I enjoyed this quite a bit. Rebecca and Brenden/Marcus are fascinating and engaging characters. Brenden/Marcus is a perfect counterpoint to subdued Rebecca, who is emotionally abused by her father. Well written, the story line takes us through the beginnings of the War of 1812. Excellent.
I love the idea and plot but I agree with what alot of others have said that the heroin in the story is way to devoted to a family that treats her like garbage. My family does me dirty constantly and If it ever came down to choosing between them and the love of my life I'd so not choose my family.
I dont know why but i still adore the book. Maybe it's the idea and the familiarity of the issues that hit close to home. It's a great starter book for those just getting into romance novels and I don't regret it
Well, it was a good beach read tho i was quite embarrassed reading it on the plane! Same 3 pages over and over again but it said PIRATE so i thought "hey, i'll try anything once!" lol
