My Thoughts:

*Thank you Weiser Books for sending me a copy for review*

Goddess Spells for Busy Girls, is just that!

Have a broken heart? Not enough money? Sick or stressed? Or just need a boost? Goddess Spells and at least of one of the twenty five goddesses featured in this book will have something for you.

Each spell is short quick and easy to do! Each is laid out just like a recipe, only requiring a few things that you're likely to already have at home, along side a small set of instructions.

My Verdict:

This is the first non-fiction book, I've read (in a long time) and reviewed. And when I was asked to review Goddess Spells for Busy Girls, and I had no other choice but to accept, by purely seeing and LOVING the title of this book!

Goddess Spells for Busy Girls isn't a story, there is no main character, there are no twists and turns, and there isn't any cliff hanger ending. Instead Goddess Spells is a book filled entirely spells, descriptions of twenty five different goddesses and even small glimpses into the author's life at the beginning of each chapter.

There were so many different types of spells, for so many different types of situations, and each needed only a small list of household items. Not having the items needed to fulfill a spell was my biggest worry, but I soon realized that all the required ingredients can easily be found in a grocery store, or local specialty store.

Some of the spells include:

Spell to Spark Creativity (page 27)
Spell to Promote Power (page 35)
Spell for Tough Choices (page 49)
Spell for Peace (page 81)
Spell for Protection (page 124)

I enjoyed not only learning about goddesses, the author, but also preforming some of the spells myself!

Goddess Spells for Busy Girls came out on February 1st, so be sure to check out and pick up a copy for yourself! But if you want to learn more about Jen McConnel and her book, be sure to stop by my author interview with her!

I received this book for free from the publishing company, so thank you very much!

I don't usually read books like this, but hey, it was free, so why not? I love herbal medicine, so I liked the use of herbs in the spells. I also love ancient mythology so it was interesting to learn which gods and goddesses were tied with which powers. I haven't tried any of the spells because I don't think they'll work, but since my love life is non-existent and I'm working three jobs to pay off my student loans, it certainly can't hurt to try a few!

When I first picked up this book, I wasn't sure what to expect and if I would enjoy reading it or not. I have to say I enjoyed reading it & would recommend it to others.

The book was an easy read & there were a lot of great tips on living life to your fullest. Different from the typical self help book and I figure no harm no fowl. Worth giving the spells a try, if you believe they will work for you, then they will :o)

I saw this title on Goodreads and got interested, wondering what it was all about. I was pleasantly surprised! Many of these "spells" are more like guided exercises that include journaling, remembering to slow down and be thankful, and different ways to relax and destress from our crazy lives, etc. I came away with some techniques I can use in my everyday life to manage stress, etc.
