Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who’ll be posing as her newlywed groom.
Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he’s agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family’s way of trying to get him hitched. So why is it when he takes Cassie into his home, Shane wants nothing more than to turn their make-believe marriage into more than just a sham?
In a moment of weakness, Shane steals a kiss. In return, Cassie steals his heart. Yet before they confess their undying love, a hidden danger threatens to tear them apart.
*Although this novel is considered clean romance, it does contain passionate kissing and a few mild curse words.
USA Today Bestselling author Kimberly Krey is known as the Queen of Steamy Clean Romance. She's a fervent lover of God, family, and cheese platters, as well as the ultimate hater of laundry. Her readers count on faith-filled romance novels that stay clean without losing the steam.
Cassie’s Cowboy Crave by Kimberly Krey turned out to be tender and suspenseful. Kimberly Krey weaves together danger and longing with a warmth that made me feel deeply invested in Cassie’s heart. At 24, Cassie Lovell’s life seems comfortable: a good job, great friends, and a city apartment she loves. That world is shaken when she must enter a witness protection program and goes to live on Emerson Ranch in Montana. There, she meets Shane Emerson, the rugged cowboy who pretends to be her husband, but their “fake marriage” becomes more than just a cover.
What touched me most was how real the emotional journey feels. Cassie is scared and vulnerable, and Krey doesn’t gloss over the stakes: the danger she’s running from feels genuine, and her fears carry weight. At the same time, Shane’s protective instincts and gradual softness toward her make the romance feel grounded and meaningful. Their connection grows through small moments; a stolen kiss, quiet conversations, and Krey balances the tension with a sincere tenderness. The narrative builds with enough suspense to keep me turning pages, yet the heart of the story is always the trust these two build. My one gentle critique is that some of the danger feels a bit under-explored; I wanted more insight into the threat. But overall, this book is a beautiful blend of sweet romance and heartfelt vulnerability. 4 stars for its emotional depth, believable characters, and the way it marries tension with warmth.
I thought this was okay, overall it was enjoyable, just not what I was expecting. I liked Cassie and Shane well enough, I wish their relationship were a little deeper and didn’t move so fast. I am just not a fan of insta-love, or insta-lust, I have a hard time believing the longevitity of a relationship that is built so much on physical attraction and little else. While they did have good chemistry and some great moments together, I would have again liked it more if everything wasn’t so fast. There were a couple other things that could have been developed a little more, but overall it was a fun read.
When I started this I felt lost. I thought this was maybe a third book in a series and that I was missing something. At least where Shane’s family was concerned. His family has been in the “protection” business for a long time, hosting people who needed to lay-low for awhile. Turns out two of his brothers actually met their wives that way. When they would talk about them it just seemed like we should have already known their story or something, I thought I was missing something. I also thought it kind of took the originality out of Shane and Cassie’s situation. It also bothered me that his family was so pushy about him ending up with Cassie, even before they even met her.
I had originally filed this under mystery, but after reading it I had to change that. This is pretty much a straight romance with very little mystery. Actually, I found the suspense elements to be pretty lacking; maybe I went into it with the wrong expectations. There is one brief scene that is a little suspenseful, but it had nothing to do with the original reason why Cassie went into hiding. The reason for her going into hiding gets forgotten and is never truly wrapped up. There were a few other loose ends, one of which is the relationship with her parents. I would have liked to see a little more closure there, it was just kind of left like “it is what it is” which is fine I guess.
What a fun, clean read! Cassie has to suddenly leave her life behind and enter the Witness Protection Program. Shane is helping to keep her safe and, living on a ranch with other single men around, decides the best way to protect her is to pretend they're married. Cassie's parents and boyfriend live out of the country so she's not used to having family around and the more she's around Shane's family, the more she realizes what she's missing out on. But of course there are complications, misunderstandings and a former flame that might come between them.
I loved both Cassie and Shane and they have some great chemistry! Yes, there is lots of passionate kissing and it lives up to Ms. Krey's motto of "Writing Romance That's Clean Without Losing the Steam!" I usually like a little more suspense or mystery when I read romance and while this had some, it seemed like more of a straight romance novel to me. There's a storyline with her in the Witness Protection Program but it seemed to get lost and I didn't feel like that was a huge part of the story (except for being the reason they met). That actually didn't bother me, though, because I was so caught up in Cassie's and Shane's relationship that I wanted to read more about them, anyway.
I also loved Shane's family. They had lots of get togethers and his sisters-in-law helped Cassie feel welcome. His family seemed like they would be fun to hang around and enjoyed being together. It reminded me of how I feel when my own huge family gets together and the fun we have (but since we don't all live near each other, it doesn't happen too often anymore). I felt like I could relate to his family which is why I enjoyed them so much and look forward to learning more about them in future books!
This book contains passionate kissing, mild curse words and an attack that's not graphic. This book moves along well and was hard to put down. If this sounds like the type of book that appeals to you, then I highly recommend reading it!
4.5 stars Kimberly Krey's motto seems to be: Romance that's clean without losing the steam. And a very fine motto that is, Kimberly. It's a lovely, fine motto that I hope you keep it forever. And ever. I vote yes.
If you'd like to escape for awhile into the world of a sexy, volatile, boot wearing cowboy from Montana, this is your book. :) Shane is definitely swoon worthy. Hard working, protective... wow, he almost sounds too good to be true, yeah?
This book was, for me, an escape. It was exactly what I was looking for and what I was hoping to get. I was reading a couple books for review but I just needed a break from what I was reading and decided to delve into Cassie's Cowboy Crave a bit earlier than scheduled. It delivered. Yup, it sure did.
If I were trying to put this book in a grouping, I would say it is similar to Marcia McClure books. The passionate kissing, the romantic tension and build up- very similar in style to Marcia McClure books. (who I love, by the way)
I loved the sense of family in this book. The Emerson's do it up right. And the spider parts? Creepy. Just wait 'till you read it. CREEPY. I hate spiders.
Cassie's Cowboy Crave was a fantastic diversion. I loved it. I didn't have to think too hard, I just enjoyed the ride. A perfect way to spend a few hours by the pool while your kids swim. :) (yes, that's exactly how it went for me)
Content: Passionate kissing scenes and mild swearing.
I received Cassie’s Cowboy Crave in return for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by Prism Book Tours. Cassie’s life growing up wasn't typical her parents didn't raise her she was raised by grandmother until she passed away. Her parents didn't even show up to the funeral so it’s no surprise she jumps into a long distance relationship with a guy in India and after three year still doesn't know much about him. When her fellow jurors are dying off she’s forced into witness protection and sent to Montana where they hope the killer won’t look for her.
Cassie will spend time living with Shane a cowboy who lives on a cattle ranch just steps from his parents and surrounded by his brothers and their wives. She has no plans on falling for the handsome cowboy nor does she know what to expect what she does know is she won’t be going alone she will have her two beloved cats. When she arrives in Montana she receives a warm reception from Shane’s family making Cassie long for the family she didn't’ have growing up. What starts out as a fake marriage to keep her identity covered turns into the blossoming of love. When a flashback from Shane’s past appears stirring up emotions will the pair survive?
I love Kimberly Krey her books are never a disappointment and she’s quickly becoming my favorite romance writer. Cassie’s Cowboy Crave is a fast paced clean romance novel that will leave you breathless. The characters are engaging easy to connect with and stole my heart. After learning about Cassie’s story I wanted to adopt her as my own sister and give her the life she always wanted but never had. I think Shane is amazing he’s my idea of the perfect cowboy. They each have been hurt but together they learn to heal and love again. I finished the book in one afternoon unable to put it down because I found the story so captivating. I really loved the story it’s just sweet romance which is my favorite kind with handsome cowboys. I can’t wait to see what we get in the next book.
I"m so excited to share this contemporary western romance series! I totally fell for Shane and Cassie while writing this story, and can't wait to get the others out there as well.
Ah! It’s been a couple weeks now since I’ve finished this book and I STILL have it on my brain (not to mention the butterflies in my tummy when I think of the sweet man Shane is) I’ve read quite a few cowboy romances over the years and I have to say, Shane Emerson is now easily my favorite among the other ranch lad’s I’ve read about. Often times, I’ll have a friend who is moving to some country side or another somewhere in the US and we will always cracks jokes like, “it’ll be even better once you meet yourself a fine cowboy, eh?” Country twang and good with his hands,” with an added wink. But I’ll be damned if I never had an image to go with that fancy. This is the first book in the series “Sweet Montana Bride”. Each book is a stand-alone story but revolves around characters associated with Cassie and the Emerson ranch. And lemme tell ya, there’s a mighty fine pool of ranch hands on this farm. I don’t want to give everything away in this review because this beautiful story unfolds in a way I can’t even touch, nor do I want to spoil! The opening scene is very cryptic; Shane Emerson is storming to his brother’s house banging on the door accusing him of setting him up in situation he never asked to be in, about a girl waiting at the airport and his refusal to go along with whatever disruption in his way of life his brother is forcing on him.
The girl in question is Cassie, Seattle girl who is suddenly uprooted from her daily life after a jury trial that went wrong. Officials have every reason to believe that anyone on the same jury as Cassie is being sought out to be murdered by the family that was on trial. To be cautious, each jury member is placed in a temporary witness protection and Cassie just so happens to The Emerson’s are notorious for their help in housing the victims with a place to stay and a job, and being surrounded by family and protection. But what’s even more notorious, are the love stories that bud beneath the big blue sky on their cozy ranch. Shane’s brothers for example, fell in love with two of the girls that fell into their care, and have all started a family. Shane was on to their devious plan the moment he got wind they signed up for another victim, a female victim at that, and is exactly why he was against it from the beginning. After a terrible relationship that ended sour years before, Shane felt he’d never be ready for anything serious anytime soon, forever if he could help it, I bet. He caves in and indulges his family’s fantasies to get it over with, and perhaps to even shut them up about always trying to fix him up with strange women. He figured the city girl would never want to settle in such a deserted, far out place, anyhow, so he went along with it. The catch, however, would be that they would have to pretend to have come back from a honeymoon after an eloping of their marriage so that the other ranch hands won’t be suspicious of who this girl may really be. To each Cassie’s and Shane’s dismay . . . small exposure of each other’s passion and kindness warmed them up to one another over the coming days. This story was beautiful in every way; between the romantic suspense, and the thrill of the dark and looming possibilities of Cassie’s life being taken away at any given moment, kept me turning one page after another without ever putting this book down.
I can’t count all the times I was afraid for Cassie every time she was home alone, and I can’t even count all the times my heart melted at the gentleness in the words and actions of the at-first-apparent, rough and angry Shane. Did I mention? OH THE SEXINESS!?! PHEW. The author effectively feeds us enough lust and passion without having to spill every word of the naughty bits that happen behind closed doors. This is a huge 5 star read for me!
Cassie’s Cowboy Crave by Kimberly Krey is a delightfully spine-tingling and absolutely heavenly journey of finding your place in this world and discovering a love that you never dared to dream of. This story is such an exquisite ray of sunshine! While romance hasn’t been something that I ever read much of in the past, I have been captivated and endeared to this genre by a few precious treasures including and especially Cassie’s Cowboy Crave. I can’t say enough good things about this book! My heart was in the clouds as I drifted peacefully and pleasurably through this endlessly captivating masterpiece.
The themes breathed throughout touched my heart in a very meaningful way. I want everyone to find a place in this world that they can call home amidst loving and caring friends and family. I wish for women to be delicately cherished and lavishly desired by men who want to spend forever with them. I long to see people throw aside the negative part of their nature and instead take hold of that part that will build up and encourage those around them to become better people – the people we always hope to become.
I was breathlessly swept off my feet by the pure and fierce romance that sprang to life between Shane and Cassie. While Shane tried his best to be a gentleman and show Cassie that he respected her and wanted to get to know her heart, it was hard to contain the boiling passion that overflowed his heart for her. He was almost powerless at times to stop himself from giving her sinfully delicious kisses laced with fiery passion. If that wasn’t good enough, the pace of that forbidden heat with set to a slow, scorching simmer. Even amid the desire, Shane’s main focus was on getting to know her heart because he intended this to be forever. That melted my heart more than any steamy kiss they shared. This is what I long for every lady to experience.
Kimberly Krey is officially on my favorite author list! I loved seeing her tender and passionate heart throughout this story. It was truly an honor to be able to read a story of this caliber! I highly recommend this book to romance readers who crave depth and meaning in their stories.
Cassie Lovell has just survived six-months as a juror in a high profile case helping put away one of the Lawson brothers. When jurors start turning up murdered, Cassie is taken into a witness protection program in the care of Shane Emerson, a rancher. Did I mention that Shane is one gorgeous hunk of a man who has been very unlucky in love? Cassie has spent her whole life abandoned by her parents who chose to aid in the development of third world countries instead of raising the child they really did not want, giving her away to her grandmother to raise. Her boyfriend of three years went overseas a month after they met for what was supposed to be a year that has now turned into three and who knows if he will ever return.
Shane Emerson's family has a history of aiding people who need to be protected. There is also another bit of history in the women they help. For the their protection Shane's brothers have pretended to be married to the ladies they are protecting and in the end, they fell in love and made those marriages real. Shane, losing a bet, is semi-tricked into helping with the program and finds out he has to protect a woman, and he and women are not a very good mix, his luck in love is down the tubes. His mother insists they also 'pretend' marriage and make it believable for Cassie's protection. He is determined not to follow in his brothers' footsteps...but what happens when both Cassie and Shane feel that instant zing of attraction and longing?
This book was an enjoyable read. I highly recommend it. It is the first in a series and it was quite good. I would have given it a 5-star rating if not for the redundancy in the script, however, it is definitely worth your time and money.
First off, I was fortunate to win a copy of this book through the Goodreads contest. I really enjoyed this sweet story. It was very well written...storyline wise, gramatics, editing and all that jazz. I liked the H/h, both were wonderful characters. Both sweet, flirty, kind, and both stubborn to outright admit their feelings for each other. I guess books would be extremely short if both parties would get over themselves and admit their love!! LOL. I liked so many things about this book, but I will just list a few of my thoughts. The "boyfriend" Griffin was an interesting storyline thought, but who in their right mind would be a relationship for 3 years and only see each other a few times? I know she explained her reason for staying with him, but WTH!!!! Loved their second kiss in the kitchen/pantry, very HOT! Natasha...what a bitch! I would have loved if Shane went off on her, she deserved it! I loved Shane's family, they were so nice and instantly were loving to Cassie. Little Jonah was beyond adorable with his sweet prayer and his goodnight hug! As I said earlier this is a very sweet story, but I wouldn't have frowned upon more action than some steamy kisses!!!!!!! This book had a HEA and would highly recommend this book if you are looking for a great story!
I loved this book! If you are looking for a book that will help you escape from the daily grind, this is the perfect book. I love romances and clean romances are even better. This is a great summer read!!
Growing up I enjoyed reading Harlequin romances and though I still enjoy reading them, I have gotten away from them because of the sex. Finding a romance that is clean one that I would let my daughters read is great. Although it is a clean romance, the kissing is still pretty steamy. I would definately recommend this book to anyone!
As a writer--and avid reader--of Christian fiction, the title of this book along with the cover made me hesitate. (That's not meant to sound snobbish. I'm just leery of reading romance in the secular market.) I'm glad I took a chance on it though. Very well written. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Strong, lovable characters with morals. An overall "clean" romance--refreshing to find in the secular market.
This was a cute book. To be honest I didn't know how this book could be any different than the first two books in this series, but it was! I once again found myself roped in and couldn't seem to put it down. I really liked Cassie, she was very genuine and sweet, and Shane was everything a woman would want. It had just enough suspense to keep you wondering what would happen next. So I think anyone looking for a romance that is clean yet steamy would enjoy this book:) Happy Reading!!
Wow. Loved it. The story is good and interesting. The characters were well drawn. The love story was good and clean. The influence of Marcia Lynn McClure is good! Thanks for keeping it clean.
Oh, my hot cowboy story. It is clean but oh man it can get your blood pumping. Sweet, sexy, and dare I say hot? Yes, I dare. this was a yummy story and Shane's a hero in many, many ways. Cassie is being protected and surrounded by a loving family, which she has never had. Once she gets settled, she is whisked away, only to have Shane tare down any wall to get to his love. LOved it!
OMG I couldn’t take it anymore - I was so bored. For a book with a witness protection program this was so dull. Nothing really happened - this could have been any mail order / fake marriage romance which was not what I was promised by the synopsis.
Maybe I’ll come back to it later - maybe …. Or maybe not …
Glad I picked up this series to read. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is the action and adventure going on in Cassie's life and how Shane comes to the rescue. Cannot wait to read more by this author.
Loved the third book in this series. Great reads. This one had me crying and laughing and not wanting to put the book down. The characters are so easy to love.
I'd give this one a 3.5, but since Goodreads doesn't allow half-stars, I'll bump it up to a 4.
An endangered heroine hiding from gangsters who threaten her life and a hunky cowboy looking for love, Cassie's Cowboy Crave has all the makings of a classic romance.
Shane is a lonely Montana cowboy, still reeling from a breakup. Cassie is a positive-thinking young woman thrust into danger after serving on a jury. When the two are forced together for her protection, the sparks fly.
As a whole, I enjoyed this book. I liked both main characters from the start, and the dynamics with Shane's family were excellent, but there were some areas in the story that left me wanting more.
What I liked:
1. Shane's family was awesome. The sibling rivalry/closeness jumped from the page. Mom and Dad are happily married, supportive parents, and the descriptions of the ranch makes me want to live there. It was no wonder Cassie fell in love with the place.
2. The relationship between the hero and heroine was quick, but felt natural. They were instantly attracted, and despite hesitancy from both, they could not deny the pull each felt.
3. The writing kept me guessing, but not in the traditional way. There were scenes with Shane and Cassie that went in directions I never expected. When I thought they'd be mad at each other, they'd turn it into a game. When I thought they'd be standoffish, they'd be playful. I liked the way the author surprised me.
What I disliked:
1. The "suspense" aspect of the story was almost non-existent. While the purpose of Cassie's stay with Shane was because she was in danger, there was little reminder of it. It really felt she was on a romantic retreat as opposed to witness protection. I liked the interaction of the two characters, but the danger was an afterthought.
2. The final 1/3 of the book felt rushed. Without giving away spoilers, the danger didn't come from the source expected, and so much happened that was glossed over. After waiting the whole book for Shane and Cassie to admit their feelings, not enough time was spent on it.
3. There are three big things I look forward to in every romance I read: the first kiss, the first "I love you," and the first time the couple makes love. In this book, the first kiss, while quick, was well done. This was not an explicit book, so I understand their first time was behind closed doors, and that was fine. But we never got the I love you. They each thought it, and the fact they told each other was referenced in text, but we never got the dialogue. I was waiting and waiting...big disappointment.
Negatives aside, this was an enjoyable story and I'm glad I read it.
"Cassie's Cowboy Crave" by Kimberly Krey was a nice well written contemporary romantic story. We find that a beautifully heroine named Cassie Lovell is being sort by some gangsters after serving on a jury in Seattle. Now she is on a Emerson Ranch in Montana and she is with a hunky cowboy named Shane. Why was she there? Cassie was in ' Witness Protection Program' and had she married Shane? Did they have really feelings for each other? I don't want to tell to much about the novel, just pick up the wonderful read to see for yourself how this author brings it all out to the reader. In the read you would have seen that Cassie needed a 'safe place hiding from those trying to kill her and then their was Shane's family involved with the Witness Program' helping Cassie to get out.
I really enjoyed the book and the main characters as well as the secondary ones were all well developed, drawn, engaging and so captivating only to give you a good read. Also the dynamics with Shane's family were over the top well done by this author along with the beautifully done descriptions of the scenes that left you feeling like you could see the pictures as they were unfolded for the reader...example was the birth of the calf.
This was a beautifully told story that showed 'emotions of romance, love, and even some suspense. If you are looking for a fast paced, fun, smooth, easy read with some great kissing then you have come to the right place for "Cassie's Cowboy Crave" read. I would definitely recommend this novel as a good read. Be prepared for a enjoyable clean cowboy read.
This book made “cowboy” and Montana look sooooo GOOD!!!! I’ve never seen cowboy boots as sexy, but I’ll never look at them the same ever again. Lol.
Montana… that’s another subject. I’m already to move there as it is, so this story nearly had me packing my bags.
It wasn’t so much the wide open skies, the starry nights… it is the pace of live. I enjoyed the family get-togethers, the bustle of the ranch hands waiting for dinner. The wives visiting… the kids riding big wheels inside the house. :-D Yep. I really felt like Cassie had arrived to a place that FELT like home.
Of course, Kimberly Krey chases her there with frightening threats on her life… and she’s not afraid of jumping into the nitty-gritty of relationships and misunderstandings. Watch out! I connected with all the twists and turns and second-guesses. I blushed plenty over the hot scenes almost shouting at the hot tub “get a room, already!” Ha!
(The sexual tension jumps high and stays there the entire book without crossing adult boundaries. Just skips along ‘em, teasing.)
On the other hand… this is a bleak look at Seattle. *cough* It can’t be that bad.
So, yea… I enjoyed Cassie, totally. And Shane really did make cowboy look good, just like the well-worn book of a friend. (I Loved that part.) But my favorite character has to be Montana. I think I’m in love with the state of Montana.
And I'm happy to hear there are more stories in that setting already in the making. Yes!!
If you’re looking for fast-paced, home-made fun… and a lot of great kissing… you’ve arrived. I really enjoyed this book and read it in record time despite a busy summer. Lol.
Cassie Lovell is an editor that is great at her job, has a few great friends that she hangs out with and has an apartment with a killer view of Seattle. All of that is about to change though and her life will never be the same. Cassie is rushed into the witness protection program when two jurors are found dead not long after the high profile case that she was on was finished up. Shane Emerson is really ticked off when he finds that his meddling brothers and their wives volunteered him to protect some women that has been placed into the witness protection program. Just because it worked out for them and helped them to find their true loves doesn’t mean that it will work for him. What’s the chance of it happening again since both of their wives were sent to the ranch were once in the program?
This book reads as if it’s the 3rd book in the series but it’s actually the 1st which confused me. It’s not that your lost when you read it by any means but when you read it you get the feeling that you should know more about Jade and Reese, the other two women that were once in the WPP and are now happily married to Shane’s brothers. Jades story is actually #2 in the series so you already know going in that she has married Shanes’ brother Gavin and they have a daughter. If it wasn’t for that I may have given it a higher rating because I really liked the story, plot, writing style as well as the characters. You get a sneak peak of Jades story in the back and I’m really looking forward to reading it.
Cassie was in a dangerous situation and very suddenly was put into the Witness Protection Program, without any advance warning - not even being able to pack. She is moved from a large city to a ranch in Montana. Cassie is a likable character since she always tries to do what other people want and doesn't think about herself. Cassie is moved to the Emerson Ranch where Shane, a handsome cowboy, is to look after her. Shane feels the best way to keep Cassie safe and not have the ranch hands hitting on her is to tell everyone that they are married. Cassie agrees to his idea.
I loved Cassie and Shane and the chemistry between them helped make the story even more interesting. Shane's entire family made Cassie feel very welcome and that she belonged. She never really had that before so this helped her to settle in even more easily. It seemed natural in this story that Shane and Cassie would fall in love.
The author has a remarkable ability to express the details of the scenes so that the reader can vividly picture the story unfold. Cassie's Cowboy Crave had love and dangerous scenes and some surprising characters thrown in as well. I did not want to put this book down.
As westerns go, Cassie's Cowboy Crave by Kimberley Krey, is one of the better ones. The plot is laid out in the beginning with very descriptive characterizations. They are believable and want you to cheer them on. It makes you interested in their lives. Shane, on losing a bet, has to drive the 5 hour ride to the airport to pick up Cassie, the juror sent into witness protection. They decide to tell everyone they were married. The family is in on it but not the ranch hands. Shane and Cassie are attracted to each other with the magical current running between them. Worrying about the killer brothers, the one ranch intern was the one to watch. Shortly after he is arrested, the marshals come and take Cassie away again to another hide out. The jurors were compromised. Cassie and Shane don't get the chance to say goodbye. Discover the mysteries of love for yourself by reading this story.
This was a sweet and slow romance. The plot was good. Cassie had just finished a trial where she was a juror. After the trail, jurors are being murdered. Cassie didn't even have time to pack, before she was being moved to a safe house. She found herself on a ranch in Montana, and pretending to be a wife to Shane, a sexy cowboy. Shane didn't want to take advantage of the situation. He wanted to get to know Cassie, and really date her before the two became lovers. I loved the slow build up of the story. The two had instant chemistry, but they kept the relationship to only hot, slow kisses through most of the book. The book also had a bit of action, but if I tell you what happen, I might spoil the book. I wouldn't want to do that. If you want a really sweet book, with a slow pace, and sexy cowboys that work a ranch, then you may enjoy this one.
This was an enjoyable read. It is a sweet romance with kissing but no sex. I loved the characters in this book. Cassie and Shane are so cute together but the scars from their respective pasts and the situation they are in all serve to complicate their relationship. I loved the whole Emerson family and am looking forward to reading more about them and Cassie's friends. The writing of this book is very smooth and easy to read. The story flows very well and doesn't bog down anywhere. I would have liked to have seen more as to how the Langston brother's situation was handled and I might have done something a little different with it if I were writing it but I liked the story very much and if you're a fan of sweet cowboy romances you'll probably enjoy this one too.
Cassie's Cowboy Crave is a delightful western romance! Ms. Krey effectively uses her writing skills to provide a great story of a young woman who finds herself caught up in a very dangerous situation requiring her to be involved in a witness protection program which will whisk her from life in a large city to a ranch in Montana where she falls in love with the young attractive cowboy who is protecting her, with his family and their lifestyle as well. Ms. Krey skillfully captures the reader's attention from the beginning and holds it through to the conclusion. She has the ability to bring the characters to life and allows the reader to experience the emotions of romance, love and danger as the story unfolds. It's a great read!
When I got promo information for this tour, it stated that Kimberly Krey is the master of romantic tension. Holy cow! They weren't lying! It was full of delicious tension and anticipation and everything I love about a good, clean romance.
