In the second book about the Bolton Brothers we focus our attention to big, brawny, intimidating Billy Bolton, the Bolton brother behind the scenes building the bikes for Crazy Horse Choppers. Billy is building a bike for Pine Ridge Charter School with the help of the students. When the bike is completed it will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the school. All the while youngest brother, Bobby is creating “webisodes” School teacher Jenny Wawasuck will not let the Bolton’s walk all over her. She refuses to let Billy intimidate her. Billy finds this a refreshing change since most women are afraid of him. He soon finds himself attracted to the school teacher and her to him. I loved this story. It really emphasizes the prejudice society has about big, brawny, tattooed bikers. Billy was so adorable. Most times he acted like a little kid. Almost as if he couldn’t believe Jenny liked him and she wasn’t afraid of him. When he dressed up or shaved or cut his hair he was so unsure of himself.
I loved Billy Bolton. What more needs to be said. He is the most adorable tough guy with a marshmallow heart of gold (am mixing metaphors).
To the outside world, and the fans of the webisodes Bobby Bolton is making to advertise the bike shop, he's just a big, scary, tattooed hulk of a man who curses a lot and throws tools.
Conned into building a motorbike as a fundraiser for the school on the reservation, he runs into school teacher Jenny Wawasuck who he met briefly at Ben Bolton's wedding. (Straddling the Line).
Jenny is very respectable. She has a teenage son around fourteen, Seth, who is nearly the age she was when she fell pregnant. Her life revolves around Seth, her teaching and the classes she does after school to support teens on the reservation who are pregnant or at risk.
At first glance they look an unlikely pairing, but fatherless Seth becomes the catalyst for building a connection when he becomes Billy's assistant on the bike building project.
And of course there is the sizzle... Billy is the first guy in a long while (a really long while) to light Jenny's fire. But there is Seth, and there is his past and there is a story behind each of his tattoos.
This was a lovely story watching Billy and Jenny grow and develop together. They find they have far more in common than they first realised and it's not just the sexual attraction. Their combined parallel history as a barrier is challenging but not unrealistic and the end was very emotionally satisfying.
A Single mom at a bachelor auction can bring home the wildest ride of her life! Jenny Wawasuck knows that "Wild" Billy Bolton is all wrong for a good girl like her. And Billy will be around for a while being videoed building a bike to be auctioned off to help the Reservation School where she teaches. But then she sees the bond Billy forms with her son Seth—and feels how Billy's touch burns her skin, how his kiss ignites desires she's long ignored. So, after losing him at the auction (she could only spare $700) she brings him home from the charity bachelor auction he paid a ringer to bid in, eventually going for $8790, just for a date alone with Jenny. Now Billy has one night to stake his claim. But in a world filled with blackmailers and gold diggers, can a millionaire bad boy and a sweet single mom turn one chance into forever?
I'm sorry to have to say that I didn't enjoy this at all. I just didn't care for the story-line and there were times it was a bit tough to like the H and h.
Very good book. Billy is the oldest of the Bolton brothers and the least "civilized" of them. In Straddling the Line all three brothers got involved with a charter school on the reservation. Now Billy is committed to building a motorcycle with the older kids and auctioning it off to raise money for the school. The building process is also being filmed for a web production. Billy hates being the center of attention like that but he's putting up with it. On the first day at the school he runs into Jenny who refuses to let the filming affect her or her classes. One thing that does affect her is Billy himself. For the first time in years she's attracted to a man, but what chance does she have of having something that lasts?
I loved both Billy and Jenny. Jenny is a single mother who is a teacher at the school. She has devoted her life to teaching and helping the kids on the reservation and to raising her son. With the Bolton brothers' involvement with the school she has learned to put up with them. Ben is ok, she doesn't trust Bobby because of his player attitudes, and she really doesn't trust Billy. His bad boy image, tattoos and attitude are not what she wants around her students. One of the things I liked best about her was the fact that, in spite of his size and everything else she isn't afraid of him. One of my favorite parts comes right at the beginning when she tells him "You listen to me - I don't care how big or scary or rich or famous you are - you are at my school, on my rez, mister. You make one mistake - touch one student, say something inappropriate - I'll personally grind you up into hamburger and feed you to the coyotes. Do I make myself clear?" She keeps a close eye on him and when her son starts hanging out with him, she gets very protective. But she soon realizes that in spite of his bad boy exterior there is a caring man inside. She sees the interest he takes in Seth and it softens her toward him. She also discovers that she has an intense attraction to him that is like nothing she has ever felt before. As they spend more time together that attraction grows. She's not so sure that there is any chance of a future for them and when his past comes back to haunt him she's sure there isn't. I thought she was a little hard on him at that point but she was standing up for what she believed.
Billy is my favorite of the three brothers. His bad boy exterior actually hides a pretty soft inside that he doesn't show to anyone. When he first met Jenny at Ben's wedding he was so blown away by her beauty that he couldn't really speak, cementing her perception of his scariness. When he saw her again at the school he was surprised again at his reaction to her. He was also amused by her attitude toward him "Billy stood there thinking that his day had taken a turn for the better. Had that pretty little cousin of Josey's really threatened to feed him to the coyotes?" He wasn't used to anyone standing up to him. I liked the way that he also made friends with Seth even before he knew Seth belonged to Jenny. He recognized a lot of himself in Seth and took an interest in him the way that someone had done for him. I liked the way that he treated Jenny also. He wanted to do things for her that he'd never done for anyone else. He also wanted to take care of her the way no one else had. His attraction to her had quickly moved to something stronger but he wasn't sure that it was possible for them. I loved the way that the bachelor auction went and how he went so far to give Jenny such a great evening. It was fun seeing him putting Jenny first and the effect it had on her. Everything was going well for them until a woman from his past showed up. His problem and how he fixed it was not something that Jenny could accept. I loved the way that Seth confronted Billy and then how Billy made things right with Jenny. His scene with her girls was fantastic.
FTC: I love Sarah’s work. I am a fan but I also consider her to be a lovely person. Did it influence my review? No but I can’t make you believe that. I enjoy her voice in a story and I have always liked the themes that she chooses to write about. This one may be my favourite of hers to date and I know it will be a reread.
When you see the words “biker” and “wild” in the blurb of this book, you would be forgiven for thinking that Billy Bolton is the type of character that could be seen in Sons of Anarchy. You would be wrong. As with all of Sarah’s characters, the hero’s may be grumpy and, (in the case of brother Bobby) a bit of a prat, but ultimately they aren’t bad-boy characters.
Billy is a man who gained the moniker of “Wild” from his past antics as a young man who drank too much, played too much and then got into a little trouble with the law. Now, as a man who has matured greatly, he keeps himself to himself and focuses on the bikes. People find him intimidating and, as a man who wants to keep everyone at arm’s length, he cultivates this image. He can’t seem to intimidate Jenny, the teacher of the school where he is teaching pupils to build a bike. She attracts him in a way that no one else has in a very long time and he’s pretty sure that she feels the same so tries to woo her. Billy is unlike any of Sarah’s other male leads and I think he is my favourite. He’s like a Zombie teddy bear; scary on the outside but all cuddly on the inside. The way he goes after Jenny made me swoon and go all melty; he tried to impress her in so many ways. My literary lust was further cemented with the way he deals with Jenny’s son, a boy in-need of a father figure and some male guidance. Readers of this blog will know that if you stick some sort of father-less/mother-less child in a romance, my broody ass is going to get soppy feelings towards the book. The way Billy also enhanced the mother-son relationship has given me mild hero-worship feelings towards him as a character... yes, this is one of those gushing reviews.
Jenny is a bit scary on the outside too. When it comes to her son, or indeed her pupils, she is very protective and spiky. This does lead her to put herself last on the totem pole of need (which never bodes well for a romance). She can’t deny her attraction to Billy though and I loved that she stopped trying to kid herself about it quite quickly. She relished the feelings that he elicited and the sweet hand brushing and tiny smiles between them made me a little gooier on the inside. Of course, there are scenes that are hotter but, as with most books in the Harlequin desire imprint, the heat level is muted. That fit with the theme of the story as this wasn’t a sexually driven romance because of the situations the characters are in. The emotional baggage that both characters have, directly relates to sex so it was fitting that they get to know each other before they seal the deal.
This book was like a virtual hug. It gave me the warm and fuzzies whilst making me completely content. I loved the characters, I loved the side-stories but most of all, I loved the romance. This book was the highlight of a very crappy day and I can’t recommend it more.
"Bringing Home the Bachelor" which I won from Goodreads Giveaways is a tantalizing romance that's set on the rez in South Dakota where Billy Bolton, a wealthy owner of Crazy Horse Choppers, is building a custom motorcycle with the assistance of the boys at Pine Ridge Charter School so it can be auctioned off and the money contributed to crucial school programs. As the story opens charming and handsome Bobby Bolton who's filming Billy's first day at the shop is challenged by an irrepressible primary school teacher, Jenny Marie Wawasuck, after he blithely asks her to remove her battered car from the parking lot so it won't interfere with his shot. When she refuses Billy physically removes it, and sparks fly as passion ignites into a romance that neither expected.
Burdened by the spectre of an unwanted pregnancy in her past, Jenny wants to keep a respectable distance from the brawny notorious bad boy, but when Seth, her fourteen year old son assists him in building a motorcycle she finds her attraction to the oldest of the handsome Bolton men beginning to catch fire. Billy Bolton's also haunted by past mistakes and wants desperately to turn his life around, only to find hope and deliverance in the sassy, sexy school teacher. Will the romance survive the demons from their past? Will they be able to keep the flame alive if Billy sells himself at the charity bachelor auction? These and other questions are answered in this charming romantic story.
As the plot thickens and the sexual tension mounts , the characters seem to come alive in the pages of this novel. Jenny a single mom is a dedicated, hardworking teacher determined to steer the young girls in her school away from unwanted pregnancies. She's respectable, kind and generous, but after meeting the notorious biker longs for the love of a man considered to be her antithesis. The wealthy, brawny motorcycle builder Billy Bolton hides his sensitivity and insecurity behind a mask of determination and stubbornness; his strong language and tough guy image alienating most reputable women. Jenny's stubborn fourteen year old son argues with his mother, shuns responsibility and hangs out with delinquents until he finds purpose and motivation working in the school shop under Billy's guiding hand. This story is filled with a wealth of minor characters including the charming and handsome womanizer Bobby Bolton, the tenacious and intense Ben Bolton, the feisty receptionist Cass, and Don Two Eagles, the shrewd, protective school head.
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful romance which slowly builds on the simmering passionate tension between Jenny and Billy until it culminates in a predictable ending.
Bringing Home The Bachelor was a book that started out slightly rough for me and morphed into one of the best books I’ve read lately…I love when that happens. Sarah M Anderson is quickly cementing her spot in my “must read” author list and it’s because her writing gets better with each book I pick up.
When I started this one I could not stand Jenny (the heroine). She’s this buttoned up, prim and proper, single mom who smothered her child in over protectiveness. There’s no wonder her son had such trouble with the other kids…the overly mothered ones always seem to be the target…esp for boys. She was highly deluded in what she thought her son knew and heard (seriously, she acted like he’d never heard cussing and he was a teenager!). She treated him with little kid gloves when he was on the cusp of becoming a man.
When Jenny learns Billy Bolton will be coming to the school to tape webisodes with his brothers company she feels disgruntled that he will be upsetting her classes in the name of making money. But since a lot of that money goes towards her very poor reservation school she feels she needs to go along. Billy takes a liking to her son and sees in him a young man who needs a male mentor. He puts him to work helping build the motorcycle for charity which in turn means he gets to see more of Jenny, who makes him feel things he hasn’t felt in years. One night stands with tough women is more his style. He isn’t sure what to do with the prim school teacher who had lightning fast wit and snarky, acid laced comebacks.
Somewhere in the book, when Jenny starts loosening up, is when the tides started to turn for me. It takes her a while to feel more like a woman and less like the mom she had been accustomed to being the last 14 yrs. Billy is patient with her while still maintaining his tough as nails exterior. I. Loved. Him. A bearded, motorcycle riding, tough guy? Yes please. Come to Nikki! Then when he shaved the beard, in essence letting Jenny see all of him, even the scars on his soul….well this reader fell even more in love with him. They both had hangups and for awhile I wasn’t sure how they could possibly overcome both their relationship shy issues, but Anderson weaves their tale perfectly.
Sarah M Anderson is a superb story teller who manages to not only write a lovely book but shed light on the problems surrounding teenage pregnancy, Native American Reservations and single parenting. Not many authors can give a reader a love story, a history lesson and a look into the stigmas surrounding society…but she excels at it. I can’t wait for book three!
I give Bringing Home The Bachelor by Sarah M Anderson 4.75 stars!
Bringing Home the Bachelor by Sarah M. Anderson tells the story of the eldest Bolton brother,Billy and a no nonsense school teacher cum single mom,Jenny Wawasuck. They both meet when Billy is building a new bike for the school with Bobby filming him the whole time for webisodes.Billy does not like being near the school and thinks he is all wrong to be around kids because his wild past and reputation combined with his larger than life tattoos and biker appearance scare people away.Jenny is a single mom to a teenage boy who carries a torch for Billy and begins to help him in building the new bike.In an excuse to look after her son,Jenny starts to see Billy more often and slowly begains to feel connected to him.Billy knows that any sane woman would not want him but Jenny is not like other women and she is not afraid of him. Will this unlikely pair find love in each other..??
This Was The Reason Why He Didn't Want Women In The Shop. Too Distracting. When Billy managed to step away from Jenny, he saw that she’d tucked her lower lip under her teeth with enough pressure that the flesh was bleaching white. What had been, up to that moment, a mere irritating attraction shifted right over to desire. He wanted the pretty little schoolteacher in a way that had nothing to do with civility. He wanted to kiss the color back into her lip, to find out how hard she was capable of biting. Then she looked up at him through thick lashes, and he saw his own desire mirrored in her eyes. She wasn't scared of him, nor was she mad at him. As difficult as it was to believe, she wanted him, too.
Bringing Home the Bachelor is a very well written romance with great chemistry between the characters and the best part is that it is written with both Jenny and Billy's POV.The anticipation from the start was great and the romance was filled with sparks, very good kissing and sexual tension. The romance was very smooth with the road bumps being few and towards the end. Jenny was good and I love the way she stood up to Billy, who was such a sweetheart inside all that tough exterior.
Overall Bringing Home the Bachelor by Sarah M. Anderson is an in and out full romance and a good read.Read this if you are a die hard romantic.
As I started Bringing Home the Bachelor, I wasn't sure how "Wild" Billy Bolton's story would turn out. He was the sort of mysterious, "big scary" brother that everyone was afraid of. Until Jenny came along.... Under Billy's gruff exterior lies a more complex, loyal man and I loved finding that part of him alongside Jenny.
Jenny has a past. She's a single mother who became pregnant at a very young age. Billy has demons in his past, too. Because of this, they didn't simply jump into bed, or into a relationship for that matter. I loved that Anderson held off, not only was it the right decision for these two, but it made the build up that much more delicious. The love scenes were well worth the wait: sexy, emotional, and wonderfully written. I had no complaints! These scenes had meaning, and were not simply there to grab the reader's attention.
I liked the interaction between Billy and Jenny's teenage son, Seth. I also enjoyed Jenny and Billy's relationship, it felt very real, as Jenny dealt with being a mom and a woman, a lover and a parent.
There was one very powerful scene, where Billy tells Jenny about his tattoos, opening up to her in a way he has never done with others. There were a few other scenes that stood out, including when Seth comes to the shop to beat up Billy for hurting his mom (not physically, don't worry, but by their temporary break up). In short, I found many places throughout this book where I was either smiling, laughing, cheering, or crying with the characters.
Sarah M. Anderson delivers once again, providing a great romance with real characters and emotions. I loved Billy's story, and I'm confident it will remain my favorite in the trilogy. I am curious to see Bobby's book. At this point, I can't stand Bobby, but I am hoping that Anderson will find a way to redeem him, to show more about his character and/or explain why he's such a sleek jerk....
4.5 STARS! ~ * ~ * ~

I received an e-ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
So, I finished Bringing Home the Bachelor by Sarah M. Anderson. This is the second book in The Bolton Brothers series. I must say that I pretty much fell in love with Billy. Trust me I don't normally go for the big burly scary hero types. However, I think I have a soft spot for Billy. So, let's get on with my thoughts.
So, we get to know the oldest Bolton brother, Wild Bill Bolton. However, Billy has put aside the wild from his name, but people still see him as that big scary guy. Yes, Billy is a bit intimidating, but he does have a good heart. Don't tell anyone he wants that to stay a secret. While Ben is the logical one and Bobby is the charming one, Billy isn't anything like that. Billy is Billy and there is no other way to describe him. At times he wish he could be more like his brothers, especially when it comes to women. One woman he has in mind is Jenny Wawasuck. Jenny is a single mom doing the best that she can. Yes, at times she wish she could be more like other women, but she deals with what she has been dealt with.
Billy would give anything to have a shot with Jenny, because women like Jenny don't normally go after men like Billy. Jenny has the same thoughts. However, Jenny starts to see the softer side of Billy when he's around her son, and is willing to take a chance on him.
I really liked this story, because you see big bad Billy Bolton in a different light a more vulnerable light. A lot has to do with his past. Jenny has pretty much the same insecurities, but she tends to use her son as her shield. So, you see these two people trying to overcome these insecurities to find love. I love it and it's pretty good story. I'm really surprised on how much I really loved Billy. Granted he does have a scary side, but I think he uses that has his shield. Overall, I found Bringing Home the Bachelor an excellent read. I personally think most people will actually fall in love with Billy. So, if you are looking for a pretty good read, you might want to Bringing Home the Bachelor.
Enjoyed reading this contemporary romance book about Billy Bolton. Billy is a "tortured hero," (less than perfect from the hard times in his life,) "wounded" in his heart from past betrayal. Both hero & heroine of this story must heal, share their own painful pasts, become free to love again, to have their "happily ever after love." Even though the hero & heroine get involved in the "physical part" of their developing love, they both realize they must go beyond their physical attraction to be together as couple in life. The heroine poses Billy with the challenge of dealing with his deal "psychological" scar. Amazingly Billy finds a way that is satisfying for the heroine & also for me as the reader of their story. I didn't completely identify with the heroine of this story, that is OK as I wanted to be in her place in this romance story. Billy is handsome, has a "past," seems mysterious (unpredictable,) at times, yet becomes resilient in the face of strong stressful return of past tragedy. This makes he strong as a hero, he can be proud at the end of the story for turning his life around for the better with his heroine. The heroine is temporarily blind to Billy's flaws, but when his fight flares up she forces him to fight on, not give up, or he will lose her.
Jenny is just trying to raise her teenage son and help the girls on the rez avoid the mistakes she made. She's certainly not looking to get involved with one of the Bolton brothers--especially not the big, burly, slightly scary Billy Bolton. But they're going to be seeing a lot of each other, since he's building a bike in her school's shop to help raise money for the school and to be filmed and aired in webisodes. Then Billy actually starts paying attention to her and really seems to know what is important to her--something that hasn't happened in a very long time. He is also becoming a mentor to her son. Maybe this could actually work, but Billy has secrets of his own and Jenny may not be ready to trust him if he's not straight with her. Should Jenny throw caution to the wind and risk it all at one crazy night at a bachelor auction?
I knew she had an attraction to him and I am enjoying the book since I can only grab a couple of pages here ans there while picking up my children from the bus.. Steamy stuff.. I am still enjoying this book.. Glad they kissed!!! I truly enjoyed this book I know it took awhile for me to read but I read at the bus stop picking up my children. Definitely worth it I loved the book. I was very proud of the son for sticking up for his mom. Then in end the mom and Bolton coming together. I will look for the next book Thanks for my happy readings Sarah I did enjoy it at the bus stop. Mad my time a happy waiting..

This is the second story in The Bolton Brothers Series. If you haven't read the first book don't even think about picking up this book and reading it. That isn't how this works ladies and gents. Read the first book because it will show you the family drama that may or may not run into this story. Also it will explain a lot of things. But if you have read the first book then you are in for even more excitement and fun. OH My I was so happy to learn that Josey and Ben are going to be having a baby how exciting.

Wild Billy Bolton must build a bicycle at the school on the Indian reservation for his family's reality show. Billy does not want to do it, but soon finds himself as a male figure in Jenny WaWasuck's son Seth's life. The 13 year old would love to get them together, but Jenny isn't sure what she wants. Billy knows what he wants!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick but engrossing read. Billy is just the type of bad boy I love to love. Both flawed and honest, I love characters that you can just picture putting in the effort for a real world happily ever after.
I was given this book to judge and I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. I liked the story and it was definitely hot and romantic. I liked the reformed bad boy trope...and motorcycles can be very hot. I also liked that Jenny had her priorities in life.
I loved Jenny, she was feisty. Billy was bad boy on the outside and a sweetheart on the inside maybe not my real life fantasy but it still makes for a fun escape between the covers .. of the book.
