★★★★! London Lace, book 1-5 (complete series). Debut by Catou Martine. Enigmatic, bossy, mature and oh so sexy Sir Todd embarks on a no-strings-attached sexual affair that quickly becomes more complex.
This is a series consisting of 5 parts that combined make a 340 page read. I recommend reading as a set and thus I have reviewed as a set. Please note that the Omnibus has been released.
Hero: Sir Todd Montgomery/British/race horse breeder/aristocrat/40 years old approx./dark brown hair/blue eyes/6’1”
Heroine: Eliza Keating/British/Business owner (Candied Locks)-milliner/29 years old/dark brown hair/brown eyes
Story is told from Eliza’s POV (in 3rd person).
Eliza and Sir Todd are supposed to go on a blind date. Instead there first meeting is a disaster. After Eliza “tipsy calls” Todd in the middle of the night to tell him off he ends up stopping by for some hot sex. What starts off as great no-strings-attached sex quickly turns complicated. Todd’s and Eliza’s story ends up being bumpy one with anything from individual baggage to secrets, lies to vindictive exes and more. Add to that the tabloids trying to find a juicy story.
Sir Todd (well as it turns out Eliza is the only one allowed to call him Sir!) has many amazing qualities. At first glance is very handsome and sexy and he is great in bed; bossy and all about aiming to please. He is also enigmatic and brooding with darkness in his past. He is very mature, but above everything I love the way he always knows how to handle Eliza and he says the most profound and insightful things. And oh, did I mention he is Brit?!
Eliza is a “Rags to riches” story; coming from a poor upbringing and after making it as a milliner she has tried shut the door to her past. Career wise she has done really well for herself; she is strong determined and motivated. It’s evident early on that her unresolved past has plagued her relationships and they will play havoc on her and Sir Todd’s. Like so many heroines paired with great heroes, she managed to annoy me at times. This is very much her journey of self discovery and closure.
That said, for some reason I did not connect as well with Eliza as I might have wished. There was something about the 3rd person narrative that left me on the outside, wanting to connect better with her. I might have also wished to get Todd’s POV. I liked so many qualities in him, but I feel like I missed knowing him better.
The sex is off the charts:
And their sex becomes a bit explorative with them venturing out…
Catou Martine did a great job with Todd’s and Eliza’s story. Despite the drama and turmoil it ended up very much being a “feel good” read so I am recommending their story!

Awe, I have loved this series. It's hard to write a review over a 55 page book, but this series has been a hot read. Eliza and Todd keep building with every new novella. The sex scenes are scorching hot plus the story has been really good. I think the next one is the last in the series, so I'm going to go ahead and jump on it now.

I really loved this part of the series a lot! It did start off sad with the death of his mare but the way that Eliza was there for Todd really made me believe in their love. I loved the fact that Todd was so vulnerable in this part. It made him seemed more human and not just a fairy-tale. Throughout this part, the true feelings between Eliza and Todd were creeping out and I just wanted it to be said right out in the open but understood why that couldn't happen. If you would like to know why, you would have to read this series! I especially loved the beach scene! It was so romantic and sensual! As always, the sex scenes were amazing and I couldn't enough of Todd. The ending left me with promises and I'm excited to read what happens with these two lovebirds.

Todd & Eliza are at his Devonshire Evergreen Downs Estate. She’s learned his past secrets, the truth behind his sister and her lover. And that one of the reasons that he hadn’t been in contact with her was because his mare was dying after a particularly difficult birth.
Todd & Eliza shared a lot of emotions in this part. Your heart went out to them with their struggles. The sex was also smoking hot! But I do get tired of characters that seemingly get angry over nothing, just so they can use it as an excuse.
In the end, Eliza gets exciting news and has to return to London, all the while, Todd & Melissa will act engaged. So Todd & Eliza will have to sneak around if they want to see each other.

Oh yes, they're both in love now after only a handful of dates, if you can call them that. We get to see a little bit of why Eliza acts the way she does but by this time it's too late for excuses. We had 3 other installments where we could have explored the way Eliza grew up (sob story, boo hoo) but now it's just forced because we can't just have Eliza and Todd have a perfect relationship. We need conflict. Too late

I think this installment was a bit more sappy then the first 3.
Eliza finds out what is going on with this engagement. Todd loses a mare which is heart breaking. Then Eliza struggles with letting go and loving Todd. Hot Steamy Sex!
Ending was good & I look forward to the next installment.

Absolutely love this series. The characters are very real. Cannot wait for part 5 to see how everything turns out. By the way, I LOVE the beach scene with the horses, etc. I won' t ruin it with spoilers. A MUST read!

Romantic! Love what's happening in this story! Both Eliza and Todd are opening up to one another and we see the love building up between the two. There is also the perfect setting with the beach, horses and picnic lunch!

The story continues where Eliza has travelled to see Todd to find out what is going on only to face her fears and try to run Eliza has to comfort Todd through sadness but will Todd follow Eliza and support her
