Real vampires don’t rust, bust, collect dust . . . or sparkle in the sunshine, but that shouldn’t keep them from sporting a healthy glow!

Midnight Sun Tanning Salon owner Tom Thornton is everything a girl could want in a vampire - tall, dark, handsome, with a body built for sin, plus cowboy boots and a Texas drawl. Toss in paid vacations and a benefits package and he is the perfect employer. His short, adorable and flamboyantly gay sidekick, Raf, looks like Tony Curtis - channeling Richard Simmons.

Connie Bennett is drawn to both - for very different reasons.

Everything she thought she knew about vampires, herself and life in general is about to go pear-shaped . . .but then, no relationship is perfect!

Raised by various relatives in rural Arkansas, a lack of wherewithal developed my sense of adventure and a vivid imagination. My grandpa's wagon was a royal coach, the plow horse became my charger, and the barnyard animals were whatever I wished them to be. I learned at an early age, my mind could take me wherever I wanted to go and make me whoever I wished to be.

As I grew reading took me to far-away lands and places, the past and the future. I was hooked. Content to read, it didn’t occur to me to try my hand at writing until years later.

In my teens I discovered romance novels. I loved historicals and strong, virile heroes. Later I became interested in the paranormal. I devoured Ann Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton and others in the genre and found one constant. I always preferred the monsters. While composing my junior and senior themes in high school I discovered my love of writing and according to those literature teachers, a talent for it.

My ideas of what made a hero changed, as did my opinions of timid, meek heroines. No Pitiful Pearls for me, I liked my girls to have grit!

I am a member of RWA, my local chapter, Diamond State Romance Authors and the on-line critique group ERAuthors.

Forever a country girl, I reside on five rural acres with ten dogs and two horses.

I loved this story. I read vampire and shifter books several years ago but, it got to be the same old stuff. I went on to murder mysteries, and love stories.

This is different. It is a love story, a vampire story and something else. It brings to question "Who was the first vampire. Where did he/she come from?" There are layers upon layers. All is not as it seems.

I loved the idea of a tanning salon for vampires. Of course! That is so logical. Why has no one thought of it before. Vampires need some sun too, even if it is artificial. There is nothing worse than a depressed vampire.

I loved Tom, the cowboy, vampire, millionaire, businessman and Raf his gay sidekick. Along the way, in this adventure, you meet some witches, shifters and other strange beings.

Connie, the heroine, has a sense of humor that really appeals to me. She has read about vampires most of her life. So when an opening becomes available at Midnight Sun, Inc. she decides to apply. Connie has a troubled past that gradually becomes clearer as the story progresses. She also has a paraplegic dachshund, Willie, who travels in a sling type cart. He thinks he is a pit bull and he is afraid of nothing, including vampires or trouble makers.

There is sex but it is not over the top, graphic. I believe it is classified as sensual. That would be right on, in my opinion.

This ARC was sent to me for an honest review. Well, here it is. It is well written with very few, if any, errors. I really enjoyed the story of Connie, Tom, Raf and Willie. I hope you do too. There is a small question that is left up to your imagination or a future book I hope.

Oh yes, there is a happy ending, for me, that is a must.

I really enjoyed this one, and shall definitely look forward to the next book. Just that little bit different and some good fun characters.

I liked the whole approach of the book, and the concept of where the retail setting sits: this a great novel (as in fresh and new) idea. The character's friends are all fun and the way the friendships progress is, in itself, a fine setup.

Holding my breath for the next instalment

A cowboy vampire? Who could have ever thought that would work but let me tell you it does. I love cowboys and I love vampires so what more could a girl like me ask for?
Midnight Sun Tanning Salon owner Tom Thornton is everything a girl could want in a vampire—tall, dark, handsome, with a body built for sin, plus cowboy boots and a Texas drawl. Toss in paid vacations and a benefits package and he is the perfect employer. His short, adorable and flamboyantly gay sidekick, Raf, looks like Tony Curtis–channeling Richard Simmons. Tom’s salon is oddly enough in Arkansas. Being from the South I find it odd that this story takes place in Arkansas but I would gladly share my hometown with some hot vampires. This is where she meets Raf, a co-worker who offers to let Connie move into his home after finding out she needs a place to live closer to work. The surprise she gets when moving in is that the boss lives there too.
Tom is the ultimate boss turned boyfriend because he’s gorgeous, kind, hard-working, and a cowboy. Raf is a girl’s ultimate best friend and he’s not only hot but he’s also sweet, loving, and loves to shop. When I say I envy Connie, I mean I envy Connie. She has these two gorgeous men who love her and are willing to do anything for her even if it means giving their life and then she has her friends who are willing to do the same. On the flip side of that coin, nothing in Connie’s life turns out to be what she thought it was.
I love this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. This is one book that I could see on the big-screen.

I really wanted to like this one.

Somewhere just after the halfway mark, I started noticing that the dialogue kept getting scarcer, and the 'telling' kept increasing. By 80%, there was an awful lot of kitchen sink events and convenient explanations. Not to mention I found Connie, the heroine, blandly unlikeable, and awkwardly 'not' snarky/flip.

I know many of my friends really liked this, so I'm sorry. I was hoping to have found a new series to love.

Wow! I really don't know where to begin. Everything about this story was just awesome. Don't let the cover fool you! This story is addicting! I seriously had to lock my kindle in the other room to stop reading while I did my chores... and the entire time ii was cleaning I was thinking about the story! Then, as soon as I finished I raced back to my kindle to finish! I couldn't help it!

This story is seriously packin some heat with sexy vamp cowboys! Yes, I'll repeat that slower. Vampire Cowboys... that are steaming-ly sexy... :D

First off, before I really begin, let me just say that I totally want a Raf of my own... and don't want to share him with anyone! He's the perfect best friend/boyfriend, well except he likes other guys... which makes us perfect! We can stare at guys together! *coughs*

Anyways!

This is the first book I've ever read by the other and I was blown away by the original and intense plot line. I have already added the rest of her books to my TBR list on goodreads.

This book is jam packed with sensual sex, addictive vampire, witches, cats and an adorable doxen you will fall in love with. This book had me literally turning the pages faster and faster as I read. Wanting... no Needing to know what happens next!

This book is so well done with the amount of details that I could see it being the next blockbuster film! The characters are so well done that I could be friends with all of them! I could totally relate to Connie, the author kept it real and didn't sugar coat anything! I don't have even one problem with this highly addictive book!

The author didn't leave anything out of this spectacular book that I highly recommend to anyone and everyone! Fan of vampires or not! Everyone should own this book! What are you waiting for? The links are above! Go

Who would have thought? A tanning salon for vampires. Clever and very different. They (vampires) come in for a spay on tan. So they can blend in easier with the humans.

Our heroine needs a job. She'll take anyone and this is one she gets. It's a funny story, full of adventure and danger. Oh, she had a dog....love it. Her dogs has to come to work with her. He's paralyzed and in a doggie wheel chair.

I was hoping for a sequel, but I don't see one yet. Really, really want to see another story like this one.

Dear Debbie, may I have another one, pleaseeee.
