Beverly Marie Inman was born on 23 December 1946 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, USA. Daughter of Doris Marie and Walter D. Inman Jr. A born romantic, she fell in love with The Beauty and the Beast epic at an early age, when her grandfather bought her an illustrated copy of the famous fairy tale. Even before she learned to read and write, her vivid imagination created magical words and fabulous characters inside her mind. Movies fascinated her, and by the time she was seven she was rewriting the movies she saw on television and at the local theater to give them all happy endings. By the age of nine she'd penned her first novel. She wrote short stories, TV scripts, poetry, and novels throughout high school and into college.
After her marriage to Billy Ray Beaver, the "love of her life", and the births of her two children, Beverly continued to be a voracious reader and a devoted moviegoer, but she put her writing aspirations on hold until her children were teenagers. At every age of their lives, from infancy to adulthood, the children had been a true joy to her. She devoted herself to her husband and children and considered herself one of the many selfless "supermoms" who put their family's needs first. She believed she had had it all, just not all at the same time.
In her mid-30s, Beverly returned to her former passion — writing — as a hobby, but before 40, she decided that she wanted to make writing a full-time career. And when she rediscovered an old dream — of becoming a published writer — no one was more supportive of her aspirations than her family. Her children were her greatest cheerleaders and her husband was her biggest supporter. After writing over 40 books and receiving numerous awards and nominations, as well as having books on the USA Today list and consistently on the Waldenbooks bestseller list, her career was indeed a dream come true. Having a fantastic family and fabulous friends, as well as making a living doing the one thing she had loved doing since childhood, she considered herself truly blessed. Beverly died suddenly of heart failure on 21 April 2011.
High society uppity Miss - heroine Donna. Works as a college prof. No husband, wants to drown her loneliness by getting sloshed in a bar in some remote town, away from home. Picks up a stud there, goes to bed with him. Tada ! Gets pregnant, and she is quite happy with the way things are. Getting ready to live as a single mom, quite happily.
On the day of her delivery, our stud boy suddenly turns up ! He is her best friend's estranged brother @$%@$%$@%R@$$$% I am ok with coincidences, most HP authors resort to them to move their plots forward. But out of all people in the world, you go to bed with a guy, and he turns out to such a close acquaintance and he turns up exactly in time for the delivery ! It was too much to swallow ...
Anyway, after that the story becomes immensely likeable. Our stud boy Jake, is actually a very earthy, not so educated, outback man. Very coarse manners, smells when he gets back after a hard day's work. And is generally presumed to be a pauper !!!
Now Donna wants the guy in her life. She reluctantly agrees to an MOC, for the child's sake. But the class conflict in her mind is too strong to overcome. She doesn't defend him well enough in front of her high society folks. He doesn't like it !!
How they resolve their class differences, accept each other as they are, is the rest of the story. Fun read, especially in places where Jake deliberately shocks Donna's uppity folks !!
3 Stars This hero is the only one that I liked from this series because he actually tried to be a good father and he treated the heroine right but she just kept pushing him away
The last series of Bishop brother. Jake Bishop, the most harsh brother among three.. they attracted to each other, a weekend.. nine months later, they met again, in different term... Susan gave birth his child, and Jake wanted to take care of her and their daughter even he didn't know anything about parenthood.. But he was great father.. because of her trauma of relationship, Jake needed to make sure that he wanted long lasted relationship... :)
Opened quite well. Jake was absolutely scrumptious as a new first time father. A hero to fall in love with. Full marks for the Hero. Ticks all boxes. Can't say the same for the Heroine though. Donna took protecting her heart from falling in love to the extreme.
Loved this story!!!!! Love it that the hero is the one who was head over heels and the heroine is the reluctant one... well written, short read, but definitely a book worth reading!!!
D1216 May1999 3 Babies for 3 Brothers #3 (1 & 2 not available 3-2017) Donna Fields and her friend are in New Mexico on a tour and she meets J.B. They end up together and 9 months later Jake Bishop returns to his home town, just in time for the birth of their baby girl. Realizing they didn't know each other I understood her reluctance, but the society friends and worry about what they thought didn't endear her to me. Jake was there helping her and caring for their child, she needed a wake up call!
