Things are always different, and deeper, than they seem.
Torrance Baker has a good life, on the surface. Wealth, political power, and good friends that would do anything for him.
Or so one would imagine.
The death of his sister's lover, a civil war, and a new potentially devastating, death plague hangs over him however and threatens to plunge the kingdom of Noram into chaos if someone doesn't stop it. Once again, it falls to him to use his power and position to save them all.
Reality is about to become a lot clearer for him, however, as all of the secrets of his real origin are finally unveiled. In the end, one thing is very clear; Tor isn't who, or what, he thought he was at all, and that fact will change the shape of his world, forever.
P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line. Or visit his forum: http://pspowerbooks.com/phpBBF/index.php
In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!
Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

p.s. - Also going to try and get the feed that comes with this to feed into Amazon and Goodreads. Good luck to one and all!! ]]>
very good book, I really liked how Tor really found out about himself and the changes to genes everywhere. But I really hope this isn't the final book as I would like to see Tor finally become his own man and have his own emotions not by his rhetistics. That growth of his emotions would make a very good next ummm 5 books at least *wink wink*
I am very happy the way this epic story is going! Ancient Kings gives us so much and good leads into more. I am very happy with how some important relationships turn out. It is still hard for me to reread the beginning books knowing what is going happen with Sara and Trice.
Book nine of the Young Ancient Series finishes Tor's first arc in this epic story. Many details are filled in as Tor gains wisdom of what is really going on around him. Noram is now in all out civil war as the rebellious counties start the drum beats to war. We meet more Ancients and Tor is not fully impressed but he knows that some of them are his enemies. Lacking his original mental controls he is able to see things more clearly but learns he may always be easily influenced. Some relationships get extremely messed up and others look grim but have a more happy ending.
At nine books and only about a third of the way done this story is just ramping up with Timon and Tiera's second books due very soon!
If you are looking for an epic story I highly recommend this series.
Well finally we finish Tor story from now on we will guet to follow his younger siblings. A lot was explained in this book and I have to say that mutch of the treads that have come from book one had finally been resolved in here, if the author made such a foreshadow I can only praise his talent for such a great planning. It is explained why the book changed their tone so drastically from Tor POV to Tiera and Timon. By the way one of the characters that has been in my black list from the beguinning is The King Richard and I have to say that the revelations from this book have done nothing to change my mind so yep I still don't like him. Even though a lot of resolutions where fullfilled in this one, there still a lot not adressed here, wich will have me keeping up with the series, one of such is the reason why The Queen seems to be so interested in Tor given that well I hope I can find out more about it in the future.
Read the series to book 9. Interesting world and magic.
The author is great at building up to an emotional resonance without it feeling ham fisted or too contrived. However, it's so utterly disappointing every single time. It builds and builds and there are impactful events and powerful emotions driving the characters... and then suddenly it's the next chapter and none of it matters and no one cares about what happened before and any resolution is a side note.
I kept holding out for pay off but every single time it fails to deliver anything. Then, I kept thinking ok it's not satisfying at all but the author can justify this constant flat lining as some aspect of the mc, but nope two more books centered on entirely different characters with the exact same constant disappointment.
Finally thought Tor was going to grow up but its seems Powers couldn't deal with it. so were back to slave tor giving all his gold away and acting like the worlds problem is his again. then the author writes 90% of his love interests off as genetic relatives which make no sense with out cloning. probably because of the prudes complaining about sex.
