I thought The New York was a really good book! It has many twists and turns and is very detailed and structured! I love how the authors point of view is in it! It is probably one of the best books I read! I can not wait to read the second book and see if it is as good as the first book! -Jenna Palumbo
I really enjoyed reading it, just my copy of book had been highlighted over wording for first few chapters by previous owner and I hadn't realised until I was about to start reading! I brought it second hand, but I have a copy of the movie but may be in VCR format, not DVD? Will have a look....
I feel like this book should have been number one in the series before it starts everything for Jane starting her journey to getting the fellowship. they always end up in something going wrong. but I feel like no matter how much technology goes, sometimes sticking to paper is just better.
New York Minute: The Secret of Jane's Success is a cute story from a series developed from a movie. It tells of high school seniors who happen to be twins and opposites. Jane is running for school president after her mentor tells her that will help her get a prestigious award. The only thing is, her friend is running also. As the book progresses things keep happening to Jane's campaign and she thinks her crush is responsible. With a little help from her twin, Roxy, Jane discovers who the real culprit is, impresses her mentor, and gets the boy. This is a cute story for younger teens. The movie tie-in might help wiht reluctant readers also. A lot of people like series also, so it may inspire teens to want to read the whole series, to learn more about the characters. While this book probably won't win any awards, it is entertaining for the right reader.
A very interesting book, that I picked up upon watching the film with my younger siblings and identifying completely with the character Jane Ryan. The book, although rather cliche, presents an interesting prelude to the film, as we get a peek into the polar sisters’ lives and gain a bit more perspective as to who they are. There is a bit of inconsistency in terms of the relationship between the twins, for example they seem to bond in this book but in the film they return to disliking one another, but that can be explained away by one simple fact. Siblings are fickle. Although this may be rather hard to find, I did enjoy this book and I would certainly recommend it to young readers.
This book was cute. It tied into the movie, which I love, so I thought I'd give the books a try when I found them in the dollar store. I think it's a fun and sweet story for anyone to read.
