Directed primarily toward undergraduate business college/university majors, this text also provides practical content to current and aspiring industry professionals. Principles of Operations Management presents a broad introduction to the field of operations in a realistic and practical manner, while offering the largest and most diverse collection of problems on the market. The problems found in this text also contain ample support-found in the book's solved-problems and worked examples. For a more comprehensive version with a quantitative module at the end of the text, see Heizer/Render's Operations Management, 11e. 0133130754 / 9780133130751 Principles of Operations Management Plus NEW MyOMLab with Pearson eText -- Access Card Package Package consists of: 0132968363 / 9780132968362 Principles of Operations Management 0132972549 / 9780132972543 NEW MyOMLab with Pearson eText -- Access Card -- for Principles of Operations Mangement
I know my "good reads" friends out there are not likely to go out and get this book, but I figured I should give myself credit for the text I am currently reading and finally post a book in the "my books" section :)
This text is perfect for the online Operations Management course that I am taking. The organization is straight forward and simple to follow. Examples are relevant to corporate problems today and ethical dilemmas are extremely thought provoking.
My favorite part about this text is how the authors provide a "Global Company Profile" at the beginning of each chapter. The profile is kept to two pages and identifies a unique company (Dell, Boeing, Disney World, etc.) and details how they succeed using the materials that will be discussed in the same chapter. It has been both fun and interesting to read these quick tidbits of info, and I appreciate a reading break from the monotony of a typical text book.
Note to self: Main text for Mgt 105: Production and Operations Management under Prof. Manuel C. Manuel III of the UP College Business Administration, Second Semester 1997-98.
