4.0 "MITTENS" STARS!!!

Holy shit this book!!!This book that got me invested right from beginning 'til the end! It's riduculously funny...heartwarming...enjoyable...sexy as sin and hot as hell. I just went from laughing and swooning and ahhh...all the feels!!!, Because seriously I can't form any coherent words right now as I'm still on an AMANDA COWEN HIGH!

Perfect Sense follows the story of Quinn Ashby, the other daughter of Santa Ana Tornado and it's affiliate Bexley Bruisers' President. Looking for an internship while waiting for her admission to Harvad for her MBA she landed on working as the new employee of Marketing and Promotions Department for the Bruisers. But all hell break loose when the Bruisers sex on the legs new shortstopper, who was once a first round draft pick to the National Hockey League...ranked #1 Sexiest Male Athlete by Cosmopolitan and #3 Most Eligible Bachelor in Sports by Business Insider Cash Brookes sets his eyes on her. But their attraction to each other is just so strong that no matter how hard she fights the temptation that is Cash threatening her future, she was forced to choose....

...will their growing attraction enough or will she leave for good?

Oh damn! I seriously love this book. The chemistry of Cash and Quinn is just so amazing and I was lost into their story not wanting it to end. More than the humor, heat and sexiness of this book lies a very strong storyline with angst and drama. That pull as you started reading is so strong that you'll get to be intrigue and curious as the story progresses. The twists and turns...the secrets yet unfold surprised me and I never did expect it. I was just staring at my reader not knowing what to do or feel making me more anxious and there's something with it that I was looking forward.Trust me, When you get to read this book you will know what I'm talking about.

All I can say right now after reading the book, everything made PERFECT SENSE. What doesn't make sense to me is the fact that my heart keeps pounding and racing...emotion is all over and then I was thrown into that big CLIFFY!!! Seriously????I was really so blind that I keep on turning the pages that wasn't even there.

Oh my, Amanda Cowen I hate you but I love you and I really do need the next book right now. Seriously I'll be stalking you!

There was a whole lot of this:

mancrying

and this:

groupies

Yup. That groupie (or puck bunny in this case) love.

Honestly, the book was full of drama, which at least helped to keep things interesting.

I couldn't connect with either of the main characters. Quinn was supposed to be depicted as a good girl, a daddy-pleaser, but to me, she came off as weak, judgmental and condescending. Cash was what the stereotypical star athlete would be. Narcissistic, arrogant, inconsiderate, alpha, and promiscuous.

The two of them together made no sense. How they even hooked up is still a mystery to me. How does one give oneself to a guy who constantly flaunts his conquests, much less fall in love with hiim??? I was baffled while reading this entire story.

The book's ending was left unfinished in anticipation of the second book of the series, Perfect Love, which is slated to come out in 2017. I'll be reading that because I just have to know how the author is going to redeem her characters.

I finished this book even though I wanted to DNF in the first 30%. Cash was just gross, a total slutty playboy (and not in the fun way, but more the degrading way) and other than how hot everyone thought he was, I saw nothing to recommend him. I get that hes meant to be some sort of tortured hero with a complex but this trope can be and has been done a lot better than this elsewhere.
I get this is a romance novel and his pursuit of Quinn was meant to be some form of alpha romantic shit that should make me swoon but seriously it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Like seriously, what kind of guy kisses a girl when she explicitly says no? That was some rapist shit right there and I honestly can't deal with that sort of 'hero'. I did finish the book, even though I was mostly skimming near the end and it really didn't get much better, not enough to redeem it anyway. Cash did show a softer side when he took Quinn on the getaway but still it didn't make up for my total lack of understanding of how they got to that position in the first place and all his secrets. And really, his actions later on in the book ruined it anyway. I mean seriously he expects her to give up Harvard to follow him because quote "She could get an MBA from anywhere"? I mean seriously I just couldn't understand why Quinn didn't kick him to the curb right then and there but I guess after she took all his other bullshit, I'm not sure why I'm surprised.
I won't be reading the next book in this series even though I am slightly curious about what that last scene was all about because this book was torture enough.

I give up. It's so hard for me to really get into this book. I'm not a fan of the author's writing style. The whole time it felt like I was reading a One Direction fanfiction.

I hated both Hero and the heroine. The hero is a manwhore doesn't know the meaning of the word no. The heroine is an annoying, holier than thou little shit who has internalized mysogynism.

Just no.

The cover and the synopsis was what immediately attracted me to the book, I knew that I had to read it right away, and let me tell you that it did not disappoint at all. Not having read any other works by the author before, I wasn't sure what to expect of the book as whole, but the minute I started reading the first chapter I couldn't stop reading.

Right from the very beginning we get to meet Quinn Ashby, a college grad that has spent the last four years away from her father and younger sister. Having graduated top of her class, Quinn is looking to gain work experience by getting an internship before getting into Harvard. But things did not go as she expected them when her relationship ended and her plans began to crumble right before her eyes. It was then that Quinn decided to go back to California and to her family just until things could got better. Which brings us back to how the book starts with Quinn and her sister attending a hockey match. It is then that Quinn meets the heartthrob that has fans screaming his name on top of their lungs at the game, Cash Brooks.

It only took one look from Cash to have Quinn questioning what she really wanted, but it is her stubborn personality that tries to resist Cash and that makes her irresistible to him. When she gets an opportunity as the new marketing coordinator for the Bexley Bruisers, Quinn is ready to work and make her father proud, but soon she starts too much time with the team especially Cash. His advances distract her and the more time she spend with him, the more she wants to deny her growing feelings for him. But soon secrets start to reveal themselves and she has decide whether Cash is worth it or not.

Cash Brooks knows that he is hard to resist, his looks and his skills have taken him far. Yet his past is what keeps bringing him down, and if he is not careful he could lose it all, including the girl that might just be the one for him. His whole future could change, and it is up to him to learn to move on before it's too late. I completely loved the characters in the book, Cash is dreamy and swoon worthy that made the book that much more enjoyable to read. It was evident from the very beginning that his relationship with Quinn was going to be fun to read, he has the perfect playful personality that had me rooting for their relationship until the very end. Quinn is such a relatable character, all she wants to is to make her father proud, and be the best that she can be. She is so focused on her future that she doesn't really see what's around her sometimes, but as soon as she meets Cash everything starts to change for her.

The whole book has a playful vibe that it's hard to stop reading it. Another thing that I liked about the story is how there are many twists and turns that when I got to the end of the book I couldn't believe how it actually ended! You will not see it coming, so if you are looking for a playful yet romantic story full of twists and turns then I would highly recommend reading this book. I cannot wait to read what happens next with the characters and to read more from the author. ; )

**Josie's Review 4.5 STARS**

Oh my word, this book was just simply amazing! You know when you read a book that leaves you feeling speechless and you can’t express fully what you feel, that is how I feel at this very moment. Perfect Sense is the perfect mix of angst, romance, drama, secrets, laughs and two strong loving complexed characters. The story itself is very engaging from the very start to the very last page. Once I started this book I could not stop.

Quinn was the perfect Heroine. She is so strong, determined and focused. She is witty and not easily swayed, which is why when she first meets Cash she does not fall for his charms. Quinn turned him down at every turn, and let me tell you the man bought his A game, but it did not work for Quinn. Quinn knew his game, his reputation proceeded him and she was not going to be just another notch on his bed post.

What follows is a funny game of cat and mouse. The banter between Cash and Quinn was so refreshing. Cash saw something different in Quinn and he was determined to get her. Once Cash gains Quinn’s trust, what followed was one steamy, heavy and intense relationship. Quinn was an open book and she held nothing back where Cash was concerned, but sadly that was not the case with Cash.

We do not get Cash’s POV in this story, but we do get to see his desperation and need for Quinn through the writing. The distrusting and insecure people they are today are the results of their traumatic pasts and that really broke my heart for them. Cash choice not to open completely to her really caused some issues between them. He knew that once his truth came out he would lose Quin forever and that was something he could not tolerate. When the ugly truth and Cash’s insecurities comes head on, Quinn is forced to make some life changing decisions. Will Cash lose Quinn forever? Will Quinn be able to see past Cash’s lies and secrets and forgive him?

I really loved this story. I’d definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to see what the author brings out next.

I couldn't put this book down and when I had to, I couldn't wait to pick it back up again. Here's the kicker, you would have thought it was because I absolutely loved it, but that isn't quite right. It definitely snagged my attention so kudos to the author for that, but I had issues with both characters. Cash was a serious man-whore with secrets, and the final one was a doozy. I actually just figured out what was coming, but am still lost as to the why. I get it has to do with guilt, but there has to be more to what would lead him to make such a monstrous decision. My issues with him stem from those bad decisions, and the fact that he didn't understand where she was coming from, but expected her to deal with his issues. I just wasn't sure what I felt for him. As for Quinn, who walks away without asking "why / WTF"? And that is after I spent a bit of time sighing over her infatuation / denial throughout the book. I give her credit for sticking to her guns regarding her dreams, but her daddy issues rubbed me the wrong way. That isn't to say that I didn't enjoy enough of the story to become invested in what happens next, it just means that these characters need a bit of a reality check or I may end up pulling out my hair in frustration by the end of the series.

I went to get the link to this duet, and realized that most of the reviewers had the opposite reaction to this series than I did 👀😅... what else is new? 😂 This looked like a homerun for me: Sport romance with drama, that's the ish I like! 😍 3.5 ⭐️s

What l loved:

• In book 1, the H is an aggressively j/p professional hockey player - so basically a unicorn in the sport romance genre - he's a cocky manhooaar with bulldozer tendencies 😍 #alphaholesaremyjam

• I loved how he pursues her relentlessly

• I loved the OW drama plot twist

• good smexxual tension

• I love that she made him work for it

• I appreciated that her panties didn't just disintegrate when he shot her a cocky grin

• I liked that she told him she was grossed out by his manhooaar ways

• there is a separation but it is relatively short - months, not years

• loads of drama #imadramahoooaar

What I didn't like:

• she has just graduated her 1st 4 years of college, and now she wants to go on to a graduate degree - so she's just on the cusp too old for my reading preferences.... and don't you know it, there's career drama here. 🙄

• there is not a single mention of condoms. None. No one mentions or questions protection of any kind. Not even a passing question about birth control. Now, typically, I love it when they don't use condoms. 😍 I love it when they have the conversation about whether or not he's gonna use a condom and he's all like, "not with you. You'll be my first. I don't want anything between us" or something swoony of that nature.... but here? It really grossed me out. This man is having smexx with multiple partners any given night before he hooks up with the h. He is the epitome of manhoooaaar and she is fully aware of his shenanigans.... and yet, neither one of them thinks of protection. 👀 I would have loved that scene where he tells her he'd never put her at risk, and then makes a conscious choice to not use a condom... but I guess diseases and babies don't exist in this fictional world??? 👀 #allthesideeye

• they are separated for several months, but they never talk about what went down with other partners while they were apart 🙄 You guessed it, they jump back into unprotected smexx again.

• Book 1 was full of delicious aggressive alpha male... but book 2 he was turned into a whiney drunken passive mess - he eventually pulls his head out of his @$$, but we never again get that cocky charming bulldozer that we fell in love with in the 1st book 😕

• the entire first 30% of book 2 they aren't together. They don't even have a conversation.

• the only reason they get back together is because of a fluke accident. Not because the H said "eff this"

• I kept being pulled out of the story because what she was writing in the intimate scenes didn't seem possible. I kept having to reread passages to figure out what the heck they were doing. 😅

• there's some preachy PSA kind of stuff about substance abuse in book 2. It's handled awkwardly. I felt like I was watching a Just Say No video in junior high gym class. 😂

Bottom line? Book 1 was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. I loved the H. and was so happy to be reading about an aggressive athlete. Book 2 was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. All the ish I loved about the H in the first book was gone. It's funny, but it looks like most readers scored it the other way around. They didn't like his aggressiveness in book 1 and preferred him emasculated in book 2. So... whatevs. 😅 We like what we like. 🤷‍♀️ So, the duet gets 3.5 ⭐️ from me.

⚠️For the Safety Squad⚠️

• OW/OM drama galore

• he may have been with at least one OP while they were apart. It's left ambiguous and the h never asks

• the h starts a relationship with OM while they are apart but they do not have smexx

• no sharing

• no dubcon/noncon

Anyone who knows me in the book world or those following my reviews knows that I am a sucker for sports romance. But, there is just something about a sexy as sin, hotter than hell, hockey player. When I see a storyline that centers around a hockey player it's like a flashing light goes off in my brain. Buy me, read me, devour me...lol So, when I was given the opportunity to read and review Perfect Sense for the upcoming blog tour and release of book 2 (Perfect Love), I jumped all over it.

This is the first book that I have read by Amanda Cowen and I must say I was so glad that I had the next book in the series to start right after it. I damn near threw my kindle across the room. What an ending. I guess I should state that this book had me hooked from the first few chapters. Quinn Ashby has just graduated for Penn and is waiting to see if she has been accepted into Harvard to obtain her MBA, when she accepts a position with the Bexley Bruisers in the marketing and promotions department. Quinn has spent the past several years away from her father and younger sister. Now she has come home to hopefully pick up the pieces of her life and move forward. Well, that all seems to change when she meets one of the hottest stars in the league and Bruisers shortstopper Cash Brookes.

Cash knows he has life literally by the balls. He is an amazing hockey star and a dirty womanizer to boot. I have a thing for dirty talking hockey players and Cash delivers. His character is strong and determined to be the best that he can on the ice. When it comes to women he likes to play with the puck-bunnies, that is until he sees Quinn and his world is tilted off its axis.

The chemistry between these two is crazy hot, there is plenty of laugh out loud moments and it is filled with a roller coaster ride of emotions. And the ending with have you going crazy like I said before I was so glad I had book 2 waiting for me to start, otherwise, I might have really thrown my kindle. So, glab a comfortable spot and part your butt for a few hours and begin the journey that is Cash and Quinn's story.

As a reader who enjoys sports-themed romances I always celebrate a new addition to the genre. With this tale of a bad boy with a very dark past and a good girl struggling to stay that way readers are taken on a very rocky journey that's only just beginning with this series starter. While there's much to recommend this book there's also a bit of roughness to the narrative and a few issues with the heroine that left me frustrated but still enjoying this story on a whole.

Quinn had a rough childhood with an alcoholic mother struggling with a mental disorder and a father more concerned with appearances than dealing with the problems. It forced her into growing up far too quickly, thrust into the role of an adult, where her main goal was being perfect in the eyes of her father. While her sister was allowed to live her life as she saw fit, Quinn lived a life according to her father. She pushed her dreams aside to become the daughter he dreamed of and there were still many times where it didn't satisfy him. He always seemed to find fault with her and she simply responded with a smile, letting him walk all over her and use his disappointment to crush her spirit. It's not until she meets bad boy hockey player, Cash, that she finally starts living. Being with him brings out her wild side, makes her more likable as she becomes less judgmental. She becomes more vibrant in his presence and I found her more sympathetic as she opened up to Cash. It's too bad that her father's negative feelings regarding love have tainted her outlook on love and constantly have her doubting Cash. I had hoped that Cash would've given her the strength to live her own life but ultimately readers are left hanging as to her HEA.

Cash too has lived a life full of loss and it's left him bruised, battling addictions and desperate to find a purpose beyond hockey. While he's still at the top of his game his off-the-ice actions are putting his career in jeopardy. Fear, anger, and grief combine to make him self-destructive and have left him with a reputation he can't seem to shake. It's a reputation of being a partying womanizer who everyone loves to hate for all his fights on and off the ice. Though he loves giving his fans what they want he's tired of living a lie. The moment he meets Quinn though he finally feels alive, no longer needing his vices just to feel something. Though they're complete opposites they fit together perfectly as she gives him a reason to be a better man while he lets her embrace the wild side of life and do what she's always longed to do. Cash has had a lot of tragedies in life that he feels responsible for and which had me aching for him. With so much loss he's closed himself off and kept many of his secrets hidden. It puts his relationship with Quinn in doubt but it's understandable as he's tired of being manipulated and used by others. He came to depend on Quinn but the constant push and pull between them kept me on edge as I felt she didn't treat him as I thought he deserved. He gave her so much, loved her so much, that it hurt me when she inadvertantly hurt him. Throughout most of the story he flashed sexy and snarky smiles with subtle dirty talk that had me drooling, but it was his rare tears and introspection that completely won me over and had me wanting to hug him. He's the reason I kept reading, despite my frustrations with Quinn, and is the reason why I'll come back for the next installment as his struggles haunt me still.

This story was a bit rough around the edges with a narrative that sometimes felt clunky. Quinn too left me frustrated as she let her father run her life, along with her new boss who let his inappropriate feelings belittle her further. I desperately wanted her to fight for herself, and for the joy she found with Cash, but that time isn't yet. The secondary characters were an entertaining bunch from her wild and over-the-top sister Lyndsey to Cash's hockey friends/teammates Louis and Fisher who support him despite everything he's done. While the romance between Cash and Quinn felt like a tug-of-war at times, it was also sweet and sexy, as seen through their numerous encounters that were also playful and ultimately brought out a relaxed and carefree side to Cash. The hockey scenes also showed a carefree Cash, showed a joy for the sport that means so much to him, in vividly depicted and exhilarating action scenes. Despite the quibbles I had it's Cash that makes this story! He's a complex character who exudes sexiness but who's broken inside and it's clear that at any moment he'll shatter. He has a lot of baggage weighing him down and by the end of the story everything comes to a head in a heartbreaking cliffhanger. Readers will find much to debate about in this tale, but it's a compelling read that pulled me in the moment I first saw Cash and I look forward to seeing how the ramifications of his secret play out in the next installment.

Perfect Sense

His wavy honey hair stands on edge, from my fingers running through it at least a hundred times. His white tee shirt is wrinkled, and my lipstick is smeared all over his neck and lips, like I've marked him. He looks at me with a hint of uncertainty mixed with a sliver of desperation in his eyes, which makes my heart beat a mile a minute.

Cash fucking Brooks. Get in my bed.

Is that a good enough review for you guys?

He’s reckless.

And he’s every woman’s dirty fantasy in the state of California.., except one… Quinn Ashby.

Recent graduate of Penn and top of her class, Quinn is whip smart, ambitious and interning as the new marketing coordinator for the Bexley Bruisers American Hockey League team. The last thing she needs is to waste her time on guys…especially one as lethal to her focus as Cash Brooks.

But once the bad boy hockey star tempts her into his world, threatening her professional future, she’s forced to decide whether to let him into her heart…or to leave him behind forever.

WOW. I tend to have a very hard time with arrogant asses, which Cash totally was. I can't say when exactly I fell for him but somewhere between the asshole confidence and impish grins he freaking wrapped me around one of those super talented fingers. Maybe it was the scene when he owned his asshole ways, or maybe it was when he bought Quinn tacos. Who knows. Who cares. He OWNED me.

I didn't get Quinn. At all. I guess maybe that was the point. She felt like she had control of her life but it was a mirage. She didn't have her shit together at all. Maybe that's why she was so drawn to Cash even though she claimed she wasn't. I think that subconsciously she really related to Cash and she embraced his protectiveness. She had done the protecting for so long that it was nice to be the damsel.

The way he lets out a chuckle as he watches me struggle for air, tells me he sees exactly the way his intent, intrusive gaze affects me.

Damn.

I tore through this book and you should too. If you like hot hockey players and a mystery pick it up today!

I'm putting this out there now: I know almost nothing about hockey. So while this is a book about a hockey player and his potential love interest, I'm happy to say this story doesn't get bogged down in the minutiae of the inner workings of the game and instead focuses on the hot mess that is Cash Brooks, hockey heartthrob and bad boy, both on and off the ice, and Quinn Ashby, daughter of retired Hall of Fame hockey player Hilton Ashby.

I will admit that throughout a good portion of the book, I had mixed feelings about Cash; he could be sweet when he wanted to (the gourmet cupcakes for instance), and the whole press conference where he was ready to take the blame for everything, but he was also over the top with his arrogance at times. But once you read further into the story, you get a sense of why he's that way. Does that excuse his behavior? No, but he's also still in his early 20s, so there's always hope that he won't continue to behave like a douchenugget.

Quinn is obviously a very intelligent young woman, graduating top of her class from Penn, but she seemed to strike me as a "yes" person, in that she would initially say no to something she didn't want to do, but eventually she gave in. Well, there was the one time at the VIP party where she refused to fall for Cash's charms to the point of leaving the party, so good for her for sticking to her guns (at least that one time). One thing that got on my nerves is her father and the difference in the way he treated Quinn and her younger sister Lyndsey, it was almost like he transferred his angry feelings about Quinn's and Lyndsey's mom onto Quinn to the point that he didn't trust anything about Quinn, yet it seemed like she was doing everything he wanted in order to please him.

Now, I'm going to put this second part out there: this book ends in a cliffhanger. And I mean a big, huge, ginormous, epic proportional-type cliffhanger. Not only that, the second part isn't scheduled to be released until 2017.

Yeah, you read that right: 20-freakin'17.

Talk about cruel and unusual punishment to make us wait that long for the next part. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a nice big vat of Ben & Jerry's Brownie Core ice cream, since we've got to wait eleventy-two years for the next part.

Cash Brooks, playboy, bad boy, fighter and hockey player. Cash is so bad even the NHL is fed up. He has been sent down to the AHL to clean up his act.

Quinn has always dreamt of getting into Harvard. She has applied for grad school but hasn't heard back. So she goes back home to live with her sister. Cash plays for her fathers hockey team and is immediately taken with her when he spots her at one of his games.

Quinn accepts an internship with the hockey team which means she will be seeing a lot of Cash. Cash wants to see even more of her though and he starts pursuing her despite the rules against it.

Cash is an extremely closed off person and though Quinn tries to ignore it she just can't, she needs more. She needs him to share something of himself. And just when he starts getting ready to do that, the crap hits the fan.

It was great. I loved Cash and Quinn and when everything went downhill for them, I was still loving it. I loved the angst and the hurt, it was a good kind of hurt because I knew it would inevitably be a great grovel. And I was right, but what I didn't know is that that would carry over into the next book. The next book that I can't wait to read!!

I bite my lip and bat my eyelashes, "Guess."

With a smug smile, he reaches down and slides his hand under the back of my thigh and hitches my knee up to rest on his shoulder. He puts his mouth inches away from mine and mimics my voice. "Please Cash, please take off my bra."

“what?!” this was my reaction after finishing this book. This is another great love story that will leave you wanting more! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

I’ve read so many great books since starting this blog and so many love stories. This is for sure one of them. Even if in the beginning there were too many coincidences and Lindsey, Quinn’s sister, was too desperate for Cash, after going through the pages I changed my mind. Even if Quinn tries very hard to ignore her attraction to Cash, when her walls shatter, she loses the control on her perfectly planned future. He on the other hand tries hard to add it into his life. He feels Quinn can be his life line, if she has what it takes to put up with his secrets and his façade. Cash will share most of his past with her, except the most important aspect. Now, if Quinn is willing to accept it or not is up to you to discover.

She on the other hand knows exactly how her future will turn out. She will do her best during her internship, then go to Harvard for an MBA, then start her dream job in Boston or New York. Falling for the type of guy her father always warned her about is not marked as “to do” on her list. Followed by her father’s constant high expectations, Quinn is not willing to fail him. She takes on a burden that may be too big for her, as she suppresses her own desires to please him.

I would have expected a different outcome for their story, so I’d say the ending blew my mind. I must tell you, I checked 5 times, just to be sure I got the right book and that no pages were missing… Can’t wait for the next one to come out! Until then, I hope you enjoy “Perfect Sense” at least as much as I did!

In Perfect Sense, we meet with Quinn Ashby, an intelligent college graduate, top of her class, who is as ambitious as she’s smart. She’s interning as the new marketing coordinator for the Bexley Bruisers American Hockey League team. Quinn appears to be perfect – but hse’s not. In fact, she’s so ambitious and driven she hardly has time for anything else. Being perfect in the eyes of her dad is the most important thing to her. Quinn doesn’t have time for boys, let alone for bad boys such as Cash Brooks. She’s an intriguing character, complex too, and I liked getting to know her.

Cash Brooks is a bad boy hockey star, but he has a few soft spots too. Cash and Quinn have a lot of chemistry between them – Quinn is stubborn and wants nothing to do with him, and that’s what attracts him to her. The more she denies wanting him, the more he wants her, and that was an interesting dynamic.

The writing style was fluent, and once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. An entertaining contemporary romance, ideal for hockey fans, and anyone who enjoys a good romance read.

I loved/hated this book! Seriously! It was an emotional roller coaster read! Author is brilliant! Cash pi$$es me off, yet I want to jump him. I flove Quinn! I just wish she would get over her "Dadd" issues. The ending made me want to throw my kindle! Now I have to wait for book 2! I really love/hate cliffhanger endings!

OMG!  I am in fucking love this book.  It is has such a  heart breaking story.  Be prepared to read the whole book when you start, because you are not going to be able to put it down.

Quinn is the daughter of X hockey player turned hockey team president.  She is waiting on her Harvard application to be approved off the waiting list. While waiting for her application to go through she moves back home to Bexley. While in Bexley her father gets her an internship as the marketing coordinator for the team he owns.

Cash was a player in the majors for hockey team until he had a downfall and got booted to the minors. He is a playboy and hothead. During one of his games a pretty woman catches his eye and he is struck. The biggest problem is she will have nothing to do with him.

Quinn is strongly attracted to Cash. She does not like her the way she feels around him and tries to fight the attraction. She is afraid of ruining everything that she has worked so hard for. Will Quinn be able to resist Cash's charms?  Will Cash open up and let her in?

I fell in love with the story. I could not put the book down. The characters in this story defiantly reach out and grab your attention.  Reading Cash's story in the beginning is like watching a train wreck.  I mean wow!  Can he be any more of a total egotistical dick!  He really does think that women bow down to him.  To be honest though Cash has a lot of deep dark secrets and guilt that are slowly tearing him apart.  Quinn is a tough girl.  I give her props for sticking to her guns in the beginning.   Quinn also could be his Savior.  But in the end it may not be enough as the secrets tear them apart.

This story flow effortlessly. It has a wonderful pot with some twist that will make you go what the fuck! You will be laughing one minute, pissed off the next and crying in the end.  You are definitely going to be hooked and begging for the next book to come out. I know I am. So I suggest going out and picking this book up now and reading it because the next book will be out soon. 9/25/17 Perfect Love

This is my first encounter with this author and Perfect Sense is a great introduction to her work.

Cash is the best Ice Hockey player in the country. He is every woman’s dream. They queue up for his matches and he can easily have his pick. His attitude is F**** them and Chuck them.

Quinn works as an intern with the Bexley Bruisers Hockey League whilst awaiting entry for an MBA at Harvard. She is independent and knows what she wants out of life. She is bright, but is always seeking her father's approval!

Cash sets eyes on Quinn at one of the matches and is instantly drawn to her. She feels the attraction as well and is not prepared to become one of his puck bunnies. She can't avoid him completely as her internship revolves around promoting the team. He finds a way of frequently "bumping" into her. On these occasions, the chemistry between them sizzles.

The first part of the story is like a tug of war between them. They both have secrets and opening up to anyone is not easy for either of them. Some of these secrets are devastating. Quite a burden! They have one thing in common. Guilt! When they think that they might just have a future, everything comes tumbling down.

I felt that Quinn was unreasonable at times. She is blinded by some of the good things in her life through her obsession about not deceiving her father. Cash is no saint and his behaviour is not justified. He tries hard, but his approach is a little selfish. His biggest mistake is keeping an astonishing secret from everyone, including Quinn.

It's one of these stories when on a few occasions, I felt like knocking some sense into the two main characters. It's sensual with a myriad of mixed emotions. The cliffhanger at the end is soul destroying and I am looking forward to find out what happens next.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Speechless. I am absolutely speechless. The end of this book definitely leaves you speechless, wanting more, needing more.

The characters, the story line, the details, the descriptions, everything in this book is awesome. This book made me want to keep reading. It made me want to forget my responsibilities as an adult, a mom, a wife. It made me want to keep turning the pages. I had to know what was going to happen. I applaud the author in the way in which she chose to write the story. She did a great job.

This story is exciting, it’s heart wrenching, it’s beautiful. It’s a love story between two people who aren’t meant to be together. They live two completely different lives and have two different goals in life. Their chance meeting introduces them to a love they didn’t know they wanted. Their love is flawed. It’s beautiful. It’s ugly. It’s perfect. It’s real.

There are multiple, very steamy, bedroom scenes. They are descriptive in nature and are pretty high on the steam rating. Don’t let this scare you away if sex in books isn’t your thing. There is a lot more to this book than the bedroom scenes!

I would absolutely beg you to read this steamy, sweet, totally alpha hockey player story. It’s a great read. It’s one you won’t want to put down and one you’ll be glad you read! Go grab a copy and while you’re doing that, grab book #2. You’ll thank me when you have it ready to read next!

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and honestly? I couldn't read past 11%. The book had a rocky start for me, with unrealistic details about business degrees (and having just done my MBA, I'm not completely ignorant on the topic). Everything was a bit cliché and flat, with stereotypes everywhere. I rolled my eyes several times in the first 10%. But I was determined to finish both this and the sequel for a blog tour...

That is, until I got to a scene at 11%. Now, I know that romance novels do like to play with the whole cocky player stereotype, and there's a weird grey area when it comes to what's sexy books vs real life (with lots of things that I swoon over in fiction not being allowed around me IRL). But this scene wasn't sexy at all. It went too far, and instead of getting worked up in a good way, I had alarm bells ringing in my head. Trapping a woman against the wall, invading her personal space, not listening when she says no, and promising it's just the beginning? That's harassment, plain and simple.

As such, I could not in good conscience finish this book.

This book was cute but then frustrating. Quinn and Cash were so cute together but the drama was kinda annoying in this scenario. The whole ending annoyed me because it was not anything like omg i saw that coming. Daniela the secret wife was a plot twist that i didnt want. We meet the couple when Quinn is coming to California to visit and intern at the NHL marketing business involved in her fathers teams aka the tornadoes and the bruisers. Cash lost his brother in a car accident when Cory was 19 and he has messed up a lot of his life with alcohol and addiction because of it. At a game Quinn goes to, Cash notices her and knows she means something to him right away. From there they sorta fall in love then petty drama is involved and then so on. In the end the split because of the whole secret wife and we are on to the next book.

This was an intense read but there are many things which i am not sure the author portrayed well
First thing first i didn't feel the love between H and h, both failed to prove the other matter and behaved childishly.
Though my heart broke for the H in the last scene i didn't know what else to feel , he should have been truthful with the h from the start plus i wanted the h to support the H more, initially she hated him and then she slept with him because she was attracted and not because she had any feelings and she was kinda selfish too more interested in what happens to her first
i am sorry but i didn't feel love between them , lust yes but no love.

Not just another love story...
I enjoyed the first book in this well told story of the realities of falling in love. Nothing about Quin and Cash's journey is easy. So many reasons to give up and walk away. But love conquers all, right? Eventually? Hopefully?
I read this book in one sitting, and fortunately, was able to grab book 2 straight away after the cliffhanger ending. Looking forward to reading what happens to these two broken, yet resilient, people who deserve to find their HEA.

I really enjoyed this book. Quinn tries very hard to ignore her attraction to Cash, but she quickly loses the control on her perfectly planned future. The drama and angst kept my interest and the story flowed along well. There were several grammatical errors that I had to take into account with my rating because the missing letters in words did take me out of the story a few times.

Warning- the ending is a surprise cliffhanger. I can't wait to dive into the next book!

Amanda Cowen’s Perfect Sense is just that – perfect. Quinn Ashby gets a job as a marketing coordinator intern for the Bexley Bruisers AHL team. She has goals and the last thing she wants is to be distracted by bad boy/hockey star Cash Brooks. However, Cash is determined to win over Quinn. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult and adult audiences. It primarily takes place in California.

I like Quinn. She is a smart and determined woman. She is no stranger to hockey being the daughter of a Hall of Famer. Cash was an NHL Star who was sent down to the AHL for constant misconduct. His attitude was caused by a tragedy. After getting to know each other, Cash begins to open up to Quinn; while Quinn starts to reevaluate her priorities and goals in life. Cowen does a great job with her character development. We learn a lot about both characters as well as witnessing their growth.

I found it amusing how Cash and Quinn first meet. I like Cash’s nickname for Quinn. I appreciated that she does not automatically give into Cash’s charm. He has to work for her attention. The photo shoot was an interesting turn of events.

Because the book is told from Quinn’s point of view, I feel like it took me a while to like Cash. Initially, I would have liked to hear the story from both Quinn’s and Cash’s points of view. However, as the story continued, I thought it was a good move on the author’s part to tell the narrative only from Quinn’s POV because the reader gets to know Cash the same way Quinn does. We see him the way everyone perceives him.

I enjoyed the plot. There were a lot of things that happened and were built upon. The story was believable and full of various emotions. Perfect Sense made me laugh and cry. This is the first book that I have read by Amanda Cowen. I really enjoyed her style. This is one of those books I could not get out of my head. The ending was heartbreaking, and I am dying to read the next book.

Perfect Sense turns out to be a good story, but it lacked something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think the lack of insta-love is what really kept me reading. At times I found myself not wanting to put it down, but then it would drag and I was forced to call it a night. I haven’t read enough SR to be tired of the trope, but I felt like I’ve read this story before. All-in-all, I liked it but I’m just not head over heels in love with it. I’m sure hockey lovers everywhere will enjoy this book more than I did.

This story focuses on Quinn and Cash. I won’t lie, Cash kept things interesting. If Quinn hadn’t played hard-to-get, I think it would have tore the story apart. I love the fact that she’s smart and knows what kind of woman she wants to be. She’s very studious, so while she was totally in agreement with the entire female population about the hot badboy Cash, she was very much focused on school and her future. And my God, Cash tried to woo her socks off, but she held out for as long as she could. I wasn’t surprised to find that they both had secrets, and were scared to open up to each other. Cash more so than Quinn.

The ending was kind of abrupt, and not at all what I was expecting. I’m not sure yet if I’ll read the next book, but I’m a curious person when it comes to relationship endings and secrets, so I may take that leap. This is a good read that I’m sure lovers of the genre will appreciate. I’m not a hockey fan, but Cash may just make me change my mind. If you like sports romance, this may be the book to add to your shelf. Recommended!
