Stir Sticks & Stilettos #7

Bedding the Best Man

Rate this book
When a woman plots and plans to have the perfect doctor in her bed, a groomsman at her brother’s wedding, things should fall into place like clockwork, right? Not for Kamari Jenson. All her life she’s had the tag of wild child and not because she didn’t earn it, but now she wasn’t her family to see her matured and settled down with the right man.

Everything spins out of control when she winds up in the bed of the wrong man, Travis Huffman, her brother’s best friend, a computer geek she’s known all her life. Travis has been a thorn in her side for as long as she can remember. It doesn’t help that everyone in her life is fooled by her injudicious act—except him. However, every time she looks into her clear blue eyes she sees the truth about the secrets she keeps.

Kamari gets the night of passion she was looking for and so much more, but is she willing to let down the wall surrounding her and give her heart to the best man?

I love romance and writing it is one of my greatest pleasures in life outside of my husband and daughter. My belief in happily ever after began when I was sixteen and started reading romance books. Now as an erotic romance author, I try to show that every woman no matter color, age, shape or size deserves a high level of passion in her life. Residing in North Carolina with my family, I am a dedicated member of Chesapeake Romance Writer.

This is Yvette Hines in fine form. I love how she is able to make lasting connections seem plausible in her short novellas. It's a simple story about how two members of a wedding party come together.

The Heart ALWAYS Knows best

This book is the bomb! I know, I’m ol’ school because I’m old! Kamari always chose the wrong men. She had her eyes set on Patrick, a player, although she knew he wasn’t the one. Then there was Travis who had loved her since high school and it turns out that even with her supposed sneaky ways at her brother’s wedding, she ended up with the best man, NOT Patrick, but Travis. The heart always knows best if you follow it.

I really enjoyed this extremely short read. I was surprised because it's so short that I wasn't expecting to like it so much. But Hines managed to deliver a good story in less than 50 pages. Part of me wished it had been a bit longer of course but other that I have no complaints. I've always had a thing for nerdy men so, had this book been longer, it would've been darn near perfect :)

Could have been so much more to this. Really it felt more like I was reading a story idea than an actual story. I ended up sending it back.
