Lila Dubois has been one of my favorite BDSM authors for years now. Her Undone series curled my toes and so did this book. Here, you see what an unscrupulous Master can do to a sub. Trust is paramount and when two people very much in love trust a high powered Dom for Savannah’s training, they booth lose big time. D/s is not the same thing as abuse and this wonderful author shows how a loving Dom/Domme can take away the pain by measured steps in control and caring. I loved this book for the depth of emotion and intrigue. Art, emotion, bondage and discipline: a wonderful combination for a story that gripped me from beginning to end. The spicy sex scenes were smoking hot!

Gotta say that I actually loved this one a lot more than I did the authors previous work, Red Ribbon. Totally made me think of Dorian Grey's naivete and how people that really do not know what they are doing. Should not be participating in particular activities at all! And even if you insist on doing it anyway, always make sure that you get as much information as possible about it, always have open communication, and absolute trust in your partner. I will also add, NEVER, EVER, go anywhere where you only know just 2 other people and your partner! And most especially it's not the other couple that you know is hosting the event, but a total and complete stranger! Safety first ALWAYS!!!

I'm gonna be honest, this was too traumatic for me. I enjoyed other Lila's books but not this one. The history was too rushed and what happened to her is absolutely unforgivable, he left her to be abused, there's nothing he does, no amount of grooving that makes it forgivable. He was stupid and his reasons just really bad, she forgave him way to fast and the worst part is that the rapist didn't any kind of punishment, where's the justice in that???? It felt like I was reading bad writing fanfiction, really disappointed by this one

Usually love this author, but this one seemed a bit hollow and forced...not really a believable story, which made it tough to get invested in the characters.
