The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
- Kindle Unlimited : Always good vehicle for me to try out indie authors.
- It’s like a fix I need : I love BBW heroines and I love paranormals. Read the blurb and thought this is right up my alley. Anna's a real curvy gal (though I could have done with a little less focus on it), and Shayne and his love of Anna, every little bit of her, was great.
- It’s part erotic romance : A bit of awkward, alot of insta-love, but the sex scenes had their heat, and certainly no lack of dirty talk. And it was all good, until I realized….
- it’s also part Christian romance
Yes, you read that right. The paranormal is based largely on Judeo-Christian version of heaven/hell, and demons truly roam the Earth tempting humans to sin. There was calls to pray and...yeah.
Now, I’m all for the smutty times, and I’m not opposed to Christian romances….but when the hero and heroine basically dry hump each other (which? cleanup on aisle 12, why did he not need to freshen up the downtown?), then move straight into talking about angels and God and Jesus and the influence of the devil?

Well, I start flashbacking to my Pentecostal preacher’s kid childhood, and nah, folks, that just doesn’t mix. I prefer my sermons and my smut to stay far away from each other.
- The story itself was a bit disjointed : There’s not alot developed with the demons after Anna is with Shayne and Anna has a few TSTL moments and not enough times where she stands up for herself. Anna went from a full virgin, never been with a man, to a dirty talking temptress in a heartbeat. I struggled with the quick turns and the story didn't come together well.
The Bottom Line (1.5 stars)
Not my cuppa. The story was a bit too disjointed, swerving from smutty romance with serious dirty talking to religious ideology, which harshed any buzz I had from the smut. That’s just me, though. If you like BBW heroines, urban fantasy/paranormals and don’t mind some Jesus with your smut, you may enjoy it more than I did.

The funniest bit for me had to be the fact that the Enforcers and their angel boss Arch taunted their enemies by comparing them to "girls" and it happened at every fight scene which tells me a lot about the author given their chosen form of emasculation lolololololol

Rubenesque Rapture was a strong series starter that'll hook you from the beginning. Even though this book is about Angels and Demons, it doesn't have a preachy or religious tone. It's more set from the aspect of good versus evil, as well as whats wrong and right. The idea of an "endurer" or guardian if you will was pretty cool. These men aren't angels or anything, there just humans who were granted immortality in exchange for protecting people and killing off monsters. The descriptions were fantastic as well. I was generally disgusted by the demons and curious about the endurers;)!
The romance aspect of this book kinda cracked me up. It was funny to see how this poor man kept mucking up his chances with the woman he cared for. She really ruffled his tail feathers. The heroine herself was a fiery redhead trying to rebuild her self-esteem after years of being put down by bullies. So it was interesting to see the slight changes occur throughout the book. There was instant attraction, but how can there not be when a hot warrior is saving you? The love develops as the book progresses.
I'd definitely recommend for PNR lovers, and those that enjoy BBW stories.

FALRY THOUGHTS

“Another man would be fooled by the harshness of her words and attitude. He wasn’t just another man though”
“She will be for an eternity. Where she is at, there is no sorrow, pain, or fear. There is only complete and total joy. Given the choice, she wouldn’t want to return here.”
Talk about a yummy, feel good, kick demon butt book! Anna has just lost her mother and is so lost and scared to be alone. She thinks she isn't worth anything, so down on her self. Its really heartbreaking to see how people can be so heartless! Five yrs ago she saw a side of the world most have never seen! While going to see her so called boyfriend she discovered he has sold his soul for immortality. As payment for his immortality he has to get Anna pregnant! Now the demons want her! Everyone thoughts she was crazy, everyone beside her mother and now she is gone.
In comes the OH MY GOODNESS Shayne, he's an Endurer, he fights for the good side and he's been told to protect Anna but, what he didn't except was to fall for her!
During the journey you see Anna's self esteem go from having none to sky rocketing through the roof! Shayne shows her she is beautiful! That he would've lucky to have her!
Will the demons get Anna or can Shayne save her? Ha so NOT going to tell you!
This really is an amazing story that shows a side we don't see in books much but, I'm so glad I found one!!
Anyone who wants a different story with some yummy men and of course some paranormal action then this is FOR YOU!!

Ok people, the heroine is actually rubenesque and not the size 10 or 12 maybe a 14 we commonly read about when authors go curvy. I refer to them as the fashion world definition of plus size (FWD). This heroine was a size 24 which was extremely refreshing. Anna Andrews is special and she does not begin to find out just how much until after she meets Enforcer Shayne McLoughlin. There was a lot of action in the story and some lag when the two were getting to know each other once they arrived at Shayne’s home. We are basically in a world where Demons want to take over earth led by the, yes THE fallen angel who rules Hell, Anna will play a big part according to the leader of the enforcers which might happen later on in the series just not in this book. The plot is interesting and there are some wonderful places this series can go. Religion is mentioned in Rubenesque Rapture as part of the world, for instance sacred ground and crosses causing demons physical pain but it was all safe stuff nothing to be offended by. This was a good read. Some of you may find this book reminds you or at least the premise reminds you of a popular series but I won’t say who. Bottom line I would read book two.

So I have made no secret that I love BBW books, so while looking through Amazon on Saturday night I was intrigued by the blub so I one clicked it and WOW! I am glad I did!
This book is hot and it’s about a real BBW women! Not a curvy woman at a dress size 12-16, but a beautiful 24! This is a wonderful character development in itself.
So the story follows Anna, a plus size women living in Alaska with her Mother Iris and is being chase by Demon’s who want you use Anna to carry the Antichrist. In comes Shayne, an Endurer who is there to protect Anna from evil. Shayne falls in love with Anna, but after a rocky romance, will Shayne be able to save Anna after all.
Surprisingly good, no plot holes; smooth writing and yet another new author to add to my “auto-buy” list. This book earns a solid 9 out of 10 from me.

It started out so well. I had high hopes after all the book contained some of my favourite character types : curvy heroine, and possessive warrior type hero. The beginning was done so well I truly thought this would be very enjoyable and interesting. Unfortunately.....there just wasn't enough of anything regarding the demons, the apparent Armageddon, why Anna was being targeted. We just read a lot about Anna's lack of self esteem and them wanting eachother.
It just wasn't enough. The book was long enough to have made a decent attempt at world building but sadly I'm left disappointed. I enjoyed the actual writing style so perhaps the next one will be better. I'm willing to give it a try anyway.

This is a new Kindle release, and far better than I expected. Can't wait for the next one. Anna is a bbw that has been done wrong when it comes to love. Her mother was murdered by demons, the same ones involved in her abduction years before. They come to get her, but she is rescued by a smoking hot immortal Endurer. I don't want to give the book away, but the sex scenes are intense!

I feel like this book had a lot of potential. It started out great, but then it reached a point where it felt like everything was too rushed, including the character development. I liked the story and the paranormal aspect of it, but just wish it would've had more details. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars.

Rubenesque Curvy and Hot!
The story caught my attention immediately. Loved, loved the action and adventure. I really liked how the author portrayed God. Well done.
I liked how the hero fell madly in lust then love with the heroine.
Enjoyed all the inter-thoughts of doubt that both hero and heroine had. Made the story real. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

This is a dystopian paranormal romance book with demons, a bbw heroine, and an immortal. I really loved the adventure and romance. This is one of those books that doesn't hold anything back! If you're looking for a light read, this isn't it.

Soul stirring, inspirational, highly erotic
Never have I read a more inspiring book. Has everything, Religion, lack of self esteem, plus size woman, alpha eye candies, villains, hot sex, what more do you want. A must read.

So this was a different kind of series for me. The Endurers are a hot bunch of guys/angels out for the greater good! Liked the first book & can't wait to read the other books.
