This is one of my most cherished books. I'll never outgrow it. It tells the story of a healing wolf that gives up being top predator of the forrest to follow its' true calling and help its' fellow animals. It stand as a fable of the importance of reserving judgement and seeing the individual, not the group - not all wolves are fierce, not all owls are wise and not all foxes should eat meat.
Read it and enjoy the wonderful blend between Peter Nickl's story and Józef Wilkon's illustrations.
I've been really upset these past few days because of the events currently happening in the world. It seems the entire world has turned into a garbage can on fire.
I needed something to cheer me up and calm down my nervous system.
This book is written for children and that's why it's been so helpful.
A simple, but hopeful message that highlights how you do not need to follow what's expected of you and how you can help others by being yourself.
The book is only thirty pages long, but manages to perfectly highlight the importance of community and show how fear-mongering and prejudice wreaks havoc upon the community.
The illustrations are lively and adorable and tie the story together flawlessly.
Beautiful story with cute illustration. The story of the kind wolf teaches us a valuable lesson: that we shouldn’t judge or label people based on one characteristic. Just as this wolf shows that even wolves can be kind, people can also surprise us with their kindness, compassion, and empathy. This story reminds us to look beyond labels and appreciate each person as an individual with their own unique characteristics.
