Pleasantly surprised with this. Ivy is a demon hunter whose brother disappeared 3 years ago. While at a job, she runs into Ronan. Ronan is a half-demon, turned against his will. Ronan wants to find Quinn for his own reasons. I liked the directions this want. Ivy realized that not everything is black and white. Nice wrap-up. Looking forward to next book about Quinn (who needs to learn his own lessson) and Daeva.

Okay, so I just finished this, but not because I didn't like it. Clearly I did. Life intervenes, such as it were. That's all.
So, onto the book. It was fun and fast-paced and sexy and imaginative. I definitely recommend this.
What I liked...
I liked all the imaginative gadgets that Ivy came up with for hunting demons
I liked that Ivy had short hair, because women with short hair rock. 'Nuff said.
I liked the names Ivy and Ronan as well. Different (at least from any characters I've read).
The author's voice and prose - there wasn't anything grating about her writing style to drive me bananas the way Jocelynn Drake's did in Angel's Ink.
All the hot sex!!!
What I didn't like...
I don't know that I connected as deeply with Ivy and Ronan as I wanted to, and some parts of their relationship development felt rushed.
One of my few peeves is the cover. Ivy is clearly described in the book as having chin-length jet black hair, described by one of her demon marks as "Snow White" - now take a look at the cover and tell me if that looks like Snow White to you? No? Didn't think so.
Anyway, this is kind of a short and sweet review, but it was a very entertaining read and felt different than anything else I'd ever read. I liked it a lot!!!

Good pacing, strong characters and hot romance made this a fast read. Demon huntress Ivy is searching for her lost brother and teams up with cambion (human turned demon) Ronan, who has his own murkier motives.
I especially liked the 'demon stickers' Ivy invented.

What it had going was all the sex scenes without a condom. Demon hunters that was my favorite part of this book.
What i had trouble with was the older brother leaving Ivy for three years and without a call...letter or anything to let her know that he was okay. When she finds him..no yelling or crying at him. I expected it to be more than that.
I found out that i really didn't like her brother; Quinn. I like Ivy as she is a kick ass demon hunter but what i didn't like about her was that she wasn't showing emotions to others as much as i thought she should.
Ronan is wasn't that bad. I really like him for his way to make Ivy feel emotions.

Ivy Strom and Ronan something...
she's a demon hunter (from a long line of demon hunters)… he's half demon (as human, attacked by demons and rather than killing him, one gives him a drop of his blood... he doesn't like being a part demon, and has made a deal with a sorcerer to get a grimoire key (that Ivy's brother has...)
he's charming... she's tough... they find her brother... they fight together... they make love... he steals her necklace... but returns it... then returns to her... ahhhh

This is very good. Ivy Strom is looking for her brother who had disappeared from her life 3 yrs. ago to fend for herself. She has become a very fierce demon hunter in her own right . She has hit a dead end and needs Ronan Ames, who is half human and half demon, for his abilities to lead her to him. There is lots and lots of action. Had a hard time putting this down. Someone is out to kill Ivy and Ronan has a hard time keeping her alive. Highly recommend.

The romance and interaction between the two main characters was as expected and the story line spectacular! I want to read more about Ronan....who would of thought he could be such a dashing hero! I feel that Ivy Storm needs a rethink she is not as tough as what she makes out she is... she brings nothing to the story i feel.. How she has survived so long is beyond me!

It was very well written, and the action scenes were so well done that it made me feel like I was there and living it. All the characters had believable backstories and real emotional issues that some people go through in real life despite this being a fictional story.

This was quite fun, sexy and action packed. However it was cliche at the end and could see some of the twists happening. This was one of the better nocturne mills and boon books I have read though.

It was really good, lots of action, drama, building-ish relationship, mystery with a touch of paranormal. I just didn't like how her brother just left her alone to defend he life by herself for 3 years with no one but her self and her life training, and he leaves nothing other than a note saying 'don't find me'. She is stubborn and that's what she'll do go hunting and will take any demons down that's in her path. Ronan was turned against his will then years prior and he's now looking for a way to become fully human and Ivy is part of this path. They will fight but they will love.

Paranormal romance between a feisty demon huntress and the cambion (half demon - human who survived a demon attack) she needs to help her find her missing brother.
The world created here is like an episode of Supernatural - we have devil's traps, families of hunters, demons and whole towns of possessed people. The mythology is based around "the key of Solomon" but it takes that literally as a physical key that will open a Pandora's box like chest containing a grimoire that can release 48 powerful demons, rather than the key being the book itself.
An evil cabal want the key and set our hero to get it. In order to get it however he will have to betray the women he's fallen in love with.
I loved the world, the majority of the story and I really liked the heroine in the first half. She's strong, kickass and really cool. However, I found she became far more passive in the second half - the hero has to save her several times and there's no role reversal where she saves him. I also thought that the woman she was at the beginning wouldn't have forgiven him nearly so easily. Not too keen on stories where the hero deliberately betrays the heroine - still it did make him 'human' and more interesting than the often too-good-to-be-true sort.
The romance is heavily based on lust and I would have liked a little more emotional build, particularly to excuse the ending.
The story was exciting and fast paced, but it felt very rushed. I was disappointed with the demise of the villains. The arc of seductive Sallos, demon we meet at the beginning, fizzles out and we only hear that our her kills most of the Cabal members - we don't actually see it. I would have much preferred a single big bad with an explosive showdown.
On the whole though this isn't half bad. fans of supernatural will love it. Its fairly sexy, the heroine's strong and the hero's not bad... plus neither suffer from stupid name syndrome. hurrah! The title "releasing the hunter" is fairly naff, but don't let that put you off.

So, this book starts out with a letter to the readers explaining that the writer is a fan of Supernatural and this whole book started as an idea of what Sam and Dean's sister would be like, if they had one. I wasn't quite sure how to take that, but I trudged on.
So, this book is about Ivy Strom. A demon hunter, who comes from a family of demon hunters. Her brother disappeared, like, three years ago, and she's searching for him. Now, when I say disappeared, I don't mean "Looks like foul play" type of thing. Nah, he left a note said he had to take care of something and not to look for him. Now, I have noticed in these types of things, that when someone does that, it's better to just leave them alone. Cause when you go hunting for them, you realize that YOU have the thing that the bad-guys are looking for and you brought it right to them. (guess what happens...)
Anyways, while searching for her brother and killing demons, Ivy meets up with Ronan Ames. Half demon. She hates him to begin with. He's using her, because he needs to find her brother too. Then, they have a roll in the sheets. Both are all "No, I don't have feeling for him/her. It was just sex." But, this is a paranormal romance book, so... You know they have feelings for each other.
It was an okay paranormal romance.

Ive always been a fan of Vivi Annas books and this one did not disappoint. This book like all of her books pulled me in from the start and had me riveted. Fast paced, spicy, and loads of action. Ending satisfying with hints of whats next to come. Look forward to more.

I would give this book a 3.5 rating. It was a quick read with a lot of action and sex packed into a relatively short book. Overall I enjoyed it, and if I can find the next book in this storyline I would read it.
