“Who Else Wants To Write a Book This Weekend?”

It’s easier than you think!

Best-selling author Vic Johnson actually wrote this book in a weekend to prove how easy it is. And he gives you step-by-step detail of everything he did, including the resources he uses to turn out content-rich books in no time at all.

How To Write a Book This Weekend is a perfect strategy for first-time book writers who have been discouraged by the thought of pounding out words for months at a time.

Inside these pages you’ll

* Where to find idea “factories” that allow you to “crowdsource” the hottest trending topics.

* The little-known secrets used by a 19th century Russian immigrant to sell over 100 million print books.

* The “can’t fail” method of choosing a title that makes your book irresistible to prospective buyers.

* A “backdoor” Google code that will instantly reveal a treasure trove of valuable research material for your book.

* The magic method that eliminates writers block and produces top quality content in a fraction of the time of other methods.

Please This method has had proven success on many occasions when applied to non-fiction books. It may or may not be useful for fiction writers.

What Others Say About Vic’s Methods

"Vic Johnson’s advice has added tens of thousands of dollars to my business over the past year. In fact, one of his ideas added over $100,000 revenue in one month. Pay attention to him and his material, you will be glad you did. Vic is one of the best things that ever happened to my business." - Bob Proctor, Best-selling author and star of The Secret DVD

"His first course that I purchased for $60 got me into the industry. I listened to it and wrote everything down point by point and did as much as I could. I made $8,000 on one site alone." - Roger Gauthier, CEO, Tri-Vision Global, Inc.

"Vic is truly a master. He took an idea, a dream, a vision he had, and methodically built it into a mini-empire. Vic is not only one of the most prolific marketers on the Internet today; from dealing with him personally on numerous occasions, I can also vouch that he’s one of the most honest, ethical and downright nicest, as well. It’s often been said that ‘if you want to find the diamond mine, first get yourself the best possible map.’ If your goal is to create a six-figure income via the Internet, then the map – in this case – has an actual name. It’s Vic Johnson!" - Bob Burg , Best-selling author of Endless Referrals and co-author of Go Givers

How to Write a Book This Weekend Like I Did, Even if You Flunked English Like I Did is by Vic Johnson. This is a how to book on writing. Vic Johnson has written several books in the How To style. This book is quite interesting if you plan to write for the first time. Although his information is generally headed towards How To books, it can be applied to other books. I am trying to write a nonfiction book and this has some interesting information that I can use. The idea of setting aside a weekend, a specific amount of time, devoted entirely to writing sounds like an idea that might work. I can set aside any time to write as I am retired; but someone who works would need to resort to the weekend. His chapter on creating an audio recording and having it transcribed makes a lot of sense. I generally find myself talking about a chapter in the car where no one can hear me. This advice would work for a book or even a presentation. then his information on places to go to get your book published as an e-book is one I will go back and reread as I get further into my own book.
Although his book is applied generally towards How To books, I think the information in it can be used in a variety of books. Mainly it is general information towards nonfiction books.

I liked the book as it was easy and quick to read and gave a plethora of information about writing that I can use.

Audible Plus 1 hour 34 min. Narrated by Wes Talbot (A)

This book was reminiscent of my years in the 1970's teaching high school students to write term papers. This book offers some of the basics ( like using who, what, why, when, where still being used in elementary schools to teach writig a paragraph), but it is now directed to writers in the 21st century. There is good information on how to use information available on the web to do everything from choosing a subject, a successful title, and doing research using specific Google and Yahoo search engines; as well as Amazon. This is a great improvement over card catalogs. (If you remember those, you are dating yourself as prehistoric.) I've often wondered how advanced university students find relevant, but not overused, topics for doctrinal dissertations. I found this an interesting book, and it would be profitable for those who have non-fiction book burning in their souls.

The author uses this book to shill his other products. If you've never done in depth research for a college class, etc, might find this book really useful. For someone with research experience, though, it's not useful.

The one main concept that still rings true is this: choose a concept that won't got out for date. For example, if I write a book on the iPhone 5S, it will be out of date within two years. Istead, you might write. Book on how to program your own app, as the technology won't go out of date as fast.

This is a short how-to book on writing a how-to or informational book to try to sell and market on the Internet. It was very inspirational. Basically the author says that you can record your information and then pay to have someone transcribe it and then pay some editors to help fix it up. He also gives tips on how to research your topic on the Internet to gather it together to write your book. I liked that this book was short and to the point, but also very positive.

This was a quick read and was just full of useful and helpful information.

According to Vic Johnson, it IS possible to write a book in a weekend... especially the way he goes about doing it.

He provides the reader with many resources, ideas and just general "how to's" to write a book in one weekend and get it edited and published shortly thereafter.

Very informative for beginners like me and I love short and to the point books and this is one of them. This book explains every step to write a book in a weekend with at least 12000 words minimum with all the resources and references that can help writer during and after writing. Surely worth reading.

This is a very ambitious book that only succeeds at hitting its mark by drawing a bullseye around the point of impact. It does contain practical advice for completing an entire book in a single weekend, but the scope of the book is limited in almost every conceivable way, and the methods the author recommends are nearly all of the entrepreneurial mode (i.e., you have to spend money to make money). That is a fair summary of the entire ethos of this book, in fact: books as commodities. And in that specific goal, it does seem to offer genuinely helpful advice. If you want to write niche self-help books as an entryway into being a corporate speaker, then this seems like the book that can help you get there.

But if you want to be an author, I would instead recommend something just as practical but with a lot more heart, like Matt Bell's "Refuse to Be Done".

Great book

A great book - very thorough - but simplified each step as much as possible -just makes you want to write your first book! You just know the author has done what we readers are attempting to do :) and it’s presented as if he’s sitting there next to you coaching you along - very exciting !
I wasn’t expecting this much from a do it in a weekend book …Super thanks

This book had some really great tips. I did it on audio, but think I might get a hard copy so I can look things up.
There’s a lot of critism from fiction writers, but if they paid attention there’s plenty of tips for them too.

I wrote three painfully sarcastic reviews before recognizing this fact: The author did in fact hook me with his hooky key word title (and bc it was free). So even if the book reads like it was written in a weekend quality isn't really the objective in this genre as much as Google ranking.

Nice guide of writing a book in a weekend. The use of voice recorder and then the transcriber was very innovative. Never thought of that one before. The book is simple but stuck with its principle.

Informative, but I feel like it would probably take a lot longer than a weekend to write a book. Maybe it's just me??

I got this book as I was interested in possibly writing a few short stories. The title should reflect that this book is specifically on how to write non-fiction how-to books in a weekend and does not focus on other types of books.

The information is likely something you would have learned in school when being assigned an essay to write. It could be a helpful refresher if you had, as the title suggests, flunked English class.

Although not what I was looking for in a book with this title, it did have solid information (although as I stated, you may already know it). If you didn't pay attention in English class and you are looking to write a how to book, then this will probably be a help to you, otherwise you could probably find all this information with a few minutes on Google and maybe even more concerning the type of book your are writing.

How To Write a Book This Weekend, Even If You Flunked English Like I Did (Kindle Edition)

A one day read packed with motivational information. I listed 14 possible e-Books while reading Vic's book. He not only gives you information but shares his resources/references then motivates you to act upon the principles he puts forth.

Personally, I believe this is not a book to read and lay aside. Read it ... act upon it. Until my weekend habit is formed, I read at random a chapter a day to keep my motivation high and reinforce his information/methods. Once PayPal sends me income reports, this MOA will keep me in The Zone.

Next step? Order and read one of his books for information, style, voice, etc to further his mentoring.

This book is worth your time and your money.

Highly recommend for writers, potential writers, Weekend e-Book authors. :)

I took a lot from this book and it helped me think about the organization process a little better. One key point he made is a game changer for me. Unfortunately, some of his information for online resources is outdated, as this book was published in 2013. Will you be able to research, write and publish in a weekend? No. But there is a key tip to expedite the writing process (if your book isn’t an epic novel) that can be done in a weekend.

Some good ideas on how to actually get started. Main point is to use a recorder and hire a transcriptionist. I've heard this idea before but he lays it out fairly well. There is also some leg work you'll need to do so I would spend the time to read this if you are actually interested in writing a book.

The title of this book is misleading. It should be called "how to dictate a how to pamphlet on a topic that you are unqualified to be publishing about", but I realize that this title won't sell copies. I am SOOO glad that I got this from a library and didn't pay a penny for it.

I commend the author on his ability to separate the lazy from their cash.

Learn how to write a book on a topic you may or may not know about by paraphrasing other authors' work (oh I'm sorry, I meant "synthesizing"). This book even suggests you purchase book summaries or hire a freelancer to read and summarize a book for you so you can "synthesize" that.

Interesting book, but needs to be clear the author is referring to non-fiction writing, primarily how-to and instruction books. Some ideas are common sense, but did get some good ideas for my next project.

Could have used a chapter on how to get published after writing the book.

Listened to this audiobook since it was cheap and I was bored. Pretty basic but had a decent example of a good workflow that the planner in me enjoyed.
