it did, that’s exactly how I felt. Oh! I was seeing RED, CRIMSON RED! I Facebooked Monica and told her I was going to kill her. This is the whole post:

Monica: LOL lol oops!!!
Me: Yes! Monica, u r in deep shit!!!!
Monica: You still love me right? lol
Me: I will try

No point being upset with Monica, I’ll deal with her later. I’ll keep reading so she can redeem herself, hopefully. Keep reading it is, can’t stop at line 82 because of a WTF situation, silly.

“You run away from me again, and I promise you, I will find you. I will chase you down and I won’t stop until you’re mine.” ~ Jasper

As I continue reading, I understood why the plot’s the way it is. Monica is fucking BRILLIANT!! You know how some stories are very predictable? This is quite on the contrary. It will not just blow your mind. Instead, it will fucking explode in your face, KABOOM!! The whole book is the plot so I can’t tell you anymore than I should. But what I can tell you is just prepare yourself for the most amazing roller coaster ride of your entire reading existence. This is one ride with Jasper and Ava that you do not want to miss out on. There’s definitely no lack of large amount of emotional outbursts, laughters, sentimental confessions, sexual tension, mind blowing sex and all kinds of frustrations. There is a HEA and another cliffhanger off course. But...this is a good cliffhanger, not the kind you want to kill the author for. I PROMISE!!

Surrender to Me release date is October 21st, 2013. Make sure you mark your calendar, request days off, don’t make any major plans, get a babysitter, do whatever you need to do cause you will definitely want to lock yourself away from the world while you devour this book like I did.

6 stars!!!! This is not your happy little love story. This is as real as it gets. There's heartbreak, there's problems and issues that need to be dealt with, emotions that are completely true to life. It will leave you guessing the entire time you are reading, just wondering how everything is actually going to pan out. And I'll say it again, everything you think, just throw it right out the window, because this is not what you were expecting.. it's better.

Surrender to Me is book 2 of the series.

I waited on the edge of my seat for book 2 to come out.  It did not disappoint.  Jasper is still totally swoon-worthy. Harper is still a dick.  Ava is still lost.  Indie and Jasper’s mom are still bitches.  Harmony is iffy.  V is still the most awesome chica ever.

This book begins with Ava coming back to LA for V's wedding after being gone 6 months.  So many things have changed since the ending of book 1.  The story takes us through the changes and the dramas before and after her return to Los Angeles.

OK let’s back up…
This is me at the end of book 1 when Ava flies to Singapore leaving Jasper behind in LA.

This is how I looked from July 30, 2013 (the day after book one came out) until October 20, 2013 the day book 2 came out.

Immediately after I began Surrender to Me, when I find out Ava is back with that dirty dog Harper

Next, finding out what lead up to this point in the story — feeling sad

Then, if I could just get them to at least talk to each other — feeling hopeful

Later, possibly the cold war is over? — feeling love

Nearing the end, feeling murderous, bleepin bleepin bleep bleep bleeeeep — feeling angry

Finished, so much is right, so much is wrong, so many answers I need...

When is book 3 out?!

The finale was great, but with those huge surprises near the climax of book 2, my mind is going crazy with conspiracy theories.  I see several snakes in the grass for Ava and Jasper’s future.

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Something told me this would be a FIVE star read. I knew it the moment I read the synopsis. Monica James you were always a favorite author of mine, but now you are on the ‘buy anything she writes’ shelf!

This book gave me chills. It gave me all the FEELS. Every time Jasper spoke, it was with conviction, and it made me fall for him more and more each time. The book picks up at a point where I was least expecting. Things were definitely different than the last time we left Jasper and Ava. Oh and jerkface, Harper is back. In ways you wouldn’t believe!

The minute Jasper and Ava are reunited you feel everything: anger, disgust, passion, but most of all love. Despite the circumstances Jasper and Ava are still very much in love with each other. If you think you know what is going to happen in Surrender To Me, you are highly mistaken. The things that occur in this story will make you back track in your reading and leave you with your mouth wide open. Yes, Monica James goes there! Her writing is flawless and exciting.

“My heart is yours. It beats for no one but you. Do you hear me? Only you.”

When I thought I couldn’t love Jasper anymore I did. When I thought Jasper couldn’t be anymore wonderful, he was. Words can’t express how much more I connected to this story and their characters. I loved the first book, but fell head over heels in the second. Monica’s writing keeps the reader intrigued. When you start this book, be sure you have free time because you’re going to be mad if you have to put it down.

Monica James, you made my heart ache and then somehow put it back together. Jasper White. I Surrender. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. You are the epitome of a book boyfriend. This heart-wrenching story is a must read. These characters will stay with me for a long time. I absolutely cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of Jasper and Ava’s story.

I love this series. I feel in love with Jasper White. There was just something about this quiet, broody lead singer that captured me from the very moment we met in in I SURRENDER. In SURRENDER TO ME, we have a different Jasper. Once who is struggling with this feelings for Ava and what they lost, versus being willing to put all that aside to be her friend.

This entry into the series begins six months after the end of I SURRENDER. Ava has been back in Singapore going to school and we meet up with her as she's flying back to LA for V and Lucas' wedding. We discover that things are very different for Ava than they were when we last left her and she's in no better place than she was before.

Ava and Jasper continue through their relationship with a ton of misunderstandings. Things left unsaid or misunderstood have led to quite a bit of heartbreak between the two. Of course, Ava's ex, Harper, does his fair share of causing trouble, but the individuals responsible for the state their relationship is in is Ava and Jasper. I love Jasper, so I might be willing to overlook some of his issues, but Ava drove me nuts at times. I always felt like she didn't fight hard enough for Jasper. Sure she cried over him and made some half hearted attempts, but it seems she was always hurting him more than making him happy.

Then there was Indie and Harper. Jasper and Ava both have hung onto these ex's instead of cutting them loose. Because of that, they have had a whole separate round of issues. I know it leads to more drama having these two meddlesome individuals around, but they both made me want to shake and scream at Jasper and Ava at times.

Both Jasper and Ava seemed to grow more in this installment. They may drive you crazy, but you can see they are both honestly trying. When I would get frustrated I would remember she's only twenty three and I was no better than she at that age.

If you like a new adult read with an incredibly hot male lead that's full of angst and emotional turmoil, this is definitely a series to pick up.

Once again My girl Monica has delivered an insane book!

Surrender to Me is nothing short of 5 stars! If these markings could go any higher she would be top notch! This is amazing, sexy, brilliantly written, keeps you on the edge of your seat!

From start to finish i was once again completely and utterly consumed with everything Jasper White. From his eyes to his dimples down to his combat boots! He is like a drug!

I did not think i could love him more than i already did, but damn did i get proven WRONG!

I fell in love all over again with Ava & Jasper.
I cried, I laughed, I was pissed, Scared, Angry you name it. Emotions ran very high, you never know what was coming next.

Literally Right from the beginning chapter 1, I was on edge wanting MORE MORE MORE, not knowing where the hell this was gonna go. What you thought was gonna happen is most likely the opposite of what really does.

I want to spill everything and talk about all these amazing parts but i am not one to ruin a book for anyone who has not read it.

If you want a series that is nothing short of addicting, i suggest you read this one!

Now i must again, sit back, and wait for my friend to deliver the LAST and FINAL book of the I Surrender series, Surrendered 2014.

It is hard to believe that after this last book Jasper White will be completed. Even though he will be all done in the books, Jasper & Ava are characters i will forever remember. AND of course this is a series i will read and read and read again :-)

Congrats to my friend Monica James, you did it again Doll! <3

love your guts! xox

Surrender To Me Review – 5 Stars

Well Monica you did it again. I’m salivating over Jasper and I want more! I cannot wait until the 3rd book is released.

Besides my blatant addiction to anything that has to do with Jasper White, I was completely captivated from the moment I read page 1 until the very end. It has been a long time since a series has captured my attention and been able to keep me enthralled.

I felt every emotion in this book as I did in the first book. I was angry, pissed, upset, happy, sad, any emotion you can name off the top of your head I felt. There is no way that you cannot like the story of Jasper and Ava. They’re relatable characters that you fall in love with over and over and over again.

You think you have everything figured out as you’re reading this book, but you don’t. You really don’t. Anything that you think is so easily foreseeable and predictable isn’t.. You had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen. You have to keep reading to ease your mind not only to know what does happen but because this story is so addicting. I couldn’t put the book down. Definitely, a book you all need to pick up and read. You will be glad that you did, I promise! =)

Hats off to you Monica. I’m literally waiting on the edge of my seat for the final installment to this series. As sad as I am that this will be the last book, I need to know how this story ends. I’m craving it. Xox doll

spoiler alert beware!!!!! Omg I absolutely loved this book. I never thought I could love Jasper more but I definitely do after this book. He never gave up on Ava or stopped loving her. He wrote her letters and sent her flowers every single day. But that bastard Harper made her think the flowers were from him and he shredded the letters. Then he forged a letter from Jasper saying he was over her. He tricked her into agreeing to marry him. The bastard! When Ava goes home to Los Angeles for her best friend V 's wedding she is now forced to face Jasper. She immediately knows she still loves him and has made a huge mistake by agreeing to marry Harper. The more time they spend together the closer and more confused they come. Finally Ava learns the truth at V 's wedding. She has dumped Harper to be with the love of her life Jasper. Finally!!! But when she learns the truth Harper beats her and then Jasper saves her and beats the carp out of Harper. Yea happy dance!!! Harper admits to cheating on her, tricking her into becoming his trophy wife, and using her. Now that she and Jasper are back together she gets sick. Omg I think she's pregnant with Jaspers baby. And the book ends. Omg!!!! I need more now. I love this book and these characters so much. Cannot wait for the next book.

O.M.G. I am loving me some JASPER! When knowing the 1st book in a series rocks me and there are two more to go, I often wonder just how the author can make the 2nd book hang in there with the 1st one. Well Monica James, you did it. Harper!!! Good grief I didn't see any of that coming! Once again he lived up to his rep! I love Veronica with her direct to the gut comments! And the heat you could feel between Jasper and Ava was off the charts!I was so thrilled with how this one ended and can not wait for what I hope to be their HEA in the last book! Like you love to say Monica, you knocked my socks off again!!!Thank you for a great 2nd book.

Okay...so I got the fist book...didn't really like it and still got this book. I'm still asking myself why? I'm a sucker for rockstar romances? Second chance love? I found Harper's character hard to believe and Ava and Jasper still irritating. I guess I wanted to like this book but just couldn't!

This was an absolute toxic, dramatic love story and devoured every single second!
Heartache and passion are the top feelings you will have reading this series. Jasper and Ava went through so much to have their happy ending. And it almost wasn’t.
They are two characters who truly needed healing to complete their love.

SURRENDER TO ME is the second storyline in Monica James’s contemporary, new adult romance series focusing on Ava Thompson and Jasper White. This instalment commences approximately four months following the end of I Surrender when Ava returns to the United States to stand up in her best friend’s wedding.

In the intervening four months the storyline changes dramatically. When we last left Ava and Jasper, they had pledged their undying love for one another as Ava departed for a scholarship program at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) in Singapore-the same place where he ex boyfriend Harper still resides. Of course, you can see the problems approaching now that Harper and Ava are going to be in close proximity to one another.

The relationship between Ava and Jasper has fallen apart due in part to a piece of information that the reader is not privy to throughout most of the building story and when Ava returns to America with her ex-boyfriend in tow, things go from bad to worse with every encounter between our leading couple. And to complicate matters, Ava keeps the truth about her relationship with Harper a secret-one that even her BFF Veronica is not aware. Harper and Ava are back together as a couple and the reasons Ava keeps close to her heart.

The reader is pulled into another storyline of emotional ups and downs especially when Jasper is unable to stay angry with Ava for very long. His need and love for Ava has barely survived their separation and is clearly spiraling out of control as the storyline progresses. Jasper and Ava’s connection can be felt to the deepest part of their soul: their love for one another is both heartbreaking and sad because of the elephant in the room-what went wrong and why? The relationship issues needed to be resolved before anyone would get their HEA.

Harper plays a more active role in Surrender to Me-one that will place Jasper and Ava in a difficult situation. He is an enigma and a man with an obvious plan. Although his part was predictable from a reader’s POV, I kept wondering why Ava hadn’t clued in to Jasper’s late night behavior and obvious avoidance of his girlfriend.

The world building and especially the character development continues from I Surrender. Monica delves deeper into Jasper and Harper’s personalities including Harper’s need for Ava and why. The storyline covers a few days in the life before the wedding and concludes with a surprising pronouncement a few weeks later.

SURRENDER TO ME is a passionate storyline about two people so much in love with another but two people who have a difficult time revealing the truth behind the continuous misunderstandings and thoughts of betrayal. It is a story where the heart knows what it wants before the mind has had a chance to see the entire picture.

OMFG im blown away , i loved this and i mean LOVED this book (((sigh))) review to come ...

This is a review I HAVE TO WRITE i was absolutely blown away with this book!! From the first few pages it had me sitting at the edge of my seat, eyes bugging out, mouth hanging open followed by a " what the fuck" tumbling from my mouth ( excuse my french lol ) but i was seriously taken aback by a huge surprise i really didn't see coming and not in a good way either!! ( you will understand when you read this)
However, Ava really did piss me off to start with not being able to set things straight with Jasper but then i thought to myself, with Jasper's hot alluring sex appeal, strong willed hot headed attitude i think id shrink back some what to, then i felt for Ava with her doubts and less than confident attitude towards Jasper.

Dont get me wrong i really did feel for the gal but then she made really bad and i mean disastrous choices ( that i wont give away) where i thought , ill help you dig that hole, because i knew she was gonna get her ass bitten and i mean "big ass chunk bitten" leaving her with no ass!!

Gah i really felt for both Ava and jasper it cut me in two at times and thinking of "cut" what i really wanted to do was chop Harpers balls off with a very blunt and i mean BLUNT instrument and feed his balls to my cats, ive never hated anyone one as i did him GRRrr i would love to elaborate but i wont leave narda spoilers but you will see why i hate him then join the line behind me because im already there at front :)

Overall this was an emotional roller coaster so buckle in tight folks because your in for one hell of a bumpy shitty ride that will splatter every emotion across the tracks leaving you mentally drained and yet still hungry for more of Ava and Jasper.

This was yet another beautifully written book by Monica and boy did she suck me in, chew me up and spit me out , this along with the first book are my 2013 favourites. I am soooo purchasing the series to add to my book shelf of favourites :)

Ooooh how could i forget, watch out for the cliff hanger , i know its gonna get bad before it gets better in the third instalment and all im saying ( well guessing) Jaspers mum and the bitchy skank whore will be hell bent on a war path of destruction ..... Hurry up 2014 need my last fix :)

Monica you are the best <3 xx

I don't think I have ever started a book and instantly wanted to throw my e-reader across the room within the first couple of pages, until Surrender to Me. What the French toast!!!!! Granted things ended kind of in a state of limbo with Ava and Jasper in I Surrender, but REALLY AVA?!!? REALLY?!?!?! If the ability to smack a fictional character actually existed, I would love to have smacked her a few times....We knew that when she went back to Singapore that Harper would be a factor, but what she did...I can't...I won't tell you. It isn't right. I know other reviewers will tell you, I just can't do it. It is too horrible. Anyway, at least when Jasper sent back to Singapore, Ava knew what real love feels like. How she should be treated. That she is worth something. Unfortunately, Ava had a moment and lost her freaking mind! Okay I will get over it. Thankfully, a completely awesome event (involves V and Lucas and a white dress) and Ava goes back to LA. Unfortunately, Harper comes with her. The first time that she has a run in with Jasper almost broke my heart (make sure to read his POV after you read the book!) in fact the first few run ins that the two of them had broke my heart. I couldn't figure out which one I wanted to be angrier at! Thank goodness for V, if it hadn't been for her, I probably would have needed anger management before I was halfway through this book! I've decided V is a genius. At the end if I Surrender Jasper gave Ava the note saying: 'If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If it does not, it was never meant to be' This note kept popping up in my mind at several points throughout Surrender to Me. Just seemed to be very appropriate considering a few things that happened throughout the book. If you are a Jasper fan and anti-Harper, be warned, you will not be happy for well over the first half of this book. Fear not though, Monica James makes up for this! I am even more hooked on this series and can't wait for my next fix! Hurry up and get here "early 2014" 5 HUGE STARS!!

Spoiler-free review. Slight cliff hanger. I highly recommend reading book I Surrender (Book #1) prior reading Surrender to Me (Book #2). 4.5 stars.

Where are all of these amazing new book releases coming from lately? Down under! I love Aussie writer Monica James and her Surrender series.
Surrender to Me (Surrender Book #2)is my favorite book out of the two. I am going to remain spoiler free here and top line my review. Surrender to Me picks up right where book one left off. Ava is in Singapore with Harper and they are engaged. She is still hopelessly in love with Jasper and still devastated about how things ended. Ava and Harper have to make a trip back to LA for V’s wedding. Ava has no idea that Jasper will be at the wedding. Ava also doesn’t have a clue about Harper’s “other” life. That’s all I can say without giving this story away.

I devoured this book in one day. There was no way I could put this book down. Book #1 had a monster cliff hanger…so you could imagine how I couldn’t wait to download this book. It was worth the wait. Surrender to Me is one hell of a roller coaster ride full of emotional twists and turns. There were times I wanted to smack Ava for being naïve…just sayin. I think Harper is on my list of sinister douche bag boyfriends of all time. WOW…I didn’t see where this book was going at all!!! I do have one little criticism/suggestion. Albeit small...but worth noting. Some of the dialogue needs to be “Americanized”. I love “Aussie-isms” but just had to throw it out there since characters are Cali natives. *SIDE NOTE – Monica James – I am happy to help you with this.* This book ended with a slight cliffy and can’t wait to see where this story is going. I will auto-download book three.

I hounded Monica for the arc of book 2 and I got it! AND, I was pissed off within the first few sentences. Why? Well, I cannot reveal that major detail because it would simply and in the famous words of River Song from 'Doctor Who', "spoilers." (Yes, I am a Whovian but I digress.)
When I started reading this my mouth was agape and blood pressure went up an up. I immediately went to messenger and sent Monica this, "WHY?! What did you do? Why? Tell me it changes! TELL ME!" And what did this little Aussie do? "Keep reading, Tammy." So I did.
I really cannot give many details on what happens because the flow of everything matters, all the feels, all the situations, all the kisses, all the "What ifs?", all the "Why? Why?", all the "what am I am doing?"; matters. IT JUST DOES!
I can tell you this:
A. You need to read it.
B. We see Ava get weaker.
C. We see Ava get stronger.
D. Best Friends know when to put us in our place.
E. Never question yourself when something is right.
F. Do not let something go because you are afraid of what others think.
G. Be open.
H. Be blunt.
I. Always speak from the heart.
J. Jasper White.
K. Rockers are hot.
L. Men can have true feelings.
M. Women over think everything.
N. Be yourself.
O. Never let someone make you their option.
P. Outside forces need to be put in their place.
Q. Don't give up your dreams for someone else.
R. Always check your sources.
S. If it sounds suspicious, it probably is.
T. Do not run away.
U. Face your problems.
V. We fall in love with Jasper even more.
W. White, Jasper.
X. Make wishes.
Y. Make those wishes take flight.
Z. It's never to late.

JASPER WHITE....... JASPER WHITE.... BE STILL MY HEART! I LOVE JASPER WHITE AND POE!

Can I just say that Monica I love you but DAM this book had me so frustrated and angry because Ava was being a straight lace biatch and made me want to jump through the book and slapped the bloody hell out of her! Lord I love Jasper so much. He is a man that I would love to clone because he is so loving and caring and he put his heart out there for Ava and she acted like an immature biatch! I tell you my blood was boiling because Ava just did some immature things and when she went back to Singapore that just broke my heart.

Jasper was heart broken when Ava left but he gave her the space she needed and when he found out she came back he was determined to get her back. I understand why Ava acted the way she acted but she should have had enough faith in Jasper to let him in. Their relationship reminds me of the song Wrecking Ball by Miley Cirus in one of the chorus parts she sings about not walking away and always loving and wanting him. To me this is Jasper singing this to Ava./ Will Ava tear dowen her walls or will she keep them up and lose the one true that will be there for her and take care of her when the pieces fall and crash?

Don't you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can't live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you

I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
Yeah, you, you wreck me

Monica thank you so much for this beautiful story that tore at my heart and had me in tears one minute and laughing the next. I need a series on V next. Love ya my music twin!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.5 STARS!!!!
I have to start by telling you I devoured this book in one day. It was a roller coaster of angst!!!
In book one I Surrender our heroine Ava is on her way back home to L.A. heartbroken. In book two she's also on her back home to L.A. HEARTBROKEN! Say what?!?! I know. I was like what the hell happened? Ava is heading home for her bestie V's wedding, and dreading seeing Jasper again after months of separation. But as soon as she lays eyes on the only man she's truly ever loved she realizes. She's made a huge mistake! Can they see past the mistakes and work back into each others hearts? No not without a ton of scheming from Mr Douchbag himself Harper. Gosh if you hated him in the first book you'll seriously want to kill him in this one! I wanted to chuck my ipad across the room! I just couldn't wrap my brain around it, but I persevered and read on. I was not disappointed. Why you ask? Two words Jasper White. If you thought he was swoon worthy in the first book. He's was just down right SEXXXY in this one!!! We see the side of alpha Jasper...Uber Hotness!!! That alone is worth all the angst and me being pissed off.
With all that said Monica James has a way of creating a not so perfect love story filled with angst, heartbreak, and romance. God she sucks you in and doesn't let you go!

Oh Monica! Monica Monica! I thought we subconsciously agreed not to cause me a heart attack for like ½ of the book! Again, I love the opening scene with the flight attendant announcement, I don’t know why but it is like your signature for this book. So anyway, I am reading and then I am confused I am like umm wait what! I reread the pages just to make sure and I am like SERIOUSLY! NO! NO! NO!! I went ghetto for a minute! I was mad at Monica, Ava, the flight attendant, and the fool sitting next to her! I was pissed, but I kept reading but I was cursing everyone out in my head. Not going to lie, Ava annoyed the crap out of me the first half of the book. Her logic on things made no sense and I wanted to shake her and say “STOP IT.”Of course Jasper was perfect in every way shape and form! I loved him even more in this book and I wanted to hug him. I don’t want to give anything away, so I will just say Harper plays a role in this book and it is not a good one, V is the best friend any girl can have, Jasper and Ava love for each other is out of this world, the ending was too good to be true and having to wait until next year may be the death of me, We didn’t get a lot of scenes with Indie but I am sure in book 3 Indie along with Jasper’s mom will have bigger roles and may make Harper look like a saint in comparison. A fantastic read. Once again I applaud you Monica for your fantastic job!
