Beautifully practical.
I think that's the best way I can describe this book.
It takes practicality to a whole new level.
This is the most unique crochet book
I have ever seen.

Now this book isn't just a crochet book,
it uses other materials and methods
to take your crocheted projects to a
whole new level.

You will learn everything from using
leather to create handles and other fasterners
as well as fabric to create linings and bases.

This book has also been designed to inspire
men as well as women.
It's designed to appeal to men to bring
them into the crochet movement.

The book is split into section:
Home
Clothes
Travels
Equipment
Basic Instructions
Maintenance

Each of the designs are practical,
imaginative and well thought out.
You will be amazed by the amount of
projects that are held within the book.

With each project there are step-by-step
instructions as well as pictures
to support you.

The crochet patterns are in written format
but there are also charts for so of the designs.

I love the different materials that are
used within the book and I really
like the way they are used with the
crochet patterns to create extremely practical items.

There are quite a lot of projects that
are very masculine but there are also fun
and interesting ones as well.

There are some cute patterns for children,
I especially love the bee game.


The thing that most excites me is the
idea of following the instructions
to whittle your own crochet hook.
I am hoping this book will inspire
my son a bit more to learn to crochet.

This is such a beautiful and practical crochet book...

with a look of Bohemia about it. The projects are all full of rustic charm and all very useful.

I love that all the designs have a story connected to them, and  even how to 'whittle a crochet hook' has an interesting few pages.  Crochetterie is a calming and mindful book, with basic instructions and easy to follow patterns, Molla Mills has even included a stretch yoga exercise for those of who sit for a long time absorbed in our craft.

This is a heavy hardback book, but it is rather delightful, beautifully photographed and probably the best thing about it, is that it is designed for men as well as women to use and enjoy. 

Home, Clothes and Travels are specific sections that have bold patterns with strong graphics. I feel it will appeal to everyone who loves crochet. 

Along with the usual 'what you need' and crochet stitches and 'how to'  this book will invaluable for every level of crocheter. 

Crochetterie is a contemporary and stylish book expertly put together.

Tantangan baca GRI bulan Januari 2019 - buku tentang hobi.

Sebenernya saya sudah sempat baca buku ini karena ini adalah kado ulang tahun saya tahun lalu. Tapi kayaknya tahun lalu bacanya sambil lalu, gak gitu baca beneran karena tahun lalu memang mengurangi crochet-an. Baru deh di baca lagi dalam minggu ini.

Buku ini berisi lengkap. Bukan cuma ada foto-foto hasil karya crochetnya, polanya, bahannya sampe printilan yang mengikutinya, kayak butuh furingnya, risleting dsb, jadi kita benar-benar bisa bikin sendiri dari mulai crochetnya sampe tali dan dalemnya. Selain gambar yang cakep banget, polanya cakep-cakep gitu dan untuk berbagai keperluan/kebutuhan.

Buku ini dibagi menjadi 7 bagian yaitu : Home, Clothes, Travels, Equipment, Basic Instruktuctions dan Maintenance. Semuanya cakep bener dah, dari tas, topi, sepatu, cushion, storage basket, rug pokoknya banyak dan bisa dipake cowok dan cewek.

Tinggal menyempatkan waktunya aja nih buat bikin-bikin karya crochet lagi.

Crochetterie: Cool Contemporary Crochet for the Creatively Minded proves to many out there that this art and crafts fiber creation form is not just for Grandmas. Hip, cool, and classy are the labels I place on this book and the people that chose to use it! I’ve just scratched the surface on the art of Crochet but feel with this book that I’ll be well on my way to create 30 projects that loudly proclaim contemporary style in such a fabulous way.

Finnish designer and blogger Molla Mills brings together patterns that work for Home Decorating, Being On The Go, To Wear any place, and to Utilize as a practical accessory. There are patterns that work well for both men and women. I like coming across unisex patterns because I so often feel that guys get left out in most books for fiber crafts. I like how unique yet simple and practical the designs and pattern styles are. Think rustic, think hipster, think gentlemen, it’s all delightfully here.

There are hats, bags, passport holder, utility straps, bow ties ( squee!), rugs, posters ( yes, word art!), games, mittens, and more. I like the variety! There’s some here to make even for the hardest person to gift something to, trust me! I’m excited to hunker down for the winter season and crank out some of these great designs.

I feel a beginner or a more advanced crocheter will get a lot out of this book. The tips and information are on key. The advice on seeming, joining, adding things like zippers and more is all covered well in writing and in full-color photo images. Nothing is intimidating in the least bit. I mean there’s 20 whole pages in the back of the book dedicated to making sure you get it. It covers more than you find in instruction that most how to crochet books from the basics to more advanced techniques.

I for one really appreciate how well this book is compiled. It’s really a bargain when you take into consideration all its fine features. I mean it even goes so far as to instruct you how to make your own crochet hook if the need arises or if it’s something you desire. How awesome is that really? The patterns, instructions, and the short inspirations and stories throughout the book make this one you’ll want to turn to again and again! I highly recommend it! It’s those fine little touches all brought together that make something extra special… kinda like a beautiful hand crocheted item full of many components!

Comprar um novo livro da Molla Mills é quase irresistível porque as instruções são claras, as fotos bem produzidas e os projetos interessantes. Nessa nova publicação o padrão se repete, mesmo que alguns dos 31 projetos não sejam exatamente adequados a quem vive em regiões tropicais - como o porta-lenhas, as luvas e sapatilhas - ou até um pouco curiosos - como uma capa para alto-falantes ou uma sacola para bola de futebol. As ideias vão desde os tapetes, a bolsa para bicicleta ou tapete de yoga até o joguinho para crianças. No fim, exercícios de alongamento para crocheteiros e até como fazer sua própria agulha de madeira. Só sinto falta, e isso é recorrente em muitos livros do tipo, da indicação do TEX dos fios utilizados, uma vez que a maioria das marcas são difíceis de encontrar a especificação tornaria a tarefa de encontrar fios locais equivalentes mais simples. De qualquer forma, uma satisfação ter e usar esse novo livro.

While this book gave me a lot of great ideas, I think it's a bit too masculine for my tastes, though it will be a fantastic book to make stuff for my lovely male humans! I also am way too inept with a sewing machine, would probably find a way to stab my eye out with a leather punch, and can't ride a bicycle to save my life... so the bike bags would be completely useless to me! This is so Scandi, so hipster, and so cool, but I fear I'm just not the target market for this one.

This is crochet for the masculine hipster who likes a Scandinavian vibe. I like the two tone geometric patterns of many of the items but can't say I would make any of them. I'm not cool enough for the irony of a death metal meets granny crochet wall hanging and I think if I crocheted my father a log carrier he would laugh at me. Not saying it's a bad book. Great pictures,. lots of possibly useful projects,. good clear instructions but just not for me.

Hienoja ja käyttökelpoisia virkkausohjeita. Kirjan ilme on kaunis ja selkeä, voisi sanoa kirjoittajansa näköiseksi, sikäli usein neiti Mills (ja asuntonsa) kuvissa vilahtaa. Ohjeissa olisi voinut olla enemmän värejä, vaikka voihan nuo ohjeet toteuttaa niin kuin itse haluaa.
