Broad, general history of the Korean peninsula. Really just a quick overview of the major historical events, with a bunch of pictures and occasional maps to help flesh it out. Good as an introduction to ancient Korean history, but will likely leave you looking for something with a bit more depth and flavour.
really only just enough to whet your appetite for something more in depth and specific. I picked it up after years of not reading Korean history and I suppose it did its job, however there's no bells nor whistles here. just the facts and they are what they are: chronological and brief.
Good book to use as introductory summary material. Quite brief and by no means comprehensive, though that isn't the point of this book. Written well and touches on just enough to get a good sense of Korean history.
Really great brief overview. I will say, I wish we had gotten a few more details on certain things, but nothing one couldn't easily find with another book or Google search.
