The adoption of serverless is on the rise, but until now, little guidance has been available for development teams that want to apply this technology on AWS. This definitive guide is packed with architectural, security, and data best practices and patterns for architects and engineers who want to build reliable enterprise-scale serverless solutions. Sheen Brisals, an AWS Serverless Hero, and Luke Hedger, an AWS Community Builder, outline the serverless adoption requirements for an enterprise, examine the development tools your team needs, and explain in depth the nuances of testing event-driven and distributed serverless services. You'll gain practical guidance for keeping up with change and learn how to build serverless solutions with sustainability in mind.
Quite good, more about best practices and providing extra context for the topic. It doesn't consist of any hands-on work nor does it show code listings you might expect from it. Nonetheless, it provides enough information to get started and start looking further for more practical resources if that's what you want/need.

I absolutely enjoyed reading “Serverless Development on AWS”, and in my opinion, it is an absolute game-changer for anyone interested in serverless architecture!
I found myself referring to this book quite frequently during my day-to-day job when I was about to work on designing a new part of a serverless system. Beyond information about popular architectural patterns and communication strategies, the authors cover quite extensively security, testing strategies, observability and other important topics that every serverless engineer should know about.
In addition, these two aspects I found useful: - Useful templates for Solution Design and Threat Modelling. The solution design is a true gem, I wish I discovered it sooner. - Interviews with industry experts - Architects, AWS Heros, Community Builders.
Despite the name of the book, I believe it will be useful for developers regardless of the cloud provider they use, because, primarily, this book teaches you to… think, and gets you into the right mindset to build serverless applications. It also provides absolutely invaluable insights about serverless adoption if you didn’t have a chance to participate in it yourself.
Long story short, I’m actively recommending this book to all my colleagues who started their serverless journey!
I have found this book very insightful! I got stuck in quickly, and I have gained valuable knowledge! This book is a complete guide on serverless on AWS! It takes you through all the areas you need to understand when considering adopting serverless. The diagrams and code snippets were also handy, helping create a complete picture of what the authors were sharing. I cannot recommend this book enough! It's a great way to learn about serverless on AWS!
