Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.

She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.

USA Today Bestseller residing in Central Texas from Sacramento, California who creates award-winning teddy bears too!

Gimme a break! Seriously?! She's just met her new neighbor, thinks he's a good guy, and her brother invites him on a double date with his sister, all in a matter of minutes. Wow! Who knew it was that easy to get a guy. My head hurts from rolling my eyes so much already. I hate books that really take fiction to a whole new level of ridiculous.

Action packed non-shifter romance!

Deidre walks to her apartment and meets her new neighbor Dave, who is an undercover FBI agent sent to keep her safe. Her door is ajar, so Dave rushes in and finds her brother. Then Deidre and Dave go on a date with her brother and his new girlfriend to see if she can sense anything about this new girl. But Deidre doesn't like to talk about her extra powers in front of others. Except now it seems that someone is out to get her. The attacks come fast and furious. Will her powers help to keep them all safe? Can Dave keep her safe while she tries to respond to her visions?? Will she ever admit to Dave that she sees the future? Who is trying to kill her and why? Read this to find out.

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are engaging, but it took me a while before I really warmed up to them. This is why I have it 4 stars rather than my usual 5 stars for a Terry Spear book. The book is action packed with some interesting scenes from an Army base. All n all, if you like action packed adventure with some steamy scenes, but not overly detailed, then this is for you. Enjoy!

Well, I'm barely 10% in and I'm seriously considering dumping this book into my DNF pile and moving on. There isn't anything major so far, just a lot of little things that are driving me nuts.

First we have Dave... He's known Charlie and Deidre all of a hot minute and he's turned into a horny teen and they've let him shoehorn into their lives like he's an old family friend. Completely unrealistic for someone like Deidre who has an aversion to journalists bordering on hatred or a phobia.

Then there's the instance of the drowning boy. Within 5 minutes there's nobody else at the pool, then it's suddenly packed with people AND the boy is drowning but nobody heard the splash? And if he kid was playing away from he pool and the ball got 'blown in', why didn't he just ask someone in the pool to get it? AND, since it was an '18+ pool' (WTF is up with THAT anyway when it's not a motel?) shouldn't we assume he was in clothes, so why did he even jump in? AND where was the fence to keep the ball from even going in the pool in the first place (and to stop kids from getting in and, well, drowning, in the first place?). AND exactly how deep is this pool that Deidre was struggling to get to the bottom without more air? Certainly it wasn't a diving pool (ie. a pool with a 10m platform that would need something deeper than the 8 feet that is common in pools) So many fucking ands in this scenario...

I'm officially marking this one DNF at about 30%. Too much about Dave is being kept from the reader despite ample opportunity to fill us in (namely what law enforcement agency he works for as well as why he's investigating Charlie) since he's a PoV character. Keeping it from us makes zero sense because there's no reason not to. It would have made for a better story to have the active investigation a major part of the story instead of keeping up with the whole journalist charade. And for Deidre to have not even looked into him considering a) how much she detests journalists and b) how hard she is trying to keep her special skills out of the limelight and from her military superiors finding out. I mean come on... who DOESN'T Google someone they just met and are considering seeing? At least a little Facebook stalking even. Isn't she even a LITTLE curious about what he supposedly writes about?

I just can't with this book. Not even a little bit more. Life's too short to slog through bad books.

Deidre Roux is an Army officer with a secret, she gets visions of the future. After being gone for a couple years, her brother, Charlie, shows up bringing trouble with him. Her new neighbor, Dave Carter, says he's a reporter but he's sticking to her side and her brother has a new girlfriend who's sticking close. Turns out they're FBI agents there to protect the two of them because Charlie has something he isn't aware of that the killers are looking for.

Terry keeps you drawn in as Deidre tries to stay alive and keep her secret in close quarters. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to fans of Terry and those who love their romance with a side of paranormal.

BOUND BY DANGER by Terry Spear

Sizzling, edge-of-you-seat romantic suspense! Army Captain Deidre Roux is no pushover. BOUND BY DANGER’s heroine has no qualm when it comes to kick a few killers’ butts, thanks to her psychic abilities that warns her of them coming for her. I love Terry Spear because she takes me on a pulse-pounding ride that has plenty of action and romantic chemistry in every book.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is steamy and definitely draws the eye.

Okay, I think there are two aspects to look at for this review: the book and the audio.

I have been in a classroom where an audiobook was being played, but this is the first time I listened to a whole audiobook. For me, I liked that I could hear my book while I drove to and from work, so I was multi-tasking which is a great thing for me. I don’t know if I love the person reading the book though. I think I am going to have to listen to a few more audiobooks before I figure out what I really think because one isn’t enough to figure it out. I also have to start sticking to YA appropriate audiobooks in the car because my 13 year old son will also be in the car starting tomorrow. Please remember with audiobooks that you need to think about who else can hear your book before you start listening to it.

As usual, Terry Spear has another action packed story. Her descriptions are always awesome, so you can imagine everything happening as you go through the story. This story was so much better than I’d imagined which was idiotic of me because I should have known with Terry’s name on it that it would be awesome. But I was leery because it wasn’t one of my shifter books, they are my favorite. :)

Deidre is a fantastic character. I love how she handles herself and everything life throws her way including her visions. I really liked Dave as a character. Deidre’s brother and Dave’s co-workers added plenty of humor in the midst of all the action.

I will always reador listen to books by Terry Spear but especially her shifter books because they are favorites. I do have some of her YA audiobooks and will start listening to one tomorrow :)

Army officer Deidre Roux has hidden her psychic abilities until now. But ominous visions plague her and between the martial arts tactics her twin brother taught her and the hand-to-hand combat she learned in the Army—she’s realizing just how important these skills are for her well-being.

When a reporter moves in next door, she's not sure just what to think. Dave Carter owns a gun—it is Texas—and comes to her rescue when her brother suddenly drops into her life again. From there it's the normal stuff that women and men tend to do when they're getting to know each other—boating, swimming, dancing—except for one thing...she’s trying to keep her secret under wraps at all costs, which is difficult to do when she's under surveillance by the FBI, and people keep wanting her dead.

Could a reporter, who's not really a reporter, prove he might just have what it takes to keep her safe--for the long run?

Oh my! Gripping suspense... Non-stop action ... Sizzling HOT romance.... Numerous intriguing settings... Great Twists... and a Happy-Ever-After Ending that was absolutely awe-inspiring cool! I LOVE Terry's books and Bound by Danger certainly did NOT disappoint! I'd take a breath as one catastrophe was averted and then held that same breath as another one ensued!

Please know that I listened to the audiobook version of this book. The dialogue was polished and well-spoken and I had no trouble at all following the story. The main and supporting characters were all engaging. The story grabs you from the first few spoken words and doesn't let go until the epilogue wraps it up.

Deidre and Dave were our heroine and hero. Deidre was shy, an army officer with martial arts training, with a gift that she did not share out of her family. Her relationships had never gone anywhere as the strings pursuant to her gift would require a special person - one that Deidre didn't think existed. Dave was an FBI man, a former military. He was assigned to protect Deidre and her brother after they were targeted to die by an unknown party. He was all business and had never gotten emotionally involved in his cases... until he met Deidre.

I listened to this while running and forgot I was running. I gardened more than I'd gardened in a while... I just got carried away in the story.

Great Audiobook!!!!!

Bound by Danger

I'm glad to say once again I am never surprised when I enjoy Terry Spears books. I gave it a 4.5 only because my favorites are her Wolf Series and Jaguars. This book is really interesting. We have Capt. Deidre Roux who has visions of things that are going to happen. The only person she doesn't hide this from is her twin brother Charlie. Deidre has had problems in her past with people and her visions. Her new neighbor Dave Carter is FBI undercover. He thinks her brother might be involved in something serious. After seeing Deidre he doesn't mind his job at all. The problem is only she knows that something evil is after her but her visions aren't helping her no matter how hard she tries. Who keeps calling and hanging up? Lots of action. Really enjoyable!!! Terry really knows how to tell a story.

Talk about an action packed story. Captain Deidre Roux, Army personnel officer with a special talent finds herself in danger. Her new neighbor reporter Dave Carter isn't who she thinks he is. He's FBI agent Dave Caruthers assigned to protect Deidre and her brother. Danger is hot around every corner and that's not the only thing heating up. I could not put this book down its a must read.
