Goddess #3

Goddess Sacrifice

Rate this book
Legacy wouldn’t let a little thing like changing into a goddess distract her from the joys of her senior year in high school...or hanging with her friends. She enjoys the dances and parties and getting closer to Adin...even trying her hand at seducing him. She’s ready to take their relationship to the next level, regardless of any bond she might have with River and any bond Adin has with Venus.

But the prophecy is still there, lurking in the background. And while Legacy is wrapped up with living her life in the now, forces are at work solidifying her future. With the damage done and the full meaning of the prophecy exposed, she’ll be forced to face the consequences...and protecting those she loves compels her to make the greatest sacrifice.

I still like this series. I don't know if I'd agree it's for young adults; it's pretty racy. Perhaps for older teens. I'm not sure if I would want my 12-14 year old reading it. Maybe 15 is even too young. Then again, I started reading Nora Roberts when I was in middle school (thanks, grandma) so who am I to talk? =D

This book is pretty good. There are some parts that are very sad having to do with Adin. I wish her ascension would progress quicker, or that she would have new dreams. All of the books seem to be very similar with the same dreams over and over. Between that and the weather issues that happen over and over, sometimes I want something more exciting to happen. Usually by the end of the book, M. W. Muse delivers with something interesting. The end of this book was the best so far in the series. There is a real cliff hanger. The end prompted me to buy the remaining books in the series (books 4, 5, & 6). Generally I do not like books that are short. I invest a lot of time with characters so I want lengthy books. I like the length of these books though. This one was around 145 pages. It felt like I was flying through the book. I guess the amount of action is consistent with the time frame in the book. Overall, the whole series up until this point was from June to December. She started talking to Adin in the first book on the last day of school at her birthday party. Thanksgiving just passed, and the next book is around Christmas time. Partial Spoiler Alert: So overall, Legacy started dating Adin, found out she will be a goddess, found out exactly who her parents are, had a handful of dreams, figured out the whole Greek mythology thing works, found her weather-related powers, found out about Medusa, met River and became his friend, struck herself with lightening, was present when Adin met Venus, had a wonderful romance with Adin, found out if she stays with Adin she will kill him, broke up with Adin, figured out River's part in Venus showing up, Adin got in a car accident that almost killed him, and had a ton of confusion. On top of all that Legacy attends school, hangs out with her friends, goes to basketball and football games for school, does homework, and at one point works a job. M. W. Muse is very detailed in keeping up with all the details of Legacy's life. All of the characters are likeable and well thought out. As a reader, I was torn on who I wanted Legacy to be with. I like Adin, but sometimes he seems to be a wimp. River sounds hot and is strong. It will be interesting to see who she ends up with. In this book she gets really mad at River. I have already read about 30% in the next book, so I won't say anything about what happens in that book. This series has serious potential to be a 5 start series. I am very picky with my 5 stars and reserve them only for the very best books. I have read several reviews that state the 6th book is the best. I hope to hurry and get there. I gave the first book 3 stars, the second book 3 1/2 stars, and this book 4 stars. I am assuming it will go to 4 1/2 and then 5 in the remaining three books. At least I hope. I am very invested in this series. The final book or end scene in the final book can make or break an entire series. I have already purchased all of the books. It should only take me a two days or so to finish all three books. I hope there is an awesome ending! I am sure I will review the next three.

It started with a FREE offer with the first in the series. Free is always a good thing right? In this case, yes. I was pleasantly surprised by this author! She shares my love and desire of wanting to get through the entire series of a story without having to wait FOREVER for the next book in the series to come out. And don't even get me started on the authors who don't even FINISH a series but keep going and going and going, you get the picture.

M.W. Muse puts a spin on mythology that I hadn't thought of, it intrigued me and had me immediately downloading the other five in the series - yes, all of them - she made them all available!! I plowed through them all.

Intrigue, mystery, danger, romance (book five and six went a little more into detail with the scenes between the main character and the love interest but it definitely kept me interested!) - all of these rolled into six great books that kept my attention. I was angry with the author, frustrated, elated, and ultimately glad I read them.

Sure I would have liked to see something more with the last one - some story lines didn't seem to wrap up - could there be a spin off series?? Perhaps. This author is definitely talented enough to do that and keep me interested!

This seemed better than the last one although at the same time it was too short for my liking. The relationship between Legacy and Adin gets steamier and although I might be fanning myself I wonder why this part would still be in the YA genre probably for mature YA.

The decision of Legacy about Adin was something I suspected but still it made me sad because I really like there pairing more than her with River. Of course, River would take this opportunity to make a move and I was wishing for Legacy to be stronger.

The ending is really a cliffhanger and quite a shocker than the last one but I still have book 4 with me so it won’t be the end for me.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

A good read, just as good as the other books of the series. However, there were a few times, very few, that I found my mind drifting while I was reading. All the great characters are back, and as more factors come into play we learn more about Legacy. Nothing is as it appears to be, I'm definitely kept on my toes with the little twists and turns. I laughed, I cried, I think this is a good edition to a good series. Can't wait to read the next book.

This book was as good as the previous ones! It kept me longing for more. My emotions were all over the place- mainly cried during all the sad parts. It ended with a cliff hanger and i just can't wait until i read the next one.
