Discover the Abundant Life of Christ! "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10B) How long are you willing to live something less than the kind of abundant life that has purchased for you at the cross of Christ? Isn't it time to conquer those hurts and failures that have distracted your attention from the face of God and place you under the control of lies that continue to lead you away from Him? Healing the Wounded Heart provides a simple and biblical approach of eliminating the obstacles that prevent you from intimacy with God and people. These obstacles You were created for for the love of God is Christ Jesus-to live a life in His presence. He has provided a way to destroy the negative influences that distract your face from His. Healing the Wounded Heart provides a gentle, "presence-driven" approach to discover WHAT negative influences control you, WHEN they are triggered, WHERE they came from, and the TRUTH that destroys the power of demonic and destructive lies we have come to believe. Healing the Wounded Heart also includes a Personal Ministry Guide to help you apply the Truth to your own life and find greater freedom in the presence of the living Christ. This experience will allow you to forgive out of compassion, uncover and break the promises you made to yourself at a time of wounding, and remove demonic strongholds in your life and your family.
This book has proven to be very significant for me, helping me to think constructively about difficult things from my childhood which have affected me (consciously or otherwise) into my adulthood. The author takes a very particular view of the reality of God's presence throughout our lives (even at the most difficult times) and the idea that healing comes from the presence of God. The book is grounded in Scripture and is practical in nature, encouraging us to think about our woundedness in seven key areas (e.g. fear, insecurity, hopelessness, etc.). The last section of the book is practical in nature and I'm planning to continue working through it or referring to it in the weeks and months to come. A valuable book.
Great book. It’s very telling for me that I can read some other genres and finish a 200+ page book in less than 2 days. This book took me 5.5 months to read. You need time to rightfully divide it and chew on what was being conveyed. There was so much to unpack. I even shared some passages from the book with family members who I thought it resonated with. Great read and I definitely will try to read it again.
I had not heard of the author before, but was intrigued by the title. I wasn't sure what to expect, and appreciated the author's note that the book was not a substitute for professional help (he suggested a particular way of counseling).
I had never heard of this person, so it engaged my skepticism when he puts himself as an expert. I found his application of most Scriptures alright, but do not think the main text he chose was needed. Either the text or the attitudes needed a bit of stretching. I am also skeptical that the names of the tribes line up with the attitudes as the author describes within the later chapters.
I think this book is excellent as a reminder of God's promises when a person has a particular attitude. I'm not as sold on the process that the author has in the "personal ministry" section, which is the last section of the book.
I've felt many of the negative thoughts overpower me in recent years. Even after having gone through Celebrate Recovery to work through these and see myself as God seems me I still found more healing with the help of this books exercises.
Really great Bible study and it was certainly needed at this point in my life. The scriptures were eye opening and the lessons really did help each day.
