About the author

Mora Early

4 books69 followers
Mora Early was born and raised in a small town in the mountains. She was decidedly NOT a girly girl. As a child, she hated pink and the 'gushy' parts in movies. However, one day in her early teens she stumbled upon a romance novel left by the previous occupants of her new house. With all her books still packed away, she decided to give it a try. She had to have *something* to read, after all!

The rest, as they say, is history.

Now living in Savannah with her husband, her cat Cat, and her dog Willie (as in Shakespeare), Mora is writing full-time while trying not to wilt in the Georgia heat. On the upside, she says the humid atmosphere helps her write those steamy scenes easily!

I expected a twisted arrangement but there was none. The cover is hot. The story is not that great. I thought that Emma could have asked or bough the watch back. Her brother is an idiot. The characters were flat. I skipped a lot.

Good story

I thought the story was good. I enjoyed reading it. For me there were some issues with mechanics. Not with the story itself. The transitions between scenes was nonexistent. You were in one area or time and on the very next paragraph you were somewhere else or a totally different time frame. Usually there is a break whether that be by chapter or by some dividing breaks.

As far as the story, I thought it was good. I guess I feel like if there are four books/novellas why not just make it into one full novel?

Other than that I liked it. I’m curious enough to continue on to the next novella but again, why? Should’ve been continuing on with the novel.

I will not tell a lie, I do enjoy a good tale of romance. It can be the subtle sweetness of a budding romance in the country or a hot & steamy love affair set in the streets of Venice during Carnival, but if it's well written it can take me away to a place where romance and desire knows no bounds. Twisted Arrangement is the first of a three-part series and with it (part one) readers will find there is an element of both the sweetness and the heat that make for a good romance/erotic read. Truth be told, things do not heat up until the end of the tale, so I am under the assumption that parts two and three will be much more intense.

Twisted Arrangement introduces us to Emma, a lovely young woman who works for a party planner, her brother, who seems to have one "get rich quick" scheme after the other and Joshua, a dashing well to do Hollywood Producer who just so happens to end up with a family heirloom belonging to Emma and her brother. A plan is formed to get the item back, but at what cost? Despite her trepidations for "stealing" back her belonging, a bit of a silver lining does appear in the form of Joshua hiring Emma's company to plan a party for him. A party to be held in his home....the perfect way to gain entry to his home and her family's property.

Mora Early has created some wonderful characters set among a very detailed and descriptive background. I could tell, Ms Early strives for attention to detail as I truly felt as though I were a part of planning a party and I could easily envision the decorations. As for the romantic aspect, as I mentioned above, part one is more the hinting and teasing of a potential romance with little intensity, but there definitely is a scene towards the end that gives way to what could be.

I really loved this book. I couldn't wait to get to the part where she actually went forward with the plan to take the pocket watch back... and I was NOT disappointed! Emma was a completely different person. I loved it. I loved seeing her assume a different role. It was so fun.

I just wish this could have been one book instead of 4 short stories. I hate that by the time I finished all the short stories I spent about $10.00! That is such a rip off and because of that I knocked it down a star. It ticks me off. Also I think it is worth mentioning that even the short stories have double spaced writing and spaces in between each paragraph. So it's even shorter than it appears page wise. Thats a little irritating. So although I really enjoyed this story, I will most likely not be reading more from this author if all of her stories are like this.

She studied his face, trying to determine if he was being genuinely self-depreciating or if he was one of those people who falsely claimed to be really bad at things so people would marvel at how good they really were. She'd dated a guy in college like that. He had always tried to pull the 'What, this old thing?' routine when he bought a pricey new toy . . . like a Porsche.

I'm really liking the way the story is unfolding. Emma seem so innocent but she's got tricks up her sleeve, not that she want to do those childish things but her brother has kind of thrown her a curve ball and she's gotta do what she's gotta do.
Which means she putting everything on the line. Her life, her job, everything.

Joshua is loaded with a capital L! He's gotta impress a potential actor for one of his films and that means having a fundraiser to put Joshua on his radar. He'll do whatever it takes, spend whatever it costs to get the attention he needs.
Party planner Emma is up for the job. She'll make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
But Emma's brother has mucked things up, big time! Todd is the type of guy that has mountains of ideas, ideas for him to strike it rich. But he's doomed even before the idea has time to bloom. One night playing a hand at cards he looses and looses more than he could ever imagine. Now he wants to clean up his mess. At first she doesnt agree to it, but then the excitement of the chase gets her tangled into a mess she doesnt know how to get out of. It all seems like a good idea but its all catching up. How will she get out of this mess? What will Joshua do when he finds out the truth?

Great start but way too short. I saw that book 2 is just as short. The author should have combined the two.

I've got to say that I'm pretty crazy about Mora Early's writing style. Her story flowed so easily that once I started reading the book, I literally could NOT put it down. (I mean, it might have taken the Jaws of Life to get it out of my hands).

There's this sexual tension between Josh and Emma that keeps you tuned in to see how thing will work out. Add to their interaction a sexy disguise and a suspenseful ruse, and you've got a story that makes you sit up straight from wherever you're reading.

It was funny and witty and sexy. Josh seems a bit misunderstood by Emma, but I started to fall for him from the very beginning.

I understand where a lot of the readers were frustrated with this story, as it seems to cut off RIGHT when things get reallyyyy heated, but I could not get enough of these books. (The formatting - at least in the early versions - is a little weird, but not enough to distract from this engaging tale!)

I read the first two volumes and I think that I'm picking up the third today. Wish me luck.

Got as far as 58% when I finally gave up. I really wanted to like this book; half way through i noticed nothing was really happening between the main characters, so I did some checking. Turns out their story is spaced through 4 novellas?? No way. Still, I kept hoping and reading--but I couldn't take anymore of her brother. Her manipulative, selfish, user of a brother and her being such an enabler. If you love someone, truly love them, you don't indulge --let alone participate -- in their self destructive behavior. That's too bad. I had some hope for this one. Back to my shelves.

I thought this was going to be another generic romance type story that someone who is still learning to write came up with, and boy am I glad to say I was wrong! Mora Early has come up with an intriguing story that is well written and totally worth reading.
The gist of the story is Emma has to figure out a way to get her family's heirloom watch from Joshua after her idiot brother loses it to him in a poker game. It's such a simple concept for a story, but with Mora's writing, her thoughts are well executed into a great story. Looking forward to reading the next one.

I don't know where to begin. I gave this story a five star rating because frankly, I got so sucked into it that I was angry that it was over. Based on that I'm very excited to read part two. Ms. Early has a knack for fun dialog and I enjoyed her characters with the exception of Todd. I hope Emma stops letting him use her.

Anyway a great read!

I was just getting into this when I saw how far through I was and realised it was going to be a cliff-hanger ending of what's-going-to-happen-next? I'm not always a big fan of these therefore I'm giving it three stars.

It needs more but that could be why there is a second one. Emma and Josh aren't a couple but have a thing for each other as quite and shy are both. Good story just hate when they are this short and need the next one

I really enjoyed this, but I HATE when a book is chopped off mid-story so it can be sold as 3-4-5 books. I have done this rant before, but here I go again... I am 100% behind trilogies or series, but each book needs to be a compete story.
