Hired gun Clint Matthews can't think of anything worse than spending a night protecting his boss at Miss Peach's annual Valentine's Day dance. Used to keeping his distance, Clint isn't about to be social - until Miss Peach forces him into being some young spinster's escort for the evening.
Headstrong Amanda Hamilton has gotten used to being the least popular girl in town, but that doesn't mean she isn't a little hurt when her paper heart is the last one picked - and a gunslinger winds up as her Valentine. Amanda has no more interest in socializing than Clint does, but after one unexpected kiss, she starts to rethink her dedication to spinsterhood...
This book had interesting characters and interesting story. And although it was instant attraction, I could fell the chemistry. The only problem was this book was too short. Could've been a four stars read if it's a full novel, not just novella.
A DNF. I can't believe Jodi Thomas wrote this book. One stupid scenario after another. But if you think it's okay for a man you just met and dont particularly like to come back to your home after your asleep break into your home and start kissing you until you wake up by all means read on. As for me I'd be screaming my head off. If there is a weird couple of the year award these two oddballs get my vote.
Good story but a little short. I don't normally get into romance novels, my wife suggested this book. She's a big Jodi Thomas fan. I was pleasantly surprised. Good read.
This story was short but complete. it didn't feel overly rushed or too slow. I also really like the play on words. Amanda is a great character and Clint is a wonderful hero.
Short and eh. This novella didn't really trip my trigger. I didn't get any connection between the 2 main characters. Besides them, the storyline was a bit flat.
