Super helpful and even included a section for brides to be and moms to be! Grateful to understand how to choose the right bathing suit per body type which I struggle with. Overall I highly recommend!
The author of this book makes some excellent points about fashion, and the impact of appearance on all aspects of a woman's life. I will definitely be taking away some tips.
She does, however, fall into some of the traps I often find in these books.
They don't take into account northern climates. One of her major points is about first impressions (true), flippy skirts and cute little ballet flats are fabulous, but they lose some of their first impression power when you have to peel off three layers of clothing to get to them. I love a good structured jacket (it is a look I plan to buy more of), or drapey scarves; it is really hard to find examples of these items that sit comfortably under a winter parka.
She also relies heavily on the skinny bottom look (leggings, skinny jeans, pencil skirts). I, for one, do not have the body shape and/or confidence to have anything that form-fitted on the bottom. It would have been nice to get some ideas that do not feature this.
Overall and interesting read, particularly right before the holiday season and all the shopping it inevitably contains.
I enjoyed learning from this book. I liked how she mapped out what classic clothing essentials you should own so that you can always look stylish without always having to go out and buy new clothes all of the time. By buying these particular classic pieces you can dress up or dress down your outfits by how you accessorize. I learned quite a bit about setting up a "winning" wardrobe without spending a ton of money. I thought that Gretta knew her stuff and did a fabulous job of sharing her knowledge with those of us less fashion savvy.
I was looking forward to this book after seeing Greta on the Marilyn show but I found it quite disappointing. It seemed like a biography of her own style but there was not much that applied to mine, it was very stereotypical like sexy means fishnet stockings Mini skirts and over the knee boots .....please
I'm a sucker for these kind of books. Great pictures, simple suggestions, but sometimes the suggestions for body types just don't match the pictures. Some should be don't not do.
