Excellent Book on Haitian music and a great one to accent some of the the more positive features of Voodoo religion. It was done at the same time as Maya Deren's book and film being the first two individual expositions on this culture. The book has over a hundred pages of musical examples. Courlander i talk a bit about one my review on his book on the Hopi's but might point out the wide variety of books he wrote as a freelance ethnomusicologist or folklorist.
