What happens when a member of nobility gets kidnapped by pirates—only to be rescued by more pirates? A really steamy boat ride, apparently.

Lady Lavinia is kidnapped, offered up as a prostitute, rescued by a vampire pirate (Captain Alexander Sword), and returned to her rightful home. O – N – L – Y, not before falling in love with said vampire pirate and he with her. So now her betrothed (Nicholas) has to decide whether to marry her and save her name before it’s sullied by the scandal or set her loose. What’s more, there’s an evil bastard brother looming about who seems to be all too interested in everyone else’s affairs.

There are schemes and villains, love affairs and Regency rules all fighting for attention in this action-packed story. The romance between Lavinia and Alexander was believable, yet I also didn’t hate Nicholas. I could truly see where it would be hard to decide where her priorities should lie. I felt like sometimes the story dragged a bit and I wanted it to hurry up; but at the same time, there was a LOT happening and just how quickly did I expect it all to take place? And despite my occasional complaint about the story dragging, I was also caught up in the suspense of wondering what would happen and who Lavinia would end up with. I thought the storyline was creative and well-thought-out; it made sense even with the mixed genres. I believed it and I enjoyed the ending.

I do have to say, I really hope the published version was edited because my review copy was majorly lacking on the editing. There were so many missing words, added words, jumbled words – it almost seemed like a sentence would be started, reworded, yet some how both versions remained all crammed into one sentence. I’m usually pretty good at overlooking editing errors when necessary but this one was really in need of some good polishing.

All in all, I rated this book 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars because of the creative and well-executed story. I did not deduct stars for editing, but if the same errors are found in the published version I expect some readers will.

Her eternal rogue was a rollercoaster ride with many hot sexy interludes along the way. Lavinia, is rescued by Alexander in return for his and his crew's freedom. Lavinia and Alexander have adventures from the very start.

I loved the way the author allowed Lavinia to be very independent and a participant in her own bid for freedom. She is no shrinking violet even though she is a noblewoman. There were times when I felt the author dwelled too much on her dreams and memories rather than what was happening in the here and now. I wish the author would have allowed her to be more decisive at the end of the book instead of having her decision made for her because she'd previously been so independent. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Lavinia was able to have a relationship with someone else in Alexander's absence but without losing her feelings for him. I wanted to see more fire in her as she stood up to the other man, Nicholas.

Alexander is a son of a nobleman turned pirate. He is the very best of what is refined and what is debauchery. I loved how he tried to always honor Lavinia and do what was best for her. He was fierce in his protection of her and each time they came together he made love to her with great intensity.

This was a great mix of love story, adventure, suspense, and intrigue. It kept me guessing up till the end and I still couldn't believe Aidan's plan and motives. I was absolutely floored. This is a must read for all lovers of romance and suspense.

Historical romance lovers looking to stroll on the darker side of the street, pay attention! Gina Danna’s Her Eternal Rogue would rock the ton back on their oh-so-proper heels if they knew that the dashing pirate that “kidnapped” one of their own was really a vampire! Talk about a genre crossover! This is the best of all worlds, travel to distant lands via the sea, political intrigue, family secrets, secrets kept from the family, a kidnap plot, the kidnap plot foiled by a pirate vampire, a deflowered lady, and the strangest family reunion ever-enough to make any bosom heave with threats of vapors coming on! Did I mention the spicy and sensual bits being intense without being overpowering?

The best thing about Her Eternal Rogue? - Gina Danna’s writing style! Ms. Danna writes with that full on old world charm, where men can be rakes, but a woman’s purity is paramount to her worthiness as a wife. The plot is amazing, no straight lines here, there is always one more twist and one more tangle, right up to that last page, which I will say, came far too soon for me! When the pace called for smooth and steady, it’s there, like a calm sea, hiding the turbulence coming.

Each character plays their part well, from the strong and gutsy Lavinia, the object of a kidnapping, a love triangle and a vampire’s love and lust, to said vampire/pirate, Alexander, a rogue, a sea captain, a gentleman and a man who thought he would be damned for eternity. We also have several other characters that will keep you guessing as to their “goodness” or “badness” right up to the very end, which I have to say had my head spinning.

A sexy swashbuckling adventure with a paranormal twist!

To avoid death by hanging, Alexander Barrington, known as the infamous Captain Sword embarks on a mission to rescue Lady Lavinia Sinclair from the French pirates who kidnapped her. What he doesn’t bargain for is falling for the beautiful woman he is sworn to protect. Lavinia might be this pirate’s ticket to freedom, but it’s his heart is what is soon on on the line when she awakens forbidden desires in Alexander that are too strong to ignore.

Her Eternal Rogue brings two of my favorite things together, vampires and pirates! The story starts off with plenty of action, pirates and smexiness. Alexander and Lavinia are instantly drawn to each other and waste no time heating up the pages! I was a little surprised to see the level of passion so early on in the book and while I admit it was beyond sexy between these two, I would have enjoyed more flirty banter and sexual tension as a foundation to their developing romance, instead of the insta-love we’re given.

Livinia isn’t my favorite kind of heroine, she’s demure and proper which goes with the time, but I wanted a bit more spark from her when she is in the company of Alexander. I don’t blame the woman for falling into the arms of the sexy vampire pirate but her constant thoughts of her fiance back home made me question how she claimed to love Alexander at times. I honestly thought she couldn’t redeem herself in my eyes and then she proved me wrong by becoming the independent leading lady, halfway through the book when she decides she’s willing to fight for her love. Her character lacked consistency for me but Livinia turned out to be stronger than I expected.

The hero, Alexander is every romance reader’s fantasy! He’s an equal mix of a bad boy and gentleman. This rogue pirate is tall, dark, handsome and dangerous. Alexander is a hero with somewhat of a dark past which comes back to haunt him as the story progresses. I instantly loved his character and how he struggles with being a vampire in a world of humans. He will steal your heart with his protective nature and have you reaching for some ice with his sexiness in the bedroom! I never questioned his love for Lavinia and rooted for him the entire time.

Whether you’re a lover of rakes or like your heroes with a dark side, Her Eternal Rogue delivers a thrilling adventure with suspense, secrets, romance, heartbreak and yes, even villains! The author excels at torturing her characters (you cruel woman! <3), but the intrigue will keep you turning the pages to uncover the mystery. Ms. Danna has crafted a delightful tale that will leave you swooning and wanting a vampire pirate of your very own!

Quick summary: Lady Lavinia is kidnapped by French pirates who intend to sell her into prostitution, rescued by a hunky vampire pirate "Captain Alexander Sword", falls in love with the vampire pirate Sword and is returned home to her betrothed Nichols with no memory of Captain Alexander Sword and what they did together and now she has a hole in her heart and has no idea why.

NaughtyBookSnitch

What an exciting and imaginative story! There was NEVER a dull moment in this book. This is my first regency, paranormal, pirate romance and let me just say... WOW! Where have these books been hiding and where can I find more?

Lavinia Sinclair grated on my nerves a little at first and I think maybe because of this era she is proper and looks down her nose at people who are not in the same station as her. I know... this is true to the time and the way people are supposed to act. Of course that is not her entire personality but there were a few times where she acted this way. However, Lavinia and Alexander together worked for me and let me just say it was hot and I love them both.

Lavinia
NaughtyBookSnitch

Alexander Sword the vampire pirate, alpha male who claims Lavinia for his own while on his ship to protect her from his pirate crew. He was brought up in proper society until the age of 15 so he knows how to be a perfect gentleman on the outside and when he really needs to put on the charm. Don't let that fool you. He is an alpha bad boy through and through, who will take what he wants.

Alexander
description

Alexander and Lavinia's romance was believable and I hurt and loved for both of them. At times I really didn't like Nicholas (Lavinia's betrothed) but then his internal turmoil about Lavinia and their situation made me feel sorry for him and made me understand what he was going through. With that being said that is no excuse for some of the things he did.

Overall, I'm giving it 4.5 stars and only because Otherwise, fan-flipin-tastic! Sex, story, romance, action and suspense and did I mention the SEX... is amazing! I will definitely be reading more from this author.

3.5 Solid Stars

I really enjoyed this book. I did. It was interesting and sexy.

Alexander is a pirate that is cursed and demand for eternity. When he is hired to rescue the kidnapped Lavinia, he didn't know the trouble he was getting into until he bought the British irresistible woman onto his ship. Lavinia isn't just trouble, but she also manages to steal the vampire pirates heart. Unfortunately Alexander knows that she is promised to another and he will have to let her go.

I couldn't put the book down. It really did keep my attention and I enjoyed the storyline and it's characters. There was some flaws of course, but the good won out.

What I really enjoyed.

1. Alexander. He was just awesome. I haven't read a good historical romance with pirates in it in a while, so boy was I glad to get my hands on this one. Love pirates, love Alexander. When his curse came up of course I thought it would be something different then just vampire, but somehow it worked and tied in well in all of this!
2. The plot. Was easy to follow and was actually interesting. Kept my glued to the pages, had a hard time putting it down.

What I wasn't very sure about.

1. It was a bit jumpy...Scattered. The decisions the characters made, and then the way they changed their mind within the few seconds left me a little frustrated. Especially in a few parts of the book which I won't get into. I wish it was more then just no I wont.. Not I cannot.. Okay I'll do it! Especially in the end.
2. The ending.. baffled me a little in two places - once again nothing I can get into without spoilers but when Lavinia had to make a decision it was odd for Nicholas to change his mind so quickly. And I was confused about how it went from there especially since Alexander was a vampire and she was not.
3. The baby thing...huh?

Anyway

Otherwise, I did enjoy it. Was a good romantic read that left you swooning.

Her Eternal Rogue is probably not the usual sort of historical romance that I read. It has a vampire pirate as the hero.

Lavinia Sinclair, daughter of a Viscount has been kidnapped in the West Indies and Alexander Barrington; Captain Sword is enlisted to rescue her. The setting and flavour of the story is very much Pirates of the Caribbean, which I really enjoyed. The growing love (and lust) between Lavinia and Alex is really well written and believable. Alex’s struggle with loving Lavinia, but knowing that they could never have a future had me turning the pages. My only complaint to this point of the story was the Scottish crew mate who had such a thick accent that I struggled to read his sections of dialogue. I would have preferred being told he was Scottish and leaving it at that.

I really did feel that I was on board Alex’s ship and Gina Danna set a strong scene with the heat and colour of the Caribbean. Midway through the book, the story moves to London. Unfortunately this is where I came close to putting the book down. The historical inaccuracies had me shaking my head. Women could not and to this day, cannot inherit English titles, nor can illegitimate sons. The sudden appearance of a third illegitimate son (who was also inheriting land and titles) was just too contrived for me. The second half of the story was not as strongly written as the first, and too many easily explained away coincidences, such as a quickie marriage annulment, let me as a reader down.

Her Eternal Rogue is a fun read, just be prepared to accept that the rules don’t apply when the hero is a sexy vampire pirate.

I've never read a pirate romance before but after this one it will definitely not be my last! This book is packed full of action and adventure. It's a fantastic mixture of historical romance and paranormal romance with some pretty risque sex scenes in there. It made it very interesting and kept me immersed in the story until the end. I was really impressed with the authors ability to pack so much into this book without making me feel like it's too much. I mean kidnappings, rescues, death, travel, marriage...there was a lot going on and I managed to not feel overwhelmed.

I loved Lavinia and Alexander both separate and together! Alexander is the wicked pirate and Lavinia is the proper lady, yet still they complement each other very well. I loved that Lavinia could hold her own, if not in strength then in mind. She's a very strong character!

All in all this was a fast fun read! I really enjoyed this authors writing style because she didn't just give us the two main characters pov but also quite a few others. It really helped the story develop. There were a few parts I felt weren't needed, they just made the story drag on but it didn't happen too often so it can be overlooked. Especially after that crazy dramatic ending! I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author in the future, maybe more pirates? ;)

Why is is that every vampire hero hates who he is? Or, rather, what he is? It’s a running trend in books and television - Edward from Twilight, Angel from the Buffy TV show, Louis in Interview with the Vampire, and then some. Now, there are those that revel in their otherworldliness, but they often have to be redeemed somehow by the heroine, to agree that human is better. I have to admit to being a bit tired of the trope. Here, it was an interesting take - a man who was both a pirate and a vampire against his will? It keeps everything on equal footing, providing an interesting balance for our vampire pirate hero, Alexander.

Alexander Claymore Barrington, also known as the infamous pirate Captain Sword (get it? Claymore? Sword?) has been given a task - find and rescue the heiress Lavinia Sinclair, and he and his crew will be pardoned. Lavinia has been kidnapped by a French pirate, Jean Baptiste Forcheau, and, as we find out shortly, will be sold shortly to a wealthy gentleman. After a series of kidnappings (Alexander and Jean Baptiste basically swap custody of Lavinia back and forth for a bit), Alexander saves Lavinia and destroys the enemy pirate camp. And that’s when the real story begins.

I’m going to start out by saying that this is not my normal type of read. In fact, I didn't even read the synopsis until I finished the book. I probably would not have read it, based on my normal taste. But what is normal now?

This book was just great! It was well written and got me hooked from the beginning and kept me there. As I said, I didn't read the synopsis, so I’m going along reading a pirate story with a beautiful captive woman…and suddenly it’s a vampire story mixed in. It works for wonderfully, and had me the whole way.

If you like a nice high-seas adventure, this is it. You like a nice romantic vampire story, this is it. You just want some romance with a little paranormal story line, you found it. And if none of that is your comfort zone, try it anyway: you might be as surprised as I was at how much you like it.

My favorite part about this is that it does what a real story should do: it makes you forget everything around you and sucks you into the story so you think you are right there! I would look up with a glazed look after reading about Alexander rescuing Lavinia to realize that I was not on board a pirate ship headed for trouble.

Bravo, Gina, on a great story!

This was a creative blend of light paranormal and regency romance, and it was awesome.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for my review, but as always, all opinions remain my own.

The character's were interesting, and I loved stepping into each of their shoes. Getting to view history is a wonderful experience and the only thing that could make it better is a time machine. Out of it all though, I liked the real sense that each brought to the table.

The romance between Lavinia and Alexander was hot. I loved the tension.

The world worked, even with the vampires and voodoo. They were rather light touches so this might make a good cross over novel for someone who enjoys regency, but not quite sure about paranormal. Of course if you love both genres, like I do, then it's a darn good read.

What didn't work for me ... honestly, the end. I don't do spoilers, so no specifics. It didn't ruin the experience, but I found it odd. Then again, I didn't create the characters, and I'm #provampirism :) I'll still keep an eye on this author, and I suspect I'm not the only one.

Lady Lavinia found herself captured by French Pirates. She was soon to be rescued, but by another pirate Alexander. She was not sure who she could trust, but when the Lady fell to her almost death and Alexander came to her rescue she had to trust him. The maiden, was having feelings for the Pirate but did not want to get to close, something was off about him, but she did not realize yet what. She would soon find out this pirate had many secrets.

I normally would not have picked regency as a genre to read, boy am I glad I did. I saw the book had vampires and pirates and the combination intrigued me. It was a great read. You have love, lust, vampires, pirates and of course the bad guy. The book had many layers to it and I found it thrilling to read. I loved the authors style of writing. The reader gets the point of view from many different characters. The story overlaps without feeling like you are reading the same thing over again. I really enjoyed this book, and I would recommend to a regency book lover and I would suggest paranormal book lovers give this book a try.

Gina Danna's book Her Eternal Rogue is a wonderful foray into the best combination of historical and paranormal romance.
The hero Alexander, is the perfect blend of brooding vampire fleshed out with an excellent backstory and not to mention he's just sexy as hell! He's a great hero that any romance lover will fall for him and the tragic circumstances of his situation.

I think what makes this book so great though is the natural chemistry Alexander has for the heroine Lady Lavinia. I feel the love story is believable and their relationship from start to finish just really pulled me in, which considering this book is about vampire pirates? That's a great thing!

This book will have you laughing and tearing up in parts and just fascinated for the rest of it. I recommend it to any one who loves historical romances or paranormal romances. If you're a reader from either genre, you'll find the mixture of the two genres works seamlessly and perfectly to give you a great story and you'll find yourself wishing there were more vampire pirate stories out there!

Who can resist a good pirate love story? Certainly not me. I’m a fan of all the Pirate of the Caribbean movies, the pirate ride at Disneyland, and any romance involving a pirate. So I am pretty critical when it comes to these stories, and this one did not disappoint.

I loved that Her Eternal Rogue combined several genera of storytelling into one great story. There was a kidnapping, blackmail, extortion, vampires, romance, erased memories (and I would have keelhauled him when I found out about it), a love triangle (although it was pretty one-sided), pirate fights, and high society. The author expertly weaves all these different topics together into one excellent story.

I give this story 4.5 out of 5 clouds.

Her Eternal Rogue is not your usual historical romance it has the added twist of a vampire as the hero. I enjoyed this book even more because of this.

The story is fast moving with plenty of romance thrown in, the main characters are likeable and the villain of the book is a great one. There are a couple of twists which give a good edge to the story.

I would recommend this book to any fans of historical romance who like a bit of intrigue thrown in to the mix. The added extra of the vampire theme really helped to make this an above average romance story.

Thank you for my Goodreads First Reads copy.

STOP! IF COPIOUS TYPOS BOTHER YOU, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. Did anyone actually edit it? What's up with that? I can't even name one example. The errors were littered throughout the book.
With that said, I loved the idea of a vampire pirate...especially one as sexy as our Alexander...
I enjoyed this book even as it spiraled into a crazy, drama twist fest. At first, nothing was happening, then there was danger, then there was an attempt to be normal by the heroine...I was like, wait what?! There were some things I didn't understand and felt were just thrown in there. Frankly, it was all over the place, but I did like it. Wish there were more vampire historicals. Sigh.

Doubly delicious - a Vampire Pirate hero a sweet seductive heroine and intrigue on the high seas.

Ms. Danna's debut novel is a page-turning force of unnatural sexiness. The chemistry between Alex and Lavinia is off the charts. The action is well placed and always ups the stakes. The story tension built to the climax and left me feeling completely satisfied. Ms. Danna knows well how to exquisitely torture her characters (and readers). She is a voice to watch and I can't wait for more.

A delicious story of a vampire pirate that makes you swoon. A unique concept, one I haven't read before, so kudos to the author for that.

The chemistry between Lavinia and Alexander is way hot. And they take you on a roller-coaster of emotions with all the obstacles in their path and you feel for them. Ms Danna has a genuine knack for torturing characters, but she wraps all up so wonderfully.
A great read.

This was a fun read right from the first page. In Her Eternal Rogue, author Gina Danna finds a magical blend of romance, suspense and action. Danna is a natural storyteller and you can tell she had a great time writing this book – I mean vampires, pirates, sex and adventure . . . what a blast. But she can write – the characters are well developed and the plot twists are surprising. It’s really good, you’ll have a great time. Recommended – five stars!

A pirate who happens to be a vampire! Need I say more?! It was hard to put this book down once I started reading. Formatting problems aside, the writing was stilted, I could not visualize the Hero or the heroine as anything other than cardboard characters. Got to Chapter 3, ent to the end of the book and agreed with my first instinct--I just closed the book.
