Ok, I’m seriously sucking at writing reviews right now; I’ve been sitting here wondering the best way to tell you how much I loved and adored the conclusion of Adam and Maddy. Therefore, I did the next best thing, I turned to my hubby and asked him what I should write. I explained writer’s block really sucks, and I needed his help. Well, he was more than happy to help with a pretty simple response,“It’s really good, go out and buy it.” Now, we see why I’m the book reviewer and he isn’t. Just teasing, especially since the man had a great point.
I’m excited to say that Wickingham Way was a pretty awesome conclusion. Sniff, sniff…I’m feeling a little nostalgic as I say good bye to Harbour Falls. The story of Maddy and Adam has come to an end. I’m really going to miss this series. From the very first page, I knew with all the twists and turns that this couple would not only frustrate the heck out of me, but that they would also encapsulate me. With each book, it was refreshing to see Adam and Maddy learn from their mistakes and use them to mature into rich characters.
What I enjoyed the most about this ending was the calm Susie gave Adam and Maddy. Wickingham Way still held action; however, it wasn't as fast paced and jammed packed as the first two books. I loved that she didn't draw it out with so much angst and drama that you lost sight of the characters growing chemistry and connection. Maddy and Adam's relationship felt more natural this time around, not so forced or glaringly instant. There were points in the story where it almost seemed delicate and vulnerable to me; as though once Susie started to unravel their many layers by removing all the lies, secrets, and half-truths, the hero and heroine were given the opportunity to really connect on a deeper level. I
And I must say, Hello, Adam Ward! You held my absolute attention this time around. I adored reading your adventure through Maddy's eyes, but it was you who kept me focused and coming back for more. Please tell me you have a twin out there somewhere. I NEED more of this new yumminess you've begun to show. I mean, I have adored you since the beginning, but OH. MY. GOSH! Where in the world did you suddenly come from? Gone was the man full of secrets and ass hat moments; in his place stood a deliciously romantic man who pulled off some very swoon worthy moments for his girl. Ladies, trust me when I say, Adam Ward can whisk me away to a safe house any day of the week.
I’m a huge sucker for romantic suspense. I absolutely adore a good love story filled with drama and mystery. And S.R. Grey did not fail to deliver. The Harbor Falls trilogy has kept me glued to its pages, chomping at the bit to finish this mind boggling suspense. I stumbled upon Susie’s trilogy last year when she approached our blog. Boy, I am glad she did; she has quickly become one of my favorite authors to read. Her books never fail to feed my addiction. And although we have come to the finale of Adam and Maddy, Susie continues to give us amazing new characters. If you're a huge fan like I am, or just starting Susie's books than I highly suggest checking out I Stand Before You. Chase Gartner will make your panties magically fall away. No joke. This delectable bad boy sits high on my list of book boyfriends.
Thank you, S.R. Grey for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Willow Point in exchange for my honest opinion.
