I felt like I needed to have read the previous 3 books before reading this one. A bit of it was lost on me. I did enjoy the story but the characters were poorly developed. Aside from the description of Rocky's chest, I have no idea what he looked like and none whatsoever what Maggie looked like. No description of the newborns, etc. Best I can describe this one is very vague.

A Sweet Romantic story of young love being reawakened and some cute were-bear cubs!

Description:

Running for her life, there is only one man who can help her now... her Rock.

Maggie is on the run from those who killed her husband nine months ago. She knows the only one who can help her is Rocco, a grizzly shifter she knew in her youth. She arrives on his doorstep in labor with twins. Magical, shapeshifting, bear cub twins destined to lead the next generation of were-creatures in North America.

Rocky is devastated by the news of his Clan brother's death, but he cannot deny the attraction that has never waned for the small human woman who stole his heart a long time ago. Rocky absented himself from her life when she chose to marry his childhood friend, but the years haven't changed the way he feels for her.

And now there are two young lives to protect. Rocky will do everything in his power to end the threat to the small family and claim them for himself. He knows he is the perfect Alpha to teach the cubs as they grow into their power... if their mother will let him love her as he has always longed to do.

My Thoughts:

BEAR-SHIFTERS!!! I adore bear-shifters and when a story includes 2 darling little cubs well right off the bat this story has 2 stars:)..However, this is a sweet short 116 pages book who's main characters are sweet. The female protagonist Maggie is a tad angsty but that is to be expected in her circumstances. However Rocky just jumped into my heart and stayed there, he was incredibly caring and responsible knowing his change to have his first love is right in front of him. Yes, things happened quickly in the book but I didn't really find that it took away from the story. I definitely would recommend this book to Shifter lovers and if you want to read about a sweet caring bear!! this is the book for you.

3.5 Star read for me leaning to 4 if it had been a longer book. I look forward to reading other books by Bianca D'Arc.

Summary
Not as good as the usual book from Bianca D'Arc. “Rocky” is anti-climatic – the battle, the romance, the drama are all over before they even begin. However, there is still some good fun to be had and the baby bears are adorable.

Tingle Factor
The sex is lukewarm. Apparently grizzly bears aren't wild in bed. I will cut them some slack though because they're new parents. It's not the sexiest time in anyone's life. Picture gettin' busy to babies' cries instead of Marvin Gaye's “Sexual Healing”.

Romance
This book is all about the romance. Lost loves reunited with mystical approval.

Drama
The heroine, Maggie, is on the run from evil forces and they have tracked her to her newest refuge. When they find her though, the fight seems a bit short for all the build up.

Heroine
Maggie is a bit insecure and never really shows the grit which supposedly kept her alive on her own for months. She is in an overwhelming situation where she fears for her life, just had twins, and is dropped in the middle of a huge pack of weres. The story would be more fun if she floundered either more or less. Maggie is very likeable though.

Hero
Rocky is a teddy bear who volunteers for everything before he's even asked. I'm not sure I'd be able to respect him in the morning. He does sound very cuddly though.

A solid 4.5 stars for being a good fast read that made me like the characters within the first 20 pages and giving me a grizzly shifter. I have found another author and series of books that I really want to read. The writing is tight and concise, the characters are well fleshed out, and they seem real in how they react with each other.

Rocky, Maggie, and Tony grew up together and in the end only one could get the girl. Tony and Maggie were married and Rocky moved away because though he was happy for them he could never have the girl he loved. Years later Maggie shows up Rocky's doorstep in labor with twin male cubs and the news that Tony has been killed by a mage and she has been running from him for the past eight months. Rocky is shocked at the news since his best friend and clan brother was also a powerful Shaman and whoever killed him would have to be as powerful or more. He is happy still to have Maggie come to him and vows to keep her and her children safe. Will she let him be more than a protector however?

There was not a lot of action here but you do have a few hot scenes, cute baby grizzlies, sweet love story, and a great vanquish. This may not be for everyone, but I'm a sucker for a long lost love story. Plus it has a guy shifting into a big bear!

Maggie is in labor, her husband has been murdered by a radical, evil, magical cult and she been hunted for 8 months by this evil group. She shows up on her husband best friend's, Rocky's, door step. Things are definitely about to change for Rocco (Rocky), the grisly shifter.

Rocco was in love with Maggie all through high school, but his best friend beat him to win Maggie's affection. Now he finds out his best friend is dead and Maggie needs him. He will do anything to protect Maggie and her twin grisly shifter cubs (babies).

This is a nice easy novella, with an enjoyable Christmas twist. I really enjoyed the story. As with a good novella, it packed a lot into a short time. Bianca D'Arc gets 4 stars from me.

A real bear hug of a story.

Okay, I really like and enjoy re-reading the books in this series - plus book 1 of the String of Fate series ( Cat's Cradle) which are so connected to each other that it's sort of a Celtic knot of stories. This is one of those stories that has you wishing that you were part of the family/pack. Everyone lending a hand where needed and welcoming the human widow with open arms. I also enjoy the way Ms. D'Arc brings her main couple together BEFORE the last chapter and they face the foe together - hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder.
Definitely on my re-read list.

Wonderfully creative…

This novel focuses of Rocky, a were bear and Maggie the girl he had wanted but who’d married his best friend. The story has a lot of romance and plenty of twists to keep the reader interested. The novel is well written and Bianca D’Arc draws characters the reader is helpless to do other than love. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will definitely be looking at reading more by this author. An absolutely wonderful creative read.

There is sexually descriptive text in this book so is not recommended for younger readers.

This was a okay read, but I didn't feel any connection between the characters. I was constanly told about the connection, I just couldn't feel it. I didn't care for the h or H, damn I didn't even care for the twin babies. There was way to few interaction with the twins, they were so quiet and not at all stressful. Babies are loud and need lots of attention, and where talking about twins here! And not only that, they're shifters. Maggie makes it sound so easy being a mother with newborn twins! All women who think being a mother is a difficult job, shame on you! ;-O

Wow. I loved this book. I have read another series by this author and loved how she wrote. I have added this series to read next.

Maggie is on the run from an evil person who killed her husband. She lands on the doorstep of her childhood friend, Rocky just in time to give birth. Rocky has always loved Maggie but stepped aside when his friend/brother started dating her. Rocky is a grizzly shifter as well as Maggie's husband. Maggie didn't know until his death who her husband was. Maggie and Rocky get another chance at love.

While not the 'Great American Novel', this book was a satisfying read with a nice plotline and great characters. I loved the build-up of the story, and the novelty of Grizzly shifters. It delivered for a nice afternoon read.

Wow! I never knew that weregrizlys were so damn hot. I loved how Rocky never stopped loving his childhood crush and waited forever until he finally got her. I especially loved how he manned up and took over the protection of the twins as their alpha. All in all this is a great read.

So hmm... kind of boring. Maybe I'm not in the mood but I thought it was a bit juvenile in speech and actions on the part of the woman. She promises her husband to go to Rocky when he dies. She is a little over a month pregnant, so what does she do? She runs around for 8 months on her own knowing nothing about what will occur with a bear shifter pregnancy. Last minute she is at his door step. This is where the story begins, yep. So she doesn't get that much better and the set up of pack there is a utopia of helpful commune life. Yea but no strife, no jealous exs, no issues with protection, every one is very, happy, happy... magical twin bears are being born!

Rocky for his part tells her that he knew she was his mate from years and when she chose her husband, his best friend (brother in bears) he leaves. Really? He doesn't make sure that the relationship works. No he has been in contact for years with the husband. It is all love and self sacrifice I guess.

This was OK and good in the spot of the demon and fighting him. Only problem is that it is a PNR with an erotic element not a UF so the stars don't go up. Good back story but just OK romance.

Maggie was on the run and pregnant with twins...cubs!

Maggie found out her husband, Tony was a bear shifter; in his final weeks of life. He was afraid she couldn't accept him fully, which made her sad. She was told to run to Rocky for safety. She was so scared and needed to keep away from Tony's killer. Always staying weeks apart from being discovered. Maggie needed to find Rocky! Finally she found his house, as labor pains shook her. What a way to see Rocky again. All three of them went to school together, Maggie was close to both men. Tony asked her to the prom, and that sealed her affection. After the wedding, Rocky moved away. It was difficult for everyone. What will happen know that Maggie needed Rocky? She had always loved him, but could he feel the same. The danger was coming for her, can she be safe here with Rocky? She had no one else to lean on.

Literally, nothing happens. There are like two conversations in this book, and they just happen over and over and over again.

I didn't like the MCs, didn't like how quickly Maggie moved on to her DEAD HUSBAND'S BEST FRIEND!

And having her ex give approval in ghost form in the epilogue didn't fix this.

I just really didn't like anything about this story. Couple was bad. The magic and demons and stuff was bad. It was just all bad.

(inglés). (Explícito). Me encantó, todo muy tierno y bonito sin llegar a ser empalagoso ni muy trágico, solo un poquito triste. Final feliz.

Rocco (“Rocky”) Garibaldi is one of the most magical of the Were-shifters—a grizzly bear. Rocky has worked hard both in his career and with the Were Lords in helping to keep all Others as safe as possible. For the most part, Rocky has a great and fulfilling life. But there is one thing that Rocky regrets and that is not having the one woman he loves—a childhood friend who married his best friend. Rocky moved away from his friends right after they married knowing he would not be able to see them daily and endure the ache. Then, Rocky gets his most secret wish one night and more.

Maggie Hobson is nine-months pregnant and on the run from the people who killed her husband a few months ago. Now, despite being scared, constantly looking over her shoulder and about to give birth, Maggie turns to the one man she hopes will be able to protect her and her children. Maggie grew up with two remarkable men and married one of them, now she is headed to the only other man she has loved. Having promised her late husband she would go to Rocky right after she learned their secret, Maggie is now keeping that promise.

Rocky goes out to see who is in the car in his drive and receives the first of many, many shocks that night. The first shock is Maggie is about to give birth to twins. The second is that her husband, and his best friend, is dead, and the next shock is that she knows Rocky is a shifter. Rocky helps Maggie that night and sets himself up as her and the twins’ protector, although he really wants a much more personal bond with Maggie and her boys. Maggie is taking life one day at a time, and the first step is to gain her strength and take care of her newborn twins. It seems almost too easy for her to fall back in love with Rocky. After all, he was her second love in high school. As each day passes, Maggie learns more about the Others and those who threaten them—Others who now include her boys. Maggie gives Rocky a leg up in defeating at least those who killed her husband when she turns over information from her husband just as a new deadly threat begins to threaten the new love and life that Maggie and Rocky are building. When it comes time for action, Maggie will learn the true strength in magic and love as the Others win the first of what might be a long skirmish with a very old enemy.

The Goddess is smiling as Rocky and Maggie are given a second chance to live a life of passion-filled adventure in Rocky. My heart wanted to break with all that Maggie was forced to go through before she received so much in Rocky and her twin boys. I loved how calm and focused Rocky was no matter what the situation was and no matter just how shaken he was. I enjoyed watching as Maggie and Rocky journeyed along a path that could have torn them apart as easily as it bound them together. The antics of the newly born twins had me laughing several times. I truly hope that we get a chance to see them growing up as this series goes on. I can already tell that while the first battle has happened, this is going to be one long and harsh war before it’s all over. Rocky is packed full of suspense, passion, and the love of friends and family wrapped up in a book that has already become a re-read for me.
