”Problem is it feels so good to be bad… euphoric even.”

description

To answer your question right off the bat, YES this book contains cheating but what an entertaining ride!!

Jessica Ingro where have you been? This is really your first book?

I thought I had the story pretty much down: Samantha Moore is a successful romance author whose marriage has hit a rough patch. Her and her husband Aiden have been trying to conceive for months and then just stopped. They drift apart leaving Sam feeling alone and unloved.

Sam’s former high school boyfriend, Jacob Matthews, walks into her book signing throwing all sorts of sex appeal and hotness her way… poor Sam barely put up a fight. Who I am kidding she flirted, texted, emailed hot sex scenes to him and these two were on FIRE together!!

”My mind is completely addicted to him. Jacobism – he’s my disease.”

Things at home actually start getting better and readers be warned Mr. Moore is no slouch in the bedroom either or out of the bedroom!

Sam tries to keep things with Jacob on a physical level but Jacob wants more and Sam is torn.

"I can't believe I let you fool me into thinking you actually cared about me for something more than my dick. I'm beginning to sense that this whole thing was a way for you to act out a fantasy and let go of some of your inhibitions."

Anyone would guess Aiden finds out about the affair. Although, her husband Aiden proclaiming his love for Sam and that he would wait for her to make up her mind?

Sam moves out and decides to pursue Jacob. When she finds Jacob she seems to be...

description

Samantha hits rock bottom and just when I think I have this story figured out because what I expect to happens does happen…

That darn epilogue was CRAZY and the sneak peek for the next book- what?

”This is one seriously fucked up situation.”

This is not a cliffhanger but you will be itching for the next book because if you’re like me, this level of drama is too juicy to pass up!

I feel like it’s my job as a reviewer to let you know this book is about cheating. If it bothers you to read about infidelity, this book is not for you.

“Life is messy and complicated. What we grow up thinking of as black and white is anything but. Gray areas are everywhere. No one knows this better than me.”

Samantha and Aidan Monroe have been married for ten years. For the last three years they had been trying to get pregnant, with no luck. Things between them change. Aidan is distant, they aren’t having sex, and they stop communicating. They are slowly drifting apart. They’ve been more like roommates than a married couple. Sam is feeling lonely and insecure in her marriage. She wants attention and affection from Aidan. She is just as much at fault for the changes as he is. She doesn’t talk to him and tell him her feelings. She doesn’t try to fix things between them. Instead, she does the unthinkable.

Enter the drop-dead gorgeous Jacob Matthews, Sam’s high school sweetheart. When he shows up at one of her book signings, the attraction between them sparks up again. They make plans to go out that evening to have drinks and catch up. As they are talking, Jake calls Sam out on not being happy in her marriage. She admits that things are rocky. Jake admits to really caring about her and tells her she’s the girl that got away. The chemistry between them continues to ratchet up as the night goes on, but Sam knows she needs to get going. Before they go their separate ways, Jake leans in and kisses Sam. Sam hasn’t felt this kind of butterfly sensation with Aidan in a long time. She’s desperate to feel again and Jake walked into her life at the perfect time.

Even though Sam fights the instant spark she felt with Jake, she can’t stop thinking about him. Sam and Jake start emailing email-porn fantasy stories back and forth. Jake is persistent to get Sam alone so he can do all of those dirty deeds to her. Sam fights this attraction for a little bit, but not very hard. She wants Jake’s attention. She wants Jake to do all those dirty things to her too. She misses being touched and feeling wanted. Especially since she feels like Aidan is not interested in her sexually anymore. Because of how she’s feeling, she finally gives in to her attraction to Jake. And the drama and cheating begins.

So yeah, Sam. She is just not a loveable heroine. She’s weak and selfish. She wants her husband to show her affection and attention, yet she never tells him how she’s feeling. It’s a frustrating situation. Does she feel guilty about the affair? Maybe in the beginning she did. But as Sam and Jake continue to be hot and heavy in the bedroom, she starts to rationalize the relationship. There is some guilt with Sam, but she still puts a lot of effort into the affair. More effort than she’s putting into her marriage. And she has yet to leave Aidan and continues to string Jake along. Why not? She has her cake and she can eat it too.

But then Jake decides he wants more with Sam. He wants the ‘more’ that she’s not willing to give. Sam knows she is hurting both Aidan and Jake, but she doesn’t know how to choose and refuses to let one of them go. She’s torn over her feelings for both of them. Sam just about drove me crazy with her back and forth indecisiveness. I had a hard time empathizing with her. I was mad at her most of the time, especially when things between her and Aidan became good again. Aidan is just as sexy and hot as Jake. There really isn’t much competition there. But the difference is, he loves Sam more deeply. They have history together. Why Sam couldn’t decide that Aidan is the right choice baffled and annoyed me.

“I know I'm insane...I just can't help it. I am well aware that my behavior can be classified as disturbing.”

Eventually Jake gets tired of Sam not fully committing to him. He decides they need a break and moves on to someone else that isn’t already taken. You know that friends episode between Rachel and Ross where they are supposedly on a break? That’s exactly what this whole part of the book felt like. “We were on a break!” And then Sam’s crazy antics go up a few more notches. By this point, I couldn’t put my kindle down to save my life! There is so much crazy drama that my head was spinning. The drama just keeps going and going. And if you’re wondering where Aidan is in all this crazy mess? Well, that’s the killer part of the story that I’m going to leave out of my review. Let’s put it this way, I adore Aidan and he saves this book at the end.

Infidelity is an ugly topic. I do not condone it. Period. However, I don’t mind reading about it sometimes. The drama and angst that comes with cheating makes my stomach clinch but it’s an adrenaline rush that I sometimes crave in my stories. Now, there are times when I absolutely cannot read about the cheating. And honestly, for some reason, this book shouldn’t have appealed to me. I shouldn’t have wanted to read about a woman who is too weak and selfish to just TALK to her husband about how she’s feeling and, instead, decides to look for companionship elsewhere. What it all boils down to is that I honestly couldn’t put this book down. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I was captivated by all the drama and emotion. It drew me and caught me in a sticky web of cheating, sex, betrayal, lies, and manipulation. I absolutely had to know how the story ended with these characters.

And you know what this story did to me? It made me laugh like an exasperated lunatic by the end because of all of the craziness that happens. And, even though I was furious and exasperated by everything going on, I was still completely turned on by all the hot sexy times. There are so many sizzling sex scenes between Sam and Jake that I would forget to be angry with them for a minute. This book totally screwed with my head. *shakes out the crazy*

I can’t say that I have much love for this book or the characters (besides Aidan), but I can say it’s an entertaining story that will take you on a crazy, hot as sin, emotional ride. I do predict a lot of mixed opinions over this book. There will be some very upset readers. It’s one of those books that will be talked about. I personally think Jessica Ingro is a gutsy woman to write such a controversial story that is hard to love and hard to put down at the same time. My final opinion is for any reader who is slightly curious about this book is to give it a shot. It’s one of those stories that’s definitely memorable and will make you want to read the next book in the series.

❤ Somewhere along the way
I stepped of the path I was on and got lost.
I crossed lines that should have
never been crossed ❤

Well, that was definitely very very..

As some of my GR friends may already know, I'm a sucker for LOVE TRIANGLES.
That's why Love Square by Jessica Ingro was -- almost -- the perfect read for me!

This story starts with SAM and AIDEN having problems in their marriage. They've been trying to have a baby for almost three years...with no luck. During this time they grow more and more apart. They even stop having sex, which leaves SAM feeling unloved and unwanted.
When SAM, who is a book author, goes away for one of her book signings, she meets her high school crush JACOB. He's the "one who got away" and SAM is still attracted to him. And so is JACOB. What begins with some very naughty e-mails at first, soon ends up being so much more...

Why 4 ★★★★ then? Because of the heroine. I really didn't like her! I knew there would be cheating, that's not the problem. But SAM decided to cheat on her husband within like 5 minutes. Normally I like a little more "struggling"

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to read the next book because I really enjoyed this one and couldn't put it down! And the sex scenes were HOT HOT HOT ;P

OMG...this book is just CRAZY!! Adultery, Cheating, Obssession, Love Triangles..... simply a train wreck waiting to happen.

Let me first off say, how much I really DETEST and HATE cheating, adultery, and love triangles. Combine all three and you got a recipe for disaster. So when a friend of mine recommended me this book I was so cautious and hesitant to read it and for some unknown reason I got sucked into this crazy madness and couldn't get off this train ride waiting to crash.
lovesquare

Samantha has been married to Aiden Monroe for ten years. She has everything her heart could possibly desire, and a husband who loves her to the moon and back. Sam truly loves Aiden but things between them begins to drift apart when they were having no luck in having a baby. Both Sam and Aiden are at point in the marriage, where they aren't having sex and communicating. It has gotten to the point that were basically more like roommates. She craves for Aiden's attention and affection, but he's been so busy with work. Sam is just as much as fault for the changes as he is. She doesn't talk to him and tell him her feelings. She also doesn't try to fix things between them but instead she does the unforgivable and unthinkable.
lovesquare-sam
Sam's old high school flame, Jacob Matthews waltzes back into her life. Instead of turning him down and walking away, she plays with fire by exchanging "dirty sexy emails" with him. Soon exchanging emails was not enough for Sam, she wanted more. She craved the lust, sexual desires, affection, and attention Jacob offered. Sam's life was now consumed with her love affair with Jacob and the love she has for Aiden.

Does Sam feel guilty about the affair? Maybe in the beginning but as she and Jacob continues their dangerous steamy love affair, she tries to justify her actions. Her realtionship with Jake continues to go on for several months, and yet Sam has yet to leave Aiden. She loves both men and doesn't want to lose either.
lovesquare2text
Eventually, Jacob decides he wants more with Sam but she isn't willing to give him the "more" that he wants. And when things with Aiden begins to get better, she continues to go back and forth between the two. Aiden loves Sam so deeply that he would do just about anything for her. Sam loves both men and knows that she's hurting both of them, but she refuses to give up and let one of them go.

Her indecisiveness was driving me insane... Throughout this book, let me tell you I wanted to shake some sense into Sam and scream at her that she is nothing but selfish and for her to make up her damn mind. In all honesty, Sam needed a good bitch slap.

lovesquare-aiden

lovesquarejacob

MY THOUGHTS:
First and foremost, Sam was just purely selfish. Instead of working and trying to fix her marriage, I felt she placed most of the blame on Aiden. She should have communicated with Aiden on how she felt. Sam's friend, Michelle said it best:
"Sam, you do have that...with Aiden. If you want things to be different in your relationship, all you have to do is open up your mouth and say so. If you want him to tie you to the bed and flog you, say so. If you want him to take you dancing on a regular basis, say so. If you want him to bend you over the kitchen table, say so. You can't expect him to know what you're thinking. No guy is going to be like one of your book boyfriends. Women write those characters, not men."

Personally I don't find Sam's excuses and justification for her affair with Jacob reasonable. In my opinion, she didn't deserve either men. Aiden was a loving husband who would do anything for Sam.
As for Jacob, that man oozes sexiness. I can now understand why some readers are obsessed with him.

As much as I hate infidelity and love triangle, I could not put this book down. I was consumed in this crazy madness and couldn't get off this train wreck waiting to happen. Jessica Ingro is one bold and gutsy woman to write such a controversial story. You will either love this book or hate it..

If you are adverse to cheating and love triangles then...

NOW! Do not proceed!

Truth be told, I HATE cheating....but I don't know, for some reason I got sucked in to the crazy on this one.

Sam and Aiden are married. They had been trying for several years to get pregnant, with no luck. Sam thinks maybe it's a sign, Aiden thinks she is giving up. They drift apart. For the past several months they have been more like roomates, leaving Sam insecure and down on herself.

Enter Jacob/Jake. Jake shows up at Sam's book signing and sparks fly. Sam and Jake were high school sweethearts until Jake started two-timing her. Jake and Sam go out for drinks and "re-connect". Let the drama begin....

See Sam...

She and Jake start dirty e-mailing and before long they have to do the deed for real. Sam's not getting any at home and she is sexually deprived.

First and foremost, I don't condone cheating. At. All. I do really wish Sam would have just, I don't know, had a conversation with her husband about how she was feeling. But then on the other hand, I found myself not really caring who she was having sex with because the sex was just THAT hot. What does that say about me???

So now our love triangle is complete and Sam proceeds to go back and forth between Jake and Aiden. Conflicted. Torn. Emotional. Crazy. Jake gets tired of being the third wheel--and he decides they need a break. And by break he means, he's going to go get him some somewhere else, from someone that's not married.

And now we have our love square! At this point, I just couldn't stop myself. I had to keep reading and find out who was going to end up with who. Was anyone going to end up with anyone??

And in case you thought the drama was over?!?! NOPE! More shit happens....and your head is just spinning around and around and you just can't unglue yourself from the crazy.

Finally, Aiden (who appears to be the only sane one of the bunch) puts his foot down and makes Sam choose. Who's it going to be? Jake or Aiden? Finally, we are going to get an end to the madness....

I should have just stopped reading at chapter 22. I was perfectly content with how things ended. But no, apparently I am a glutton for punishment and I went ahead and read the epilogue. And let me just say.... you dirty, dirty dog. I don't know whether I should high five you or slap you?!?!

And my final parting words to Sam, Aiden, Jake and mystery lady #4....

According to Ms Ingro, there are two sides to every story. And apparently wants to tell his story. So hold on tight because this ride is NOT over!!! And I'll be one of the first in line for more of the crazy!!!!

4.5 emotional, gut wrenching, rollercoaster stars

When I first received this book as an ARC, I have to admit, I was unsure.
Cheating never flies with me and normally, reading about it turns me off. This was NOT the case with Love Square.
There's much to be said about this book which is hard to do without giving much away.

When in an unhappy, unaffectionate marriage, do you follow the sly white rabbit into simmering shadows of his rabbit hole or do you wait (im)patiently til you can see more clearly in the light of day?

Poor Sam. She's drawn to the darkness of the rabbit hole. She knows its wrong. She never denies this. But the rabbit, Jacob, he's more than dreamy. She believes he could be something more. They share a history and have underlying feelings for each other.
The question is, what happens when you love two people equally?
Aiden, Sam's husband, is a good man. He doesn't know what went wrong in their marriage. In short, it's burnt out, but he loves Sam fiercely. He'd do anything to keep her. And he does.

This story was a non-stop rollercoaster and being honest, the cheating didn't bother me as much here. The sex scenes were ridiculously hot and I felt the chemistry between the characters. Jessica has a great, easy-to-read writing style and the story flowed beautifully.

If you love a good drama. This is the one for you.

Highly recommended to all.

OMFG!!!!!! I REALLY thought I had this book figured out... And then BAM!!! I had NO FUCKING CLUE!!! Holy crap!! I need the NEXT BOOK!!! Like yesterday!!!

I will write a full review once I'm calm..

So after I became calm... Sorta
Here is my 5 star review!

***** 5 STARS*****

Caution: If you have a problem with infidelity in books then you... HA! Just kidding!!! Then you should STILL read this book. It's that good! This isn't some pretty story about love. This is a gritty, real as it gets, fight for your guts passionate love battle! And when I say battle, I don't mean what you think. This is about people at battle with themselves, for each other. For peace. For gratitude. For yearning. For needing. The love is there, it's how that love is twisted and turned and nurtured, or lack thereof. All of these things make this book what it is. This book tugged and pulled at my heart strings and I loved every bit of it.

Samantha Monroe is in an ideally "perfect" marriage with a nice man named Aiden who she truly loves. She has everything her heart could possibly desire, and a husband willing to give it to her. But he's distant, cold almost to the point of cruelty. She feels invisible around him when all she really wants is to be cherished by him. Do I think this appropriates cheating? Of course not, but just you wait.

Jacob Matthews... This is the man who had her heart long before Aiden. Yet somehow he failed Samantha by not completing their journey together. When he comes strolling back into Samantha's world one day 16 years later, everything changes. What happens when an innocent drink between old lovers turns to more? Let me tell you what, it's HOT!! And not just a little, we're talking smooth talking-dirty talking hotness! And the e-mails... I LOVE EMAILS in books! It is one of my favorite "little things."

These two go through quite a lot actually. It's fun, it's mad, it's happy, it's sad!! Yes I rhyme and I don't care, it’s the truth! The whirlwind of emotions that occurs will simmer down deep in your stomach, and stay with you throughout this book. Then there's Brooke. Uggggggggh pretty much sums it up. This is what I have to say about Brooke, she's in the book and I don't like her. Does her character hold significance? Of course it does, I just choose not to accept it.

Finally I relax into to the story, and just come to the realization that this is a really good book. It flowed really well and the Author writes really nicely... Right? WRONG! That's all true but is so far from what I want to say!
Jessica Ingro is like one of those spin rides at a carnival! Except for the barfing of course. I was content, not happy, but content. Then spinmaster 2000 "aka" Jessica took me on a ride!!! And Holy Shit!!! I'm not going to tell you how or when it happens. But you won't see it coming, and you definitely won't be expecting it. This nailed the coffin for me... This book is AMAZING! I truly wholeheartedly cannot wait for book 2!! I love when Authors surprise me with their story, it makes reading so much more fun!
Here is some good stuff that I loved!

"Lying on my stomach, staring non-seeing into the room, I remember how exquisitely fucked I was just a few hours ago."

“This is a raw and angry fuck. There is nothing sweet about it. He’s proving his point, and he’s proving it well.”

“I want to wake up next to you, to fall asleep holding you, and to be able to touch you any damn time I want! And I don’t think it’s too much to ask for at this point.”

“I’ll do anything to make you happy again, even if that means letting you go.”

This is a bit of a train wreck.
The heroine to me came across as very selfish.
It's one of those books where you feel the husband should have walked away and found his HEA elsewhere.
The heroine, if I can call her that, and the other man deserved each other they were both as bad as each other.
Then at chapter 20ish there is a twist and we see the Hero is not as oblivious he seemed.
But why he thought she was worth bothering I'm not sure.
Intimate scenes between many people.
Cheating in progress during the story, the emphasis of this book is not on reconciliation.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

4.5 Bitches Be Crazy Stars

Crazy Bitches. This book is all about one crazy bitch, her occasionally crazy and occasionally sane friend and the two guys she can't decide between. I will be honest here. I did not like Sam, the Main Crazy Bitch. For most of the book I wanted to slap her. She is not a likable character. And I'm okay with that. I like other books that don't have sweet Mary Poppins type characters. Some of my favorite books have unlikable characters. But Sam....she takes it to the next level. She is selfish, yes, I think that's it. She is selfish. And more than a bit to the right of center on Crazy Bitch Scale.

Sam (Girl - Main CB) is in a funk. She and her hot husband, Aiden, are in a rut. They aren't having sex, they aren't talking. They are in a couple funk. She sees Jacob, an old high school flame, who invites her for drinks. No harm there. Just 2 friends catching up. Except he makes it clear to her that he wants more. Much more.

Let's pause here to say that Jacob treated her like doggie do in high school. He was not her one love lost. He was a playa who played her. And she jumps back in with him.

I know I'm insane...I just can't help it. I am well aware that my behavior can be classified as distrubing.

Sam and Jacob start an affair. And let me say..there are some STEAMY scenes here people Steeeeamy. Sam rationalizes the affair since Aiden is so distant. She puts a lot of effort into this affair. I can't help but think if she put that much effort into her MARRIAGE that Aiden might not be so distant. I had a really hard time with this one. I personally can not relate to cheating element in the story. Every marriage has highs and lows but you work on them. I had a hard time mustering up any sympathy for Sam.

As the story progresses, you see that they are all hitting a 10 on the Crazy Scale. Just when you think that Sam has seen the light, reformed her bahavior, matured through this terrible episode in her life. She decides on the Revenge Plan. She calls her bestie, Michelle and this is when Michelle who has been heretofore sane, jumps on the Crazy Train with her! I did yell "Bitches Be Crazy" at my Kindle at that point.

I know how you love unhealthy obsessions, but it's atarting to become too much, even for you.

You know I don't do spoilers but I will tell you, the end is more satisfying that I had thought it would be during the book. The "write a book" about it angle was both distracting and intriguing for me. During the entire book, I had a great deal of sympathy as well as a Get Your Head Out of Your Ass feeling for Aiden. But the epilogue??? I was cheering for Aiden and rethinking my previous opinion of him.

I can't say I loved the characters or the plot in the book. It is a hard book to love. But I like those kinds of books. This is definately not your bodice ripping beach read. I predict it will get lots of reactions. And non of them of the "it's ok" variety. People will love this book or hate it. But isn't that what good writing should do..produce a strong emotions in the reader? Ms Ingro takes a chance and breaks most of the rules of writing a romance. But writing a novel that gets people talking??? She has fallen out of the Crazy Bitch Tree and hits every branch on the way down.

I certainly had conflicting emotions while I was reading Love Square ~ I mean the synopsis alone should give you an indication that this book deals with a married woman and her high school love finding each other again. When I started the book the tone was set pretty quickly that there was something wrong with Aiden & Sam (Samantha) marriage ~ I have to say I read Sam's thoughts and ....

they had grown apart of many years together! You could tell that they weren't COMMUNICATING and I've said this before in a review communication in any relationship was key but would I've had a book to read if they were communicating ~ Nope. Sam is out on a book tour, yes she is an author, when she comes face to face with her ex-high school her first boyfriend and her first heartbreak ~ He invites her out to drinks and that right there I ...

sure getting together for drinks with old friends is not a problem but when Sam is describing oh HOT Jacob is and that frankly any woman would....

with him well I had my hesitation but I can't say Sam didn't either. They meet for drinks and that the first time I ....

I think I could honestly say I was the angel on her shoulder rather than the devil ~ I wanted to tell Sam to...

and then from there e-mails were exchanged and one thing led to another and there was more...

and BAM full-blown affair ~ I'm not saying this occurs that quick in the book. The author does show that Aiden & Sam's relationship was struggling and Sam wasn't feeling love, supported nor sexy when it came to Aiden ~ I think the lack of sex for as long as they went would have me questioning things too. I was literally sucked into the book just waiting for the other shoe to drop! I knew it was coming ~ and I had to ...

when Sam thought she could honestly keep her emotions out of the affair. Honey we are women and most women equate sex as an emotional experience. I had times where I wanted to...

because the author did a wonderful job with ensuring the reader knew that communication was the key and what went down although the affair is totally on Sam in my mind ~ Aiden's turning inwards and essentially ignoring Sam played a part in Sam's emotional health.

A 4.5 star read for me ~ a book that deals with a very serious subject content. The sex in the book was hot, steamy and plentiful but alas I personally had a hard time swallowing some of what I read. I think the fact the author could make me pissed at someone but also feel sorry for them attests to the fact it was well written.

There is another book that will be told from Jacob's POV but from what little blip I read for that it sounds like it starts after everything that went down with this one. I can't say I ever felt sorry for Jacob in this book I just didn't connect with him plus Sam gives a little glimpses of what it was like when she was first when she was in high school and how their relationship ended, if it truly ever did.

If you can deal with a love triangle that is forced into a square (if you read the book you understand) and the fact that one partner is stepping out on their marriage but with in the end someone finds who they are then I recommend this one. I know some people cannot tolerate this subject matter in a read that's the only reason I mention it. At times I forgot I was reading fiction I felt like I was truly reading someone's "real" story. For that I have to ...

Kudos to the author I think she did a great job of having me walk a very fine line of love/hate characters but kept interested in the book!

Love Square is intense, emotional, and certainly sexy. I was hooked from the start. It's a realistic story about what happens in a marriage when life doesn't go exactly the way you plan it. It's a story about betrayal, heartache, and falling in love again.

Oh, Samantha. She's the kind of character that you like, can relate to, but can also get mad at...really fast. There were so many parts of her story that I understood completely. She fell in love with a wonderful guy in college. They got married and things seemed to move along they way they should. Then, they wanted to start a family. This process wasn't easy for them and it caused problems in their marriage. So, Samantha, who is an author, runs into her old high school flame, Jacob, at a book signing. Some of her old feelings resurface. It doesn't help that Jacob is pursuing her relentlessly.

Jacob wants Samantha. She's his one that got away. Well, in his mind anyway. And I do think he really cared about her, but I had mixed feelings about him. On one hand I liked him because he was funny, sexy, and was giving Samantha the affection she craved. On the other hand, I was angry that he wanted to break up her marriage. I mean, he knew she was married and he still went after her. Don't get me wrong, I blame Samantha the most. In the end, there are things that I still liked about Jacob, but he was kind of hard to like. He was realllly sexy though. I could see why she was so tempted by him.

Now, on to Aiden. He's Samantha's husband. In the beginning, I was a bit angry with Aiden. I'm not in any way excusing Samantha's behavior, but Aiden was ignoring her. In a lot of ways, he abandoned their marriage. Whether you're in a relationship or married, there are times when you question everything about that relationship. There are moments you look at your partner and don't recognize them. But one thing about Aiden stayed true throughout the book. He loved Samantha completely. I really, truly loved Aiden by the end of the book. He wanted to save his marriage and the love he and Samantha had. He's really a great guy.

Overall, I loved this book. It's not easy to read. Especially if you're in a committed relationship. I think it was hard, because there are times when you feel the way Samantha felt. She was going through a hard time in her marriage and she was vulnerable. It can honestly happen to anyone. I was really happen with the way things ended up though. There were definitely some twists and turns getting to the end, but it was truly a captivating story. I'm anxious for Jacob's book. He definitely has more to say and I have a feeling Ingro will actually make me fall for him too. If you're looking for a fantastic debut that's sexy, dark, and enthralling, definitely check this one out!

Hmmm.... I just finished this book and I have to admit that I wasn't absolutely loving it right up until about the last twenty percent but the ending of this book just freakin blew me away. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone, so this review may be a little confusing until you read the book.

Let me start off by saying I really didn't like the heroine, Sam. My dislike for her really isn't even because she is a cheater. I can understand how she went down the forbidden path with Jacob. I'm not saying its right BUT, I do understand it. She was lonely. You do not know how lonely you can feel, when you have have "someone" but that someone doesn't see you, or that "someone" doesn't appreciate you, or want you. You don't know what lonely is until you have a connection but that connection is lost-but he is still a part of your life, but you have grown apart and in different directions. That is still not an excuse to cheat, but again I understand how it happened. I didn't like Sam because she was selfish, and she thrived on attention. I understand wanting, even craving attention from someone when your so lonely your body literally aches but after Aiden (Sam's husband) started "seeing" her again, she should have made a decision and let the other man go.

I never really liked or felt sorry for Jacob. He is the high school sweetheart that Sam ends up having an affair with. He knew she was married. She tried to break it off with him twice, but he kept pursuing her. So, no, I don't feel sorry for him but you better believe when his book comes out, I will be clicking "buy" on release day after reading the teaser at the end of the book about his POV.

Aiden is the character that has literally blown me away in this book. Yes, I'm mad at him for taking Sam for granted but he really done everything he knew to do to make up for it. He romanced his wife and forgive her for everything. I just can't imagine a man being able to love that deeply, or forgive that thoroughly. My mind was absolutely made up about Aiden - I thought he should just kick Sam to the curb, call an attorney and look me up UNTIL I read the epilogue. The epilogue blew me away. I DID NOT see that coming but kudos for Aiden!

So, now that your probably thoroughly confused, I would suggest you read the book. The chemistry didn't sizzle between Sam and Jacob for me, and I think that was simply because I felt like more character development was needed for all three characters but this book still kept my attention and I have high hopes that with each book of Ms. Ingro's the writing will only get better.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Jessica Ingro, it was a pleasure to read your book. You certainly took me on a whirl wind experience. This book left me thinking REALLY! SERIOUSLY! What the hell just happened! But in a totally good way. It left me with such a book hangover that it took me a few days to collect my thoughts in order to be even able to write this review. I still do not know that I can find the words to adiquitely express how I feel, but I will try. THIS BOOK WILL MOST DEFINITELY HAVE PEOPLE TALKING THAT IS FOR SURE!

Samantha (Sam) Parker is a woman who is no longer happy with her life. She has been married to her husband Aiden for eight years now. But, lately things are not the same. They have grown apart. She is left feeling alone and cofused as to what to do to make thing better in their relationship. He constantly leaves her feeling rejected. He no longer makes her feel wanted, needed or desired in any way. She feels that they are more roomates now than husband and wife. She even begins to wonder if he is having an affair because he obviously no longer wants her.

Sam is an author, and while at a book signing one day out of town, She runs into an ex-boyfriend Jacob. ATTENTION LADIES BOTH AIDEN AND JACOB ARE BOOK BOYFRIEND MATERIAL! They both say and do all of the right things so I understand why Sam was so torn and confused. Jacob was Sam's first love and he was also the first man to break her heart. She feels that she never really got over Jacob and part of her has always loved him. He wants to take her out for a drink to catch up on old times. She agrees, and during this time the attraction is still very much there for both Sam and Jacob. He asks her if she is truly happy in her marriage, because he has always cared about her and all he wants is to see her happy. The night continues with them talking and flirting, and as the night draws to an end they kiss. Weeks pass and Sam receives an email from Jacob saying that he can not stop thinking about her. They proceed to send each other several naughty emails talking about all of the things that they want to do to each other. He tells her how much he has thought about her over the years while they were apart, how much he wants her, how badly he needs her. That no one else makes him feel the way that she makes him feel. He says no matter how many women have come and gone in his life, it has always only been her. He tells her that her husband is an idiot if he does not treasure her and work his ass off to make sure that she is happy. Jacob tells Sam that they have a connection that can not be ignored, that he has waited a long time for the chance to be with her again and he is not just going to walk away without doing anything and everything he can to make her see this. Between the fact that Jacob continues to say and do all of the right things and Sam has been rejected by her husband Aiden for the last seven months, she decides to go ahead with the affair with Jacob. As the affair continues, their feelings for each other continue to grow. While Jacob does not like not having Sam all to himself, he tells her that he would rather only have her part of the time than to not have her at all. He says he would wait sixteen more years to feel the way he is feeling for her again. But, soon Jacob decides that he wants more out of their relationship. Sam does not know if she is ready for that. She is not ready to leave her husband Aiden but she does not want to give up Jacob either. REALLY HOW SELFISH CAN YOU BE SERIOUSLY!!! This book had me wanting to throw my kindle at times because of how selfish Sam could be just stringing these two guys along because she wants both of them and can not make a decision. As the story continues to progress Sam reconnects with her husband Aiden while still continuing to see Jacob. She does however try to end their relationship on several occasions but he is always able to convince her not to do so. Jacob is upset by the fact that she has reconnected with her husband, and eventually Aiden finds out about the affair. So, who does Sam end up with? Does she stay with her husband Aiden or does she leave him to be with her first love Jacob? Well, I can not tell you how it ends you just have to read Love Square for yourself to find out.

Trust me you do not want to miss this book. If you like your love scenes HOT and STEAMY then this is the book for you. I think the author wrapped up the story very well. She showed you that Sam did finally grow up and make some hard decisions. To go from her lowest point, which was revenge night to learning the importance of being able to communicate with the man that she loves. To know that if she wants something she has to be able to say it because she can not expect him to read her mind. That showed how much she really changed during the course of this book. I think she redeemed herself in the end, even though it was a long hard road to get there. I am cautious when it comes to reading books that involve love triangles. I am the girl that gets far too emotionally attached with these characters. I want the happily ever after and with a love triangle that does not happen because someone always ends up being hurt in the end. But, in this case I am glad I took the chance and I think you will be too. I would definitely read other books by Jessica Ingro. I look forward to Jacob's story. I think after reading Love Square you will too. 3.5 Stars.

Wow! This was a book that left me with many mixed emotions. Let me start by saying it has a love triangle and cheating, but before you push it aside and say that it’s not for you, I have to tell you that this one is different. This is not a story about some college age or young twenty somethings. This involves a couple in their thirties who have been together for 10+ years, and are going through real life situations that bring along strain and insecurities to a marriage.

Sam and Aiden have been together since college, but have been unable to conceive a child. Sam is a published Author and Aiden is an Architect. Day to day life gets in the way and their relationship falls into a rut, where they have not been intimate in over 6 months. They are not fighting, they just aren’t really talking anymore. While at an Author Signing, Sam reconnects with her high school love, Jacob, the one that broke her heart. Jacob wants Sam to give him a second chance and he actually gives her the attention that she’s been missing from her husband. They begin a torrid affair and when I say torrid, I mean smokin’ hot sex scenes that leave you breathless!

Things get more complicated when Aiden finally gets out of his 6 month funk and is now showing Sam the affection she’s been craving for so long. She is now faced with the difficult decision on who to choose, when she’s in love with both of them. At first I felt for Sam and sort of understood why she was doing what she was doing. However, when things became more complicated in the love triangle I got to a point where I wanted to scream at her for her stupidity and horrible decision making. What it really came down to, is that she needed to step back and find herself, her self-confidence and self-worth. She had a low opinion of herself and felt that being wanted by two different men validated her.

If you’re wondering why it’s called Love Square and not Love Triangle, I will tell you that a 4th party enters the picture but don’t want to spoil who that is. Oh, and the last few paragraphs in the epilogue were definitely a shocker. I didn’t see that coming and props to Aiden! That’s all I’m going to say
This was an amazing novel for a debut author and I can’t wait to read book 2, which is from Jacob’s perspective! By the way Jessica, I loved how you incorporated in the current Author Signings into the book including BAE and Naughty Mafia. We’ll be heading to Vegas next week so I’ll be sure to look out for Colt in Body English!

An ARC was kindly provided by the Author for an honest review.

Wow this book… CRAZY!! I couldn't quite get my thoughts in check with this one. The characters really reaped havoc on my emotions that’s for sure!

We've got Sam. She was in a marriage slump. She felt neglected and abandoned by her workaholic husband, Aiden. I didn't feel sorry for her, at first. If she was so upset about dressing sexy to try to entice Aiden to come to her and fulfil her sexual needs and then he ended up never actually falling for it, well come on Sam, take the lead and jump him already! But then again, maybe that wasn't how their relationship worked in the past. Maybe Aiden was always the aggressor and Sam wasn't comfortable taking the lead? In that case, jeez Aiden, you have a beautiful willing wife, go pay attention to her already!

Then an old high school boyfriend, Jacob, comes back into her life. Smouldering hot, sweet, horny, cop, Jacob! Now I know some of you aren't into love triangles, or love squares as this book title suggests, I still think you should read it, because Jacob is just so worth it all!

And now at this point of the story I'm feeling sorry for Aiden because come on, we all know Jacob is now talking care of all Sam’s “needs”. And then all of a sudden I'm like “Aiden who?” pretty sure Sam felt the same way. Hot sex… that’s all that needs to be said.
Should I even mention crazy Brooke? I so did not like this conniving little weasel. She wormed her way into Jacob’s life. Actually, there’s a story behind why she’s all up into Jacob, but you’ll have to read the book to find out that part. Ugh, people will try anything to hold onto or manipulate the ones they love so they won’t be kicked to the curb.

So to sum up my feelings on Love Square…
I feel sorry for Sam.
I dislike Aiden.
I hate Sam.
I love Jacob.
I love Sam.
I'm annoyed with Jacob.
OMG Brooke go crawl into a hole and die already.
I love Jacob again.
Ugh Sam did you really just do that?
Oh Aiden, you sneaky little bugger.
Sam you’re what?
Again Brooke, just go the F away!
Poor Jacob, what are you going do now?

So yes, I thought this book was a crazy fun read! And the sequel His Ever After is EVEN BETTER!!!

I refuse to take off of the rating because of my hatred of these characters. I hated Sam. She was the worst character I've ever read. The only person I liked was Jacob and I hated him in the end, too. I feel like he was used as a scape goat to make Sam redeemable.

I think the fact that this book inspired such hatred in me deserves at least 4 stars.

I’m sitting here trying to wrap my head around this book I just read. And as a reviewer, I want to give you an understandable and cohesive review of “Love Square” by Jessica Ingro. Yeah, the more and more I think about it, I realize that this story was too intense, messy, thought conflicting and complicated to do so. This is all in a good way of course *insert smiley face here*.

The heroine of this tale is Samantha Monroe. She is an author of steamy romance novels, (like the one we all love to read) happily married and loving life. At least that’s what she keeps telling herself. With a setback in conceiving children her relationship with her husband is starting to falter. To her, they haven’t been close in forever. This is causing her to believe that his love for her is starting to die. When she is at one of her book signings she meets an ex-flame from High School, Jacob Matthews. The one that left her smitten and broken hearted all in one year. After reconnecting over drinks and sharing a forbidden kiss they start to have a virtual affair which leads to the real deal and starts a snowball of intense passion, angst and pure drama.

This was my first foray into the cheating element of a romance novel. All the books I read thus far had the male and female characters purely single trying to get together and make a relationship happen. So I will be honest, I was a little hesitant in reading the novel at first. Glad I pushed that fear aside. What can I say, do I condone cheating? No. Are we human? Yes. Do we as humans mess up and hence cheating takes place when tempted? Absolutely. Samantha knew point blank what she was doing was wrong. But then again when her other half is treating her like the plague and wants none of her time what was she suppose to do? There were times throughout the book she tried to end the affair, but of course sexy Jacob wasn’t having it and guilt tripped her into staying with their affair. Jacob, Jacob..what can I say about you? You’re sexy, you’re sweet and you were just plain wrong for tempting her. You knew she was in a marriage, may not have been a happy marriage, but nonetheless she was married. Who were you to barge in on that bond? I still love you though, but still you were WRONG! Sam and Jacob seemed like the perfect couple. With that being said, I felt she should have ended her marriage to be with Jacob if she wanted him that badly. I swear with this book I found myself torn between Jacob her secret lover and Aiden her husband. Believe it or not I sympathized with her..to an extent. I did want to slap her silly when she became a stalker to Jacob after their last fight. You have your out to be with your hubby, but you go and stalk your secret lover when he finally stopped giving you the time of day. *shakes my head* Females!

I love/hate books that make me so conflicted and want to throw them against a wall for frustrating me so (once again all in a good way) The book ends with the Epilogue that I did not see coming at all. All I can say is, way to go Aiden for stepping up and fighting to keep his woman at his side. Loved it and made me respect Aiden that much more! Cheating only ends up in pain and misery. If you feel your partner is neglecting you just say so! Sit him or her down and make them listen. I will keep preaching this until I’m blue in the face, communication is key! With that being said out of possible 5, I’m giving this one a 5. Just a tough, realistic and great read!

P.S.- Look out for His Ever After, the follow-up told in Jacob’s POV is due out in October 2013. Can’t wait to read and thank you to the author for making this book his point of view. I want to get inside this man’s head and see what the hell he was thinking!

Please note that the subject matter of “Love Square” is about infidelity - from beginning to end. One must remember this is a story of pure fiction. However, since there are readers who cannot tolerate said subject matter, I will not recommend this novel. Instead, I leave it to the reader’s discretion whether to read said novel or not.

When I finished “Love Square,” I couldn’t quite figure out what to make of it. Did I like it or did I hate it? After mulling it for a while, turns out I really enjoyed it. It’s a story of a woman, Samantha, trying to find happiness in her life; and instead of figuring out how to find happiness within herself, she believes that having a one-time affair with her high-school sweetheart, Jacob, is just what she needs. This is a woman who loves her husband, Aiden, and doesn’t want to leave him; however, it turns out that a night with Jacob isn’t enough. So begins her long affair with Jacob that has her falling in love with him. In love with Jacob is an understatement. She’s totally addicted to him.

Jessica Ingro (“Ingro”) does a terrific job of taking a sensitive and hot-button topic and weaving it into a well-developed story that is sure to intrigue and capture the reader’s attention. The story is told from Sam’s POV. While it is about love and infidelity, it’s also about the ramifications once the affair is discovered; and its effects on each party involved and how crazy it can make one (or all) the parties become. It’s certainly not boring. And the sex – holy shit! Talk about crazy hot and erotic! There’s so much sex going on, it makes you wonder what Sam’s addicted to – the man or the never-ending sex.

As much as I loved the novel, I certainly didn’t love Sam, the female protagonist. Yes, Sam cheated on Aiden with Jacob, but that’s not what bugged me about her. It’s her behavior I had a problem with. Never mind the cheating, the lying, the hurt she’s about to unload on her husband, her total disregard with respect to safe sex and the possibility of getting pregnant is absolutely selfish. She even finds excuses to justify her ongoing affair to assuage her guilt. She even manages to corrupt her best friend, Michelle, when she includes her in a game with Jacob. Speaking of Michelle, I’m honestly surprised how good a friend Michelle turned out to be as she’s there for Sam throughout the entire ordeal. I’m not passing judgment as to whether I think it was right or wrong. I just thought she’d lose a little or all of her respect for Sam.

Did I like Jacob and Aiden? Yes and no. To say any more would just give too much away. It’s just too bad we didn’t get to read both their POV as I think it would have made for a more interesting read. I did have a couple of issues with respect to each of them. Jacob knew she was married and agreed to whatever Sam could give him; but then he changes his mind and wants her to divorce Aiden and only be his. As for Aiden, I don’t understand how he could be so forgiving of Sam. The question of trusting her doesn’t even seem to enter his thoughts as he treats Sam as though the affair never really happened; that it’s just a blip in their marriage; that it didn’t have any impact on their marriage. I’m just baffled by this.

Does the novel end with a HEA? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t. You’ll have to read it to find out. If anything, this novel will definitely provoke a lot of discussion which in my book is a sign of a novel worth reading. So in the end, did I really enjoy reading “Love Square?” Absolutely.

All righty so here is the thing. I read this book and I really wanted to try to be all high ground. I have stewed on this for days. I have had the what if? would I? and holy Shiz - Wowza! This book might cause a few ruffled feathers. On to the review.

First. Sam. One, I wanted to hate her. Then I wanted to run up and say 'oh girl I feel you!' I think she of course went about her choices incorrectly. However this is life. We are human and guess what? No one is perfect!

Aiden and Sam are stagnant. They are stuck in a rut. Aiden is a nice, stable, good man. He works hard and loves his wife. Right? Well you would not know it or she does not. Hence the problem.

Sam is a writer and she longs for the days she feels they have lost. Doubt creeps in. She doubts his love for her. Is he not attracted to her? She is confused and second guessing it all. This is a bad place to be when one handsome, unfinished blast from the past arrives on the scene. Jacob! This is where we get complicated peeps!
”My mind is completely addicted to him. Jacobism – he’s my disease.”

I will not give you the story but damn. It's insanity. It's hot and raw. It's forbidden and desired. Throw your morality compass out the window and just enjoy it.

I was all over the place. I went from MAD. Then heartbroken. Then mad again. I cried. I prayed for someone to just say enough is enough. Then the story gets hot! Scorching pages - Kindle overheat!

I'm not sure but I think that this story will strike a cord with many regardless of whether they want to admit it.

Is the grass greener over there?

So you wonder about the one that got away? The old flame? Well do you? This book explodes with the forbidden and explores it.
"I can't believe I let you fool me into thinking you actually cared about me for something more than my dick. I'm beginning to sense that this whole thing was a way for you to act out a fantasy and let go of some of your inhibitions."

This book pushed buttons. It makes you shake out the things you think and say hmmmm...

In the end I still like really Sam, then I walk in her shoes for a second and well, I'm just like wtf! Who knows! Everyone plays a part, everyone has a story. I'm glad I read theirs...

Oh and btw - don't think yes I have this all figured out because the lovely author throws you a what .. What.. WHAT!!! Yep I did not see that coming. Well played...Sneaky sneak Ingro!

I was provided an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It took me a few days to process this book. No really. I haven’t picked up a book in days. I’ve read love triangles before. But, none like this! The author is not kidding when she calls it a love triangle gone bad (*hint, hint*). I wanted to throw things. I felt torn. I felt excited and angry. I loved every minute of it!

This book isn’t for the faint hearted. There are REAL issues here. Love is hard. Marriage is harder. This book will make you choose and you may even be surprised by your choice. This is a very well-written book that deals with cheating. I do not condone cheating, but hello it’s a book. And it’s GOOD! I read it in one sitting. Well, I had to put it down once to deal with real life, but was glued to it again after. Don’t let the cheating scare you away. You will miss out on some amazing characters and their story.

Samantha Monroe (Sam) is a writer. During one of her book signings, she ran into her ex boyfriend, Jacob. Nice right? Well, Sam is married to Aiden. They’ve been having marital issues. Aiden loves his wife but they’ve grown apart. What married couple does not have issues? Sam feels so disconnected from her husband, Aiden. He is so wrapped up in work. She feels like his roommate. Does this give her the right to stray from marriage? No. But don’t judge yet. You have no idea.

Jacob. Sexy Jacob. Why do you want Sam? She is married. He doesn’t care. Ok he does. But, he wants Sam more. Their chemistry literally ignites the pages. Their scenes are intense, emotional and heart-felt. You also get to experience the guilt felt by Sam. Believe it or not, she truly loves, Aiden. Oh and yes, I am team Jacob! No judging!

Sam ends up making her choice, but she soon realizes that you cannot play with anyone’s heart and expect for yours not to be broken as well. And no, it doesn't go the direction you think it will. As the book is ending, the author throws a huge wrench in the story. Whoa! Did not see that train wreck coming! Genius!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It brought me out of my book funk. I cannot remember the last time, reading a book in one sitting. It was great. I need book 2. Now. If you are looking for a well-written, angsty, sexy novel, then this is for you! Every new adult fan should read.

Love Square is not a light-hearted easy read. Especially if you're married or ever been cheated on. You won't automatically relate or sympathize with Sam as a character. In fact, you may dislike her quite a lot through most of the book. I know I did.

Sam's marriage is a lonely one. Her and her husband live separate lives in the same house. There is little connection, little affection and no passion. When she runs into her first love and he offers her everything she isn't getting at home...she caves.

I can't say I agree with many of the decisions Sam makes in Love Square. I actually am not sure I agreed with any at all. I can understand where her head was at in relation to her marriage but her actions were pretty reprehensible in regards to how she treated both men in her life.

Jacob is a pretty great guy, if you can get past the fact that he actively goes after a married woman. I didn't dislike him as much as Sam but I sure did not instantly love him either.

"I'd rather have a bleeding heart than no heart at all."

Love Square is an emotional ride laced with some amazingly steamy scenes. There is a lot of sex because this is a very physically passionate story. Emotions are at a high and rational thought is at a low.

When I finished Love Square, my entire opinion about the story changed. While reading I couldn't get past the fact that I didn't like Sam. By the end, I realized that maybe I was never supposed to. Not really. Don't get me wrong...she isn't an absolutely disgusting human being. She's just dealing with a serious situation in a not so great way that can only lead to someone getting hurt. But matters of the heart are always tricky and there are a lot of hearts involved here.

Honestly, I don't even feel like it so much Sam's story as it is a bit of a prequel to Jacob's. The epilogue proves that there is much more to the story than we were lead to believe, by giving one hell of a twist that will keep you on your toes until you get your hands on His Ever After.

Jessica Ingro has a true gift for writing, as is evidenced by this book, her debut novel, Love Square. It's an incredibly emotional story and one that will stay with me for quite some time. The plot does involve cheating, and while you may have a hard time accepting that people do cheat on one another or you do not want to read about it, let me just say that Jessica handles this subject beautifully.

Love Square is the story of Sam and Aiden, a married couple who have been together for many years and gone through a lot together, some good, some bad. This is also the story of Sam and Jacob two people with a history who reconnect and suddenly come to realize maybe they should not have gone their separate ways all those years ago. From here the story just keeps getting better. I was glued to my Kindle from start to finish. I shed a whole lot of tears while reading this book. The author does a great job of expressing the characters' emotions so realistically, I could feel everything they were feeling. I kept going back and forth between the two hot sexy men when thinking about who Sam should ultimately end up with, I could see why she had this same issue.

Jessica Ingro is also extremely talented when it comes to writing HOT sex scenes and Love Square has plenty of them! Be prepared before you go in because these scenes will have you squirming in your seat for sure! The passion and excitement are conveyed perfectly to the reader each and every time, and for this I thank you Jessica!

The epilogue of this book actually offered a surprise that completely threw me for a loop - I did not see it coming and it was PERFECT! I will not say anything else. But I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read His Ever After (Jacob's story) and the upcoming release Bound in Blue coming soon! Jessica Ingro has a fan for life right here!

I loved this book and Sooo happy Kayla the Bibliophile told me to read it!! I am dying for book 2! I only gave 4 stars b/c I liked the book but not something I will want to re read over and over but still an amazing read couldn't put it down.

Sam is emotionally draining to say the least. I relate to her a lot and so reading the book brought up a lot feels and emotions. I was feeling everything right along with her. This book keeps your head spinning from beginning to end, and the very end left me yelling ohhh no you didn't!?!?! Book 2 needs to get out ASAP haa b/c I need Jacob's story and love that it's his POV from after book 1 ending not replay of everything from book 1.

Through the book you're on the edge of your seat waiting for her to get caught and see what the aftermath will be. The only thing I wish we could of seen is WHY Aiden was like he was for so long. I've been married for 10 yrs and together 13. The longest I've gone without sex is 2 months but then there's always other ways to be intimate in between that time. But almost a yr with out ANY For of intimacy at all? That is what baffled my mind? I wanted to know WHY and didn't get an answer. Just saying was busy working isn't a sufficient answer, there are such things as quickies.ect something had to be going on in his head to not want to do anything. She was ready and willing an he still turned away. UGH SO frustrating haaaa

I received an ARC of this book, and was so excited to read it! Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's kind of a touch subject dealing with a love triangle, especially when there is a marriage involved. However, I think this book really gets to all the "what-ifs" in life. What if you had stayed with your first love? What if you hadn't gotten married? What if your marriage were perfect? It also made me think of the infamous saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side".

I wanted to yell at Sam in the beginning, and also Aiden, and tell them to get their issues out in the open. And then, I wanted to yell at Sam and knock some sense into her after meeting Jacob. I felt like I was in the love triangle with all the up and down and questioning emotions I felt! I understand why Sam is torn, even though it's a bad situation on a whole. I kept flipping between who I wanted her to end up with.

I would recommend this book completely. I think it's a great story, and I do like how the characters are portrayed, and the truth that lies in the overall story of the book. It's a little tough to read, as I'm married, but I "get" it. No marriage is ever perfect, and it's how you handle these imperfections that leads to whether or not your marriage will last. I can't wait to read the follow up book!

I'm really torn when it comes to this book! The writing was good and the storyline was interesting but the main character, Sam, was so horrible I found myself hoping it would all blow up in her face!
Sam is married to a wonderful guy, Aiden, and they've been trying to have a baby. It's not working so they've grown a little distant from each other because of the stress. She is out of town and runs into her old high-school boyfriend, who wants to start up with her again. Instead of talking to her husband about how she's feeling she starts emailing sexually explicit scenarios to her old flame, then ends up sleeping with him. Her relationship with her husband rekindles at the same time as she's sleeping with the old boyfriend but she wants to keep them both. The old boyfriend ends up having feelings for her but she keeps trying to hold him at arms length so she can have her cake and eat it too. When it all starts to backfire she tries to do what's best for her and doesn't care about the consequences to anyone else. Some of the things she did were so awful it made me think the outcome would be both men leaving her but it didn't end that way.
I guess if the author was able to come up with a character that provokes such strong feelings in a reader it deserves at least 4 stars!

This one has you feeling like you're on a roller coaster ride! There were times I was so pissed off at Sam's selfishness that I wanted to punch her in the face lol! I'm pretty sure that there are women out there that feel neglected and lonely and end up in the arms of someone who makes them feel like they're everything to them. Right until the end it seemed that Aiden was this great guy...little do we find out til the ending that he's quite the manipulator too! I always felt that it was partly Aiden's fault for her having the affair...is it just me or wouldn't you want to figure out why you're not having sex with your partner after 7 months!? I'm not sure why but I found myself rooting for Jacob to win her heart...whether its because he was sam's first love or what but I seriously loved him! Even when he said he was going to move on deep down I wondered if he wasn't testing Sam to make her put forth her feelings. It always seemed he was laying it out for her but she always held back. Now Brooke was a total bitch right from when she enters the picture. You knew she was marking her territory and digging her claws in right from the start.
This book has lots of sarcasm and ups and downs. Definitely worth a read! Looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book!
