“I thought I knew what I wanted but someone forgot to tell me that you have to embrace the ugly in a relationship in order to appreciate the beauty of what you have created between another person and yourself. The following is what happens when you think you can take a short cut but in life, as in love, easy doesn’t come without difficulty, and if you want love to survive, you have to fight for it each and every day.” – Sydney Lundvik
Syd and Kaz survived getting together in the most unusual of ways, a rigorous world tour and his crazy ex-wife but their relationship will be tested more than they ever thought was possible. Now that Sydney is expecting their first child and they are engaged, demons from Kaz’s past rear their ugly head and cause a catalyst that will spin their world completely out of control.
Kaz reacts in the only way he knows how and that is to shut down his emotions while contemplating a deal for Scarlet Fever that could set them up for life and finally give them the stability they need.
Meanwhile, Syd reacts to the situation in a way that is completely unbecoming and may spell the end of their relationship and the happy ending she has craved for so long.
Can two people—who have gone through the fires of lust and love—reconnect with what brought them together in the first place and make peace not only with themselves and each other or will the pressure prove too great and tear them apart for good? This is the explosive conclusion to one of the most exciting and twisted love affairs in rock history.
The order of the Scarlet Fever series is as follows: Rock My Heart (August, 2013) The Will to Love (November, 2013) Lust & Faith (January, 2014) Grant's Muse (February, 2014)

Rock My Heart is the first book in A Scarlet Fever series, a spin off from the One More Night Trilogy series that continues on with Syd and Kaz's story. You should read both series in order, and mark my words you won’t regret it, because THESE BOOKS ROCK!!!
WOW! I was not expecting some of the things that went on in this book. I was sad, shocked, angry and disappointed in some of the things that Syd and Kaz did. I'm just glad that I'm not the type to let the things they did to each other down grade my rating. You might ask…how can I do that? Well, when a book can make me feel so many things while I'm reading, that is just plain old fantastic writing!!
The heat level is very high in this book, which is always a huge plus for me. Some of these scenes with Syd and Kaz were VERY sensual, and I loved the ones where I knew that they were making love and not just f*cking! These two were definitely meant to be together and I'm glad that things worked out so well.
Once again there is a strong romantic element in this book. Kaz said some swoon-worthy things to Syd and this is just a taste of what you will get in this book.
"Baby, you're the beat of my heart. You make me want to be a stronger person because I know what I'm fighting for. You. Our son. Us. It's always been about the love we have for each other and I'll fight until the breath in my body ceases to exist. I love you and always will".
We finally got the answers for some serious secrets that Kaz was keeping from Syd. I really liked how this played out, and in the end Syd acted like and adult and not a spoiled rich bitch. I felt that both Kaz and Sydney's characters grew leaps and bounds from how they were when they first met.
In the end, I was totally satisfied with how they worked things out. There is a very happy ending that I'm sure will please everyone.
Overall, I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I am happy that this is an ongoing series, and I know without a doubt that I will continue to read these books for as long and as many as Selene Chardou writes. Now the wait in on for the next installment, The Will To Love, Will and Laurel's story that will be released in November 2013.
I HIGHLY recommend this series to readers that love to read Rock n’ Roll romances, with a little bit of motorcycle clubs, lots of well-done characters and plenty of scorching hot loving!
I have one more thing to say, Selene Chardou…you ROCK!
*A copy of the book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am truly great full I was given this opportunity to participate in one of my obsessions, Sydney and Kaz (aka Kasper) Gillian!!! Ms. Selene Chardou really gets into the spirit with this rock n roll trilogy! One of my favorite types of read:) It has angst, erotic romance and drama that makes up this kick butt trilogy. I was hooked from the first page. This couple has gone thru so many obstacles to be together and it finally paid off.....This was Syd and Kaz's AFTER happily ever after!! Every rock n roll bad boy in Scarlett Fever has an old lady and I can't wait for the next book to see what happens.
I can't stand the characters who are a bunch of hypocrites. They are doing what they tell the other not to do. They have relations with others like that's what ya do when ya love someone else. He messes with Faith that he puts down his brother for hanging out with her yet he was having sex with her. Don't care for the descriptive violence either not exactly what I would think of a rock book.
their story and I have to say I have completely mixed feelings about this book. Although I had warning that I wasn’t going to be happy with the beginning of the story, I have to say I was so mad that I almost threw my kindle against a wall. (By the way, that doesn’t happen as often as people might think it does!)
While I did enjoy the prior books, I have to say that during this book I completely enjoyed the how much Syd seemed to grow into her own in the story. She doesn’t act like the spoiled rich girl that she was in the prior books. Her actions during this book will lead you to either love her or hate her, and I have mixed emotions on her!!!
The story didn’t leave anything out, it completely answered any questions that I had after we last saw the couple. I do have to say though; I’m glad that they went through the troubles that they went through. I enjoy the stories where the couples actually go through “real life” problems. I enjoy books where the characters don’t have it “easy” and they do have problems that they have to go through in their relationships. And with this relationship, there are plenty of problems!
All in all I have to say that I was completely happy with how this book turned out. I think it was a great ending to Kaz and Syd’s relationship. If you have read the other books in the series, this is a MUST read for sure! If you haven’t read the other books, you need too!
The series picks up from where Falling into Love left off. Kaz and Sydney back from the tour. Sydney is pregnant and feeling a little overwhelmed and Kaz is struggling with what to do for the best with regards to Sydney, the band and what he wants too. He is offered a solution but stubbornly makes the decision without speaking to Syd. Drama unfolds and dire consequences occur, without spoiling anything these events will shock and surprise you but they needed to happen for the characters to evolve. The conclusion is epic and all the skeletons come falling out of the closet and I was so glad Kaz admitted his MC life finally and that Syd is not someone I'd want to mess with, one determined lady who will stop at nothing to protect her own. The ending is what we've wanted all along and it was in typical rock and roll style!! This is the first in a new series but all run the same time frame as each other.
I must Sat that this is my FAVORITE out of the series so far! I cried quite a few times during this book because when someone endures so much pain it is heartbreaking. Kaz really pissed me off quite a few times during this book. Syd she went below the belt, and even though it was hard to read, it was what Kaz had pushed her to. Sometime extreme measures are needed to make someone wake up. This book is easily one of my favorites and I read it in 24 hours. it's that Damn good. Selene Chardou writes brilliantly and has such a natural flow with all of her writing it just amazes me more with each book of hers I read. She truly has a brilliant mind, and this is why she is one of my favorite authors!
I was so excited to see this book released today! Such a great ending to Kaz and Syd's story but boy, with all the in between ups, downs, surprises and turns I literally couldn't put it down. read the whole thing today instead of what i had actually set aside today for (laundry and cleaning). This was so much more fun! Selene Chardou doesn't disappoint, yet again. The characters are real, with real issues and they are so well written. I highly recommend this book along with all the others. Can't wait to read the next in this series.
SPOILER ALERT: I liked it but the fact that they both sleep with other people is a turnoff. It seems like stupidity and simple nonsense that could be talked through gets blown up and causes them to break up all the time. So stupid. Faith is a gross whore who is ruining everyone. The end was good, I feel that they have both matured and are in a good place. Talia and Jared on the other hand... Can't wait for that story.
Maybe i'll come back to this one. Not really feeling it at the moment.. plus im mega confused as to whos who in the book lol Is this a spin-off or something?
I read Ride To Temptation first. In that book by this author it mentions the h seeping with her fiancés (who’s is in the band Scarlet Fevers) half brother So I had to read this book. In Ride to Temptation the had brother is trying to get back with his one true love and his said to have only slept with the h of this book for revenge. But in this book it says that she snuck around with his half brother until he tells her they are done. In a later book in the series with the same character the old lady of the cheating half brother ends of being the attorney of the cheating h of this book. I would not recommend any of the series this author has written because I feel there are too many loose ends. Sadly this author has passed away. RIP
