I read and really enjoyed book 1 in this series last year and hoped to get more from the characters so I was pleased when Liz contacted me again for a review, I of course said yes!
We are back with Bianca Frost - quick recap - Bianca's mum runs the museum of fairytale artifacts, most come for fun not believing any of it is real but all of the items actually really belonged to a fairy tale character from history- Red Riding Hoods Cloak, Snow White's Poison Apple etc. Bianca now has a Link with 'Everafter' the world of Fairytales and after solving one catastrophe there she is home and hoping for some quiet time.
In walks Terrence - her potential boyfriend who lives in Everafter, he has come to take Bianca back there, one of Cinderella's glass slippers has been stolen and the magic in them can be very powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands.
Although it has been quite a while since I read book 1, everything came back very quickly, in fact the story stayed with me very well and I could still picture the museum etc before I even started reading again.
It was like going back to a place you love but haven't been able to visit for a while, most things are familiar but there are also some new exciting differences to pull you in further again. You just know you're going to have a great time there.
I liked the plot layout and the story behind the slippers. Bianca and Terrence make a great duo and really carry the story. I liked the interlude of humour from Prince Ferninand too, gave the book a real funny element as he is such a likeable character.
We meet some new characters in Everafter - some of the 7 Dwarves, Bluebell a fairy with attitude and the Frog Queen. The world really takes shape and feels like you are stepping through the pages and journeying with them. The imagery in the writing carries you in and builds everything up.
I found myself desperate to pick up the story again to know what happens next. It took me a little bit longer to read as it was an ebook which always slows me down, but it couldn't quell my enjoyment!
Looking forward to more from Bianca and friends. Hope Liz has more up her sleeve for this series.

After reading First Frost aka the first book in this series I was both curious and afraid of reading this sequel. First Frost was one of the rare retellings I actually liked and I was afraid of reading this one, but I wanted to see more of these characters and the whole world at the same time. I'm glad I gave it a go.

When Bianca returned from Everafter and after all the troubles and mysteries she survived there, it was time to go back to her normal life. Even though, she knew that her life won't ever again be the same. The moment Terrance appeared I knew we are going to go traveling again. Things in Everafter rarely ever calm down and this time there are some evil force trying to take control over it. That's not just the problem for fairy who live there but at the same time for Bianca's family as they have something evil witch needs and there is no stopping her. At the same time Bianca and Terrance must discover their feelings and find a way to work things out.

Glass Frost was everything I expected it to be. It had enough of magic, adventure and romance just like books about faeries should. I'm glad that we could see even more magic in this one and to discover some new parts of Everafter. At the same time Bianca's relationship with her parents is something I enjoyed so much. It's a nicely built relationship.

This book was a nice sequel to First Frost and I'm happy that the author presented new elements and new sides of the story.

I was excited to see where DeJesus would take this story after the first book, and she didn’t disappoint one bit. This book was just as fun and exciting.

Once again, DeJesus delivers a unique and fresh twist to the classic fairytales I grew up loving and I was fascinated by her imaginative take on things. This story brings us even more magical characters and the new adventure Bianca finds herself on takes her on an exciting journey through Everafter.

Even though I wasn’t very fond of some of the characters in First Frost, they all quickly found a place in my heart and my affection for them grew throughout this story. Bianca matured and developed into a wonderful, strong MC. She was a serious force to be reckoned with.

This story upped the ante on everything. The romance heated up (but stayed within the PG13 rating), there was even more action and adventure, with the collision of two worlds and even more evil witches, the magic was more exciting too. I loved every minute of it.

Glass Frost is a fantastic follow-up to First Frost! I liked the first book well enough, but I loved this one. There is more depth to the characters, lots more action, and some very hilarious scenes! I honestly cannot wait for the next book in this amazing series. I've always loved fairy-tale retellings, but a series set in a fairy-tale world? That's just awesome! I loved reading this book even more because I recently watched the first two seasons of Once Upon a Time. If you're a fan of that show, this is definitely for you.

Bianca is finally safe at home with both her mother and her father, whom she rescued from Everafter, the fantasy land. But Terrance, her boyfriend (who lives in Everafter) shows up at her house, and things start to get interesting. The queen needs a favour from Bianca, but no one knows what it is. Bianca travels to Everafter with Terrence and Ming, her best friend, and find themselves in the middle of another adventure with Prince Ferdinand. There's loads more magic in this book, and we learn more about all of the characters as well as about Everafter.

It's really cool to see how much Bianca has grown from First Frost. She's accepted the fact that she's an incredibly powerful witch, and the descendant of Snow White. She still jumps head-first into trouble, despite the warnings she's given. But I love her bravery and stubbornness. She's very adventurous, but also very wise. She's rational, and I like that she makes good decisions. Bianca is one of those YA characters that you can't help liking and relating with. She's not annoying, she's not whiny, and she's not stupid. And there are very few YA heroines I can say that about! Bianca is really smart, and her quick thinking usually saves her from some terrible fate.

I loved how prominent Terrance is in this book! We didn't see that much of him in First Frost, but in this one, his relationship with Bianca really grew. He's sweet and funny, and just so freaking lovable. And of course, really skilled too. I love how much he cares for Bianca - it's evident every single time he interacts with her. Bianca can always feel safe with him, because that's the kind of vibes he gives out. He's definitely not your typical YA guy, but I love him.

Ming has always been an awesome best friend to Bianca, and I wish there was more of her in Glass Frost. In First Frost, she seemed to be really into the adventure, but I guess one was enough for her, because she's really reluctant to go back to Everafter. Despite the fact that Prince Ferdinand is there. He and Ming had really hit it off in First Frost, and there's definitely a lot more between them in this book. But Ming kept running away from it! She doesn't think it can last, and I didn't like the fact that she was hurting Ferdinand by doing so. He's amazing, and he deserves someone who will always be with him.

Speaking of Ferdinand. He's absolutely hilarious! Nothing like a prince at all. He's like a teddy bear, he really is. Of course, he's tall and strong and all princely-looking, but he's very immature. But he has a really kind heart. Everyone can see what a good king he would be. I love his bromance with Terrance - it's epic! They're best friends, always together, and always watching out for each other. Oh, and there's a part where Bianca brings these two back to the mortal world with her, and I loved all the scenes where normal technology awed them so much!

“And I will be able to have a conversation with you from anywhere in the world?” Terrance asked.
“That’s right,” David replied.
“Incredible. And it will sound clear, as if we were standing next to each other?”
“Correct.”
“Amazing.”

Prince Ferdinand sat on the floor playing with the DVD player. He laughed every time he pushed the open/close button. Terrance sat beside him, doing a poor job at stopping him.

“Why is the little square man under water?” he asked, and a tiny spray of food flew out of his mouth, behavior not fitting of a prince.
“Because he lives under the sea,” Bianca replied as she sat on the couch.
“In the pineapple?”
“Yep.”
“Fascinating,” he replied and turned his attention back to the TV.

Okay, those may have been too many quotes to share, but come on, they're absolutely hilarious! Especially in context. As you can obviously tell, the last one is about Spongebob Squarepants. Anyway, the quotes just basically reiterate my point about how awesome these two guys are.

I know I've been focusing almost fully on characters in this review, but I can't help it. They're what makes this book so awesome! But the plot is also definitely amazing. There's a hell of a lot of danger in this one. People almost die, some actually do, and there's fighting and suspense everywhere. There are some very intense moments, and some lighter ones. I love the balance in this book. Everything is paced really well, and on the whole it's great. Liz, I'm eagerly awaiting the third book!

My Review: Full disclosure. I'm a jerk. I begged Liz Dejesus for a copy of Glass Frost, and she was nice enough to send me an advance copy. So why am I writing a review months later? Life got crazy at the end of last semester and I am, just this week, caught up from being behind on an entire semesters worth of stuff. Somehow this amazing book kept getting pushed to side in favor of my never-ending to-do list.

Not today!

If you haven't read First Frost, and you like fairy tale retellings, go read it. It's a cute book with an amazing concept. All the fairy tales are real? Well, yeah, that's a given, but this is actually even cooler than that. All the fairy tales are real, AND there's a fairy tale museum that has artifacts from all the original stories; A glass slipper, a lock of Rapunzel's Hair, a brick from the house of the third little pig. And they sell Princess gear and have a story time. Liz, I'm telling you, open this museum. I will buy an annual pass and take my three year old there every day for story time.

What Bianca Frost, daughter of the owner of the museum, doesn't know is that all artifacts are real and they are all magic.

Anyway, she figures all of that out in book one, so go read that book.

In this book, Bianca is back, along with her friend Ming and the handsome boys from Fairytale land. There was much more action in this book than the last one. Liz strikes this amazing tone between nostalgic fairy tale you might have heard as a child, and young adult romance. The story does land more on the young end of young adult, so rest assured, this book is a clean read.

The ONLY thing I didn't like about this book, and I had to dig deep to find this, is the Ming thing. I love Ming. But if I was Ming's mother, I would be furious with Bianca's mother. Rose (Bianca's mom) was not going to let Bianca go visit the Ever After because it was too dangerous. Bianca eventually talks her into it, and Rose lets her go on one condition. Her unmagical, completely defenseless (whose parents think is visiting disney land) human friend go with her. I think it would have raised the stakes and made for better tension if Ming snuck along.

But that is probably just the mom in me. I love that Ming is there. She grounds the story and frankly, I identify with the girl who got scared and went home more than the girl who faced impossible odds. I like and look up to Bianca, but I think it's great that Liz provided us with a female character who isn't weak, but isn't death defyingly strong either. In a post-Buffy world, the "Strong female character" has become the norm. And while that's great, and it sends a good message, not everyone is strong. Not everyone is THAT brave. And it's okay. Ming isn't a weak, shallow, or one dimensional character by any means. She feels like a real person. She's still a likable character even.

I like that Bianca has parents and friends and a life outside of her romance. She may be in a fairy tale but she has a life too. If you like fairy tales, check out First Frost and Glass Frost. You won't regret it.

They say that sequels are usually not as good as the first book. That’s definitely not the case here. For me, Glass Frost is way better than First Frost. Cause even though I was quite fond of First Frost, reading that book felt more like being an indifferent spectator. I felt nothing at all for the characters and the story. In Glass Frost, on the other hand, I was sucked into the book from page one. There was not a moment when I felt indifferent. And I definitely had no troubles creating a bond with our four heroes ^^ What a vast and wonderful improvement!

In this book, too, there’s a well-thought story that will leave you hanging at times, will keep you on the edge of your seat and up at night. That in combination with the lovely world that Liz DeJesus created, is nothing but amazing. This time we focus on Cinderella, or should I say Helena (always found it a bit strange to have a name like that ;) ). We get to know fairies, THE dwarves, a frog Queen and the parents of both Terrance and Ferdinand. There’s more info about the “true” Snow White and her adventures. Some truths are revealed and more mysteries are created. Words can’t describe how giddy I felt with every new thing that came across my path. I absolutely love this world!!!

It was also great to spent more time with prince Ferdinand, Terrance, Ming and Bianca. They are great persons to be around, although I was a bit disappointed with Ming. Instead of the amazing sidekick she was in First Frost, she became a scaredy-cat, who only thinks about herself. What happened to best friend through and through? Shouldn’t they stick together? Nope, Ming flees at the first opportunity she gets. I was NOT impressed.

Bianca, too, had her less than stellar moments. I mean how bad can it be that the curse backfired on you? You DID save your boyfriend and your mom can make something so you’ll be normal once again. So who cares that you look like a freak for two days and hides in her room? Not me! I think I’d find it too fascinating to look like that for a while ;) As for the boys, I have nothing but good words for them. Prince Ferdinand is just too adorable for words and will definitely make you laugh with his antics and Terrance is always there to save the day. Yup, no complaints from me ^^ May they always be like that ^^

Conclusion

4 HEARTS. For a change a sequel that’s BETTER than the book one. Where we find out more about this amazing world named Everafter. With a stellar story that will keep you reading and four very likable and lovable characters. Even though Bianca and Ming both had moments where I was not so happy with them. A book that I, once again can recommend to everyone who loves fairy tales and Once Upon a Time ^^

Review abridged from my book review blog, Reading the Alphabet.

After Bianca makes it back from Everafter, she only has a couple of weeks left before her senior year of high school begins where she will return to being a relative nobody. At least she has her best friend Ming and memories of the young man, Terrance, she left in Everafter with no idea if she’d ever see him again.

Of course she will!

When a door to Everafter appears in her backyard and Terrance is on the other side saying that the Queen is requesting her help, Bianca gears up for a new adventure where she will face new foes and make new friends. Who will they be? You’ll just have to read it to find out, but you won’t be disappointed.

I continue to enjoy Bianca and her impulsivity as she grapples with the realization that her actions have far-reaching implications in two realms for those here now and also those later. She faces some tough decisions in Book 2 and I liked reading her thought process (or lack there of) as she weighs the options. Terrance is a delight. He genuinely cares for Bianca (and she him), and even though he has a restless broody side, it’s alluring rather than domineering which I see often in male characters.

Glass Frost contains even more of the varied landscape of Everafter, which is one of the things I hoped for after reading First Frost. The realm is both beautiful and charming and mysterious and sinister. Add to it a touch of magic and you have a setting that is a character not a backdrop.

Overall, Glass Frost was a delightful and quick read that I think with appeal to the YA crowd and above. It will make you fall in love with fairy tales all over again. I so look forward to seeing what the next year holds for Bianca and her friends, family, and Everafter.

Now first I must say that this is book 2 in the Frost Series, and I HIGHLY recommend that you read book 1 first. I also must say that one of my favorite stories when my children were young enough for me to read to them was the tale of Cinderella. In fact my youngest Susie, went through a period where she wanted to be called Cindy and dressed in her Cinderella outfit so often she wore it out.

That being said this was nothing at all like what I expected from a Cinderella shoe search! There is a LOT of action in this book, so much so that it will keep you flipping the pages long after you are supposed to be in bed. *fair warning parents this book will suck your child in and you won't get them to bed on time*

Again the Character Creation is fabulous, Bianca is a lovable young lady, Terrance is an interesting male lead and again Ming is just too cute for words. Best friends will follow you to the ends of the world, this one follows Bianca to a new world! How much more besties can they be?

I will NOT go into any details on the story, to do so may slip out a few things that will spoil it, so I will just say I HIGHLY recommend this 5 star read to anyone young or old alike. I think that this story was even more enjoyable than the first book which says something about the Authors talent for writing. The adventures will keep you on the edge of your seat, and will keep you wondering what is going to happen next. I will just say one little teeny tiny thing, I loved the dwarfs and I do so hope we see more of them in future books.

Details/Disclaimer: Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I was so glad that another book was made because well I love how Liz writes about the fairyales they always have heart, soul, and they're just plain fun to read! These books always leave me wanting more, I just love the characters and it's just so cute. Bianca sure is a daddy's little girl, "Rose, I don't know how to raise a teenager. If she were seven and asked me for a pony, I'd know exactly what to say and do. I'd go to Walmart and buy a My Little Pony and call it a day. But this?" He pointed to Bianca and Terrance. "I'm still trying to get used to a bed." In this book I'm not sure what couple is cuter, Terrance and Bianca or Ming and Ferdinand. "First things first. We have to see Prince Ferdinand. This morning, he caught wind that you were both in the castle, and he has done nothing but ask everyone in sigh where Ming is and why hasn't she come by to see him. So we're going to have breakfast together." Ferdinand is a little bit over the top in this book, well more so than the last, "fair Ming!" Prince Ferdinand shouted as he stepped forward. He grabbed Ming, tipped her back, and kissed her passionately on the lips." I wonder if the next installment will be about the Little Mermaid.

Great job Liz! Another page turner. No cliff hanger at the end of this one. However, things happen that you don't see coming. I can't wait for the next one. As I have stated before I'd love to see a movie from these books. If not a movie, what about a TV series? Just saying.

*****5-PLEASE tell me there will be more books in this series-Stars*****
this review contains minor spoilers

“Things are way worse on our side of the world,” Ming said.
“I know. That is why my kind created Everafter, as you mortals call it. We wanted to get away from you. The violence. The killing. The pollution. Yet, you always seem to find us, no matter where we hide.”

If I wasn't already in love with this series after the first book (First Frost), then this one would have cemented it for me-what an amazing journey this has been! Just imagine a world that actually exists, where all the fairytales you have read as a kid really happened-that is what Everafter is....only it's a lot more dangerous, kinda violent and completely unpredictable.

“Then we must find the stolen slipper. We shall go on another whirlwind adventure,” Ferdinand announced.
“We?” Bianca asked.
“Of course. You weren’t expecting to go alone, were you?”
“I don’t know…” Bianca muttered.
“We’re going,” the prince said as he slammed his fist against his desk.
“Oh boy,” Ming said.
“You’re not doing this alone,” Prince Ferdinand argued. “We’re going and that settles it.”

First Frost focused mostly on Bianca discovering who she was, learning all about her family history and the fact that shes a descendant of Snow White. She had a life-changing adventure, made some new friends and fell in love.

“Mom says I can go but only if you come, too.”
Silence.
“Hello?” Bianca said.
“I’m sorry; I was lost in thought there for a moment. You mean to tell me that you need me to be the third wheel and on top of that go to a place that is the exact opposite of Disney World? May I remind you that we almost died the last time we went to Crazy Cuckoo Land?”

 photo GlassFrost2_zpsce2c1df4.jpg
In Glass Frost Bianca returns to Everafter with Terrance at the behest of Prince Ferdinand's mother, Queen Felicia. Cinderella's glass slipper is missing and the Queen wants Bianca to find it, if both of the slippers fell into the wrong hands the outcome would be catastrophic. While one is safely hidden away at Bianca's family's museum, she must track down the missing slipper before the bad-guys find it's pair. On her journey we get to meet a whole slew of new characters-a Frog Queen, some evil witches, Snow White's dwarves, fairies (and they are NOTHING like Tinkerbell, let me tell you!), we get to encounter the Big Bad Wolf once again and that's just the beginning!! Danger and surprises are around every corner all while watching the relationship between Terrance & Bianca blossom.

“All I see is the girl I love, who saved me from a fate worse than death.”

I have loved every single minute of this series, it appeals to the kid inside us all but has the claws to hold on to our adult attention span. I can only hope that there will be more books to come, there are sooo many more stories to be told-I feel it...or maybe I just need to know where Bianca's future lies...and Terrance's...and Ming's...and Ferdinand's...Rose & David's...I JUST NEED MORE!!

“Come with me,” he whispered into her ear.
Terrance’s warm breath against Bianca’s skin sent a tingle of delight through her. She opened her mouth to speak, but all she could do was open and close her lips like a fish out of water.
He took a deep breath and let out a shaky chuckle. “I know, I know. It’s bloody insane and impulsive, but I can’t stop thinking about you. It’s quite maddening.”

*NOTE: We (The Readdicts) received an ARC of Glass Frost from author Liz DeJesus in exchange for an honest review. We thank Liz for the book!

I absolutely enjoyed reading First Frost by author Liz DeJesus. My review of the book can be read here . Even though the book ended pretty well for me, I knew there was more and I was pretty excited to read the ARC of the second book, Glass Frost, sent to us by the author for which I'd like to thank Liz.
Glass Frost didn't disappointed at all. It was an enjoyable read packed with action, adventure, magic and romance. But yes, I couldn't help compare the two books and the first book remains my favourite.
While First Frost was all about an introduction to the magical and not so normal life led by Bianca Frost, descendant of Snow White, Glass Frost was all about stepping more into the fairy tale world.
The Everafter queen wishes to seek Bianca's help in order to find Cinderella's missing slipper. One slipper rests safely in the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts run by Bianca's family, but one slipper has mysteriously gone missing. From there, Bianca, her best friend Ming, and from Everafter, her boyfriend Terrance and Prince Ferdinand, set out on an adventure that has you on the edge of your seat. This book was action packed and full of exciting undertakings.
I liked Bianca as a protagonist in First Frost and liked her even more in Glass Frost. She handles dangerous situations very well and is brave and sweet. Her best friend Ming was a blast to have around. I love the loyal and strong friendship between the two where they know each other like the back of their hands.
Terrance and Prince Ferdinand were utter gentlemen and it was amusing to see them get confused and carried away by the world in Bianca's time. Terrance is a darling and straight out of a fairy tale while the Prince is simple, funny and very kind.
There was a lot of romance between Bianca and Terrance and it was good to see the two get together and express their feelings. Ming and Prince Ferdinand's romance was there too, but very little. The four were a good gang who took care of all the problems they faced. Bianca's mom Rose and her dad David had their own romantic story going on along with the young lovers.
I enjoy reading the wonderful relationship Bianca shares with both her parents. A rarity in YA novels these days, it is refreshing and good to see a well-knit familial bond in Liz DeJesus' books.
The author's writing is simple and very pleasant. It really takes the reader back to the days of Disneyland and fairy tales by the Grimm Brothers and the experience is truly wonderful.
Though I did not enjoy Glass Frost as much as I enjoyed First Frost, I still liked the book and loved getting a more detailed peek into Everafter. I loved digging more into the many magical creatures and stories we've only heard of before. So overall, this was an action packed and thoroughly enjoyable read.

You know the feeling when you have your favorite flavor of ice cream sundae and it has a lot of chocolate syrup on top of it, and then you add lots and lots of sprinkles, marshmallows and rice crispies to it and then you add some more chocolate syrup again? Well, that’s what I felt when I read Glass Frost. It’s like all the things that I love was put into one. This series right here is the reason why I love fairytales again and it made me love it even more. Glass Frost by Liz DeJesus is the crème of the crop when it comes to fairytale mash-ups.

A week after what happened in First Frost, Terrance came to the mortal world to tell Bianca that the Queen Felicia of EverAfter wanted to speak to her about an important matter. So along with her side-kick/ best friend, Ming and her knight in shining armor, Terrance, Bianca went to EverAfter again to meet the Queen. There she was presented with a mission; to retrieve one of Cinderella’s glass slippers and prevent the other one from being stolen. You see, Cinderella’s glass slippers have the ability to grant its wearer’s desire. That’s why it’s pretty lethal if it went into the wrong hands. And that's the start of another awesome adventure that will test not only Bianca's ability in witchcraft but also her desicion-making skills and her willingness to sacrifice and to do everything in her power to protect the people cared about.

It's evident that Bianca's character here has matured not only in her craft but also as a teenager. She still commits mistakes and dive into trouble head first but she's more responsible now, she thinks about her actions and how it would affect the people around her. She also proved to me once again how brave and selfless she was when she led the bad guys away from the mortal world and into EverAfter to protect her mother.

The rest of the gang, Terrance, Ming and Prince Ferdinand, also got matured especially Prince Ferdinand who showed a great deal of his leadership skills and justness while in their journey. But Ming was not so sure if she can handle the stress of long distance relationship with Prince Ferdinand. Ming was also scared to death of the idea of becoming the next queen of EverAfter especially after she experienced the torture of wearing a corset. Meanwhile, Terrance and Bianca's relationship is still going strong and after what they had been through in this mission, it's going to be much much stronger.

My favorite part of the story was when Bianca and the others, met three of the seven dwarves. It was a bittersweet meeting. It's twenty different kinds of awesome, if I may use Ming's signature dialogue. But it was also kind of sad because they all waited for Snow White to comeback but she never did because she was captured by Lenore. And when they saw Bianca they thought she was Snow because of their resemblance but they were disappointed when they realized the truth. The way that they talk about the memories that they had with Snow White, makes me so emotional. I can clearly hear the longing in their voices while they reminisce the past and it's really breaking my heart. I'm just comforted with the fact that they will soon see her and that they are eager for that day to finally come.

Overall, this is a really great read! If you love everything about fairytale, you will definitely enjoy this one. And if you think your fairytale belief has died a long time ago, then this book will revive that. I'll certify this as a MUST-READ and highly recommended to everyone.

In January 2013, I read First Frost, the novel that launched the Frost series by Liz DeJesus. I remarked how grown men aren't supposed to get all gushy about fairy tales, unless they're reading them to their young children. Well, I'm hooked now so I might as well man-up and get on with it...

In Glass Frost, we pick up the lives of lead character Bianca Frost as well as those of her friends Ming, Terrance, and Prince Ferdinand. Readers of First Frost will remember that Bianca is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Rose Frost, and a direct descendant of Snow White. Up until stumbling upon her mother battling the witch Lenore, Bianca believed that she was just an ordinary teenager. But as Terrance reminds her in Glass Frost, "...you are everything but normal."

Terrance, who Bianca wasn't sure she'd ever see again, has called in a few markers and found his way to the normal world, where Bianca and her family live. I say normal because Terrance lives in Everafter, where things like magic and witches and such are, well, normal.

As all of us know - because we were teenagers once - we would move heaven and earth to find someone whom we loved; and Terrance and Bianca have a budding relationship that is explored, expanded, and sternly tested in Glass Frost. Of course, that's not the only reason Terrance has crossed the magical boundaries between Everafter and our world: and therein lies what causes Glass Frost to get really interesting.

Beyond his own growing feelings for Bianca, Queen Felicia has dispatched Terrance to come and fetch the young witch who, the queen believes, can be of some assistance with a slippery problem that is growing into a real danger for Everafter. Bianca would accompany Terrance even if they were going to battle a fire-breathing dragon, simply because of her heart. Yet, like any seventeen-year-old, she has to seek parental permission. Rose mandates that if Bianca is to go, then her friend Ming must go with her.

After Ming arrives at the Frost household, Bianca chants the spell that causes a door between worlds to materialize before them...

Find the shortest distance between
This place and the faeries’ green.
A place for weird-less days and weary nights,
Put this door within my sight.

...and the three friends step through into another thrilling fantasy adventure.

Glass Frost picks up shortly after the end of First Frost and carries on with the education and maturation of young Bianca. Although she demonstrated great resolve and tremendous magical ability in First Frost, there is still much for the fledgling witch to learn. As readers will discover, her learning curve is steep and not without significant mortal danger. Beloved characters are met, Everafter is explored in greater depth, and very old magic is uncovered.

Ms. DeJesus has penned a worthy sequel to First Frost. The main characters are fleshed out expertly and continue to grow into the story - and our hearts. Delightful new characters are introduced and blend artfully into the narrative. The plot is exciting, believable, and interwoven with well-known and little-remembered fairy tales from long ago.

Thankfully we didn't have to wait long for Glass Frost, following just eight months or so on the magical heels of its predecessor. A little Faerie has whispered in my ear that book three is being cast even as we speak, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Relax and enjoy the adventure, romance, magic and action of Glass Frost - you'll be glad you did!

Glass Frost is sequel to the First Frost. Although this time our heroes Bianca, Terrance, Ming and Prince Ferdinand will have a new quest to complete and new villain to defeat, I still recommend for you to read First Frost first. You will get better introduction to the characters, country and customs.

All the things I liked and enjoyed in First Frost are present here: Liz DeJesus' easy-to-read writing style and familiar fairy tale characters used to make a new story. There will be seven dwarves, fae queen Titania, big bad wolf, frog prince and many more. Liz DeJesus again reinvents them and puts them in Bianca path. It's fun, original and interesting.

The one thing that I expected more was more new stuff from The Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts. But Bianca will use mostly the same she used in First Frost. I hoped for more new artifacts and more awesome and cool powers they have.

Those looking forward to more romance will get what they were expecting. Both love stories continue to develop, some of them in unexpected ways. And still no love triangle, insta-love or other things that irritate me in ya novels (yay). The romance is slow, characters think about their actions, talk about their future. There will be some light kissing but not much more, so this series is still safe read for young adults or even teens.

The end of the book is cliffhanger free, quest ends, current mystery resolves but there are some questions left how relationship between characters will continue so I know I can look forward to the sequel and more adventures with Bianca and her friends.

In The End...
Glass Frost was not a disappointment. Very good sequel in to Bianca Frost series. All people who like young adult fantasy featuring fairy tale characters in a new original plot should give it a try.

My rating: 4 stars

Glass Frost book review first appeared at Cuzinlogic and you can find it here: http://cuzinlogic.com/2013/08/glass-f...

I’m glad to say that this sequel to First Frost turned out to be much better than what I expected. This time the plot is more solid, entertaining and indulges the reader with more details concerning the magical land of Everafter. We can also appreciate how the characters grow throughout the new quest they must make. Here, the characters know who they are, what they can do and what they are willing to risk to go over the tricky bumps and dips on the road.

We are brought back to Everafter by the request of Queen Felicia, mother of Prince Ferdinand, when she asks for help to recover the stolen glass slipper of Cinderella. Of course, Bianca accepts this quest. Besides from wanting to help, she also sees this as an opportunity to spend some time with Terrance whom she has fallen deeply in love with.

This book was so much fun! I met the last three of the seven dwarfs of Snow White and they were so cute and nice. I was pained to realize they were still waiting for Snow White to come back, they sure did love her a lot. And, when it couldn’t get any better, I was again won over when deep into the story, our characters happen to go through something that I never thought possible. It actually made me cringe. Poor, poor Terrance.

There are still a few questions left unanswered and I really want to know what will happen next. I wonder which fairy tale will take the spotlight on the third book. Wait. Will there be a next book? God, I hope so.

First, we followed Bianca into Everafter as she unwrapped the secrets of her family history, the history of Snow White that is. And now we get to enter another fairy tale: Cinderella. Although we still get to see other fairy tales woven into the story, and we're still a little bit focused on Snow White's fairy tale.

When Bianca is requested to appear before Queen Felicia, Prince Ferdinand's mother, she is allowed to go to Everafter as long as her sidekick, Ming, goes with her. And we trust Ming to not let adventure get the best of her because she'd rather be alive to see the world instead of dive headfirst into danger. And we've got the gorgeous Terrance; is loving him enough to leave your life behind you? Bianca begins to try to answer this question as she looks to the future, will it involve him and Everafter? And of course we've got the quirky Prince Ferdinand, who sometimes has the least sense of all until you really need it.

This series is a happy-go-lucky fairy tale adventure, from the big bad wolf to fairies to Cinderella's slipper. The first book had to take some time setting up the characters and the setting. And now that that was taken care of, this story was able to begin right from the start. So I seemed to enjoy it more. There are some dark things that happen on Bianca's quest, but good tends to prevail all in the end. And sometimes you need a good story with a good ending; it gives us hope in our own lives (or just makes us feel good).

I'd recommend this series to those looking for a happy fairy tale adventure. Those who swoon over true love's kiss. And tend to like quirky characters.

Glass Frost is the sequel to First Frost and it was a very fun and adventurous read. I loved being back with the characters and seeing them all interacting with one another again. Glass Frost was a very fast paced read for me and the characters make for an easy to fly through the book. The book brought out some humor which I appreciated and there was a lot more action in this book than there was in the first and that was really exciting! There wasn't much waiting. Things started off almost immediately and it picked up right where the last book left off.

Bianca has definitely grown on me, but I do feel as though she can jump head first into a decision without really examining the situation all that much. In Glass Frost, Bianca is asked to help get back one of Cinderella's glass slippers that has been stolen and also to protect the other slipper that is held in their family museum. I have come to love these little adventures that the characters go on. Prince Ferdinand and Terrance are definitely a favorite of mine. Prince Ferdinand's character is hilarious and I love when he makes an appearance in the books. I also like Ming as well, but I feel like she disappears way too much for my liking. Why even join the journey if you're going to disappear halfway through it? That wouldn't have been so annoying if she hadn't have done it in book one as well.

Overall, this book was fun and really enjoyed it. It was fast paced just like the first and the characters have become very close in this book. I like the bond that they all have with each other. I received a copy for review from the author. All thoughts are my honest opinion!

I have always liked a story that has a fun yet dark quality to it. This series is definitely one of those stories and has created an alternate world that our fairy tale characters inhabit but can interact with our world in significant ways. The telling of fairy tales within their new contexts is flawless giving life to them as well as the enchanted realm they come from. The story flows perfectly from incident to incident and makes sense even with the fact that these are considered to be make believe characters who only lived within the imagination of their creators.

Bianca has been home from the Everafter for only two weeks after having rescued her mother from a witch and finding her father, who had been missing for ten years, and is still missing the guy she met there. While in her backyard one night she sees a door appear and through it walks Terrance, the man she thought she would never see again. He has come because he wanted to see her again but also because the Queen has requested she return to the Everafter to do a favor for her. And no one refuses a Queen.

So Bianca goes back to the Everafter where she is seen as a powerful witch to do something her mother would not be happy about. While she is fighting for her life and that of her friends Bianca comes to an important decision that will make some happy and at the same time cause pain to others.

I recommend the two books currently in this series and hope more are to come as they have grabbed my imagination. YA is not a genre that I always enjoy but this is one of those exceptions I am always hoping to find.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Glass Frost does not suffer from second book-itis. I think it's every bit as good as the first. We travel once again to Everafter, where Bianca sets off on another quest. Ming, the best friend, tags along for this one as well, lured there by the desire to see Prince Ferdinand. Bianca is thrilled to see Terrence again, having desperately missed him while they were separated in different dimensions.

The imagery in this second book is just as good as the first, perhaps even better. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the seven dwarves and the descriptions of the dwarves' house. There is a rather gross scene in which our heroes encounter a castle with thousands of frogs. I swear I could smell and feel the oozy yuckiness as I read! I also liked Bluebell the fairy, a new secondary character.

Bianca learns quite a bit more about magic in this book, including the true cost of some magic as she and her friends travel back and forth between the mortal world and Everafter. The scenes with Ferdinand and Terrence in the mortal world were cute, especially Ferdinand and the amazing flushing toilet. Bianca and Terrence's romance really blossoms, which will ultimately lead to some difficult decisions. A long distance relationship is hard enough, but an inter-dimensional one...it would be painful.

I recommend this book as highly as the first, again to middle school and up. If you enjoy fairy tales, you'll really like this series.

I Received An ARC Of This Story In Exchange For My Honest Reveiw!

This book picks up a little after First Frost left off. Terrance has shown up in Bianca's world because Queen Felicia ( Prince Ferdinand's mom) would like to speak to her. Doesn't take long after Bianca and Ming return to Everafter for the Queen to tell Bianca that Cinderella's glass slipper has been stolen and that she needs to find it and return it.

Liz brings the readers back to Everafter for the second installment of the series. While a good portion of the action takes place in Everafter there is some that takes place in the human world. This is some good action that you don't want to miss out on either. We are introduced to a new place in Everafter and I love it. I would love nothing more than to build a little cottage right in the middle and kick out all trespassers. They call on old acquaintenances for help and they even make some new friends along the way. Lets not forget the evil witch because we know that a story isn't a fairy tale unless it has a evil witch.

This series continues to grow and improve with each new book. I can't wait to see what happens next with the characters and series. Thanks Liz for an interesting and enjoyable read.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!!
**Received the ebook as part GHB tour for an honest review.

Okay, I definitely like this cover better than book #1, and it definitely makes you think Snow White.

I enjoyed this story and all the adventure, but it was still something I could put down at night to sleep even though I think I like this book more than book #1. I really love the creativity it takes to make a whole new story from old fairy tales and that this is a good series.

I love Bianca because she is courageous and adventurous, but she is also very kind and caring. Bianca is like a magnet for trouble which makes for an exciting read. Along with Bianca, you still have all your other favorites Rose, Ming, David, Terrance, and Prince Ferdinand. There are some new villains, and you meet the families in Everafter.

Again, I hope this book comes out in paperback because I want to add it to my classroom library. I think the kids are really into fairy tale twists.

If you enjoyed the first book, you definitely don’t want to miss out on this adventure. I can’t wait to see what Liz cooks up next for everyone.

*Clarification: My ratings are always contextualized to genre.*
This is the 2nd in the Frost Women series. As always, I'll get the negatives out of the way first. Having worked with teenagers for 20+ years, I think the dialogue of Bianca and Ming is too young for their stated age. That "young voice" creates clunkiness in the storytelling. The Ming character isn't as developed as I would like. I was sorry there wasn't more interaction between Bianca and the Dwarfs as I felt that had a lot of potential and, hopefully, they will reappear in a future book. The danger faced by the characters never felt as dangerous as I think we are intended to view it.

That being said, once again I found this book charming. Lead character Bianca is becoming more comfortable in her new identity and the story itself is a little more fleshed out. Fans of the TV show "Once Upon A Time" will appreciate the twist on familiar fairytale characters. This was a quick, fun read. The story was engaging and the romance, happily, chaste. Liz DeJesus has made me a fan of this series. I look forward to the next book.

I don't know about you, but often times, I'm disappointed with sequels. After the 1st book, there are expectations and, unfortunately, these are hard to meet. But for Liz DeJesus, this was no problem. I devoured this book.

GLASS FROST takes off where FIRST FROST ends and dives into the adventure without the need for any extra backstory. The bad part is that without reading the 1st book, the reader will be lost - but is that bad when both books are fun???

Like before, I wanted to dive into Liz's world and never come back. Especially when Bianca met up with her great-great-great Grandmother's 7 (well, now 3) dwarfs. It was a magical moment and very well done. The evil witch problem was very unlike the first book, which made the adventure fun to read and not like a regurgitation.

Again, I can only say 'read it'.

Bianca & crew are back in action in Everafter; someone has stolen Cinderella’s slipper and considering the slippers can grant the wearer their hearts desire, it needs to be found. The villains are evil and really gross in one case, the tensions are high, and Bianca has a choice to make. Will she make the right choice? Will they find the slipper? Will Terrance & Bianca stay together in Everafter?
I liked this book, I was happy to learn more about Terrance and Prince Ferdinand and their families. Having the crew meet the Seven Dwarfs was epic, it really made the story ring true. The part where Bianca had to make her choice was poignant, even though I was pretty sure that I knew what she would do. I like this retelling of fairy tales and will be watching for more. Liz DeJesus makes my mind happy with her words that I picture in my head as I read her books.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Glass Frost lets us meet some new characters and new villains. We're placed in some new situations as well. I enjoyed meeting Snow White's Dwarves the most. I love how the First Frost Series not only brings fairy tale characters that we've all grown up with to life, but it brings them into the present in delightful ways. Liz DeJesus has put together this world so well that it's easy to imagine it's existence, and I want it to be real. I'm anxious for more!

Delightful!

Delightful!

This sequel to First Frost is just delightful! I loved how it picked right up where First Frost ended. Bianca is a pretty normal teen, despite the fact that she is an ancestor of Snow White, and has magical powers. I enjoyed seeing her mature a bit, as well as Prince Ferdinand, who will make a great and compassionate king one day. Bluebell was an entertaining addition to the cast of characters....I hope he makes more appearances in the sequels, which I hope will be written!

Glass Frost
By Liz DeJesus

Where do I start? One thing I loved about this book was how it pretty much picked up right where the first one left off and not years later.

This book is just as good as book one.
Bianca gets to meet the seven dwarfs and has to get Cinderella’s glass slipper back. Can she get the slipper before something happens to her or someone she cares about?
You will have to read to find out.

You will love this book.
I loved it.
