In this springtime adventure based on the Emmy Award–winning PBS TV show, George and Steve find themselves in a sticky situation when they accidentally eat all of Betsy's delicious honeycomb for her Earth Day presentation about bees. Now they need to find a way to replace the honeycomb before Betsy gets back from dance class. They head to an Earth Day fair in the park, where they learn all about bees, beehives, and how bees make honey. All they need to do is make their own beehive and they'll have plenty of homemade honeycomb! But will they be able to attract enough bees in time for Betsy's presentation? Includes two activities that reinforce the concepts in the story. For more monkey fun, check out www.curiousgeorge.com and discover all the latest books, promotions, games, activities, and more!
Neo took the lead on this one, wanting to explore more Curious George, as well as learn about honeybees. George and his friend begin learning a little more about bees and how to cultivate honey. It's quite the process, with a queen, a hive, and even honeycombs. When they try to find one for their friend, George and Steve are unable to do so, but soon discover that they can create one at home. However, someone ought to have checked with the Man in the Yellow Hat before ransacking the house. Oops! Neo liked this story and read it with confidence. He has been getting stronger in his reading and better equipped as books get a tad harder!
Curious George is a mischievous monkey, and tends to cause some problems in many things he does. But in this book, George learns all about harvesting honey, and how honeybees grow, live, and make honey. This book is one of many in the Curious George series. It is one of the most informational books by the author in this series. It helps teach kids all about honeybees and the different phases of their life. The authors do a great job at making the technical language understandable for young readers, as well as using illustrations that portray what happens with honeybees.
There really isnt much information in this book about bees and hives. I was a bit disappointed, but my son still liked reading the story. Logan: my favorite parts were when Betsy said she had more honeycomb, and the last page.
