She's so into different alphabet books over story books right now. This one is one of her favs. We enjoy trying to bend into the letters like Grover, too.
This is a Sesame Street Little Golden Book. It features the character Grover as he makes himself into each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. There is a bold upper case letter on each page. Each letter also has a short verse that contains words starting with the letter. It would be a good alphabet book to share with young readers and they could try to follow Grover's lead in making letters themselves.
Grover muppet demonstrates to the reader his way of making the shapes of the whole alphabet using his own body. The reader can see the cuteness in pictures and words, and notice the descriptive words chosen begin with the letter formed.
This is a fabulous way of helping little ones with their alphabet. Grover...lovable Grover has his own way of making each letter and talking about words that begin with those letters! And you could almost get your child to move into the forms that he's done.
This Golden Book is so cute. I love how cleverly it is written and the pictures to encourage children to spot words beginning with a particular letter of the alphabet.
